Welcome to Chapter 5! Man, that was quick.
Nothing to say other than Answering Review time!
nexusplayer: But of course, I know you. And since you offer, I will take the best drink you have.
SomeoneHopeful34: Once again, I'm blessed by your deep loreing of a story I just started and I enjoy how deep you are going. I'm thankful you like my Interlude.
Super heavy weapons guy: Thank you, my main Chad in TF2. Hopefully, we will meet at the arena and have time to see how many people can outsmart bullets.
Ring of Heave99: Well, to answer both reviews, I thank you for your comment and that you're liking the story so far.
And done! Now, let's start this chapter!
(Later, 9:50)
"Hey there! You're the night guard, right?"
Ellis blinks at seeing a young man in his late 20 right in front of the building. He was slightly bigger than him, by one or two inches. He sported the same outfit he was given; with the name tag 'Day Guard' as an addition. He was blonde-haired, punk-style, with a piercing on his nose. He wasn't buff, but he sure ain't lanky. "Johnny Metonks, we talk on the phone." He introduced himself.
"R-Right." Ellis nodded. "I'm the night guard, Ellis. I…presume that Mr. Fazbear informed you?"
"Yep! Come, let me show you what to do." Johnny motioned for him to follow as they went inside the pizzeria. "I really must say, it's good to have you here. You have no idea how tiring it was to stay awake all day and night. I mean, I have no problem with the extra hours, but there is so much my body can handle before I crumble over exhaustion."
Ellis nodded, knowing fully well that the body needs to rest, especially when every night one needs to go back to a place where he is threatened to be killed through forceful methods.
"I'm just glad I don't have to close my doors every time the robots peek in my office. Good God, it would have been creepy if they talked back to me."
Johnny sounded like he was joking around, which made Ellis raise an eyebrow in confusion. "What? They didn't talk to you?"
The blonde shook his head. "Thankfully, it wasn't that kind of trauma. Can you imagine them just coming to the office and speaking with their voice box robotically? Dear heaven, I might need to see a therapist."
"...So about the recording-"
"Yeah. Sorry about that." Johnny chuckled embarrassingly. "I usually have this tendency to make a small joke, though the robots visiting would be a scare. Boss chewed me hard on that."
"...Not funny." Ellis replied, somehow managing to hide his blue feeling. "Just, not funny." ('Okay. Either I did eat a cocaine lazed pizza, heavy amount, or whatever happened yesterday…didn't happen at all and I somehow was dream walking.') "So…what do I have to do? I mean, janitor stuff?"
"Ah, glad you asked! See here…"
(Later, 10:20 PM)
Ellis raised an eyebrow at the checklist that was in his office. While still knowing what Johnny has told him, he receives a reminder to make sure that everything is to be investigated and cleaned up.
His eyebrow-raising, however, wasn't about the chores nor Johnny's casual pat of good luck as he left.
It was a simple one: "How the fuck did a janitor managed to clean a kitchen sink with a toothbrush only?" No joking, there was an 'IMPORTANT!' stamp right in there. "Better yet, why is it a toothbrush? Does it have teeth I don't know about?" He turned to the desk, and his jaw properly fell at seeing the size of the object. "How small are those pipes?"
"Very small."
Ellis yelped and jumped forward, looking back to see Fredina, still in her day form. "Hello, Ellis. So good to have you back. A bit early than yesterday, I must say."
"Oh…Hey." Ellis awkwardly answered. "Y-Yeah. Got a call from the boss asking for a bit of help after the janitor jumped ship."
"Oh yeah. Good old Max." Fredina sighs, "Shame he left. But, I did hear him saying he had to return to face some past; something about a Toy Factory and missing employees."
"Oh…okay." Ellis wisely chooses to ignore the 'missing' part of the sentence. "So, I better start doing this."
"Do you need help?" Fredina asked, shocking Ellis with the offer.
"You can? I mean, should you?" He asked, concerned about her getting damaged in one of the tasks.
"We are capable of handling such easy tasks." Fredina explained, in pride. "After all, we had to when our janitor wasn't around."
"...Well, I…must admit that alone I will not be able to do this quickly." Ellis confessed, knowing fully that he will take a long time to finish. "But are you sure? I wouldn't want something to happen to you because of certain reasons."
Fredina smiles, seeing what he was saying, considering that she and the rest are part of why the pizzeria is successful. Anything happens to them, on the night, the responsibility will be on him.
Even if he was saying it to not lose his job, it was cute that he cared about them.
"Don't worry. Once again, our bodies are durable, we can hold up to twenty tons." Fredina confessed.
"...Okay." Ellis awkwardly replied. "So…let me just change and we can start." Ellis said as he placed his backpack down and took his uniform out. "I'll be…quick." He said as he left the bathroom.
"Alright." Fredina waved him away…before turning to his open backpack. "Oops. He left it open, I should probably close it before anything falls from inside-"
"...It's Me…"
Fredina stops in her tracks, feeling her metallic spine crackle. Looking around the office, it was strange for her to hear something very…small and statical. Her eyes turned black with white dots as she looks around the office. ('Hmm…No sign of a heat signature close by. Strange, am I suffering a malfunction? Or...nah!') She wondered at the hard possibility. Humming in suspicion, she went back to close the backpack…
Only to find it already closed.
"Eh?" Fredina blinks in shock at it. She never even got close to the object, right?
"Alright, I'm back." Ellis returns, dressed in his guard office. "So I was thinking…Hello?" He blinks when he notices the bear's frozen state.
"Huh?" Fredina blinked back to reality and quickly answered. "Ah, right. Sorry about that, I think I'm having some sort of failure in my hearing system."
"...Are you sure-" Ellis was unsure if the girl should be helping him.
"Totally perfect!" Fredina eagerly replied. "Besides, you can take me to Parts Services later to check."
"...Okay. I won't question your logic since you are technically my superior." Ellis said with a sweat drop. "So…How about we start with your stage?"
"Sounds wonderful."
(10:40, Main Room, Stage)
"Okay. So I need to change the lightbulbs of the spotlights." Ellis explained as he was holding a bag with new bulbs and looking up. "I will need the stepladder, can you get it?" Fredina nodded as she went to get it. A few seconds later, she returned with the ladder in her hand. "Thanks." Ellis thanked her as she put it down and opened it.
"You're welcome." Fredina said as took the bag of bulbs from his hand as she began to climb, noticing him going at a steady pace. "So Ellis, we didn't get a chance yesterday, albeit by slight misinformation, why don't we talk a bit?"
"Uh, sure." Ellis, not seeing anything wrong with small talk, agreed. "So, what do you wish to know?"
"Well, we can start with a bit of ourselves. Of course, at your choice."
Ellis reached the top and positioned himself before he began to take out the bulb with his left hand. "Well, I said it before but I just came out of school and began to look for a job to pay my rent."
"That you did." Fredina said while holding the stairs so he doesn't fall. "It's a complex that your Uncle has, correct?" Ellis nodded as he took out the bulb and gave it to Fredina, who had removed the replacement and switched it.
"Yeah. Apparently, he has always wanted to have a large complex in the community for people who need a ceiling." Ellis said as he began to replace the bulb. "Of course, he does it to help, but he can be a real pain. He has this rule about being honest and truthful in a business, while having the understanding to show no weak heart."
"So he is willing to help out and maintain image as long as everyone follows the rules." Fredina summarizes.
"Yeah. Make no mistake." Ellis began to climb down. "He doesn't enjoy getting mad, but if they aren't going to take him seriously, he'll show you why you should." He chuckled. "I remember one time when this guy, trying to weasel the rent down a bit. My uncle simply stared at him, let out a sigh and asked me to go and grab Daisy."
"Daisy?" Fredina asked.
"His pump shotgun." Ellis explained. "And let me tell you, I have never in my life seen a man run so fast, I witnessed his afterimage crumble in seconds."
"Wow. That fast?" Fredina was impressed.
"Yep. That fast." Ellis moved to the next light. "Anyways…what about you?" He asked as he began to climb. "What is it like to be…all this?" He motioned to the building.
"Well, I must admit. It was…a scary feeling." Fredina said.
"Really now?" Ellis was surprised.
"Don't get me wrong, I am appreciating the opportunity to walk and speak my mind without restrictions. But this sudden development had us panicking. It was…very scary to know why we just got intelligence." Fredina said as she remembered back on that day, almost hyperventilating as to why she could act more human, along with the others. "Thankfully, we managed to cool down and process everything calming and soon, we found ourselves liking to move and talk…until, you know, the discovery of our new forms."
Ellis hummed, understanding everything she had said. ('I think there was an anime that was like that. Something about a ghost in a shell, I believe.') "Well, just glad you managed to maintain calm. One who panics is always the first one to die faster."
"Is that what humans say on these days?" Fredina asked.
"Trust me, right now, memes and music are going around."
"Music?!" He almost fell off the stairs at her outburst, surprised at seeing her eyes glowing in excitement.
"I…take you like music?" Ellis asked as he climbed down and moved to the next spotlight.
"I love it!" Fredina happily sighs, clapping her hands together as having a mesmerizing look. "I can't tell if it's programming of mine, but I just love music and dancing. It's like I was meant to be a dancer." To make that statement true, Fredina skipped back and started to dance.
('Wow. She's good.') Ellis, already at the top of the stairs, didn't know much about dancing unless you count from movies, but even he could tell that the girl enjoyed it and has good movements. She even had the sparkles of light coming out of her like special effects- ('Wow, they look so real…') The light began to intensify more and Fredina's body began to morph. ('Oh shit! They are real!') Realization hit him as her robotic figure changed into her buxom night form.
Shocked by it, Ellis peek at the clock, seeing that it was 11 PM. He repeatedly looks between the watch and Fredina in confusion.
"It always feels like a breath of life every time I move my body." Fredina sighs in satisfaction as she turns to Ellis, confused at his staring. "What?"
"Uhm…Fredina, not to sound suspicious, but, you said you all change form at midnight, aka 12, right?" Ellis asked.
"Yeah? Why?" Fredina raised an eyebrow, only to be answered by Ellis to motion with his eyes at her. She looked at herself and felt surprised that her figure had changed. "What the? Is it already twelve?"
"N-No." Ellis pointed at the clock. "It's starting to be eleven."
Fredina widened her eyes. "What? But that's impossible! We all should change-Hold on, let me try to-" She was going to see if the girls had also changed, but her ranting came to a halt when she saw something horrible.
"What are you-" Ellis wanted to ask, but before he knew it-
*Boom!*
"Ugh?!" For no reason he knew, the bulb in the spotlight he was next to broke, making a small flash bang. The blindness made Ellis stagger back and began to lose balance, "Oh shit!"
His left hand couldn't reach the stepladder and his body began to fall back.
…
…
…
But he never met the floor.
"Fweeh! That sure was close!" Fredina breathed in relief.
Ellis blink back to view himself being held in an embrace by the tall woman. His mind finally processed that he was now shorter than her and his head was right between her breasts, his face going tomato.
"You alright, Ellis?" Fredina asked, both from the fall and the fact she began to feel extreme heat in him.
"Y-Yeah." Ellis replied. "T-Thanks for the save."
"Your welcome." She replied as she let him down and focused on the spotlight, glaring at it.
Just why did she do that?
"W-What happened?" Ellis, after calming down, asked. "Why did the spotlight blow up? Mr. Fazbear said that the building had been fixed up properly."
"I…cannot say." Fredina spoke back, "...Have you finished with the spotlights?"
"Uhm, no. I still have two more." Ellis said.
"...Okay. Why don't you go and start the next task and I'll finish here." She said with a comforting smile. "I think it is for the best that you don't get a surprise like that."
Ellis, feeling a bit hurt about her statement, not that she can blame her for it, nodded in acceptance. "Yeah. If it's only that, I think I can leave it to you. Just…be careful at it, I don't want you getting a short circuit by accident." He said in concern.
Fredina blushed a little at his words and nodded. "Don't worry, I'm going to need a lot more to hurt my body." She patted his shoulder and began to shoot him away. "Now, run alone. I'll catch up."
"Fine." Ellis simply did as she asked and began to leave, peeking behind for a moment before exiting completely.
Fredina sighs in relief. "At least he is making sure I don't get hurt." That is a rise on the 'good side' of her, even though she could tell he won't go that far.
Sensing he was far away, Fredina's eyes changed to black orbs with white dots with a frown. "Alright. Explain yourself." She suddenly said to no one…
Until a shadowy figure emerged behind her.
She turned to look at the figure, which was a fuzzy view to the camera. "Well? I know you are in charge of keeping an eye on everything and step in if things get out of hand for us, but was that necessary? You could have hurt him."
"..."
"What do you mean it was a test? That smirk you had was not trustworthy. Did you gain something from him?"
"..."
"Not him? What are you-Were you testing me?"
"..."
"Unbelievable." Fredina massaged her forehead. "You could have put his life in danger for no reason. I just help him because he's been nice right now; he's still a child!"
"..."
"Sure. Sure. Still seeing if he is nice, but blowing a bulb right in his face? Is there something he did to you to make you angry?"
"...?"
"Nothing? Then why would…"
"..."
"...No way." Fredina felt shocked, a thought going through her head. "You…think he is-"
"...!"
"...Wait. If he is…why would you do this?"
"..."
"...Help him? With what?"
"..."
"Oh…that explains his reaction to us."
"..."
"I should be careful with what I say? And keep an eye on him? Why?"
"..."
"...Hold on. Now that you mention it, he hasn't…!" Realization hit Fredina, covering her mouth. "Oh God…I-I need to find him!" She spun to leave, but not before looking back one more time. "Listen, I know you're just doing your job, but don't try that again for fun. Perhaps it is not much for you, but we need a night guard. Please, keep your mischievous to yourself. Okay?" She didn't wait for an answer as she left.
Back in the room, the camera saw nothing present, but one could hear a chilling giggle, a childish chilling one.
(Back with Ellis)
Walking down the hallway, Ellis sported a sour expression. "Look at that, once again, almost died by your own mistake." He spoke to himself, looking down at his right arm. "How pathetic, don't you think? You're lucky that I accept that until a miracle happens to me, I need to drop my masculinity down far."
Knowing that glaring at it forever won't do any change, he sighs and looks at the list, checking off changing lights of the list:
{X} Change light bulbs in Main Stage
{ } Restock prizes
{ } Clean Kitchen (IMPORTANT: Use the specific toothbrush on the sink)
{ } Adjust props in Pirate Cove and clean Fexa's room
"Alright, where do I go next?"
Forgot to remind you in the last chapters, but I have a Patron for anyone who would like to help me a little. See you next chapter!
