Hello my readers! Sorry about the hiatus! Here is the full brand new chapter of The Crow Next Door. I hope you enjoy!

Evie knew what event would immediately follow the moment Jax removed the final article of clothing from her body.

Go ahead, guess.

Yup, you are correct.

For those who didn't guess correctly, that's just fine.

The correct answer will be revealed to you momentarily.

The event that followed: an extensive, passionate, toe curling, celebratory, love making session.

Once their tiresome bodies could go no further, both Evie and Jax swathed themselves in the several layers that consisted of sheets and blankets.

She shifted her body closer to him, resting her head on the right side of his chest.

In response, Jax slid his left ringed hand down Evie's curvious body, causing a trail of goosebumps to form on her body.

His traveling hand finally settled against the small of her back, causing Evie to smile at him.

Jax smiled back, pressing his calloused fingertips into her skin for her come closer to him.

She quickly caught on, lifting her head off of his firm pec, moving her body upwards to meet her man halfway for a kiss.

She placed her lips against his, causing him to release a feral moan that built up deep within his throat.

His large hands burrowed into her hair and began to gently tug at her curly locks.

Evie's core started to violently pulsate to the point where it was making her go straight up dizzy.

She quickly straddled his waist, breaking their liplock to give his neck some attention.

"You're becoming as insatiable as me, darlin'," he breathed in her ear as his hands let go of her hair to roam down her silky back.

"I know. I think it's the hormones," she replied, sitting up on his waist.

"Something tells me that I'm really gonna enjoy the hormones."

Jax carefully flipped her onto her back, settling himself between her already spread legs.

"Just promise me one thing."

"Sure."

"Try and keep the screaming to a minimum, darlin'. I really don't want a repeat of last night with the boys bustin' into our room, wondering why daddy has mommy propped up on all fours and roughly pulling on her hair, all the while being completely naked."

"It's all your fault, you know. You were just hittin' the right spot a little too well last night," she teased.

"Even though that was the case, that's a promise I'd be more than happy to keep," Evie continued.

"You never did tell me what you said to them."

"Honestly, I believe , no, I know for a fact that I blacked out. Whatever I did say seemed to work because they went back to sleep shortly after. We shall see if that's still the case when they wake up."

"Good point," he smiled before giving her a knee-buckling kiss.

Evie's hands slid up his perfect back, feeling the faint scratches she left behind last night.

Just as Jax was ready to thrust his erect cock into Evie, the doorbell rang.

"Jax, there's someone at the door."

"I didn't hear anything," he lied as he brought his mouth to the right side of her neck.

"I did. I'll go and see who it is," she suggested, bringing her hands to his chest to move him off of her.

"No, no, I'll get it," Jax stated, yanking off the sheets from his body with frustration.

"Don't worry handsome, we'll pick up right where we left off at when you come back," she replied as she watched him get dressed in only a pair of boxers and baggy grey sweatpants.

The doorbell was rung one more time before Jax was able to open the front door.

On the other side stood an older black woman who contained some of Evie's facial features the longer he looked at her.

"Hi, how can I help you?", Jax asked.

The woman took in Jax's beautiful god like features before she answered.

"Ah, so you must be Jax. I heard a lot about you.. Well, from my son's point of view anyway. I'm Cheryl Roosevelt, Evie's mother."

The longer Evie laid in bed alone, the stronger the pulsating built up between her quivering thighs.

Not being able to wait a second longer, she tore the sheets and blankets from her yearning body and got out of bed.

She quickly made her way to the closed bedroom door, retrieving her white robe that was hanging from the back of it.

Evie slid the robe over her naked body, quickly tying the sash around her slim waist into an oversized knot.

Without giving herself a brief once over in the dresser mirror, she opened the door and paraded down the hallway.

"Jackson Teller, what is taking you so long? The headboard should be rattlin' against the wall right about no.."

Evie immediately stopped talking, wishing it was humanly possible to swallow her tongue.

At the end of the hallway stood her mother.

Her fucking mother.

"M..m..mom, what are you doing here?", she asked nervously as she ran her hand through her curly locks, taking a side step to the left to hide herself behind Jax.

"Why do you think I'm here, sweetheart?"

Evie stepped out from behind her man to stand directly in front of her mother.

"Eli called you."

"Eli called me, but he didn't ask me to come out here. I made that decision on my own since I haven't heard from you in weeks."

Evie's look of horror shifted into a look of guilt.

"I'm so unbeliveably sorry about that, mom. It's just a lot has taken place over the course of the past few weeks and you can say I was completely and utterly distracted."

Once her authentic apology was presented aloud, she went in and gave Cheryl a firm embrace which she reciprocated.

Cheryl locked eyes with Jax, causing him to feel even more uncomfortable.

"Uh, I'll let you two catch up. I'm gonna go get ready for the day."

Evie pulled away from her mom, recieving a quick kiss on the lips from Jax.

"I hope you're able to carve out some time for me today, Jackson. I would like to get to know the man who's been shacking up with my daughter."

"Absolutely," his voice cracked.

She never thought she would see the day where her man's voice would become this compromised.

But, here they are.

He excused himself thereafter, retreating to their shared bedroom, leaving the two women alone.

"Would you like some coffee?", Evie asked.

"I thought you'd never ask," she smiled, allowing her daughter to lead the way to the kitchen.

Cheryl set her purse down onto the table, taking a seat in the closest chair as Evie placed a mug in front of her.

"You're not having any, Evie?"

"No, I'm cutting back," she lied.

Cheryl froze as she started to fit the pieces that were displayed in front of her together.

"Coffee is your favorite beverage, next to wine of course. The only time you severed ties from it was when you were pregnant with Andre. You're pregnant again, aren't you?"

Evie finished pouring fresh coffee grains in the white filter before turning around to look her mother in the eyes.

"Yeah, I am."

"Is that why you're living under the same roof already? Because you got pregnant?"

"No mom, we made the decision to move in together before I found out I had a bun in the oven."

Cheryl nodded, falling silent and adverted her eyes to her empty coffee mug.

"Mom?"

She looked up at her daughter.

"Yeah baby?"

"Where do you land with all of this?"

"I'm happy for you, Eve, I really am. You know how much I love children, so finding out that I'm gonna have not one, but two grandchildren in the upcoming months. I'm thrilled."

"Actually, you'll have four altogether."

"Four? Who's having twins?"

"Neither of us are. Well, that we know of. Jax has a son who is Andre's age. I think of him as my own, and I hope you can eventually do the same."

"You know I can," she reassured her.

"Can I be honest?"

"Of course."

Once the pot was filled with freshly brewed coffee, she removed it from the holder and walked over to the kitchen table, filling the mug up to the rim.

"From what you just said, it almost... actually it definitely sounds rehearsed rather than genuwine."

"That's because I don't know Jax, honey. I only know what your brother has told me about him. I still want to get to know him myself before I make my decision on where I stand. You know that."

"I do. It's just Eli is so against us being together, I wouldn't be surprised if he already convinced you to follow suit," she stated as she returned the coffee pot back to its original home before leaning up against the edge of the counter, crossing her arms in front of her chest.

Dressed and ready for the day, Jax entered the kitchen, zipping up his dark blue oversized sweatshirt.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt."

"No interruption whatsoever," Cheryl replied with a smile.

"Would you like some coffee?", Evie offered.

"No thanks, darlin'. I should get going. Cheryl, do you have an idea on what time you'd like to get together today?", he asked.

"On my way here, I passed the San Celemente Pier. I'll meet you there at 2:00."

"I'll be there. It was nice meeting you even if I was barely wearing any clothes."

"You too," Cheryl chuckled before taking another sip of her coffee.

He turned toward Evie, winding his built arms around her waist.

She smiled, coiling her arms around his neck while her fingertips played with the ends of his damp growing hair.

He met her half way due to her having to stand on the tops of her toes, giving her a subtle yet passionate kiss.

"See you later."

"Yes you will," she smiled, giving him one more peck on the lips.

He smiled, reluctantly pulling away from his old lady.

Before he departed from the kitchen, he turned his head to look at Evie.

"Eve?"

"Yeah baby?"

"I love you."

She automatically smiled as if it was the first time she was hearing those words leave his mouth.

"I love you too."

As Jax approached Cheryl, he shoved his riding gloves in the back of his baggy jeans, giving her a friendly smile.

She lifted her right wrist, glancing at her watch.

1:57 pm.

"You're early," she pointed out.

"It's better to be early than late," he replied.

"I couldn't agree more. Oh, I got you this."

Cheryl handed Jax a medium sized styrofoam cup.

"I hope you like Cola. I need you to stay nice and hydrated while you answer any and every question I have in store for you."

He brought the straw to his lips, taking a sip of the ice cold beverage.

"I do. Thanks."

"You're welcome."

He stretched out his arm, signaling her to begin walking first.

"So, what made you choose the pier instead of a resturant?"

"You don't have to make as much eye contact and I've come to find that walking and talking can be far more comfortable which is what I want, and I'm sure you do as well. Wait, I thought I was supposed to be asking you the questions," she teased.

"I wanted to beat you to it."

After work, Evie wanted to stop by Rita's and Eli's place to share the type of morning she experienced with her sister-in-law.

She pulled up to their home, discovering an ambulance and multiple police cars parked out front.

Without taking her keys out of the ignition, Evie got out of the car and sprinted to the open front door, bobbing and weaving from each and every one of the policemens' grip.

"Rita! Eli!," she yelled, as she entered the destroyed home.

Before she could go any further, The paramedics wheeled her injured sister-in-law out of the bedroom she shares with her brother.

Evie's eyes immediately welled up with tears as she attached herself to Rita's side.

Her eyes scanned her body, discovering a bleeding bullet wound located in her stomach.

That sight alone caused her own stomach to reel in pain and anguish.

The tears that formed in her eyes rolled down her face.

She took her hand in her own, going temporarily deaf the moment the attention was taken away from Rita and placed onto her.

Evie couldn't and didn't feel the need to reply.

All that mattered was Rita's and her godchild's well being.

Dressed in his casual wear, Eli was at the nurses' station, filling out the neverending paperwork that resulted from this nightmare.

Evie and Cheryl both sat on each side of Rita, holding her motionless hands, listening to the sound of the heart monitor a few feet from the bed.

Cheryl's eyes shifted from Rita and onto Evie, who stared at Rita's blanketed torso.

"Evie? Sweetheart?'

She finally blinked and gave her mother her full attention.

"Hmm?"

"What's on your mind? Besides the obvious?"

Before she could answer, she directed her attention to the hallway, discovering Jax standing right outside the room.

"I'll be right back, mom."

Cheryl nodded, holding Rita's hand tighter.

Evie quickly rose to her feet, making her way into the hall.

She took Jax's hand, pulling him with her until they were around the corner and out of Eli's sight.

"How'd you find out about Rita?"

"I went to my mom's to pick up the boys and she told me what happened. I've tried calling you, babe."

"Shit, I'm sorry. I must've left my phone in the car. I'm sorry," she replied, rubbing her forehead.

"It's okay. Is she gonna pull through? What about the baby?"

"She is going to be okay. The baby.. She lost the baby," she cried, winding her arms around him, sobbing into his sweatshirt, breathing in the faint scent of his cologne.

If she had the chance to answer her mother's question about what else was weighing heavy on her mind, she would have to say guilt.

Rita and Eli have been trying for over a year to concieve a child and this is what happens.

The moment she no longer uses any source of birth control, she ends up pregnant with her second child.

It just wasn't fair.

Her and Rita were supposed to have babies together.

"Jesus Christ. How's Eli holdin' up?", he asked as he rubbed her back to comfort her, resting his chin atop of her head.

" Like you'd expect. It's gonna be a late one for me."

His arms fell away from her body.

"Me too. I'll wait with you," he stated, ready to head to the hospital room, causing Evie to take hold of his hand with both of her own to prevent him from pressing on any further.

"I don't think that's a good idea, Jax. Eli is ready to pin this on you and the club. If you thought his reaction about us being together was bad, imagine how he'll be now. The level of anger built up within him could level an entire city. I think it's best if you distance yourself from this, baby."

Jax did his best to disguise the hurt reflecting in his bright blue eyes, but it was no use.

"Okay. I'll hide out in the chapel on the first floor if you need me."

"Jax, that's.."

"I'll go and keep my distance darlin', but not too far. Not from you."
