The Illuminati doctor and his minions were determined to get the red gargoyle back before he finished his pregnancy. Either that or find their lair and get the babies after they were born. But if they weren't ready to be born yet, there was a chance that they could be finished growing in a big test tube with the right fluids like how the clones had been grown, though they didn't know about the clones.

The one doctor knew of Gen-U-Tech geneticist, Dr. Anton Sevarius, and he decided to pay him a visit.

Sevarius was busy with doing some paperwork when Bruno video phoned him. "Dr. Sevarius, there's a doctor here to see you about a gargoyle." Bruno explained.

"What sort of doctor? I'm busy, Bruno." Sevarius snapped.

"He is interested in your genetic engineering, as he had done something on this gargoyle himself." Bruno said.

"Oh, very well. Send him in." Anton smirked at that.

The doctor was let into Anton's office. "So, what is it that you can offer me?" Anton asked.

"I come here looking for your help, Dr. Sevarius. I know you are an expert in genetically designing special creatures. And you have had contact with gargoyles, correct?" The doc asked.

"Yes, I have. Why?"

"Would you be interested in some human/gargoyle crossbreeds?" The doc asked him.

This did sound intriguing to Sevarius. "Sure, sounds interesting. How would this come to be? I have never done anything like that. Just designing mutations of humans using jungle cat and bat DNA. And cloning."

"No, I don't mean clones. I mean taking human eggs and fertilizing them with gargoyle sperm. That's what I did. I also had to remove a good portion of the nucleus from the human egg cell. It made sure they would be more gargoyle. There is a gargoyle out there right now with my project and I need it back." The doc explained.

"Hmm. That is intriguing alright. Which gargoyle was it?" Anton asked.

"A red male. Do you know which one he is?"

"Not sure of his name exactly, but yes, I've seen him. There is only one red gargoyle among the clan of this city. I believe I know of someone who can get him back for you." Anton declared.

"Whoever goes to capture him must be really careful of the red one. He carries my project inside him, and it must not be damaged. Have you drugs that won't harm unborn babies?" The doc asked.

"Yes. But you say he is pregnant?" Anton was shocked at that.

"Yes, he is. He should need to have them in a few months. I'm guessing he'll need at least the nine months of a human female for full development. The pregnancy is very advanced at seven months along."

"He would have a big belly then. No hiding it from us." Anton was even more interested now. And he knew just the one to go after the red male.

"Nope. I want him back soon. I don't care about the red gargoyle after the babies are born. You can do away with him for all I care. Maybe the babies could be finished being grown in a test tube instead?" The doc asked.

"It's possible, but most likely, the lungs aren't developed enough. The best bet would be just to keep the red gargoyle alive or sedated until this baby is done developing." Anton explained. "He's quite a feisty one."

"I know he's feisty. I had him for the first few weeks starting out. But somehow, he got away." The doc stated. "And I have a feeling I know who. I don't think the gargoyle just escaped; I think he was purposefully let out."

"We would need to locate to somewhere else in the city or outside the city so his clan wouldn't find him." Anton instructed. "His clan would come after us. They would find him here."

"Good idea." The doctor also had a suitcase with him. "Here in this case is $23 million to tide you over for the capture of the red gargoyle."

Sevarius took the case to see the money prize inside it. His eyes widened in greedy glee. He would gladly get the job done for this amount and more. "I will make sure that you get your gargoyle. I know someone special to retrieve him."

"Good. And remember, I don't want him harmed due to his... delicate condition." The doc smirked.

Sevarius knew who he would get to retrieve the red male.

...

Later, the evil geneticist called a certain someone and he picked up; a dark gargoyle appeared on the video line. "What are you calling for, Doctor?" Thailog demanded.

"Thailog, I have some money here with me that I will wire some of it, of which I was paid to retrieve the red male gargoyle of the clan. Surely you know which one he is?" Sevarius explained.

"Of course, I know which one he is." Thailog replied. He was intrigued at the idea of being paid. "And why is the red one wanted?"

"A special someone wants him specifically for doing some tests on him and he carries one at the moment. I will give you ten million of the money to capture him unharmed and you will be given some drugs that will not harm him. He mustn't be harmed because he is in a delicate condition." Anton explained to the clone.

"Hmm. This sounds like something I would even be interested in doing myself too. Yes, I'll be happy to do this bidding. Just tell me where to bring him." Thailog sneered.

Anton was pleased.

...

The girls were getting things ready for the baby shower they had planned to give to Brooklyn for his twins. The other males were also included in the parts where they had all chosen names and were put into a jar. But the shower was strictly for the girls to give to Brooklyn as it just was a girl thing mostly.

Elisa, Fox, Angela, Diane, Maggie, and Delilah were the ones coming to it. There would be no need for diapers at least but there were plenty of other gifts that could be bestowed to Brooklyn.

Maggie and Delilah were busy making a couple of blankets for them for naptimes. Elisa was getting a name book and other books. Diane was getting bottles and formula. Brooklyn would need a way to feed them. Angela found a way into a baby store after hours and she got some tapes of lullabies. Fox was getting a special crib made for them to use as a bed and bedding. It was gender neutral.

Brooklyn had no idea that he was going to get such a special surprise. The girls were giving it a month before they had it. Maggie said they needed time to finish the blankets. Elisa said that was fine. They were wanting it closer to the due date. The eighth month should suffice enough. The twins were due in November. It was now the end of September.

...

After Thailog had gotten paid from Sevarius, he immediately started looking for the clan. He knew they patrolled nightly. But if Brooklyn was pregnant as he was told, he likely wouldn't be outside their home, but Thailog was determined to find out where they lived.

One night, he found Hudson and Lexington patrolling together and he quietly followed them back to their home, the Eyrie Building. Thailog was intrigued. "Ah! This can work in my favor." He grinned maliciously.

Thailog settled on a building and with binoculars at first, he started to watch the castle for signs of the clan, but specifically Brooklyn.

Brooklyn stayed inside to avoid being sighted most of all. When Thailog did happen to see the others, he was disappointed that the target wasn't showing himself.

Within a few nights, as he spied, he wasn't seeing the red male. He had to get closer and without being spotted by the cameras. Thailog flew over the castle and landed on each tower or section and looked into the windows. He eventually found Brooklyn in the dining hall. He was having a meal of his own while some of his clan was away.

Thailog instantly saw that the red one looked different than the last time he was seen. His stomach was huge! So, Brooklyn was pregnant after all! This intrigued the evil clone that the baby that the red male carried could be more useful to himself than to the humans. He would bide his time.

As for the clan, they were going out all the time. Bronx was usually left at home to be with Brooklyn. The gar dog was beginning to want to stay near Brook a lot more due to his condition. It was just part of Bronx's nature to want to protect a pregnant clan member. Brooklyn relished his company. He even fed Bronx food from his plate too. But at least one clan member also usually stayed behind to watch Brooklyn too.

But on one night, the whole clan went out patrolling together, leaving Brooklyn and Bronx home alone together. There were just some serious crimes going on uptown. There were fires going on and street bashing. The majority of the gargoyles were needed.

Thailog was watching through his binoculars. He smiled. This was what he was waiting for. The whole clan was gone save Bronx. The gar dog wouldn't be a match for him. But he would aim to capture the red male tonight. He took to the air to go find Brooklyn. He had his darts ready, and he aimed to capture him quietly if he could.
