Chapter Two

Holt watched in astonishment as Grimes walked out of the alley. "I'm not done talking, Captain!" he hollered.

The 99 captain then turned his attention to Amy, who was coming away from the wall. The sergeant looked shaken, but when she saw the 99 captain looking at her, she quickly composed herself.

"Amy, are you okay?" asked Holt.

"Y-yeah, why wouldn't I be?" lied Amy, "M-me and Captain Grimes were just talking."

"You're not fine," pointed out Holt, "I was still near the alleyway when I overheard yours and Grimes' conversation. I went to the alleyway and I saw him pinch your bottom."

"So, you didn't think Grimes would do that?" asked Amy curiously.

"No, of course I didn't replied Holt, "I am very shocked at his behaviour. I'm going to ask again: is there something that I should know about, or should have known about, since that is the correct phrase in this context."

Amy simply sighed. "I lied," she said quietly, "I lied to you when I said that everything was fine between me and Grimes and I'm sorry."

"Apology accepted," said the 99 captain, "Now would you mind telling me what happened between you and Grimes? I also noticed that Peralta looked ready to punch him."

"Yeah, he really did," replied Amy, "Captain Grimes tried kissing me when I made detective. He told me that he felt he deserved it in return for my career, and that's why I left the 64."

Whatever Captain Holt had been expecting, it certainly hadn't been that. He looked at Amy in shock. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry," he said, "How long has Peralta known about this?"

"I told him about it during the Keri Brennan case," informed Amy, "It was the reason I let the case consume me. I never told anybody before Jake because I sometimes felt like I didn't deserve the promotion, and I never reported Grimes because I was afraid that I wouldn't get any more promotions if I did report him."

"That's terrible," remarked Holt, "Do the others know?"

"I told Rosa, Terry and Charles earlier." answered Amy.

"Okay," said Holt, ""Let's get back before they wonder where we went."

"Captain, do you think I should report Grimes?" asked Amy.

"Do you want to report him?" asked Holt curiously.

"After today, I kind of want to, but at the same time, I'm nervous." explained the brunette.

"I can't make the decision for you, it has to be yours," replied the 99 captain, "But just know that if you do decide to report him, then you have my full support and the support of everybody else in the 99."

"Thanks, Captain." thanked Amy.

Jake, Rosa, Terry and Boyle were standing on the opposite side of the street, they all turned as Holt and Amy approached.

"The 64 squad have now taken over the abandoned building the Vultures used," informed Terry, "They're currently trying to seize anything they can use as evidence."

"They're like dirty vultures themselves," remarked Holt darkly, "Taking what they want and never caring who they might hurt in the process."

Jake looked at Amy in surprise. "I thought you weren't going to tell him."

"Grimes took me aside to have a talk," began Amy, "He figured out that I told you and the others about what he did and asked if I had told Captain Holt. H-he also said that I would never have made it to sergeant if it wasn't for him, then he grabbed my bottom."

"Alright, that's it!" snapped Jake.

Terry had to quickly wrap his arms around Jake and Rosa in a bare hug as they attempted to charge towards where they knew Grimes was. The two detectives struggled, but it was no use.

"Let me at him, let me at him!" snapped Jake and Rosa furiously.

"Can it, Scrappies!" barked Terry firmly.

"We can discuss this situation back at the 99," said Holt, "Though without Hitchcock: he is not trained to be sensitive about these matters."

Everybody else nodded in agreement.

Once everybody returned to the 99, they all gathered in the briefing room, which now included Scully.

Holt and Amy came to stand in front of the group.

"I apologise for the sudden meeting, but this couldn't wait," began Holt, "Sergeant Santiago has something that she wants to share with you all; Sergeant."

Holt stepped aside and allowed Amy to take the stand. The brunette cleared her throat before explaining to Scully what the situation was. After she was done, Amy allowed her captain to take the stand once more.

"Due to the sensitivity of this situation, Hitchcock is not invited to this meeting," explained Holt, "I have also decided that as long as Captain John Grimes is in charge of the 64, we will not partake in any future joint-investigations with that precinct. Me and Grimes were great friends for years: he helped me at several points in my career, so this betrayal hurts deeply; like a knife being plunged through my back. But definitely not as bad as how Sergeant Santiago feels. I will now ask that we allow Sergeant Santiago to figure out her next move."

Amy smiled happily. "Well, I've thought about it, and I'm going to report Grimes to Internal Affairs." she announced.

"Ames, are you sure?" said a surprised Jake.

"Yeah, I'm sure," answered a determined sounding Amy, "After what happened today and after being reminded of all the support I've got, I've decided to finally do what I should've done ten years ago."

Everybody burst into a round of applause.

"That's my wife!" cheered Jake proudly.

A short while later, Jake and Amy returned to the bullpen after they'd been to the IA office. Amy had decided to not remain anonymous, meaning that Grimes would know that it was her who had made the complaint. Amy went into full detail about both incidents, and Jake and Holt couldn't be prouder.

Rosa walked towards the trio. "So, did you do it?" she asked.

"Yeah," replied Amy quietly, "I told IA everything and even decided to not be anonymous, and I know you're going to say that that was stupid and dangerous, but I want Grimes to know that I'm not afraid of him."

"You go, girl." said Rosa proudly.

"Wait, really?" replied a surprised Amy.

"Yeah, really," said Rosa, "I don't like the idea of you putting your name out there, but I'm proud that you're standing up to this guy, and of course, I'm going to respect your decision and support you you big idiot."

"Thanks, Rosa." thanked Amy.

The two then shared a hug. After finishing, Amy yawned slightly.

"Me and Jake are just going to head home," announced Amy.

"I think you've both earned a break, especially after today's events." agreed Holt.

Everybody made their goodbyes. Jake and Amy then left the building.

Over at the 64, Grimes was sitting in his office, finishing some paperwork. There was suddenly a light knock at the door. Grimes looked up and saw Ben poking his head in. "Sorry, sir, but somebody from Internal Affairs is here to see you."

"What?" said a slightly confused Grimes as he rose to his feet.

The 64 captain followed Ben out of his office, where he spotted a sandy haired man with a smart suit standing in the middle of the room.

"Captain John Grimes?" said the man as he approached the officer.

"Yes." answered Grimes.

"You've been served." declared the man, thrusting an envelope into Grimes' hands before dashing to the elevator.

Grimes tore open the envelope and found a letter, which he began reading. The more he read, the more furious he became; his hands trembling with fury.

"What is it?" asked Sam curiously.

"It seems that Sergeant Amy Santiago has filed a complaint against me!" informed an enraged Grimes, "She's saying that I tried kissing her when she became a detective, forcing her to transfer! She's also saying that I threatened her and grabbed her bottom earlier today, and it seems that Raymond is backing her up!"

"What!" cried a shocked Mike, "But surely Amy wouldn't make something like that up."

"SHE'S A LYING BITCH!" snapped Grimes before throwing the letter in the bin, "She's a hysterical girl who's making this up to get attention!"

Grimes then marched back into his office, leaving most of the squad stunned, Olivia and Jo remained stoic.

Over at the 99, Holt picked up his phone as it started ringing.

"Raymond, how dare you: I thought we were friends!" snapped Grimes' voice.

"Ah, hello, John," greeted Holt in his usual blunt manner, "We were, but it's not nice to be betrayed, is it?"

"You can't believe a word that bi-Uhhh, I mean, Sergeant Santiago says!" cried Grimes, "It's all a big misunderstanding! Santiago is simply being hysterical!"

"Sergeant Santiago would never make that sort of thing up!" retorted Holt, "Goodbye, John; our friendship is over."

"No, don't you dare hang up on-

Holt hung up before Grimes could finish and slammed the office phone down.

Sometime later, Amy, now wearing casual clothes, was heading back to her and Jake's apartment after she'd gone to get pizza for her and Jake to share: a nice, simple meal always helped her after a long or tough day. Jake had tries insisting on getting pizza, but Amy had told him that she wanted to do it, though she loved how sweet he'd been throughout this situation.

The brunette was just approaching the apartment block when she suddenly heard a sound from behind, causing her to whirl around gasp in shock at the sight of a burly, male police officer. Amy looked around and could see five more police officers: three male; one female, surrounding her.

"Can I help you?" asked a confused Amy.

"Yeah, you definitely can!" sneered the first officer, "We're looking for a dirty rat!"

"A-a what?" said Amy nervously.

"You heard us, rat!" spat the second officer.

"And it looks like we found her!" growled the third officer.

Amy tried to run, but the first two officers were too quick and grabbed her by the elbows, causing her to drop the pizza box. Amy struggled, but it was no use. "No, let me go!" she cried in alarm as she continued to struggle.

The fourth officer came over and punched Amy in the stomach before punching her in the face, giving the brunette a bloody nose.

The brunette's eyes widened in horror as the fourth officer pulled out some pepper spray.

"No, wait, please!" begged a terrified Amy.

Amy then screamed in pain as the officer pepper sprayed her in the eyes. The two officers holding Amy let go and shoved the brunette to the ground. As one, the officers surrounded Amy and started punching and kicking her; ignoring her terrified whimpering and pleading.

In the living room of Jake and Amy's apartment, Jake heard Amy screaming from outside and instantly raced out of the apartment.

Jake walked out the door to the apartment building and immediately spotted the group of officers attacking Amy. "HEY!" he yelled angrily as he charged towards the group, "What do you think you're doing!"

The officers finally stopped and backed away as the detective ran towards his wife, who was cowering and sobbing on the ground.

"Oh my god, Amy!" cried Jake in horror as he slowly helped his wife up and held her closely before glaring angrily at the officers, "What the hell are you doing! That's my wife!"

"Tell your rat of a wife to drop her complaint!" demanded the first officer firmly.

He and the others then walked away.

"Are you okay?" asked Jake as he looked at Amy, who had several cuts and bruises on her face as well as a black eye.

"No." uttered Amy in a terrified whisper.

Amy then sobbed into Jake's shoulder. Jake hugged Amy and rubbed her back while making hushing noises. Jake felt angry and had a very good idea as to who was behind this attack.

(AN) And that's it for this chapter of Captain Grimes; hope you all enjoyed.

As you can see, Grimes doesn't take kindly to people reporting him.

In the next chapter: the rest of the squad finds out about this attack and we get some nice Jake and Amy moments.

Until then, this is TimeLordMaster108 signing out.
