INT. TARDIS - DAY
The Doctor and Jack stand in the control room of the TARDIS. Jack looks around, wide-eyed, obviously taken aback by the size of the ship.
JACK
Doctor, who are my family?
The Doctor turns and looks at Jack, then looks away. He fiddles with the controls of the TARDIS, seemingly oblivious to Jack's request.
JACK
(more insistent)
Doctor, please. Who are my family?
The Doctor turns his head back to Jack, a sad expression on his face.
DOCTOR
(hesitantly)
I don't know, Jack.
Jack looks away, disappointment on his face.
DOCTOR
(cont'd)
But I'm sure we'll find out.
Jack looks up, hope in his eyes.
CUT TO:
EXT. SPACE - DAY
The TARDIS zooms through space.
INT. TARDIS - DAY
The Doctor and Jack sit in the captain's chair of the TARDIS. James, a young teenaged boy of 16, is desperately trying to find his family.
DOCTOR
(into the radio)
This is the Doctor. Are you receiving me?
The Doctor gets a radio call from Jack's dad, J'son, the King of the Spartax.
J'SON
(over the radio)
Yes, Doctor. I'm here.
DOCTOR
We've found Jack.
J'SON
Hello son it been a long time
