Chapter One
Mew Rose Tea
In the distance galaxy, a race of aliens called the Haax has eyes on our planet. Ruthless, selfish, and greedy. They live in an endangered world where little life is left. The Haax even killed to help their species to survive, through wars with other planets, to steal their resources to help themselves. Now they have sights on our planet as well since we have doomed our environment.
I, Professor Brezel, and my newly formed team of young college students will figure it out as my newest discovery of Crimson DNA. I found lost alien artifacts deep in the caves of Ryugashido caves. Where I saw HIM, hopefully, I can save HIM. I found the perfect hosts for the newest form of Crimson DNA, called Mew DNA.
It fades all to black, and a few minutes pass. We get a vision of a college, Tokyo University, to be exact. In a small studio dorm lives a theater student, a petite, red-brown-haired girl starting to wake up from a night's rest…
My day started like any old school day; I woke up from my phone alarm. I rub my eyes, pull my blanket off me, and head to my small bathroom. I took a hot shower, and soon after, I dressed in my college uniform. I grab my bag, put on my shoes, and head out the door. I headed start to Tokyo University, it's a short distance from my dorm room. Once I stepped onto the school grounds, I headed to the cafeteria to grab breakfast. Today, I grabbed some milk bread toast, a veggie omelet, and hot rose tea, and I put a little sugar and cream. Rose tea, in any form, is my favorite tea. I saw my best friend Rina as she waved to me to sit with her; we chatted as we ate. I realized I had my first class of the day, theatrical history. Since I was a little girl, I've wanted to be an actress, performing in a high-end theater. I told Rina my goodbyes and walked to class, and it was a short walk. I saw other classmates running into the classroom.
"Rekkia! Are you paying any attention?" questioned Professor Dorama.
"Of course, Sir, we were talking about a few great plays of Shakespeare, am I correct?" I answered back.
"Yes, Rekkia, let's get back in the play…" Professor Dorama trails off about the history of Shakespeare's plays.
As I look outside through the window, the sky looks different, the shades of blue are, and no clouds are in sight. Hmm, what on earth is going on? It felt like hours before my first class ended. I walk over to one of the vending machines outside of the classroom building. I glanced over to see, seeing a chestnut shaggy-haired young male; it looked like Sake, an old childhood friend of mind. It seems like Sake meets up with a few of his friends, maybe his gamer friends. I overheard them talking about a secret project with a professor. I'm going to sneak over to spy on them.
"Hey, Rekkia!" I heard a familiar voice in the distance; I turned around and looked over; it was my older sister Masami. I ran around and hugged her; I hadn't seen her in a few weeks.
"Hey, big sis, what are you doing here? I thought you finished your class this semester." I inquired her.
"Oh, I did, little sis, but I was asked to intern here on campus. It is going to be great!" Masami looked up at the sky, "It looks like it is going to rain; that wasn't on the weather forecast this morning."
"Hmm, your right, sis," as I look up at the sky, a massive blot of lightning strikes on the ground near us. It scared the both of us, as an announcement was going on the loudspeaker, and a list of names was being called to meet up at the common area gardens. I heard my name being called; that's weird; I haven't done anything terrible. I'm a model student.
"I'm sorry big sis, and I have to go now. Are you all right?" I asked her, as she shook her head yes and told me to go and I should be late for what they wanted me for. I headed over to the center of the campus.
I notice other girls there, each talking about the freaky lighting. I bumped into a girl with long, ruby hair. Soon after, the ground under us began to shake, and a blinding light showered us. I covered my eyes up so I would hurt them, I gave it a few seconds, and I opened them. I was alone, and the place felt warm. I saw roses everywhere. In the middle of all the roses was a white-tailed deer. The deer walked toward me, and I slowly walked toward it. The deer bent its head down like it wanted me to pet it. I reached out for it; the fur was soft on the palm of my hand. I felt a strong bond between us. The blinding light returned, and I felt faint, as I could see anything.
I woke up as if I had fallen asleep. Not knowing how much time has passed. I looked around, seeing if there were any of the girls I visited before. But I see Masami running towards me.
"Rekkia, are you okay?" Masami asked me, and I looked up right at the sky. The sky seemed utterly normal.
"I felt a little weak, but I don't remember much; felt like I had a weird dream, but I don't know, hmm?" I looked up at Masami, all confused. "Where did the other girls go?"
"Sis, I think they ran off when that weird lighting blot hit the common gardens grounds." She helped me up off the ground and dusted the dirt off me. "Are you sure you're feeling okay?"
"I think so, I just don't remember, but I think I should head back to class…"
"Rekkia, classes are over for the time being of the weird storm; let me help your dorm." Masami stated, "I think you need to rest." I agreed with her, as I felt unsettled that someone was watching us.
The sun was setting as Masami, and I reached my dorm; it felt like hours we walked. We exchanged goodbyes, and Masami went to her home. I made a quick dinner, stirred fried veggies with plain rice, and grabbed a cider. I went to my little living area, placed my meal on my coffee table, and sat on the couch. I realized; my favorite Japanese drama was about to start. I turned on my tv, and the theme song of Lovers in Denial began playing. Soon after I finished my meal, I began to fall asleep. I could remember my dream like it was a well-written play. I am running from an enormous animal-like monster. The monster attacked me; as a bright ball of energy shot at me, a loud BANG shocked me on the ground. Somehow Sake is there with me; he is yelling at me. Yet I don't understand, since my ears a ringing, as he hands me a charm. I tried to read his lips about saying something. I felt like I needed to do something, and I yelled a few words from the heart. I transform into a magical girl, like the ones in anime. Yet I had antlers, deer ears, and a deer tail. I was wearing a light pink short ruffly dress with a puffy bow on its side, and I looked at my hands; on them was soft pink ruffly wrist glove and light pink arm puffed sleeves. I look down at my feet, pale pink shin high-heeled boots, and a fluffy garter. I looked back up, looking into my reflection; I noticed on my neck a light pink fuzzy choker with the same pendant that Sake gave me. My eyes and hair changed too, no longer a reddish color, now a pale pink. The monster attacked me again, knocking me down. As the beast prepared to attack me again, I suddenly woke up.
I looked out my window, and it was still dark. I realize I'm still hazy on the couch, and I pick up my phone off my coffee table. I had an hour before class, so I headed to the bathroom for a quick shower. After about ten minutes of washing and drying myself off, I could stop thinking about that dream; what did that mean? Was I a magical girl in real life? I loved the outfit I was wearing and the cute little deer ears. As I was about to finish brushing my teeth, I looked at my phone; I have gotten a quick panic; I was going to be late; I didn't realize how much time I spent. I quickly put on my uniform and grabbed my backpack, bolting out the door. The outside darkness seemed brighter like I could see in the dark. Hmm, that's weird. I started to run to campus, and I felt like I was picking up more speed. I kept running until I saw a crosswalk where I heard car horns. I looked over at the headlights, and I froze up. I couldn't move as the bright lights hypnotized me. I felt a force tear me from the sunlight, seconds of getting hit by the oncoming cars. I felt like I was a deer in the headlights.
"REKKIA! WHY WOULD YOU STAND THERE? YOU COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!" I looked up, hearing a boyish voice; I couldn't tell who it was as my eyes tried to readjust. I looked around; I wasn't near the campus. I look at the voice's direction. It's Sake, and his yelling at me so loud, my ears are ringing.
"Sa-Sake? Wh-What just happened?" I'm so confused about what is going on. "I froze up when I saw that car lights." I could see him so angry yet worried about me. He takes a good look at me but a deeper look at my throat. His feelings seem to change and change quickly.
"Are you alright, Rekkia? I'm just glad I was trying to get to class, but you're usually closer to campus; why are you all the way here?" Sake questions me
"Honestly, I was heading to class; I was about to be late." I pulled out my phone, and I had about a half-hour minutes before my class started. "I felt like I was late; hmm, I guess I'll be on time."
"Oh, well, you should be more careful. I don't want you hurt Rekkia." Sake tells me. "Rushing like that could put you in serious trouble."
I nod yes "Do you want to walk together to class to keep me out of trouble."
Sake pats my head as he smiles. "Sure thing; I have to make sure you are safe." The both of us head to campus for our day of classes would start….
Meanwhile, on the lonely planet where the Haax were plotting to invade our world.
The Queen of the Haax, Queen Kinoko, is the newest ruler of her planet since King Daikon was lost on his space voyage. He left his most loyal knights to help the queen revive life-saving resources. As of this monument, Queen Kinoko is sitting in her throne room as the four knights arrive, bending at one knee once they reach the throne as they wait for her to speak.
"My loyal Knights, whom I have left on our dying planet, I see a new galaxy ahead of the many concord ones; how can we concord this one?" as she pauses, "I know this planet may contain my missing husband, so I don't want it in total destroyed."
"My Queen Kinoko, I have decided to steal what we can from that planet ahead." Stated a young male, short silver-haired, with sharp pointed ears and eyes of chrome, dressed in light steel mail armor. "As a group, we have created this." he pulls off a jelly-looking blob, "I call it a Pearl Parasite; it infects other life forms that aren't part of our world. And makes it into a hideous monster that will attack our command."
"Knight Endo, is that true? Is what Knight Bito is saying help us in our mission to save what we have left?" as Queen Kinoko Questions the group
"These primal species, they are so involved within themselves, they won't care or even bother what is going on, so with the Pearl Parasites will make the environment hostel, with the proper host." Explains the oldest male, long spikey dark navy haired, with long sharp pointed ears, with oxford blue eyes, dressed in heavy mail robes. "So, yes, My Queen, I think we should send down Knight Bito for a test run and see if this can work."
"What kind of resources are you going after first?" Questions Queen Kinoko "We are in desperate need of resources; I believe health soil would be the best."
"Yes, My queen. That our first thought, after the host is taken over, is what we would be after."
"This plan of yours is a good start. Hopefully, these primal beings won't intervene, Knight Bito, don't neglect our mission."
"of course, my queen." As Knight Bito takes off,
We returned to Rekkia while she was in school, around the late afternoon. Rekkia is relaxing at one of the fountains; Rekkia is looking at herself in the reaction to the water…
I glanced at the water; I noticed a mark where my voice box would be. To double-check, I grabbed my backpack and looked for my pocket mirror. I could not believe what I was looking at. The pink mark resembles deer ears with antlers, with a rose and boba pearls around it. I get a chill up my spine, and I shove my pocket mirror back into my backpack. I started to leave the fountain; I could hear someone heading up to me.
"Rekkia! Wait up!" yelled Sake as he was heading towards me. "I wanted to see if you were okay?"
I looked up, and I am glad it's Sake. I got worried some stranger was about to attack me from behind. "Yes, Sake, a little shaken up, but I can manage." As I looked at Sake, the sunlight shone on him, and somehow, he seemed cute today. "Oh, I forgot to thank you for saving me.'
"Oh? There is no need, Rekkia; I was there at the right time." Sake put his hand on my head. "I would try to save you anytime you're in danger."
"Ho-how are your classes going? I know you are going after your doctorate in computer sciences, right?" I asked, turning to hold back my face, as I could feel my face blushing.
"Oh yeah, those classes are easy for me since you know I'm a kid prodigy; recently, I found a new project with this professor of mine." Looking at my throat, he seems surprised about its new mark.
Suddenly a high fog rolls in; that is unusual. A lot of weird weather patterns lately. In the far distance, I could hear faint screams and something crashing into things.
"Shit! I thought I had more time!" I looked at Sake; he was worried about something. "Come with me, and I think it's time to share with you about that new propjet of mine,"
"Wh-what do you mean, Sake?" Sake grabs my hand and starts talking about aliens and how they are after resources on our planet as we run into the thick fog at the commons. We kept on running through the mist till there was a clearing.
"See there, that animal is danger." Points Sake at a stray coyote, "See that alien, they are called the Haax, and he going to change that poor animal to do his bidding." As we watch this jelly-like thing go into the coyote, the poor thing transforms into a monstrous something. It looks at us and starts running as it lunges with its claws. Knowing us down and out of the way.
"Here, Rekkia, you need this to transform" Sake hands me a pendent; it marks the where mark on my throat. "You need to transform into Mew Rose Tea."
"Wh-what?" I looked at Sake, confused and frighted of what was going on. I was speechless. I felt like saying something, yet my words were not coming. I felt like the words were coming to me, like my dream. It is precisely liked my dream. I know what I must do.
"MEW MEW ROSE TEA METAMORPHOSIS!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. I felt the power of the pendant. I kissed the cham with my lips and pressed the pendent on my throat where that mark was. I felt so much energy coming everywhere. As light pink and rose petals surrounded me, a pale pink ruffle dress popped on my body, and a pink bow popped on the side of the dress. I lifted my arms from my body, and the petals and lights covered my hands and arms as I moved them, as a pair of pink arm puffs and pink ruffled gloves wrapped my hands and arms. I swirl around, and the petals with the lights surrounding my feet and legs springing up a pair of pink shin-high heeled and a fuzzy pink grater. I clap my hands, and a set of deer antlers bounces up from my head as a pair of deer ears appear. I jumped up as a dear tail emerged; as I turned around after I landed on the ground, the petals surrounding my neck emerged a pink fuzzy chocker with my pendant hanging on it. I opened my eyes, and my hair and eyes changed to pale pink. I looked at a window next to me; it was like my dream; I was still dreaming.
"Good job! Now battle Chimera and save that animal!" Sake yelled at me.
"Wh-what is happening!" I screamed, "Wh-what! I have to fight that thing!" I yelled back at Sake, still confused. The monster lunges at me, attacking me with its massive claws. "Ouch, that hurts," I winced. The beast growls at me and prepares to strike again. I started running away from it; I felt as fast as a deer.
"That's not how you fight, pathetic primal species." I heard an unfamiliar voice, and I looked over, and I was shocked, as this alien human-looking thing was floating in the air. Was this the Haax Sake was trying to explain? He looks unworldly, yet he looks at me, his pointed ears, his pale skin, with his eyes of chromium. His figure is a typical early college male. He moves closer to me, almost to my face. Stopping me in my place, I had to hold my heels down to stop.
"That young primal male said your name is Mew Rose Tea?" he asks me; "Well, let me introduce myself. I am Knight Bito, one of the Four Righteous Knights of Queen Kinoko." As Knight Bito announces himself, "I'm here with our creation to help the state of our planet, even though your primitive mortal has doomed this planet."
As the monster started charging at me again, I started running again as the beast chased after me swiping his claws at me, trying to knock me down.
"Mew Rose Tea, you must summon your animal courage and fight back!" Yelled Sake, still out of my view.
The Monster attacks with its powerful claws and knocks me down. With its vast feet, it holds me down. I calm down, and I try to center myself as I do. I felt a surge of power within myself. I want to save this poor animal, and I want to keep my college; I want to improve this planet. I pushed the claws out of my way and vastly moved out of the way. I have gotten up and felt more power and energy. I started running at full speed. I felt the sense of nature around me. Roses grew around me as I ran. Soon the petals surrounded me, and my antlers grew more prominent as I picked up speed.
"Fauna Petal Headbutt!" As I yelled, suddenly, I hit the Monstrous animal right in the head, bouncing it off my head. So much force made the monster hit a tree. It has gotten back up like nothing happened. I want to save this coyote's life, even though I am scared.
Knight Bito laughed. "That's all of your power Mew Rose Tea?" Knight Bito snickers "Just pitiful Primal humans. Continue my pet steal that fertile soil so we can take to Queen Kinoko." As the beast
I felt more power and energy to fight him. I felt all the animals' pain, as I felt like running again. I started running again towards the animal, with all my speed. I felt more energy and power; I saw pink energy deer alongside me as the rose petals around us.
"Fauna Herd Stampede!" I yelled as the whole group of deer, and I attacked the monstrous coyote. Knocking it down, it looks a bit hurt, and now I figure out how to get the parasite out of it.
"Mew Rose tea, you need to summon your weapon from your bow; you need to find a way to summon it!" yelled Sake as I could hear him from a distance; I looked towards him and nodded.
"GRR! My Pet, do as I say destroy her!" yelled Knight Bito.
"It's not YOURE pet!" I yelled at him, "Why did you change this animal? What do you have to gain from this?"
"Hmm?" Knight Bito looks at me, then fly super close to my face as a teasing matter. "Ooh? I like to see your face flushed with anger." Knight Bito grabs my chin with cold hands, "Your mind now."
"Wh-what?" My face blushing; why am I blushing? Is he trying to flirt with me? I felt a different power coming within me.
"Aw, your face is all red now; it is because I claim you. How sweet." Knight bito starts to laugh in my face holding my face in his hands. I used all my force from my legs and kicked him from me. That power felt great like the white-tailed deer wanting to finish this. I felt the natural within myself. I know what to summon.
"Rosetta Ribbon Bell," I yelled, and magically a large rosy cowbell with a heart-shaped handle with ribbon bows and roses on top of it appeared.
"OH! You think that would help you?" questioned Knight Bito as he snapped his fingers, as the monsters followed his snap. "Finish her, then go back to gathering the dirt."
"Rose Ribbon Melody!" I yelled. Now the monster charges at me; a beautiful bell rang with rose petals flying towards the monster, hitting it. A bright light covered the monster animal, and suddenly the Pearl parasite and coyote were separated.
"R402, come on out," yelled Sake, as I noticed a puffy fur ball with tiny antlers and a tiny deer face. "Go ahead, eat up." As it opened its mouth and sucked in the parasite.
"Damn it! I will bring what I have collected." Exclaimed knight bito, "I wish you did have to stop all this fun." Knight bito smiles as he disappears. The coyote looks at us and takes off.
"Good job!" as sake walks towards me, a black limo drives beside him. "Let's go for a drive, and let's talk about what's going on."
"Ye-yes please, Sake…What just happened?" sake opens the door, and I sit in. "Am I going turn back to normal?"
Sake nods yes as we ride off campus. It felt like hours, hours in silence, but soon we arrived, and I magically transformed back to my human form. We come to an outdated building that looks like an old café. I am still confused. Oh, what is going on? An older blonde man, with a couple of college males, was outside. Sake opens the door and grabs my hand gently.
"Welcome to Mew mew Boba Café, Dear Rekkia." Said the older blonde man; he wore a long white lab coat with a sweater and a pair of thin-framed glasses, and black slacks.
"Mew mew boba café?" I asked, "Who are these guys, sake?"
"Well, Rekkia, this is my professor and my classmates." Explains Sake, "This is our place of operations for that new project."
"Running a Boba tea café?" I said in a bratty tone, "Why a café?"
"Well, it's a way to cover the underground lab I had built underneath." Said the professor. "By the way, I'm Professor Bretzel, and let's meet the others, shall we."
As Sake and Professor Bretzel head toward the other boys. We all walk into the café and a small door next to the kitchen. The professor opens it and leads us down. The other boys introduce themselves and what they do. Udon, he tall with slate hair, and he seems pretty laid back and quiet; he is studying computer security, and he is excellent at hacking to places we need to get to. Mochi, a soft blonde and smaller out of the three boys, Mochi loves to build and invent new inventions to help the mews.
"We built this place to help track and search for the Haax and environment changes." Explained Professor Bretzel. "And we need your help."
"My help?" I asked, still confused about everything.
"You need to find the other mews, fight together against the Haax, and save our planet from their invasion."
"There is another like me. Would I ever be normal again?" I asked to get more information,
"Yes, the sooner you get rid of the Haax, the sooner you can return to normal." Said professor Bretzel "The next girl's DNA animal; well, insect DNA is the Lunar moth and has an element of wind."
"Element? You mean like the flowers I can control?" I asked, trying to get an explanation. "And do you know her name? That would help me to see if she goes to the same college?"
Sake nods yes as Mochi jumps in and starts talking; "R4021 should help you with that; it detects Mew and alien DNA."
"Who or what is R4021?" I asked as the same puff deer popped out.
"HI! HI! Yelled the puffy deer.
"that's R4021, and it helps you track the Pearl parasites as well, and if the animal transforms to a Chimera, which is what we call them."
"Ah, I see; well, I'll start right away!" as I head out, Sake stops me.
"You must wear this in the café to help save the world." he faces is, blushing, and hands me a pink maid-like uniform.
"Wh-why do I need this?" I looked at it and took it from him. I blushed. Does Sake have a maid fetish? I blush even more.
"Well, we need to also work at the café for us since it is the cover for this?" said Sake.
"So, wait. You want me to serve teas and snacks, fight the invasion, and still act normal in my current school days?"
"Yes, yet you would have the others to help you once you find them." Explain Professor Bretzel.
As mochi and Udon come in with teas and snacks, my favorite is rose macaroons. We ate, and they explained more about the mew program. Soon after a few hours, Sake took me home. My head is buzzing about what happened to me the last few days.
