The group of friends continue to roam the Duelist Island. Yugi now has five star chips, while James has three.

"Wow, Yugi." Tea smiled. "I can't believe you already won five star chips."

"Yeah, pretty soon, you'll have the ten you need to get into Pegasus' castle and rescue your grandpa." Tristan said.

Joey looks down at his glove. "I wish I had more star chips." He said with a sigh.

"Don't worry about it Joey." Yugi told him, looking up at the blonde. "You're doing fine. You'll be able to help your sister out soon."

"I sure hope so." Joey said, looking up at the sky. "Serenity's really counting on me … and I won't let her down."

"Ahh!"

"Huh?"

"Help!"

"What's that?" Tristan asked as the group turn to see where the shout is coming from.

"Help me, somebody! Please!" A kid shouts. Up ahead, a boy is being dragged away by a man in a suit. "AAH! Let go of me! Somebody help me!" He shouts as Yugi and the others ran up.

"Hold on kid, we're coming!" Tristan said.

"Help! You gotta help me!" Shouts the boy as he the suit turns around.

"Let that kid go!" Demands Tristan with a fist pulled back.

"Help! Help me, please!"

"I'm on the big guy!" Tristan grabs the suit by the arm and throws him to the ground. "Not too shabby." The man in the suit landed on his feet before jumping into the air and kicking Tristan in his back. "I'm off the big buy." Tristan said, lying face down in the dirt.

The man in the suit then goes after the boy, grabbing him.

"Put me down!" The boy yells.

'Quit squirming, you little brat!"

"You heard him, needle head!" Joey said. "Put the kid down."

"What do you think you're doing?" Yugi asked.

"This is none of your business." The suit said. "This duelist lost his star chips, and the rules say he's to be kicked off the island."

"But I didn't lose my chips in a duel!" The boy protested. "They were stolen from me! My cards, too!"

"I don't care what lame excuse you have kid. You need star chips to duel and you haven't got any, so your shipping out of here. Those are the rules. Those are my orders from Pegasus himself."

"Uhh. That big creep." Groaned Tristan as he sits up from the ground. "I say we follow him."

"Hey, Kemo. What'd you catch?" Asked another goon.

"Just another loser." The suit answered as he throws the boy into a boat.

"Hey, buzz off!" Weevil said as he pushed the boy off him. "They maybe shipping me out, but I'm still Weevil Underwood, bug duelist extraordinaire."

The boy sadly sighs. "But I didn't even get a chance to duel."

"Hey!" Yugi shouts as they reach the docks.

"Huh?"

"Hey, you!"

"You again?" Kemo asks.

"What did the guy who stole your star chips look like?" Yugi asks the boy.

"Well, I couldn't see his face." The boy explained. "It was covered with a banana, but he was a little guy and he challenged me in the meadow."

"He challenged you to a duel monsters game?" Yugi asks.

"Yeah. But as soon as I put my star chips and duel monsters deck down, he snatched em up and ran off with them."

"You shouldn't be shipped off the island for that." Yugi said with a frown. "We'll get your star chips back."

"The boat leaves in exactly 30 minutes." Kemo said. "Anyone without a star chip ships out."

"Then we'll get the chips back by that time." Tea said firmly.

"We won't let you bully him out of the game." Tristan added.

"Nope. We'll catch that little thief and bring him to justice. Believe me kid. You can count on us to track him down and get those star chips back." Joey assured.

"But who are you guys?" The kid asked.

"We're the guys that are gonna save your star chips." Joey answered simply. "Don't worry. You got the brilliant mind of Joey Wheeler on the case, and I always get my man." His friends sigh as he continues. "Even if he's just a kid. Onwards, troops!"

The team heads towards a duel station. "So, what's your brilliant mind telling you now, Sherlock?" Tristan asked.

"Uhh, beats me. Right now, the only thing my brilliant mind is doing is giving me a brilliant headache."

"Well played, empty head!" Kelly snapped, she turns to Yugi. "What should we start with Yugi?" She asks friendly.

"Well, maybe we should stake out the the scene of the crime." He answered. "It's over there." He runs over to the stadium.

"Think the thief will come back?" Joey asks.

"He just might, and we can put our heads together and plan in the meantime." Yugi suggests.

"Yah, but don't forget one of those heads is Joey's." Tristan smiles. "That's sort like subtracting on brain."

"Ha ha." Joey said sarcastically. Out from the bushes, the same boy appeared.

"I found you at least, Yugi Moto!" The boy looked familiar to Kelly even with him concealing his face.

"That must the kid we're looking for." Joey said.

"I can handle him." Tristan said.

"I hope so, you're twice his size." Tea told him.

"I know that small fry." Kelly said.

"Just try me, you big dork." The boy said, glaring up at Tristan.

"Back off kid." Tristan said.

"And hand over the star chips you swiped from that other duelist." Joey added.

"Hold on. I think I know what this kid's after." Yugi said. "He wants to duel."

"Huh?"

"That's what you want, right? You want to duel me?" Yugi asks the kid.

"Aw, you better believe it." The kid said. Both go towards the stadium.

"I don't get it. Why is Yugi going to the trouble of dueling this guy when we could just take those star chips away from him?" A confused Joey asks.

"You know, sometimes I don't think even Yugi knows why he does half the stuff he does." Tristan said.

"Heh. Yeah, it's kind of weird." Joey agreed. "Do you think it has something to do with his Millennium Puzzle?"

Suddenly The Spirit now stood in Yugi's place. "Now, how many star chips will you wager?"

"To wipe you out? 5!"

"Then 5 it is, but only because I think I know why you are doing this."

"I don't care what you think, Yugi, cause I think you're gonna lose." The boy said, dumping the five star chips.

"What does Yugi see that we don't?" Tea asks. "It's like he's looking into the other player's soul."

"Hey, soul, schmoul." Joey said. "I can see from here that that kid's gonna get his butt kicked."

"Maybe … but Yugi should hurry if he plans to get those star chips back to the boat in time." Tristan added.

"Mokuba! It's gotta be!" Kelly whispered, causing The Spirit to look at her suddenly while the others didn't hear her.

"Don't worry Tristan. He'll win the chips, and we'll be back at the dock with time to spare." Tea replied.

"Duel!"

Flashback

"Seto, you've gotta leave now if you're gonna make the boat for the big tournament at Duelist Kingdom." Mokuba said at KaibaCorp, he knocks on his brother's office door. "Seto, open the door!" Mokuba finally opens the door. "Huh? Seto?" He calls, finding is brother behind his desk.

"I'm not going, Mokuba."

"Not going? Why not?"

"There's no point." Seto threw his cards onto his desk.

"What do you mean, 'no point'?" A shocked Mokuba couldn't believe what he heard from his big brother.

"Kid, I'm in no condition to duel anymore." Seto tried to tell him.

"What are you talking about?" Mokuba asked, getting angry with his fists in the air. "You always say 'cards are power', and you've got all the strongest cards."

"Since I lost my duel with Yugi, I just don't know what I think anymore. Everything's different. It feels as if I lost a piece of myself that day."

"You never looked so lost after Kelly broke up with you. Now you do?" Mokuba shook his head. "This doesn't make sense!"

"This has nothing to do with Kelly! Don't bring her into this!" Seto growls. "She's history like yesterday's socks! And we are done talking about her!"

"Seto. You're the best! You're the champ!"

"Not since the day I was defeated by Yugi." Seto threw a card at his brother.

"Huh?"

"Here, Mokuba. I'm going away for awhile." Seto said. "I don't know long I'll be gone. Keep this. It was always your favorite."

"Why? Why are you leaving?" Mokuba asks.

"Because I don't know who I am anymore." Explained Seto, he pats his brother on the head. "Take care, kid."

"Seto, don't go!" Mokuba cried after him.

End of Flashback

"Mokuba, what are you doing?" Kelly whispered in worry as she and her friends watch the duel continue. "Why are you doing this?"

"Huh? My monster lost?" Mokuba asked.

"You can't win a duel with cards that don't rightfully belong to you." The Spirit said. "How can your heart ever live in cards that belong to someone else?"

"Be quiet. I don't believe in that 'heart of the cards' stuff you keep preachin about." Mokuba said. "Cards have nothing to do with hearts. It's all about power."

"Yes, I can see it now." The Spirit used his eye of the Millennium Puzzle. I sensed a connection to Kaiba. You're his brother! You're Mokuba!"

"How did you know?" Mokuba demanded, pulling down his bandana. "Well, it doesn't matter."

"I knew it!" Kelly exclaimed.

"Look!" Joey gasped.

"It's Kabia's little brother!" Tea said.

"That's right. Seto Kaiba is my brother, and he's the best duelist that there ever was!" Mokuba said as he takes off his hat. "But now, thanks to Yugi, he's gone and Pegasus is trying to take over KaibaCorp!"

Kelly gasped in shock and horror.

"Pegasus wants KaibaCorp?" The Spirit asks.

"I don't know what you did Tony brother when you dueled, Yugi, but ever since that defeat, he hasn't been the same." Mokuba explained. "He ran away because of you and with him gone, Pegasus moved right in. Some KaibaCorp executives invited him to some kind of secret board meeting."

Flashback

"Now, gentleman, let's see if I understand your proposition." Pegasus said as he sits at a table with the KaibaCorp board. "Seto Kaiba has abandoned his corporate station, and now you five wish to seize control of KaibaCorp. You then want to merge with my company and you'd like me to handle any messy details, yes?"

"Precisely, Mr. Pegasus." Said the board, not knowing Mokuba had opened the door. "With our money and your leadership, we will easily take control of KaibaCorp."

"Do tell."

"For our plan to succeed, Kaiba must be taken out of the picture … permanently."

"However, there is one catch. As per the corporate bylaws, only a Kaiba family member can legally control KaibaCorp."

"Hmm." Pegasus hummed, bowing his head.

"To the end, Pegasus, we recommend kidnapping Kaiba's brother Mokuba. In name, he will control KaibaCorp, but we will control him."

"Do these things for us and we will lay all of KaibaCorp's technology at your feet."

"Agreed. The elder Kaiba shall meet with an accident, and the younger Kaiba will be captured." Pegasus said.

"Excellent/ But we have one final condition. The brat who beat Kaiba has tarnished KaibaCorp's good name, and we must insist that you restore it."

"Well, how fortuitous." Pegasus said smugly. "Plans for me to duel Yugi are already under way. But, there is a flaw. Kaiba's woman. She'll get in the way."

"Then we need to erase her."

"Perfect. Now, to show you that I truly am the man for the job."

Mokuba backs away from the door when he suddenly backs away into one of Pegasus' men, who grabs him.

"Kemo, bring me young Kaiba, would you?"

"NOOOOOO!" Mokuba screams as Kemo brings him in, struggling. "Let me go, you creeps. I heard everything, and when I tell my big brother, you're gonna."

"You see, gentlemen?" Pegasus asks over Mokuba's ranting. "This is how you efficiently you can expect me to handle our business. Young Kaiba is captured, Yugi will be defeated, Seto Kaiba will bother us no more, and neither will his woman."

End of Flashback

"It's all your fault!" Mokuba accuses. "Seto deserted me cause of you!"

"You don't understand." The Spirit told him. "Mokuba, your brother hasn't deserted you. He's searching for himself."

"LIER! Tell it to my monster! Go, Crocodilus!"

A monster appeared on the field, but The Spirit's monster destroyed it, and Mokuba's life points drop to 300.

"Battling me won't bring your brother back, and we want to stop Pegasus as much as you do." The Spirit explained. "He's taken my grandfather prisoner."

"That's right!" Joey shouts. "Pegasus is the bad guy here. Can't you see that, you crazy little kid?"

"Joey!" Kelly warns, turning to him.

"Your wrong." Mokuba denies. "I have to protect my brother's company, and Yugi's the one Pegasus has to beat in order to take it over."

"Wait, I get it." Tea exclaimed, understanding Mokuba's motives. "Mokuba's trying to save his brother's company by defeating Yugi in a duel so Pegasus doesn't get to face Yugi at all!"

"What do you mean?" Tristan asks.

"What do you mean 'what do I mean'?" Joey turns to him.

"I wasn't talking to you." Tristan said.

Joey blinks a few times, then chuckles and turns to Tea. "Sorry, what'd you mean, Tea?" He asks causing both Tea and Kelly to sigh.

"Oh brother." James said as he shook his head.

"If Mokuba can keep Pegasus from beating Yugi, then he won't be able to take over Kaiba's company." Tea explained.

"Ah, that must be it!" Said The Spirit, he looks at Mokuba and saw Mokuba disappeared off the stadium. "Huh? Where'd he go?"

"Mokuba!" Kelly yells, causing The Spirit to look down behind him.

"If I can't beat you." Mokuba starts, then swipes the star chips. "I'll have you disqualified."

"My star chips!" The Spirit yells as Mokuba jumps down.

Hold up, you little punk!" Shouts Tristan as they chase after him.

"Mokuba, stop!" Kelly yells. "Let us help you!"

"MOKUBA! LISTEN TO ME!" Bellows The Spirit. "You'll never save Kaiba Corporation this way!"

Mokuba stops in his tracks and looks over his shoulder. "Huh?"

"Your big brother is just confused." The Spirit said. "After I defeated Kaiba in our duel. I opened his mind. I removed from him all the dark influences that clouded his thoughts and actions. Free of that evil essence, Kaiba is struggling. Now your brother realizes that his way wasn't the right way, and he's searching his heart for answers, and you know in your heart what you're doing isn't the right way either."

"But then." Mokuba said with a somber look. "What can I do?"

Kelly walked over to him, kneeling next to him. "Mokuba, you know I still somehow care for your brother." She starts.

"I'm suppose to believe that?! You dumped him!"

"Aw, correction. He dumped me."

Mokuba blinked at her. "That's not what my brother says."

"Shocker." Joey dryly said.

The Spirit walked up to the two and knelt down next to Kelly. "You can start bay trusting in me, and together we will defeat Pegasus.." He said, Mokuba wasn't so sure. "I promise you; we can only bring Pegasus down if we stick together. We'll help you protect your brother, Mokuba, but you're got to help us, ok? You've got to go back and return those cards and star chips to the kid you stole them from."

"You're right Yugi." Said a guilty Mokuba. "Then we'll take on Pegasus together!"

"We've only got three minutes left till the boat leaves." Tea said.

"Let's get going Mokuba." The Spirit said.

"Let's do it." Mokuba agrees.

"Ah, it's no use." Kaiba thought as he sat behind a desk. "I've gone over it a dozen times in my mind, but I still can't figure it out. How was a kid who came out of nowhere able to defeat a champion like me? I've run computer simulations, probability scenarios and quantum analysis or our duel but I still don't have the answer."

At the door, Pegasus' men barges in. "Seto Kaiba!" The good continues to bang on the door. "We know you're in there! Open the door or we'll break it down!"

Placing the portable holo generators into his suitcase above his cards, the door opens as Kaiba close the case.

"Let's go, Kaiba." Demands the goon. "On your feet. Mr. Pegasus would like to have a few words with you."

"Heh. I bet he would." Kaiba said as he stood from his desk. "But it will take more then you two goons to grab me."

"This can go easy, or we can snap you in two, wiseguy!"

"You'll never take me alive." Kaiba kicks a chair towards them before jumping out the window.

"Get him!" Shouts the goon as both ran towards the window and looked out. "He jumped."

"Nobody could survive a fall like that." The other goon said.

"Looks like he did our work for us."

"Yeah, now his woman is next."

The two goons turn to see Kaiba left a deck behind. "Pegasus was very clear. He wants the deck with the deadly Blue Eyes White Dragon." The goon said, looking at the card.

The group of friends hurry toward the dock. "Hurry, we're almost there!" Tea shouts.

"We're gonna just make it!" Shouts Tristan when suddenly The Spirit stops.

"I told you, I'm not gonna row, so quit bugging me!" Weevil shouts.

"The boat! It's already left!" Mokuba cried.

"And there's the sleazy lowlife that shipped em out." Joey said.

"You're too late. Those losers Aron their way back home." Kemo told the group.

"Hey, that's not fair!" Tea yells. "It hasn't been half hour yet!"

"Tough luck. Pegasus sets the schedule here."

"That's it! I'm gonna give you a flat top!" Threatened Joey and Mokuba runs up to Kemo.

"You gotta call the boat back. I've gotta return that kid's star chips to him." Mokuba explained.

Suddenly, Kemo knocks what Mokuba has out of his hands.

"The star chips!" The Spirit yells as the others gasp as they all watch star chips into the water.

"What gives?" Joey demands. "A bunch of those star chips belong to Yugi, you gib jerk."

"You have no authority to do that!" Kelly yells, moving to Mokuba, she takes his arm and pulls him backwards so he could now stand between her and Tristan.

"I am so sorry Yugi." Mokuba apologizes.

"Ha! You losers should keep a tighter grip on your valuables, don't you think?" Kemo demands. "Then accidents like that wouldn't happen. Now." He walks up to Mokuba.

"Don't touch him!" Kelly yells, pushing Mokuba to Tristan. Kemo grabs Kelly's arm and shoves her into Tristan, while the two are distracted Kemo grabs Mokuba.

"Let's go, you. Back to the cage."

Kelly reaches into her pocket to pull out a pink tube. "Let him go!" She points it at him.

"Not a chance! This runt is a special guest of Mr. Maximillion Pegasus, and he's been invited to attend a special dinner in his honor back at the castle. Right Mokuba?"

"Kelly, Yugi!" Mokuba cried.

Kelly moves fast, delivering a hard side kick to Kemo's stomach, forcing him to let go of Mokuba, who ran towards the group of friends and hiding behind Joey.

"You little, AHHHHHHH!" He screamed when Kelly shoots her pepper spray in the goons eyes.

"Whoa, Kelly, when have you been packing that?" Tristan asked.

"Ever since we left for this island." Kelly answered, dropping her now empty spray.

Kemo blindly reached out, stumbling as he did. And somehow was able to grab Mokuba.

"Let go of me!" Mokuba yells as he's thrown over Kemo's shoulder as the goon quickly leaves. "Kelly! Yugi!"

"Mokuba!" Kelly yells as she and her friends run after him.

Back at the arena, the friends look around. "Well, we're here. Where's antenna head?" Joey asked.

"Kelly, Yugi, over here!" Mokuba shouts, struggling against Kemo's grip. "Get him off me!"

"Mokuba!" Kelly yells. "Let him go!"

"I'll consider it if you win the duel."

"Oh, I'll beat you alright." The Spirit growls.

"I never said I would duel." Kemo points to the opponent. "There is your opponent."

"Huh?"

"He's an old friend who's dying to see you again." Kemo continued. "He met with an unfortunate end earlier today, but he's back just to duel you."

"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING!?" Mokuba screamed and the teens gasp.

"Seto!" Kelly cried, she didn't know what to feel at seeing him.

"Yes, it is me." He said in a distorted voice, laughing. "It's me, Kaiba, and this time Yugi doesn't stand … a ghost of a chance."
