Nico awoke in a hospital, and he nearly had a heart attack. Okay, what the hell?

This was very clearly not the building ruins he was in before. Ahaha.. What if this was the potato man's work? But nothing felt odd. Except the fact of a very new addition: handcuffs. Except these seemed to be meant to do something? But he wasn't sure it worked.

He blankly stared at it for a few more seconds before coming to a realization. Quirks! Powers or whatever! Clearly this was meant for criminals. Probably.

Were they meant to be.. Quirk nullifiers? But he had zero clue how that'd work. He felt a little too dumb for this. Especially trying to figure out the logistics of powers and explosions from hands and whatnot.

The demigod's head shot up instantly just as the door opened, and he was immediately on edge. A man in a trenchcoat. He didn't seem like he had ill intentions..?

"I'm detective Tsukauchi. You were found in the ruins of Kamino Ward. According to other statements though, your name is Nico di Angelo. Now, that's not a very Japanese name, but the ones we could find don't share either your characteristics, or your quirk."

Nico grimaced. "And you're here for my statement."

"I am. I'd think it's important when an unknown person appears out of nowhere."

"Right. Could you.. Tell me what happened? I passed out before I could see much."

"The villain you had fought has been contained, and transferred to Tartarus. If you didn't know, it's a prison meant for holding the worst of the worst. No one gets in or out without extensive security checks."

He nodded along with that. "Okay.. I guess, uhm. What do you want to know?" How much should he say? If.. potato man was in jail, then good. Except he itched to take him down himself. No matter if his duties may not exist here, he is still the son of Hades, and his job is to maintain death, and the underworld.

All For One shouldn't be alive.

"Who are you, how old are you, and why were you there?"

"..Nico. You already know my last name, so I won't bother to repeat it. I'm.. 15? I.. was there because Bakugo, the blonde guy, had been warped by some kind of.. sludge..? I was worried, so I.. followed the people..?"

"Is that your quirk?"

"Y-Yeah?"

Tsukauchi frowned all of a sudden. "For the record, my quirk is called 'lie detector'. It essentially makes me a living lie detector. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you would speak the truth around me."

Ahaha…..

"Then no..?"

The detective didn't push on that topic. "And why were you there with Bakugo?"

"I.. don't know?" He furrowed his eyebrows as he thought back to what had happened all the way before, and he shivered at the reminder of All For One's words. "Uhm.. Would you believe me if I said I was kidnapped because the potato man wanted my powers, but he just ended up warping me in a room nearby for whatever reason?"

Tsukauchi very noticeably paled, cursing under his breath. "..I see. My apologies, this is much more complicated than it has to be. You see, All For One, the villain you encountered, has the ability to steal and give away quirks." ..could it work on him? After all, All For One had seemed to know who he was. If not a son of Hades, then rather the Ghost King.

"I would've hoped that you could've just been a random civilian. It seems that hope is unfounded. Considering you don't exist anywhere, and have no guardians, you would have to be taken in for witness protection. Especially because of who is after you. But there's only one man who can counter All For One, and that is All Might. Considering he's a teacher at Yuuei, you'll have to become a ward there."

Nico blinked, taking that info dump in. Of course when the Fates stop screwing his and his friends' lives over, he ends up in the future with a villain after him and has to take refuge in what he assumed to be a school? With.. other kids?

"Yuuei? Is that a school? Don't you think it'd only put a target on the students there if I was being protected there?" He'd like to add that he didn't need protection, but at this rate, everything was foreign to him, and this detective was the closest thing he could get to understanding his enemy.

Tsukauchi stared at him with wide eyes, before shaking his head. "Ah, right. It's not often that someone hasn't heard of Yuuei. Yuuei is a hero school, filled with hero teachers, and heroes-in-training. Considering your age and circumstances, you'll be put in with the 2nd years, with Class 2-A, which will also have Bakugo Katsuki."

He grimaced. He wasn't sure what to think about 'heroes'. He didn't want to bring kids into this, but there wasn't much he could do on his own. He'd just have to trust the adults, not that he's met many that don't try to kill him. ..And some may or may not have been teachers.

"..Okay." Nico simply responded, unsure of what else to say.

"That'll be all. Your teachers will be checking up on you later to speak to you about it. Unless you have any more questions?"

"Uhm.. Could I get the cuffs off?"

The detective nodded, seemingly pulling out a key out of nowhere and unlocking them. "They were just a safety precaution though, and considering we had no clue if you could've been drugged in some way had to lay off of quirk suppressants."

Nico rubbed at his wrists, lost in how he should feel about those implications.

He already hated this.

How was he gonna handle a class of hero hopefuls? He didn't even know what kids his age liked! Not since the casino..

After Tsukauchi left, he groaned, facepalming. Please, let this be a dream.

The door opened again, and this time he found himself staring at a guy who looked homeless, but also not.

He could already feel how draining the conversation was going to be.

"I want to sleep." He muttered, causing the man to snort.

"Mood."

A blonde guy (more yellow-er than Bakugo's. Is that a thing? Do people categorize blondes by its yellow?) with also-yellow-tinted glasses elbowing him in the side in what seemed to be faux annoyance. Or was it more 'knock it off'? "Shou.."

..Kill him now. Aghh.
