There was only one good thing about being underground: underground caves with tunnels that lead to an underground hot spring!
Sesshomaru noted her happy bust of energy; at least she liked to be clean.
"Come, we will need to feed your human friends."
She nodded and followed him out and back up. She felt better once they were on the main floor; again, he took note of it.
The light never did like being covered by the dark, but darkness could be so good, but she was too damn virgin to know that. Of course, he knew, without a doubt, that he could not keep her underground. That room was more protection for everyone else, not for him or his mother. When his father brought Inuyasha's mother here, his mother would lock herself down there. Not because she was angry but because her demonic nature would demand it; she did it because she did care.
His father never marked either women; why, he never knew.
The home was still being handled by many of the same demons who handled it under his father, and while he had not been back in some time, he knew most of them. Lucky for his new mate and her friends, they were used to humans and knew how to run the place accordingly; he need not say anything.
Funny how it all seemed normal now. His father's curse lived on, he was happy about that Sesshomaru was sure. Perhaps this was payback, like father-like sons? Why though?
He still didn't understand why any demon would want a human over another demon. Tainted blood, no power, limited human ability, immaturity, less attractive, this list went on and let us not forget the outcome of coupling, halfbreeds.
He looked at Kagome from her place at the table where they now shared tea and ate; he stood at the window, not mingling, not they were doing much talking.
As far as humans went, she was fair. Dark hair that was not straight or thin, green eyes, which was odd; they were nice enough; she was short but not overly so, but again, everyone was short compared to him; he was pushing 6'2 where was more like 5'3, his brother was 5'10, Sesshomaru was taller than his father before him.
One thing was for sure: she had to rid herself of that stupid, unbecoming outfit she seemed so fond of. She no longer wore the school uniform, if he so remembered it being called, but what she wore now was similar. She had decent legs, he guessed, not that he spent much time looking, and when he grabbed her, he felt she had hips.
He looked away when she looked up. For a moment, he wondered, and only because he was bored, what she thought of him.
"We have three days to prepare," He said; everyone, looked at him,
He didn't look back,
"Many will come; tradition will call for many things,"
"Hasn't tradition already been broken?" Kagome asked,
"Not to them," He looked back at her. "Just because we bent the rules does not mean we will break the rest."
Sango and Miroku looked at one another in worry; Sesshomaru didn't miss it.
"If you wish to stay to see her through, you will need to make yourself useful." He looked away again, he wasn't bending, she needed help.
"They won't really think her to carry tradition, will they, her not being a demon and all, do they?" Sango asked,
"It would seem that they do not care." He had great suspicion of these men.
Kagome looked at Sango. "I'll stay, Kagome."
"Me too," Miroku said. "As a silent adviser, of course."
That was fine with him,
"Kh," Inuyasha stood, "I ain't staying to watch this."
Kagome looked confused,
"You don't have to do all this dumb shit, Sesshomaru; you're the Lord of this land; tell them to fuck off."
"Tell me, Inuyasha, do you kiss her with that mouth?"
"Oi, what the hell do you know about kissing anyway?" He shouted,
Kagome blushed and prayed he didn't tease Inuyasha,
"A question for my mate, I would think." Of course, he was.
Inuyasha quickly turned to Kagome, as did everyone else,
She just sat there; what was she to say?
"A little fast, don't you think!" Inuyasha said darkly.
Kagome stood. "SIT!"
Inuyasha crashed through the table, and then Kagome glared at Sesshomaru, who was about to deal with the halfbreed himself.
"Don't tease him and keep me out of your dumb fights, Sesshomaru; I am not a toy!"
She quickly ran from the room, and Sango followed.
Inuyasha picked himself up with no help from anyone else,
"I won't stay here and watch what you're about to put her through,"
"I will not stop you," Sesshomaru said,
"Inuyasha," Miroku spoke,
"No, I won't; I can't."
"She will need all of us,"
"There is nothing I can do for her now, and you know it," He said darkly,
Kikyo stood. "Perhaps we should make our own way; if Kagome needs you, the monk will send for us."
Miroku bowed his head in agreement,
Inuyasha looked. "You better tell her; he will only speak riddles she won't understand,"
With that, Inuyasha left, leaving the monk and demon alone.
"Well, that went well," Miroku stated; he then looked at the demon. "Are you going to tell her, or should I?"
Sesshomaru didn't reply,
"Given the nature, It would probably be better if I told her; however, as it is intimate, you should."
"I will give her the details, Monk; no need to worry." He didn't lie, he would, but he was not going spill every detail; one thing he did like about the girl was her reaction to things, and if he had to go through all this damn hell, at least he would make sport of it.
Miroku eyed the demon Lord, not fully trusting but not so daring to question him. "I won't question you, Lord Sesshomaru, but please, as her friend and someone who does care, I caution you, her pain is far worse than her anger, of that I am sure."
He stood, bowed, and left the demon Lord to his own device.
