Vision or Dream - *Talking*
Cybertronian speaking - "Talking"
Comm Link Bot/Con/Human/Over Video/Bond - "talking"
Three Days Later
It has been three days since Abelia had that dream and she has yet to tell the others. She still wasn't sure what to make of it. She had a vision about another Seer, Nightbird, who apparently wasn't happy to discover she was one. She decided to think about it later, as right now, she was looking for Bumblebee and Jazz.
Sarah was right in what she said. Abelia feared the Autobots giving up if she were to die but knowing that they won't, calmed her fears. She doesn't want to die, but if she does, she's glad to know that her friends won't stop fighting after she talked with them.
But right now, she was putting that aside as she approached Bumblebee and Jazz, who were sitting on the ground and looking over a hologram coming from Jazz's optics.
"Hey, mechs! What are you doing," Abelia asked as Bumblebee and Jazz looked up at her.
Jazz looked down at her and grinned.
"Well, I'm showin' Bumblebee some o' tha sights I saw before tha war. Dat not tha real deal, but lettin' him see tha hologram is tha next best thang," Jazz told her.
Abelia looked at the hologram.
It was a giant metal fountain with some pink glowing liquid coming out of the top. Abelia noticed that the fountain was gold and that other buildings were gold in color as well.
"Where is that," Abelia asked, interested.
Bumblebee looked at her, his optics lightening up.
"Ohh, you might wanna listen to this since Cybertron is technically your home as well," Bumblebee said, holding his hand out, waiting for Abelia to climb on.
Abelia climbed onto Bee's hand, letting him bring her to his shoulder. Once she was seated, Bumblebee gestured to the hologram.
"That is the Pink Energon fountain in Icon. It was the main center and the key point for the Hall of Records," Bumblebee stated.
"Very good Bumblebee," Jazz praised before the hologram changed. It was a giant building, gold with a mix of blue and red colors, "And this?"
"The Hall of Records," Bumblebee stated, "In human terms, the oldest library. Optimus used to go there a lot during his days before the war. It was also one of the few places that only accepted anyone no matter the rank."
Abelia smiled as she watched her yellow friend smile. She knew what Jazz was doing. He wasn't just showing Bumblebee what Cybertron looked like before, he was giving history lessons. It was after that realized did she what Bumblebee said and frowned.
It sounded like no one knew that Optimus actually worked there. If that was the case, she wasn't going to spill and just stay silent. It wasn't her choice to tell them. She might not have been around as long, but Optimus was the lowest rank for centuries due to his Sire, not to mention what others could've put him through.
She decided to file that away for now and decided to help Jazz give Bumblebee history lessons, the fact she wanted to know Cybertron's history also fueling her.
"What do you like the most, Bee," Abelia asked.
Bumblebee hummed, "I don't remember much of my past because I was so young, but I really like the Pink Energon fountain in Icon. Pink is the color of pure Energon before it's flittered instead of the blue we drink."
Jazz hummed, tilting his head as he thought. He grinned after a couple of seconds before the hologram changed from the Hall of Records to four different planets, the first looked made of metal, the second also looked like it was made of metal, but had a ring around it, the third one looked green, and the last one was sand-colored.
"How 'bout dem planets," Jazz gestured to the Holograms.
"Cybertron is the first, Gigantion is the second, Jungle Planet is the third, and Velocitron is the last," Bumblebee stated, "Gigantion, Jungle Planet, and Velocitron are Cybertron's sister planets."
"Sister planets?"
Abelia looked between Jazz and Bumblebee, before looking back at the hologram.
"How is yo' knowledge o' da otha planets Bumblebee," Jazz asked, "Because I think yo' should tell Abelia."
"Okay," Bumblebee said. He turned his head just enough so he could look at Abelia, Abelia returning the favor by staring back.
"Gigantion, also known as the Giant Planet, is an enormous mechanical megapolis, a vastly upscaled analog of Cybertron. Gigantians are enormous, towering over the largest current Cybertronians, including Optimus. The Gigantians live alongside the Mini-cons, who help them build things they themselves can't due to their size. The Gigantians. Despite their imposing size and strength, they are not much given to violence or warfare. Most are gentle and peaceful, desiring only to hone their skills and build ever grander structures. Construction is the order of the day for any proper Gigantion, and as such the denizens of the planet transform into heavy-duty construction vehicles. Gigantion is surrounded not just by a ring, but by a debris field made up of the detritus of ancient building projects.
Jungle Planet, also known as Beast Planet, is a lush and verdant world covered in pristine wilderness. The light of day is harsh and scorching; the rains are torrential downpours. Volcanoes rise above the green canopy, usually slumbering in smoky menace, sometimes bursting forth with firestorms of destruction. Amidst its verdant jungles and oceans, strange beasts prowl. Unlike the many other Cybertronian colonies across the galaxy, these early Cybertronian settlers left their wild world unspoiled by civilization and adapted to their harsh environment by adopting fearsome beast modes. Only the mightiest may rule this planet where strength and teeth are the only laws, and the insular tribes and clans who dwell here are distrustful of ancestral Cybertronians with vehicular alternate modes.
Velocitron, otherwise known as the Speed Planet, was colonized by trailblazing Velocitronians eons ago. The flat desert planet and its wide-open spaces soon gave rise to a monomaniacal culture focused entirely on racing. This is no planet for ungainly or slow-moving 'bots: unsurprisingly, almost every Velocitronian transforms into some kind of high-powered racing vehicle. This racing obsession permeates every facet of life: Velocitronians even race to elect leaders and implement governmental policies, in massively-publicized events such as the famous Speedia 500. Forever fixated on speed, others might classify the average Velocitronian as "impatient," "high-strung," or just plain "annoying."
"Good job, Bee," Jazz praised.
Abelia giggled, bringing a hand up to cover her mouth as Bumblebee tried to contain his happiness which she felt in his little bounce jumps. Clearing her throat, Abelia gestured to the holograms.
"What did they do during the war," Abelia asked.
"They didn't join, though some of their people did choose to. Instead, Optimus sent the neutrals to the other planets. Very few Deceptions actually did go to them, but overall they were banned from the entirety. Autobots didn't go to them either, but those who had family still alive went there."
"Bumblebee! I need you over here," Ratchet called from inside one of the barns.
Abelia quickly climbed down, allowing Bumblebee to get up and head over to Ratchet. Abelia watched home go before she looked back at Jazz. He was wearing his visor, but she could tell that something was wrong as he had a bittersweet smile while watching Bumblebee leave.
"What's wrong," Abelia asked.
Jazz looked down at her and sighed, "Itz my fault Bumblebee lost his voice. I barely heard him speak like dat since he lost it."
"What do yo' mean," Abelia asked, confused at how Jazz thought that was his fault.
Jazz shook his head, "I don't think tellin' yo' be tha right idea."
Abelia narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms, "I can find out easily."
Jazz huffed and shook his head, "I guess yo' can. What's stoppin' yo'?"
"I want to hear it from you."
Jazz sighed and shrugged, "Thatz fair, but yo' might not like what yo' hea."
"Not everything is," Abelia stated, sitting down in front of Jazz as the Holograms disappeared.
"Bumblebee n' I was tryin' ta locate n' rescue some lost Autobots n' when we found 'em, we got ambushed. Our group was outnumbered four ta seven, but we fought back. However, I was quickly surrounded by four o' 'em. Bein' Prime's Spy meant killin' me would damage da Autobot's spirits. Bumblebee saw my plight n' drew three o' 'em ta him', but I didn't know dat. He killed two o' 'em before da last Con got lucky n' grabbed him n' decided ta use his spinnin' blades on Bumblebee's chest.
He missed bcuz' Bumblebee moved, but dat attack hit da area where Bee's voice was. Da screech Bumblebee let out haunted me fo' decades. I killed tha Decepticon by shootin' his head, n' tha only survivin' Con ran off. Tha group patched what we could, n' quickly brought Bumblebee back ta base ta Ratchet, but while he saved Bumblebee, hee couldn't save his voice. If only I paid mo' attention, I could have prevented Bumblebee from losin' his voice."
Abelia shook her head even when she wiped a tear away, "It's not your fault. Are you a Seer?"
"No."
"Then you could never have foreseen this happening."
"But I could've helped him," Jazz mumbled.
"Do you think Bumblebee needs you to blame yourself when he needs you? If anything, you blaming yourself will make Bee blame himself. He doesn't need that and neither do you."
"I guess," Jazz said, unconvinced.
Abelia stood up and crossed her arms, "Put it this way: Bumblebee gets hurt saving you, and you blame yourself for that, but this makes Bee blame himself because he got hurt. Get it? The best thing for the both of you is for you to stop blaming yourself."
"But how can Bee know I blame myself," Jazz asks.
Abelia raised an eyebrow, "Bee's not stupid."
Jazz huffed and a small grin appeared on his face, "Your right 'bout dat. He's a smart one and as well as strong."
"If I was strong, I would have been able to withstand the attack."
Abelia jumped and turned around to see Bee standing not too far from them. She was confused for a second about how the heck a giant metal being could move so silently before she ignored it in favor of what Bumblebee said.
"Bumblebee, that ain't true," Abelia protested.
"But it is. If I was stronger or at least quicker, I would have gotten away. Then Jazz wouldn't blame himself."
Abelia turned her head to look at Jazz with a look that said, 'I told you so.'
Abelia looked back at Bumblebee.
"Bumblebee, when I met you, I was in danger of Cons and people. You protected me and kept me safe. Those actions say a lot about you. But it doesn't matter how strong you are or how fast you can move. A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart. Or in this case, spark. And you Bee, have a big spark."
Throughout Abelia's talk, Bee was looking more sure of himself and confident and looking less like a dejected being. Abelia turned to Jazz.
"And blaming yourself for something out of your power is understandable, but you need to understand it's also not your fault. Some things happen out of your control."
Jazz nodded. "I understand."
Jazz and Bumblebee shared a smile and nodded to each other. Abelia smiled, knowing that the two of them will talk it out and be better after some time.
After tapping Bee on the shoulder, Jazz walked away, heading towards the barn, a small spring in his step.
"But naw I'm goin' ta go botha Ratchet."
"What!? No!" Alarmed, Bumblebee chased after Jazz who apparently has a death wish. Laughing under her breath, Abelia followed to help Bee keep Rachet from killing Jazz. But honestly, she also wants to see Ratchet lose it so she wants to see what Jazz does.
Come on, playing both sides is sometimes fun.
Sometime Later
"I need to speak to Epps about making something for you guy's to clean up," Will mused, cleaning some mud off of Optimus's door.
"It would be nice to have a Cleaning Station," Optimus commented.
Will chuckled.
Sometime after Abelia and Bumblebee stopped Jazz from angering Ratchet to the point of the medic to killing Jazz, Sarah noticed that the Autobots had a lot of dirt on them. She commented on it and that led to Abelia wanting to bring the Autobots to a Car Wash.
However, the closest Car Wash was only big enough for Jazz, Bumblebee, and Ironhide. The lights on Ratchet and Optimus's size made them unable to fit. So, Abelia was taking those three while Ratchet and Optimus stayed behind to get hand-washed.
Annabelle was in a playpen not too far from them, playing with some baby toys as her parents helped their friends out.
"It would improve our morale if we had something to clean off the aftermath of a battle, or a prank," Ratchet commented.
Sarah chuckled, "A good cleaning after a hard day is always refreshing."
"I agree with that," Will chuckled.
It was like that for a while, the four of them talking about small things. Sarah got quiet after a bit, a thought floating in her head like it has been for a while.
"Will, can I ask you something," Sarah asked her husband.
"You just did," Will grinned.
"I will throw my sponge at you."
Will laughed at the deadbeat tone in her voice, knowing that despite his back being turned to her, she was narrowing her eyes at him. "What is it?"
Sarah opened and closed her mouth, wondering how to phrase her thoughts. After a moment, she just sighed and went out with it. "I want to adopt Abelia."
Will paused, and turned his head to look at his wife, who also stopped cleaning Ratchet Alt Mode. Optimus and Ratchet also went silent, wanting to hear Sarah's reasons for adopting their young friend.
"Not that I'm against it, but why. She's 18," Will stated.
"Abelia deserves something better than those sorry excuses of parents," Sarah stated, a hard glare in her eye at the thought, "I want to show her what a real parent is like and I know we can do that without adopting her, but she needs people in her corner. She was disowned while saving the world and if that isn't a burn, then it's freezing ice with how cold it is. I want to show those people that just because they threw her away like trash, she'll be our treasure."
Throughout Sarah's explanation, Will just crossed his arms and smiled. His wife had a big heart and Abelia's parents disowning her was an act of injustice to her. Adopting Abelia will not only show her how much they care for her but also show those former parents of hers what they missed if they ever see it. And it's not like the thought of adopting Abelia didn't cross his mind.
"Okay," Will said after Sarah was done speaking, "Let's adopt her."
Sarah beamed, her eyes lighting up in victory, "Yes! Let's surprise her once we get the paperwork ready."
Will laughed and nodded, turning to once again clean the dirt off Optimus. Remembering that Optimus was Abelia's brother, Will asked, "That okay with you, Optimus?"
"Abelia having parents again? Yes, it's fine. I trust your family, Will," Optimus said, a smile clearly in his voice.
Your family, Will thought with a grin. In the beginning, the Autobots trusted Will and his men because they fought with them and stood by them. The fact they said his family included Sarah and Annabelle. Sarah proved they could trust her by removing the camera chip, her kindness towards them, and her desire to help Abelia. Annabelle because of the fact she was a baby and his daughter.
At that moment, the sound of vehicles coming up the driveway had Will and Sarah both tensing in case it was someone or something that shouldn't be there, but they relaxed when they saw three familiar forms enter their line of sight.
Abelia exited Jazz when he stopped, the young lady approaching the Lennox's with the air of a sheepish child as the three Autobots transformed. Sarah narrowed her eyes at the sheepish look on Abelia's face and the fact she was rubbing the back of her neck while shifting her weight back from foot to foot. Sarah also took in a guilty-looking Ironhide and a giddy, but also guilty-looking Bumblebee and Jazz. Sarah stood straight up and crossed her arms.
"Okay, you four. What happened," Sarah asked, raising an eyebrow.
Abelia laughed nervously as she rubbed her neck, "They all went through the Car Wash and got cleaned...buuuut it is best we don't return anytime soon or not at all due to Ironhide speeding inside and breaking the belt, which I paid for thanks to Will giving me a lot of money to pay for the Car Wash in the first place as well as some as my own. The Workers and Owner weren't really happy with us and as I said, I don't think they want us back."
Will snorted, bringing a hand up to his mouth to try and stop the laughter.
Sarah sighed and turned to Will, "I was wrong. Looks like weren't gaining four instead of one."
Will lost it and started laughing as Abelia, Jazz, Bee, and Ironhide looked confused at Sarah's statement. Optimus and Ratchet chuckled silently at their friends being called kids by Sarah. They aren't going to live this down.
After Lunch
After cleaning the bots and eating lunch, Abelia grabbed some small things from the barns that Will helped her set up, things that if broken he and his wife didn't need anymore, and put them all in a pile next to the barn. She wanted to help Optimus with his new-found powers and starting small would help him instead of struggling to go big right away.
She sat down, resting her back against the barn. She closes her eyes, reaching out to Optimus through their bond.
"Optimus. Where are you?"
It took about a second, but she had an answer. "I was speaking to Ratchet. He has an idea to help us blend in with humans and wanted my input. What do you need?"
"I'm over by the barns. I wanted to help you with your ability. I think I found a way, as I said days ago."
"Oh? How so?"
"I found some things that Will and Sarah don't need or want, small stuff really. Practice on these and work your way up to the bigger things."
"Smart thinking. I'm coming."
Abelia opens her eyes, looking around for Optimus. She sees him come around the side of the house and make his way to her. It takes him seconds to reach her and then he sits down a couple of feet away from her. Abelia picks up an old rusty can and rests her hand on her knee, palm open skyward with the rusty can laying in the middle of her hand.
"Try to lift the can out of my hand," Abelia said, looking at Optimus, "After that, move it around, I guess."
"You guess," Optimus raised a metal eyebrow at her, tilting his head.
Abelia huffed and playfully glared at him, "It's your ability, not mine."
Optimus chuckled before looking at the can. It was silent for a couple of minutes as the rusty can in her hand failed to move. Abelia waited patiently, knowing that this was new to Optimus. Suddenly, the rusty can in her hand was crushed into pieces, making both Abelia and Optimus jump from the unexpected event. Both of them stared at the metal pile of scrap pieces now in Abelia's hand.
Abelia moved her hand and dropped the pile of crushed can pieces onto the ground. She looked at her palm. There were no wounds despite the fact she felt them enter her skin, but then she remembered she had nanobites that healed her wounds now and the fact she healed faster and didn't get hurt from some things that regular humans did. Grinning slightly at his, Abelia reached over something else.
This happened for the next couple of minutes. Optimus would try to lift the object out of Abelia's hand and while Abelia could feel the object in her hand moving, they all ended up crushed. Abelia could feel Optimus starting to get slightly frustrated, even though he didn't show it, that he unintendedly destroyed the objects he meant to lift up. After another object got destroyed, Abelia got an idea.
"Try using your hand. Like, using your power through it, like a bridge," Abelia told him as she grabbed another object, this time it was an old metal bowl.
Optimus paused and nodded, raising his hand slightly. This time, after a couple of seconds, Abelia felt the bowl moving before it lifted up out of her hand and into the air. Abelia grinned when the bowl spun in a slow circle. She looked up at Optimus and saw he was grinning triumphantly.
She let him practice a bit more before an evil thought crossed her mind. Optimus's only warning was a mischievous feeling coming from Abelia before she spoke.
"So how does our race decide genders? Do you choose or are you born?"
Optimus made a noise of surprise, and the bowl crushed into a metal ball. The alarm and surprise not only flowed through the bond, but also Optimus's face had Abelia laughing. Optimus looked down at Abelia with a frown.
"You did that on purpose," Optimus stated.
Abelia laughed harder at that statement. Once she calmed down, she looked at Optimus with a grin.
"Gonna test you against distractions," Abelia smiled as she grabbed the last object, a rusty pipe. Optimus huffed but used his power to lift the rusty pipe. However, he still answered Abelia's question.
"Our sparks have a different feeling when we are sparked or come out of the Well of Sparks. It helps the Medbots, our version of Doctors and Nurses, decide which protoform is best for us. Protoforms are made differently, like DNA, but some are made for different sparks. Some protoforms are made to help weak sparks survive. Weak sparks happen when the Carrier is weakened while carrying the spark or when the spark is removed too soon. Some protoforms are made to withstand a strong spark. That happens when the spark is flowing with a lot of energy, sometimes too much will make a spark burn out. Some protoforms are made for regular sparks. Protoforms are built for the sparks, not the gender, but my Carrier wanted a mech so my protoform was altered for a mech body. Now, we can change our 'genders', but it's like...um..."
Optimus paused as he tried to find the right words and after looking them up, he found the right human words, "It's like growing a new skin. We need to get used to being a femme or mech that we changed from since we would need a full-grown protoform that's built for us, but the opposite of what we were."
"So, if you were to change from being a mech to a femme, you'll need to have a built for you and you would need to get used to your body again," Abelia asked.
Optimus nodded, using his finger to spin the rusty pipe in a circle. "Yes. So while we can choose the 'gender' of mech and femme, I guess you can say we're also genderless. We don't really care if one decides to change."
"Good that our kind is accepting," Abelia muttered, kicking the ground.
"Why wouldn't we be," Optimus asked as he started moving the rusty pipe slowly in different directions every couple of yards.
"Let's just say humans dislike what they don't understand. It's harder for humans to change their genders than Cybertronians can. And not everyone is accepting of it," Abelia told her brother.
Optimus left it alone, thinking about researching the topic later about what Abelia meant since she clearly didn't want to talk about it. Maybe even ask Will or Sarah. A question formed in Abelia's head, so she turned back to the sitting mech next to her.
"You mentioned extracting sparks from Carriers or the Well of Sparks. Is that how our kind is born, or made, or...oh heck," Abelia blushed as she said the last word, "Reproduce?" By the sparks, she hated saying that, but this was info that she needed to know no matter how much it turned her face red.
Optimus laughed, which made Abelia glare at him. Grumbling, Abelia rubbed her fingers together, creating a small zap of energy before sending it to Optimus's side. This made Optimus stop laughing as he jumped at the shock, Abelia chuckling at the retaliation.
Optimus huffed in amusement at her. Still, he answered Abelia's question, even though is was embarrassing for her to ask.
"When a bond grows powerful and strong between two or more Cybertronians, a pairing higher than two is not unheard of but hard to find, another spark is formed inside the Carrier or stronger bodied Sire. Carriers can hold the spark inside them, femmes have an easier time than the mechs, and Sires can hold sparks inside them for a short period of time or for emergencies. When the spark is strong enough, it's extracted from the Carrier, and put in a protoform body. That's one-way sparks are formed. Sometimes, sparks come out of the Well of Sparks, which Medbots and protoforms are always near. The sparks that come from the Well are given to Caretakers who run the Youth Centers or sometimes they are given to their primary Guardian or Guardians, their adopted parent or parents."
"Wow," Abelia said, actually amazed at this information before another question entered her head, "I understand the bond thing with the sparks, but how do sparks come out of the Well of Sparks?"
"We don't know why," Optimus answered her. Abelia hummed.
It was quiet for a good while after that. Optimus managed not to destroy the rusty pipe. Abelia thought back to her dream about Nightbird, the Ninja-bot who discover she was a Seer. She thought about it for a while before deciding that getting info on the Seer she dreamed about, or maybe had a vision of, is to ask the ones who would know about her.
"Optimus?"
"Yes?"
"Who's Nightbird?"
The sound of the pipe being crushed made Abelia jump. She stared at the crushed pipe before looking at Optimus, who was staring at her in shock.
"What? Did I say something wrong? Was I not supposed to say her name," Abelia asked.
"How do you know about her," Optimus asked her, using his power to drop the broken pipe to the ground.
Abelia hesitated, wondering if telling Optimus was a good idea but realized she already spoke too much not to say anything, "Three days ago, I woke up from a dream-like vision of the past. I didn't say anything because I didn't know what to make of it."
"Should have realized," Optimus muttered to himself before returning his attention to Abelia, "What did you see?"
"I was watching Nightbird with her clan. She was talking to her clanmates, other Ninjas. Sometime during the conversation, Nightbird yelled and held her head as she had a vision of her clanmates and herself getting killed. She warned her clanmates and they fought their attackers. After that happened, Nightbird was revealed to be a Seer. She..." Abelia stopped talking, looking down as she remembered Nightbird's tears at her suddenly sealed fate, a fate she clearly didn't want.
Abelia felt sad for Nightbird and started rubbing her arms. Optimus froze when he felt the sadness flowing through the bond.
"What's wrong, Abelia?"
Abelia stayed silent for the next couple of moments, her head bowed. Optimus waited, knowing that Abelia needed to calm herself first before she told him anything. It paid off waiting because Abelia spoke up then.
"Did the High Council force Seers to give up their lives once their power revealed itself," Abelia asked.
Optimus frowned, but he nodded, "Yeah. They did, they turned it into a law. Many tried fighting it for the Seers, even the Seers themselves, but they couldn't remove it. We destroyed their sensors during the war since they tracked Seers and we didn't want the Decepticons to get their hands on it."
"Well, make that one thing to keep destroyed and the law removed because I ain't going to have a Seer still alive or any Seer to-be be forced to give up their life and their family because the High Council says so," Abelia muttered.
"Abelia," Optimus rumbled, "What happened?"
Abelia lifted her head, tears in her eyes, "She was crying, Orion."
Stunned that Abelia used his former name and at the information she revealed, Optimus stayed silent in hopes Abelia spoke more. He wasn't disappointed.
"When Nightbird realized she was a Seer, she grew upset. Her clanmates realized this and wondered if they could hide it, but Nightbird said it was too late, that the High Council already knew. They then decided to talk to their Elders, to get Nightbird promoted to Cyber-Ninja before the High Council took her away. Nightbird said some parting words and bowed her head. She was crying. I don't think..." Abelia paused as she said the last words in a whisper, "I don't think she wanted to be a Seer."
Optimus hummed, "That explains it then."
"Explains what," Abelia asked, wiping her eyes as feelings of comfort through her from Optimus's side of the bond.
Instead of answering, Optimus held out his hand palm up to Abelia. Understanding what he meant without words, Abelia climbed on. Optimus brings his hand up to where his spark is, resting his hand above it. After that, Optimus answered Abelia's question.
"Nightbird never really followed the rules the High Council had set in place. She refused every protector assigned to her and protected herself with her training. She carried her shuriken on her back openly and fought back. She refused to let go of her Ninja ways for the sake of her Seers, instead staying loyal to her people. She was the one Seer no one wanted to cross paths with and dreaded seeing," Optimus explained.
"Why would they be afraid," Abelia asked, resting her head on her knees.
"You see events of the past, present, and future, but they all have something in common: Protection and Saving others, even yourself," Optimus explained, pausing to let that information sink in Abelia's head and waiting for her to nod in agreement, "Seers saw different things from the other. One could see love, another could see hardships. Some Seers could see the good things in life and other assassinations or battles. Each Seer was different than the others. There was even a Seer that could see other Seers."
"I wanted to save people and know how to protect them," Abelia nodded, thinking back to her visions and what they all led to, "I'm assuming this has to do with Nightbird?"
"Yes. You see, Nightbird's Seer abilities let her see bad things, like death, an attack, or something else," Optimus stated.
Abelia's eyes lit up, "Like seeing her clanmates and herself get killed."
Optimus nodded, "Exactly. It didn't earn her any love, but she didn't care. Whatever she saw, she spoke about it. Sometimes, when she saw someone, she had a vision and told them outright. Some of the things she saw were prevented, but some others weren't because she didn't reveal all information. When she was demanded to reveal everything in her visions, she only smirked while tossing her shuriken from hand to hand and said, "Bad things happen in life and there's no avoiding them, no matter what one sees. It's part of it. I never wanted to be a Seer and be ripped away from my life, I couldn't foresee that." Nightbird was known as the Seer of Bad Tiding, seeing her meant only dread and also the reason she was never honored."
"Honored," Abelia asked, lifting her head up from her knees, "What's that?"
"There's a large stone centerpiece near the Circuit. It has the name of every Seer, down right to the first. It goes into the ground when not in use, but when a new Seer is named, they are given an honored ceremony to touch the centerpiece and have their name and what they're the Seer of appear on the stone. Nightbird was never honored because everyone believed she didn't deserve to be on it."
"She couldn't help what she saw," Abelia growled, "They didn't have to like it. Nightbird just hated being a Seer because of what it took her from."
"Nightbird openly expressed her dislike of Prima, which others did not like. Many believe it was because Prima was the one gifting others Seer abilities. But something that made Nightbird untouchable despite others trying to get rid of her was her friendship with Quintessa and Alpha Trion," Optimus rumbled.
"She was friends with Quintessa and Alpha Trion," Abelia asked, sitting up straight at this information.
"Yes. It was the reason no one went after Nightbird because they didn't want to anger the Goddess of Death by attacking her only friend. And while she clearly was more friends with Quintessa, Nightbird liked Alpha Trion because they had an understanding and Alpha Trion listened to her."
"He told you that," Abelia smiled.
Optimus nodded, "That's all he told me, saying that he couldn't say anymore because of a reason Nightbird told him about. But when Quintessa got banished from Cybertron, Nightbird vanished after screaming at Prima and leaving with a parting: "It's going to be your fault!" No one knows what she saw and told Prima because Prima killed herself soon after, and Unicron and Primus, who were there, stopped showing up and stayed away."
"Nightbird vanished without a trace," Abelia hummed, looking down to think, "If Quintessa was her friend, then she could have followed her or Quintessa could've risked coming back to Cybertron for her."
Optimus shook his head, "No. When Quintessa was banished, Prima made it so Quintessa would be unable to set foot in Cybertron again. Quintessa would be filled with pain every moment she stayed on Cybertron. This forced Quintessa to steal a ship to leave the planet."
"Why would Prima do that," Abelia asked, shocked, remembering Prima from the first time she met her.
"Quintessa was killing other Cybertronians. Why? I don't know. The reason was lost."
Abelia hummed, "Where do you think Nightbird is?"
Optimus shrugged, "She could've seen something happen to her and left. She could've followed Quintessa. She could've changed her name to hide away from everyone in the places no one would look for her."
Optimus smiled at the last one, making Abelia frown at him with narrowed eyes. "The last one means something to you, doesn't it?"
Optimus sighed, "Yes. The name I was given when I was sparked was Optronix. I changed my name to Orion Pax after I left the job my Sire forced me to work for Alpha Trion to hide from my Sire. Alpha Trion knew I had changed my name to hide from my Sire and didn't ask what it was, using my new name only."
"I'm the only one you told," Abelia asked.
Optimus shook his head, "I only told one other besides you and that's Elita."
Optimus then got a message and stood up, raising a hand to allow Abelia on his shoulder. Once she climbed on, Optimus started walking to the house.
"Ratchet wants to speak to me and I think he wants to check on you again," Optimus stated when he saw Abelia's confused look.
Abelia groaned, "I might ask Jazz to teach me how to hide just to escape Ratchet. He just checked me."
Optimus chuckled, "If you manage that, then teach me as well."
Abelia laughed, "Sure."
"Abelia?"
"Hmm?"
"Thanks for helping me practice my power."
Abelia chuckled and sent her response through their bond instead of speaking it, "Anytime brother. Thank you as well."
That Night
Nightbird stood in front of the High Council, grinning despite the fact they were all glaring at her deeply. She snorted, her training ingrained so deep in her that she felt at ease in a situation others would panic and freak out in.
"Seer, your actions have resulted in fear and displeasure amongst the masses," one High Council member said.
Nightbird huffed, uncaring. Seeing none of the actions they were hoping for, the High Council frowned harder at Nightbird.
"Seer, you must cease continuing your actions and abandon your ways. You must give those who ask for visions from you what they want to hear and not keep things to yourself," another High Council member shouted.
Nightbird laughed, glaring back at the High Council. Due to her training, she senses two pairs of optics watching her. She could identify one pair, seeing Alpha Trion hidden behind a pillar, but didn't reveal the historian to the High Council. But she couldn't see the being the second pair of optics belonged to due to them being out of sight.
Smirking, Nightbird brought out her shuriken and tossed hand to hand, "Bad things happen in life and there's no avoiding them, no matter what one sees. It's part of it. I never wanted to be a Seer and be ripped away from my life, I couldn't foresee that."
Nightbird bowed her head and narrowed her yellow-gold optics at those she saw as enemies, her captors who took her from home.
"I'll never give up my teaching, much like how you all can't stop being corrupted afts. I'm a Seer, but I won't be one they want. They started calling me the Seer of Bad Tiding.."
"You will never be honored," they screamed at her.
Nightbird shrugged, putting her shuriken away with a hum.
"Fine by me. Good day."
Nightbird turned, walking out of the room, ignoring the calls, or rather orders to return. She was a Cyber-Ninja and nothing or no one would take that from her, no matter who they were.
She chuckled as walked away, but movement out of the corner of her optics got her attention. She gasped as she saw the second being who was watching her move away from the building at a rapid pace. Their back was towards her as they fled the scene, but Nightbird was not a fool and knew who was watching her.
"Quintessa?"
Abelia gasped awake from the dream-like vision she had. If her visions were based on Protection and Saving, then she wondered what seeing Nightbird was all about. It was then she realized that she wasn't in her bed and sat up straight, looking around wildly. Wherever she was, the sky was a mixture of white, blue, and silver and there was a layer of fog covering the ground from sight.
As she slowly stood up, she realized that she wasn't alone. She turned to see a woman dressed in a purple-blue suit and cloak with the hood up but not covering her face, black boots, a metal band around her forehead, brown hair, and blue eyes.
Abelia tensed, but the woman held up a hand. "Be calm, I am not an enemy."
Abelia slowed untensed and asked the woman, "Who are you?"
"I go by many names, but some call me the First Seer."
Abelia relaxed imminently at that. "First Seer? Then you're a Cybertronian?"
First Seer nodded, "Yes. I choose this form to speak to you in this dreamscape."
Abelia looked around, "Can we all do this?"
First Seer shook her head, "No. Only I can. I choose Seers based on what I see and I can sense them. There are so few of us left that sensing a new Seer left quite a shock on me. I'm used to feeling so little."
"So Prima didn't create the Seers," Abelia stated, looking back at First Seer.
First Seer frowned, displeasure clear on her face as she crossed her arms, "No, how our kind thought of that is beyond me. To think they forgot a lot about me."
"I don't think some had a chose," Abelia admitted, "With the war going on, history was destroyed."
"War," First Seer asked, alarmed, "There's a war?"
Abelia was surprised, "You don't know?"
"No, I left Cybertron eons ago. There's a war going on," First Seer asked, still surprised.
"The war has been going on for a long time. All of Cybertron has been turned into a battleground. The Decepticons, who want to control everything, and the Autobots, who want to save others and live in peace. There was a time each side wanted the same thing, but went about it differently," Abelia told her.
"What about the Gods and Goddesses," First Seer asked, anger clear on her face as she started pacing, "What about the Seers? Is this why I felt many of them dying? Surly some Seers could have seen this happening, like Nightbird. She sees events like this, didn't anyone listen to her?"
"Prima killed herself after she banished her sister and Unicron and Primus stopped showing up. Nightbird vanished and no one knows where she is."
First Seer gasped in horror, "Prima killed herself? Quintessa banished? Unicron and Primus left? Nightbird...vanished?"
Abelia felt like a jerk as she watched the First Seer tear herself apart at this information. It looked like her entire world was torn apart. Desperate, Abelia knew she had to get her mind off this info.
"It made sense to me, you know," Abelia said, "If Prima really was the one gifting Seers their powers, why couldn't she take away Nightbirds, who clearly didn't want to be one? Someone else gave her powers of a Seer."
First Seer chuckled, "I choose Nightbird because she was different. She may not want to be a Seer, but her way of life was different as was her thinking. She was magnanimous, generous or forgiving to those who deserved it, especially toward a rival or less powerful person. She never held if against me that I choose her, even if she did dislike it. But I didn't choose you. You are a surprise."
"I'm only half Cybertronian and the other half of me is human, but I do know that the Cybertronian part of me came first," Abelia told First Seer.
First Seer hummed, "Then whoever sparked you carried my gift in them through their spark to you."
"Do you know you," Abelia asked, lighting up. Her face fell when First Seer shook her head.
"No. Sorry. I only see Seers when they appear for the first time. What are your visions based on, exactly?"
"Protecting and saving others," Abelia admitted.
"Abelia, wake up."
"Will," Abelia asked at the soldier's voice, looking around. The scenery around them was disappearing.
"Your family needs you to wake up," First Seer stated, "See ya later sometime."
"Bye. Sorry for telling you about the war," Abelia said.
First Seer smiled sadly, "Thanks for telling me even though it was scarp."
Abelia closed her eyes and grinned, "Watch your words."
Abelia's Bedroom
Abelia woke up to Will shaking her.
"What," Abelia asked, silently wondering if she was going to deal with being woken up during the night or have visions in her sleep for the rest of her life.
"We need to head to base. Sarah and Annabelle are coming, but they're going to stay at the base. We are needed elsewhere."
"What's happening," Abelia asked.
Will grinned, "New Autobots are landing. They connected Optimus minutes ago. He told me and I called Keller. They land in a couple of hours. If we leave now, we can be there when they land."
Abelia let that information enter her head as a grin appeared on her face.
New Autobots were arriving.
