Usagi was wandering the park with her friend Molly when there was a sudden explosion and people started running in fear for the nearest exit. Usagi pushed Molly into the crowd and slowly fell behind until she was able to escape the crowd. Knowing Molly was safely on her way out of the park Usagi knew that she had to stay and do something. Usagi turned and headed toward the explosions unaware of the tails she had acquired.
********Elsewhere in the park ***********
A teenage boy was reading in the park when he got a familiar feeling like someone special was close by, he put the book down and looked around but still couldn't place who the feeling was coming from. Sighing he went back to his book, ever since he moved to Tokyo for high school, he had found this feeling that would draw him to different locations, but he couldn't pinpoint who or what was drawing him. Mamoru brushed his hair out of his face as he turned the page of his family's history book. He missed the ranch, but his parents and sister had made a valid argument that being educated in Tokyo would open more doors and opportunities than if he continued to study at home. Katherine and he had spent the break checking out different apartments and condos and after he made some friends like Motoki he found he enjoyed being in the city. The generals were supposed to be joining him in the fall which would be a welcomed change.
An explosion broke him out of his thoughts and drawing his attention to the chaotic scene that had erupted in the park. The feeling was turning into a determined fear and Mamoru turned and with a strong determination he turned his focus on to locating the source with a renewed sense of urgency.
A black cat with a crescent moon on her forehead watched a blond girl and her red head friend from the trees. Curious the cat followed the blonde as she headed toward the explosions. 'Could this be one of the senshi?' She thought hoping for some sign or indication of who this girl could be.
The girl arrived at the epicenter of the attack and froze as she came face to face with a glowing tree monster that was using it's roots to suck energy from anything and anyone that was unlucky enough to come within reach.
Usagi spotted a family that somehow was unknowingly walking into the park and directly into the path of they energy sucking plant monster. 'I have to do something, but what?'
"Hey, you, plant thingy! Over here!" She yelled as an attempt to get the monsters attention. It did both distract the monster as well as get the attention of the parents who were able to quickly turn and exit the park without becoming prey to the monster.
The monster's attention was now fully on Usagi and it was mid attack before she realized her predicament. As she turned to run as the tree monster's roots reached for her and grabbed her ancle tripped her. Usagi was trying to think of how to get free as her energy was slowly sucked out of her.
A short distance away her two tails both saw the girl fall and begin to glow a golden hue and both charged. The cat took a big bite out of the offending root while the teenage boy pulled the girl several feet away and behind a bush. It was then Usagi's forehead began to glow.
Luna seeing the symbol form on the girl's forehead did a quick flip and carry a compact broach to the girl who was barely conscious. "There isn't much time you need to wake up and call Moon Prism Power."
Usagi groggily and possibly thinking it was a dream grabbed the broach and did as the strange cat told her to do. "Moon Prism Power" Usagi floated up, where a kaleidoscope of magic, colors, and ribbons transformed her into ….
Standing tall with a sudden burst of energy and newly transformed she introduced herself, "I am Sailor Moon the guardian of love and justice. In the name of the moon, I will punish you."
The forgotten teenage boy's eyes went wide in shock *Kat! Kat, I think I found her…* he sent telepathically before he transformed into his alter ego and found a spot in the high ground.
*Found who? * Came back but was ignored as Sailor Moon had engaged the monster and Tuxedo Mask was attempting to distract the monster.
"Sailor Moon, use your tiara and say Moon Tiara Magic" Called the black cat.
Sailor Moon found a place to plant her feet and reached for her tiara, "Moon …." She started as the monster grabbed her ankle again. But just as quickly has it grabbed her it let go as she turned and saw a rose sticking from the root. "Now, Sailor Moon" came a masculine voice.
Grabbing for her tiara again she called out "Moon Tiara Magic!" She called as she tossed her tiara at the monster which froze and, in a scream, turned to dust.
"Well done Sailor Moon. I am Luna. I am a lunar guardian from silver millennium sent to guide you on your mission to protect the planet and find our Princess."
Tuxedo Mask who seemed all but forgotten by the two females, sat on a branch listening as they talked. Sailor Moon let her transformation fall before kneeling and petting Luna, "I am too tired to process this right now. Come on you can come spend the night with me and we can talk tomorrow. By the way who was that guy?"
"I don't know. You should be careful around him until we know more about him." Mamoru let his transformation fall as he laughed at Luna's warning. "What is your name?"
"I am Usagi Tsukino."
"Usagi Tsukino," Whispered Mamoru to himself silently following them to find out more about this mysterious girl who he seemed connected to.
After following the girl and cat for as long as he could mange without getting caught, Mamoru headed to his apartment and lay down on his bed thinking about the blonde angel and if she could be the Princess from his dreams.
Mamoru was awoken the next morning by someone pounding on his door. "Endymion Mamoru Rhea! Open this door before I break it down." Came a familiar voice.
Mamoru rubbed his eyes and telepathically said * Okay. Kat give me a minute. Why are you even here?*
*Because you idiot have been blocking and ignoring me all night!* Came an annoyed reply.
Mamoru got out of bed pulled on a robe and unlocked the apartment door. "Sorry, Kat. I had a very interesting night."
"Last thing you sent said you thought that you found HER. Who is HER?" Kat asked her brother as she grabbed the kettle and a couple mugs from the cupboard,
"Serenity. I think I may have found Serenity. However, if you ask Luna I don't think she would agree but then again she did tell Usagi that she was Sailor Moon." Mamoru rambled dreamily.
"Serenity? Serenity is here? Luna as in the Queen's advisor? Luna? Who is Usagi? And Sailor Moon? I don't recall there ever being a sailor senshi of the Moon." Katherine questioned as she tried to keep up.
"Yes, every part of me tells me that I have found Serenity. And yes the Queen's advisor Lady Luna in her feline form gave Usako a broach that transformed her into Sailor Moon. Usako is Serenity's identity in this time and I don't recall a senshi of the moon either which is why I think that Luna is confused." Mamoru answered almost on auto-pilot and completely unaware of the change from Usagi to Usako as he went.
"Usagi or Usako? Are they the same person? Or are we talking about two separate girls?" Katherine said sliding one of the mugs of oocha toward her brother as she pointed out his slip of the tongue in giving the girl a affectionate nickname.
Mamoru just looked deep into his tea and blushed slightly. Katherine gave her brother some time as she took a drink of her tea, "Wait. Hold on a second. Endy, why did Luna awaken Sailor Moon?"
"Oh, there was a youma."
"A Youma! And you didn't lead with that?" She paused giving him time to answer. "Baka. Hey, lover boy, go get dressed and we will go get breakfast. May as well have a fun day as I came into the city already."
Mamoru nodded blissfully as he headed to his room to get dressed. Returning in dress pants while buttoning up a short sleeve white dress shirt. Katherine stifled a giggle as after several years of living in the City she knew his clothes were more formal than most wore on a weekend.
The two siblings cleaned up the dishes, locked the door and headed to the café for breakfast. Katherine was about to suggest some activities when she noticed a blonde girl who appeared to be talking to a cat. 'Could that be Serenity and Luna?' she thought as she nudged Mamoru and nodded toward the girl. The look on his face as soon as he spotted her told her that it was the girl in question. 'She definitely fits the description of the Princess and that does resemble Lady Luna's cat form'
Katherine took a quick look around before leaving the table and coming up behind the blonde girl and feigning a trip and falling onto the young girl. "Oh, my I am so sorry. I am running late to meet my brother and tripped on the step. Please allow me to buy you a smoothie as an apology."
*Kat, what are you doing?*
*Nothing…* Katherine replied as she continued her conversation and leading Usagi over to the table with Mamoru.
'Is that the boy from last night?' Usagi asked as she took a seat at the table.
Katherine appeared with smoothies and said, "Endy, I am so sorry for being late." As she winked. "I latterly ran into Usagi here. As in an apology for tripping over her I am buying her a smoothie. Usagi this is my brother Endymion but he prefers to go by Mamoru."
Katherine laughed at Mamoru as he blushed and stumbled to find his words. "You look familiar, Mamoru. Do you like spending time in Juban park?" Usagi asked trying to fill in the awkward silence.
"Ah, yes. Since moving here the park is my favorite place to read. "Mamoru said with a smile. "Were you there yesterday? That was crazy and scary."
"Yeah, I heard a monster attacked near the pond. "Usagi added. Mamoru looked up and noticed the broach on Usagi's blouse. 'She is Sailor Moon'
Katherine smiled as she noticed her brother opening and the moon on her cat was a dead giveaway that it was a lunar guardian. *I agree. That cat is Lady Luna but be careful how much you reveal to her as I don't think either of them have their memories. *
Suddenly Usagi changed topics and asked, "Do you believe in past lives?"
"I … I guess. I never really thought about it," Mamoru said nervously.
"What about your Rhea? That is what you like to be called isn't it?" Usagi asked acknowledging the Earth Princess for the first time since the smoothies arrived.
"Yes, I go by Rhea it is kind of a family nickname. As for past lives I used to dream that I was a Princess warrior that travelled the galaxy protecting earth from enemies. They seemed so real I swore they were memories."
Usagi looked up and saw the time. "Shoot," she said standing up knocking Luna's sleeping form from her lap. "I am sorry I just realized the time and I was supposed to meet my tutor fifteen minutes ago." And with that Usagi bolted away from the café with Luna chasing after her.
Mamoru sighed and looked longingly after the blonde girl. Katherine laughed. "You better hope that she is Serenity and not Lady Venus as you seem to have it so bad."
Mamoru just shook his head he had forgotten about Lady Venus. "I am curious, Kat. Do you think that Sailor V could be Lady Venus as Usagi is Sailor Moon. I saw her broach."
"That sounds logical. I can check the computer when I get home and let you know my findings."
"That would be great, Kat. Could you also confirm about Sailor Moon?" Mamoru asked as the siblings got up, cleared the bill and headed to the arcade.
Usagi stopped and ducked into an alleyway. Luna arrived beside her, "Usagi, what is wrong? You didn't tell me anything about a tutor."
Usagi knelt and started petting her cat companion. "I don't have tutoring… at least not today."
"Then why did you race off like that?"
"I don't know. Mamoru is so handsome and reminds me of this Prince I have dreamed about. But Rhea's answer stirred something, some memory buried deep in my subconscious. You were telling me earlier about this morning about the silver millennium could they be connected to it as well?"
Luna bowed her head and licked her paw before looking up at her new charge. "I don't know. It is possible but just as I said last night about Tuxedo Mask; we should proceed with caution."
