Tender Moments
Zandar smiled fondly as he walked into the bedroom he shared with his wife. Hildegard sat on their bed with a mountainous pile of pillows behind her, the top of her nightgown partially undone as she nursed their newborn son. Her hair was a bit messy, but her face was full of tenderness as she watched the tiny boy she held in her arms.
It was moments like these that made the prince's heart swell with love for her. Hildegard was no longer the vain, spoiled princess who only cared about what she wanted. Over the years, she had become less selfish and more loving. This change had been especially evident when the baby was born a little over a week ago. People say having a baby changes everything, and Zandar could wholeheartedly agree.
She looked up and smiled in welcome. "How was the party?"
"It was awesome," he responded. He walked to the dresser and removed his turban, setting it down. "They asked about you, by the way."
"Oh," she shrugged one shoulder. "There are far more important things in the world than going to parties." She smiled softly at the baby greedily sucking at her breast. "Like taking care of our son."
Zandar chuckled as he walked to his side of the bed, sitting down to take off his shoes before scooting close to her. He kissed the top of the baby's head then gave his wife a sweet kiss on the lips. He had always admired Hildegard, but he loved the person she was now. It was truly amazing how much she had changed over the years. And he felt blessed to be married to her.
A/N: Zandegard hardly ever get any stories, so I decided to write for them.
