In Japan kids start school the April after they turn 6 years old (Grade 1 ). Junior high goes from 13 -15 and High school goes from 15-18
Both Mamoru and Usagi would have started just before their 7th birthdays. I am going off the sailor moon crystal ages which put Usagi and Mamoru age gap at 3 years
Usagi age 14 = Mamoru age 17 = Katherine (Rhea) age 18

Queen Serenity looked down at the mirror that reflected the image of a new born baby girl. A sad smile crossed her face, that baby held was her daughter reborn. Oh how she wished she could be with her child but that was not to be. Instead the Queen said a silent prayer for the new born child and placed the mirror back in it's home.
The baby girl quickly grew into a little girl named Usagi and very much the spitting image physically and in personality as her past life princess self. Her blond hair held up in matching buns with tails falling down her sides with a loving and friendly smile. They Queen kept a protective watch over her as she grew and could only smile with pride.
When Usagi turned thirteen the Queen began sending her memories of her past life, her friends who had also been reborn and her Prince. Through the years the Queen had lost track of the young boy now teenager that possessed the soul of her daughter's true love but part of her knew that they would eventually find each other. As the memories became stronger and imbedded more and more into the teenager the Queen noticed somethings that she didn't expect. Her carefree spirit changed slightly and she began creating a second identity for herself online, acquiring real identification for her alter ego and even getting advanced education.
Then it happened the evil thought to have been banished broke free and began threatening the world as a whole and it was time for the Princess to truly awaken, thus where our story truly begins…
