James was relatively well known for being a rather oblivious person.

He couldn't predict movies, even when others thought it was obvious.

He never noticed when someone was flirting with him.

And he certainly didn't know when other people liked each other.

Although James found the last one to be quite misleading. He didn't care enough about strangers to notice that kind of thing, but it was different when it was his friends.

So, he noticed when Remus started looking at Sirius.

It wasn't hard per say, because Remus was almost always looking at Sirius. In class for example, or the Great Hall, or on the Quidditch Pitch, or in the Common Room, or in the dorm, or–

Well, everywhere else.

His gaze would linger, and James figured it was because Remus liked Sirius differently from how he liked the rest of the group. So no, he wasn't completely oblivious to that sort of thing; he just knew to shut his mouth about it.

James also noticed that every time Sirius looked at Remus, he would look away.

Until…

So far it was only a speculation, but one day when Remus was looking at Sirius, and Sirius looked back at him, they both continued holding each other's gaze. Their cheeks would turn pink and once they stopped, they would touch each other; like a brush of hands or bumping their shoulders together.

So that day, two weeks into November, James noticed that his friends acted differently from how they used to.

And he knew they had found love in each other.

He also knew they weren't ready to tell anyone about it yet, so he pretended not to notice the glances and the touching. And he endured being called oblivious, even though he knew the nickname wasn't fully accurate.

A/N Beta-readers? What is that? Some sort of soup? (aka no one but me has looked at this before y'all)
