Hello again time for chapter 2. Also unless stated otherwise the story will be from Grim's POV*
After being named by Veldora the three of us began to wander the caves trying to figure out where the damn exit is. During that time we found quite a few non-sapient monsters like me and my dear Amelia/Flora.
also I think I accidentally named the female MC after Flora from Bloodborne but don't expect something along those lines ok?*
But eventually we found a large door that had light shining from underneath it. As we began walking/hopping to it we heard voices and quickly hid. For Rimuru that was easy, he was small. As for me and Flora it was a little harder. Given me and her had gotten larger compared to when we meet Veldora. Being what looked like about the 'teen' stage of Rath growth, apart from just getting large our scales darkened mine being closer to the marron of a normal Rathalos. And Flora's scales becoming a darker green. She also began to grow the Rathian brand quills and my tail spikes had also gotten larger.
So quickly me and Flora leapt up onto the ceiling and held on to it with our talons and claws. After that we stayed quiet and waited for whoever or whatever those voices belonged to, to pass so we can see the sky at last. After some noises that sounded kinda like a lock being opened three humans walked in and began talking.
"About time his sucker opened." Said one that looked somewhat like a typical rouge, "The keyhole is so freaking rusty. It's impossible to use."
Then the second man who had sword on his back then said, "That's no big surprise. This place has been vacant for like 300 years or something."
Then the girl between the two men then spoke, "We should still be careful not to let our guard down."
Which is a good idea given what we've had to fight and us being us. Eventually the trio went invisible through what I assume to be magic. Which might mean that me and Flora might be the only Wyverns who can breath fire and produce poison through actual organs rather than magics. After a few moments and Rimuru sawing something neither me or Flora could hear we headed out through the newly opened door.
Soon we entered a bountiful forest. And of course me and Flora took a quick opportunity to stretch our wings and warm up. While the cave wasn't super cold. Us flying Wyverns aren't really meant to be in the caves.
After about an hour or two of us getting out of the cave a group of goblins appeared. Their gear left much to be desired. Ramshackle weapons and torn clothes. Through the [Royal Bond] skill I could hear Amelia thinking at 100 miles an hour thinking of how she could repair their clothes. But eventually they two also spoke mean they were sapient unlike the monsters back in the the cave.
"Strong Ones. Please forgive me, but do you have some sort of business out here in the forest."
Of course me and Flora understood that he was talking to us but Rimuru being being Rimuru thought he was talking to someone else. However soon he realized that he was talking to us and he responded with a kinda and quiet, "Hi! Nice to meet you all!"
What the Goblins did next was odd however as they immediately bowed. When asked why they were out here they replied with saying that they sensed powerful monsters out here and went to investigate. Eventually they asked us for help.
Apparently since the disappearance of their god's, most likely Veldora, energy the monsters in the great forest of Jura have begun to fight for more territory.
This goblin village we were invited to was under threat from a large pack of Direwolves. They tried fighting them off, however even with a named goblin by the name of Rigurd, who was the son of the village elder and the older brother of the goblin that brought us to the village.
As a form of repayment for our help the goblins would serve us once the direwolves were dealt with. Suddenly we heard a howl and while me and Flora had our heads in the tent to hear the meeting we quickly pulled them out and spun around as the goblins around us began to panic. But we calmed them down by saying we could defeat them.
Quickly a plan was formed using the wood that made the village we built a wooden palisade around where the goblins would be. Meanwhile we would be out fighting the direwolves.
By the time of nightfall the the palisade was complete with Me, Flora, and Rimuru 'standing' outside of it. Soon we began to hear howls and deciding to show these direwolves who the new bosses were me and Flora. For the first time in this new world, roared with all our might drowning the howls of the Direwolves.
Standing at the front of the pack was a white dire wolf with a scar across of of his eyes. Behind him stood a pack of 150 direwolves with two of them flanking the pack leader on either side. One had a black coat with his neck being white he also had a star on his forehead. The other however had a cyan coat with strips of white running along her body, she also had a stark white thunder bolt on her head. Eventually after Rimuru threatened the wolves. They charged at us wanting to tear us and the goblins behind us to shreds.
However they charged right into a trap. Ones laid by the three of us. Pitfalls that had poisonous quills at the bottom that with some urging from Flora the Goblins had plucked off. There were also strings of steel string that cut wolves that ran though them apart. The goblins weren't idle either with ramshackle volleys of arrows flying from the fence and into the few dire wolves that got pass the string and pitfalls. Eventually the pack boss charged at us. Only for me to quickly grab him with my talons and hold him down. I then spoke, "This is your last chance wolf. Stand down and go home. These goblins are under our protection."
However the wolf merely tried biting me which didn't work so I stabbed it to death with my talons. I then proceeded along with Flora to begin eating the wolf. We were hungry, not Deviljho levels but neither of us had eaten since we had gotten out of the cave. Eventually me and Flora, along with Rimuru who he had left the wolf's head for turned to the rest of the pack.
"Your boss is dead, direwolves." My dear Flora said, "Unless you want to be wiped out, go away." Slowly they began to advance at which Rimuru who had consumed the boss's head turned into a large dire wolf and howled at the pack. When they continued their advance we got ready to fight. Only for them all to lay down and surrender.
The next day we held a large meeting of both the goblins and wolves where we told them to group up into pairs, which confused them and when Rimuru said we could name them all. They all got very excited.
Slowly over the next few hours we named the goblins and wolves. They formed two lines. Those who wanted to be named my Rimuru and those who wanted to be named by me and Flora. Our line was very short only having about 50 direwolves and only 10 goblins. But we named them all. One of the wolves however was different from the rest as it was the daughter of the Direwolf boss. When we asked about her loyalities, she pledged with her whole heart to serve me and Flora as her lord and lady. As so we began to think of a name and we conversed through the bond.
"What should we name her my dear." I asked and she replied with a thought.
"To me looks like a Zinogre, at least in coloration." Looking back at the wolf she did have the colors of a Zinogre and as such I thought of a name, "How does Zino sound?" I asked Flora. And while I could feel her giving me a look because of lack of ability to make super original names she liked it.
Looking over to the wolf we said at the same time, "Your name shall be Zino." Zino then glowed gold however soon I started feeling distant.
Looking over to Flora she looked to also be stumbling backwards before she fell over. With a squawk I fell over as well. And then all I saw was black and I heard Zino screaming, "My lords!"
