"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" a boy yelled in distress
That boy is Steven Universe, a rather famous boy in their little town known for his kindness. Steven is a 12 year old chubby boy with curly black hair standing at 4'6 wearing a red shirt with a large yellow star on the front and blue jeans.
He's upset because well. . .his favorite ice cream snack has apparently stopped circulating.
"This can't be happening! This has to be a dream! Lars! Lars!" Lars Barriga is a lanky teen with hoop ears and orange hair wearing the standard Big Donut uniform .
"Get off me Steven, I'm stocking here" Lars said, shaking off Steven who grabbed his wrist. Sadie, a short blonde girl around the same height of Steven at 18 also wearing a Big Donut uniform felt bad for the kind boy "I'm sorry Steven, I guess they stopped making them" she said and Steven looked appalled at the idea.
"Stopped making them?! Why in the world would they stop making Cookie Cats?! They're only the most scrumptious and delicious ice-cream sandwich ever made! Don't they have laws for this?!" Steven said
Lars sighed to himself as he continued stocking "Tough bits, man. Nobody buys them anymore." Lars said as he stocks the shelves" I guess they couldn't compete with Lion Lickers". Steven walked over and took a look at the frozen treat and groans.
"Not Lion Lickers! Nobody likes them! They don't even look like lions! Kids these days I'll tell ya what" Steven said making Lars chuckle at the impression of the elderly generation."Well" Lars began a mocking smirk "If you miss your wimpy ice cream so much, why don't you make some with your magic belly button" lars walked off laughing and Steven pouts. His magic belly button is actually his gem.
You see Steven is a Gem/Human hybrid. Gems was an alien race of warriors from deep space. In fact Steven's friends were 4 full blood gems who defend Earth from trouble every day using their magical gem abilities and it was Steven's dream to help unlocking his.
"My gem doesn't work like that ,Lars!" Steven fired back "Right?. . ." Steven checked his gem which was located in place of his belly button before shrugging."Oh,sweet Cookie Cats, with your crunchy cookie outside and your icy creamy insides, , ,You were too good for this world.
"Uh Steven" Sadie says confused as she saw her young friend kissing and hugging the cookie cats freezer. "Do you want to take the freezer with you?" Sadie asked making Steven nod.
—Later on
Steven hummed to himself as he walked home and made to open the door but suddenly a Centipeetle flys out the door screaming in pain and a man walked out the door casually.
The man was tall at 6ft he had dark gray skin and spiky black hair and a muscular physic and wearing a black longs button up vest which was unbuttoned showing his 8 pack and black baggy pants with boots the most distinctive feat is his whisker marks on his cheek. This is Obsidian the only male member of the Crystal Gems.
"Oh hey Steven how was your day? ''Obsidian greeted just as the Centipeetle launched itself at the duo but Obsidian reached behind him and a glowing black Sabar manifested itself which he slammed into Centipede hybrid sending it back again.
"It was okay i got to show you guys something" Steven said not fazed as this is an everyday thing."Cool Stevie" the gem grinned "But uh don't go in your room for a bit" the black gem said before jumping at the Giant insect with a war cry.
Steven shrugged before walking in "Hey guys,you won't believe this!" the young gem said before a smaller Centipeetle tries to attack him but a whip wraps around whip was being held by a short but taller than Steven woman with purple skin and light purple hair that covers one wore a wearing a lavender shirt and black pants with stars on the knees and is Amethyst the earth bred gem.
"Sup Steven'' Amethyst says before yanking the Centipeetle off and Steven could see a dainty woman with a petite figure standing at 5'5 with a light blue shirt and skirt with brown shorts underneath wielding a spear was fighting one off on a warp pad this is Pearl the micromanaging gem. In the kitchen a large woman taller than Obsidian at 6 '2 and voluptuous wearing a full body suit which was red and black and she has gauntlets on with stars on is Garnet the down to earth leader of the group.
"Awesome! What are these things?" Steven said as the shock wore off and was replaced with lifts a Centipeetle up with her abnormal strength "Ugh! Sorry, 'll get these Centipeetle out of your think they were trying to get into the frowned " don't have to get rid of them,They're really cool." the hybrid says.
The Centipeetle that Pearl was holding spits acid which made Steven and Pearl look in disgust."Or maybe not" Steven said reconsidering..Amethyst poofs a Centipeetle and begins picking her nose "Um guys? These things don't have gems" she said.
Garnet walks up after finishing hers "Maybe the one Obsidian was facing has the gem it was larger than the others. Just then the dark gem walked in hearing the talk and says "No it didn't but it did grow wings which was kinda cool i guess" the gem grabbed a beer out the fridge been he began downing it.
"Then that means there must be a mother somewhere nearby" Garnet concludes as Pearl walks up and snatches the beer out of Obsidian's hands "Don't drink that you know it makes you touchy on Garnet" Pearl reprimands before storing the drink in her hammer space."Aw Pearl your being a Buzzkill" Obsidian says walking off
"What touchy means?" Steven asks, making Pearl blush "Uhh nothing when you're older Steven! Look we should probably find the mother before anyone gets hurt" Steven began bouncing up and down in excitement "Oh! Oh! Can I come? Can I? Can I?" he asks but Pearl shakes her head no."Steven, until you can control the powers in your gem, you have to continue training with Obsidian,.Just leave protecting humanity to use okay?" says Pearl before she snaps a Centipeetle neck she was holding.
"Aw man" Steven groans, while Obsidian was a good and fun teacher he was also tough and his training usually amounted to beating Steven around until he awaken his gem then noticed a Centipeetle raiding his fridge.:Hey! Get out of there! Go on! Shoo! Shoo! Aw! They got into everything! Not cool!" the boy pouts as Obsidian grabs the Centipeetle and one hand crushes it.
Steven looked to see if he could recover anything and noticed it was full of Cookie Cats."No way.I-it can;t be! Wha-where did you get these?! I thought they stopped making these" Steven stuttered as Pearl closes the fridge."Well,we heard that,too,and since they're your and Obsidians favorite . . " Pearl smiled before frowning when Amethyst interrupted saying "We went out and stole a bunch".
Pearl grunts before saying "I went back and paid for them" Garnet retracts her gauntlet back to her gem before saying "The whole thing was my idea" Obsidian perks up from his place on my sofa "Wait a minute I'm the one who brought it up in the first place" but Garnet walks over and lean on her boyfriend shoulder before whispering in his ear.
"Nevermind it was Garnet idea" The gem switched up making Amethyst cough out Sell out.Pearl shook her head "All that matters is that Steven is happy" she Obsidian and Steven began rapping together

The other gems couldn't help but laugh and clap at the pseudo brothers performance as the two took a bow.
Steven smiles "I can't believe you guys did this. I'm gonna save these forever!... right after I eat this one" Steven tears open the wrapper of a Cookie Cat before saying "Hello, old friend "the hybrid bites into the frozen treat moaning out "Oh, so good!" Suddenly Steven's gem begins to glow much to the other's surprise.
"Uh,Steven" Amethyst trailed pointing to his shirt making Steven "What?" Steven lifts his shirt and sees that his gem was glowing "My gem!" he shouts and Obsidian quickly jumps in and says "Quick focus on the sensation and manifest your weapon" but Steven panicked and lost the sensation.
"Ah, I was really close that time! Can one of you just explain how to summon a weapon" Steven says disappointed and Pearl, ever the pleaser jumps up first "Oh! I'll go first" sh says in a singsong fashion.
—Pearls Method
On a cherry blossom hill stood Peal "Pay attention to these petals, Steven. The petals' dance seems improvised, but it is being calculated in real time based on the physical properties of this planet. With hard work and dedication, you can master the magical properties of your gem and perform your own dance!" She exclaim passionately before summoning her spear "Like so" and Steven stood in awe
—Amethyst Method
Steven stood at the big donut tossing petals in the air just as Amethyst walks up eating a donut."Did Pearl tell you the petal thing?" she deadpanned why Steven nodded "Yeah,i need to practice really hard so I can dance like a tree. . .I think" Steven began excited before moving towards confusion and Amethyst just scoffs and finishes her donut before saying "Listen Steven, all that practice stuff is no fun. Whenever I need to summon my weapon, it just happens." Amethyst summons her whip and breaks a nearby garbage container in two "See? Didn't try at all" the lazy Gem says before walking off, making Steven scratch his head and follow just as Lars comes out and see the trash can was split. . .again
–Garnet Method
Garnet and Steven stood near the lighthouse
"So,I'm supposed to work really hard and not try at all at the same time" Steven concludes and Garnet responds simply with "Yes" but notices Steven beginning to blank out so she offers her method up.
"Or... you could link your mind with the energy of all existing matter. Channeling the collective power of the universe through your gem, which results in... Garnet summons her gauntlets "At least that's my way of doin' it'' but shakes her head when she notices Steven hasfully blanked out.
—Obsidians Method
Obsidian stood in the parade rest position and Steven sat cross legs on the beach.
"A gems weapon isn't just a weapon, they are an extension of oneself" the whiskered gem raises his right hand and summons his Saber brining it down hard cutting the ground and even splitting the ocean a bit. Obsidian raises his Saber and swipes his hands across the blade causing a dome to surround the nearby area "So to summon your weapon you need to reach deep within yourself and find it" Obsidian swipes his Saber across the beach causing the house, Steven who begin whooping in excitement, and pieces of the earth to lift into the sky and Obsidian uses his hand to move them around in the sky."And then once you find it bring it the surface" Obsidian taps the point of his sword on the ground and everything moves back to where they were.
Obsidian retracted his weapons and looked at Steven who was overloaded with awe. "So you got that Stevie" Obsidian asked, making Steven scratch his head sheepishly and say "Uhh can you do that again I couldn't hear you" Obsidian facepalmed.
The team sat back at the house after a day of unsuccessful attempts to manifest Steven weapon though Steven had fun playing with Obsidian's Room! Steven stepped up "I think my best bet is to recreate what happened the last time my gem glowed. So…" Steven then pointed at the gems who were sitting on the couch "Garnet and Amethyst were here. Pearl was next to the fridge. Naruto was by the couch. Hmm. Amethyst, I think your arms were crossed?" Amethyst rolled her eyes "Okay your majesty," she crosses her arms "And Pearl, your foot was like this." Steven tilts one of her feet slightly "And Obsidian you were eating a cookie cat too" He went into the fridge and toss one to the gem "I don't think this is how it works Steven" Pearl made to intervene but was ultimately ignored "And uh Garnet" Steven said before squishing her face into a smile "Yea" he muttered and Obsidian had to bite his tongue to stop from ran and grabbed his half eaten cookie cat made Naruto sing the rap with him again quickly before taking a bite.
"Awww, it was funnier last time" Steven lifts his shirt to see his gem and sigh "Maybe I'm not a real Crystal Gem" Pearl knelt down next to the boy "Don't be silly Steven,Of course you are" she smiled Naruto nodded "It true look at me i was so bad at being a gem when i was first created that White Diamond herself wanted me dead and i would've been if wasn't for you mother" Obsidian said making Steven eyes widen.
"R-really?' the boy was hard to imagine the strongest of the group being so weak he almost Obsidian gem "Yep Rose taught me how to manifest and use my saber" this made Steven gasp "Woooaaahhh really" Pearl smiled and stepped in.
"Yes Obsidian and Rose both had swords for their gem weapons so she taught him what she knew and he became her best student, She really was the best teacher" Pearl eyes gleaming in pride. Obsidian ruffled Steven hair "The point is Stevie is that it takes time and a good teacher to get places and even if you don't have a weapon. . ." Steven smiled and said "I have a cookie cat" he bit into and his gem glowed and hovering in front of him was a pink shield.
The gems all gasped "Steven, your weapon. .it's a shield " Obsidian eyes narrowed "Yea a very familiar shield" but Steven didn't care HE HAD A SHIELD! "I have a shield!. . .Oh YEAH!" In the boy's excitement he launched the shield which bounced around the house before Naruto grabbed it before it crashed into the T.V.
Amethyst burst out laughing and Pearl groaned in disappointment Naruto merely smiled "Still your gonna need some training with this Stevie remember don't let go of the sensation" the boy nodded before looking at his ice cream "Cookie Cats! I summon my weapons by eating ice cream" Steven cheered while Pearl looked at the wrapper vastly confused "What is in these things" she asked but Obsidian shook his head "Its not the ice cream itself its the" He began only to get interrupted by the house rumbling before they could see a shadow of a Centipeetle outside.
"What was that?" Steven said looked for his shield which Obsidian had inly to noticed it was gone "Its the mother" Obsidian says running outside with the other gems before Obsidian looked back at Steven who stayed "Well you coming Stevie?" Steven nodded before taking a serious look and running after them.
Outside Steven could see the Centipeetle was at least 3 times the size of the one from before it roared at them before Garnet slammed her fist into its face sending it back down the beach.
Naruto jumped up and landed by the Giant and summoned a Room! As the others join him ready for Motherpettle spat out some acid and Naruto used Shambles! To swap everyone place with nearby objects to dodge the acid.
The Bug mother doesn't let up and continue spraying forcing Obsidian to continue switching objects.
"Running out of objects here guys" Obsidian yells out and Amethyst said "could really use your shield now Steven!"
The boy nodded and as he switched places with a statue he picked up a nearby pebble and threw it at the Motherpettle getting its attention.
"Hey! Leave them alone" Steven said much to everyone's surprise."Steven No!" Pearl and Garnet yelled.
"Cookie Cat Crystal Combo powers activated" Steven says, taking a bite of the ice cream sandwich and lifting up his shirt.
The Centipeetle stares as nothing happens making Steven nervous. "Uhhh Obsidian a little help please" the boy pleads and he and the freezer is switched with a nearby boulder just in time before acid is spat at where he was at and the Centipeetle mother begins pursuing the boy as the Room! slowing retracting.
"We need to save Steven!" Pearl says dodging a tail swipe."We have to save ourselves first" Amethyst yells back.
Obsidian runs and use Shambles! to makes pieces of the ground to float in the hopped boulder to boulder looking for an given by Steven and Garnet. Garnet held down the Centipeetle while Steven threw his freezer at the Centipeetle who screamed in pain from electrical shock.
"Now available. . .nowhere" Steven said before Obsidian jumped down and stabbed the Centipeetle in the head.
Gamma Knife! Obsidian yelled, charging his blade with green energy, poofing the Centipeetle at last.
Steven knelt down and digs a hole "Farewell, sweet Cookie Cats" the boy buries a Cookie Cat wrapper in the ground "I'll always remember the time we spent together" the boy tears up as his stomach rumbles "Shh... Hush now"
"Are you crying" Amethyst said and Steven nodded "Only a little" the boy said and Amethyst shrugged "Well,I guess your powers don't come from ice cream" the lazy gem concluded.
Pearl rolled her eyes "Of course they don't come from ice cream. Don't worry, Steven, I'm sure some day you'll figure out how to activate your gem" she said.
"Yes in your own Steven-y way" Garnet smiled and Obsidian ruffled Steven hair "Remember what i said all in due time kiddo" he smirked which Steven queasily returned before his face turned green.
"Ugh, I think I ate too many Cookie Cats" he said referring to the amount of cookie cats he ate before throwing his group laughed until Steven threw up all over the beach.
Okay things to note
is Obsidian and male which is a result of an experiment that will be elaborate later in the series
gem weapon is just a saber and gem ability is a nerfed version of Law's ope ope no mi btw he can't cut living people using the Shambles also his Rooms last for only a time limit.
3. It is Garnet x Naruto but isn't gonna be a big part of the story and don't worry there still Ruby x Saphhire its just the fusion Garnet that likes Naruto (Please don't linch me Steven Universe fandom im just a fanfic author taking creative liberites)
