When trust is questioned
Chapter 2
9 p.m.
Angela is still sitting in her office room. There's a knock on the door. "Yes please" completely out of her thoughts, she looks at the door. Roger walks in. "Angela, now it's really late, I also read the sample texts, I like them very much, wonderful. You are really good at writing".
Angela blushes slightly, "thank you very much" "You're right, it's late, so I'll still manage to catch the train" Angela gets up, packs up the notes, put them on the right shelf. She goes to the door, Roger is still standing there, watching her. He looks at her with satisfaction, because he has achieved a lot today and feels appreciated.
Angela looks exhausted but happy, she walks past Roger, perceives his perfume. ... It smells really good...
Roger is still standing there, his eyes following her, he too perceives her scent... heavenly.
He feels an attraction... a really beautiful woman, really beautiful, he thinks, a smile settles on his lips.
Angela goes to the cloakroom, takes her coat, Roger follows her, he takes his jacket and his leather briefcase. "So, Roger, we'll see us tomorrow morning..." Angela is about to leave when Roger says "wait, I'll take you home if that's okay, I'm going in the same direction anyway, it wouldn't be a detour for me and a lady like you shouldn't have to take the train alone so late."!
".. oh no Roger thank you but I don't want to use your service so much, that's really very polite but nothing will happen to me"
"Angela, I insist," Angela looks at him, shy but sincere, she nods, because she can't refuse his request, which is so internal.
Roger was one of those men with whom you felt comfortable, collegial as well as human, he radiated that. He was very attentive and polite. Angela noticed that, she had never felt that before, with Tony after a short time, but with Roger somehow faster. She has the feeling that she can open up to him faster, he seems very trustworthy this made her feel good.
Both leave the office building. It has started to rain. "Damn, no umbrella with me" Angela looks frustrated, Roger, a gentleman as he is, moves closer to Angela, holds up his jacket so that it reaches over her head and keeps her dry and says "this is how it will go, come on let's hurry, my car is here a block at the corner" Angela blushes, follows him, half under his jacket, sensing his scent.
They both reach his car. And get in. Roger is now quite wet from the rain, his dark brown hair falls wet over his eye, rain runs down his angular chin, down his neck. His shirt is also wet from the rain. You can only see now how muscular he is. Angela, can't resist staring.
Roger looks at her slightly from the side, Angela has hardly received any rain. Her legs crossed over each other, the skirt slit reveals the beauty of her legs. He can't look away. He turns his head to her, a sparkle in his eyes that he has to pull himself together to resist the temptation to touch her, to touch her sexy legs, he now feels the attraction is back, stronger. He looks into her eyes... "We could have done that, you got into the car dry, that's the main thing". He laughs.
"Yes," says Angela, looking away quickly. Turns red again... What's wrong with me... What is Tony supposed to think of me staring at Roger, immorally...
"Roger, you're completely wet, I'm very sorry..."
It rains more heavily during this time, monsoon-like. "Not too bad Angela, it's drying again, just we should wait a bit, it's raining so hard I can't see the road. Before anything else happens"!
Angela joins in and nods.
There is silence in the air.
"So, Roger, tell me something about yourself" Angela breaks the silence because it makes her uncomfortable.
"You know that from my application... otherwise I like sushi, I like sports, I love adventures..." he quickly changes the subject. "Angela, you'd better tell me about yourself, you're my boss but on a certain relationship level I still want to know more about you" .
Angela looks out of the window, the rain doesn't let up, it's cold in the car, she folds her hands together in her lap. Roger notices this, he turns on the heating.
He's really attentive... like Tony, but different. Trains of thought in her head she replies "so I have a son, Jonathan, he's great... my housekeeper Tony and his daughter Samantha stay with us and help, they have been in our life for a very long time and we are the best of friends" There is a slight sparkle in her eyes, not a glow, because this is slightly clouded by the incident with Kathleen.
Roger wonders what kind of man he is, this Tony... friendship? OK... And how long have you been living together, why do you live together? very peculiar…
Silence again.
Roger smiles and looks at her again, questioningly. Should he ask more deeply...
Angela goes on to say "I was married, unfortunately it didn't last, yes... well" she looks to the side, slightly ashamed, as if you had given a baby dog a clap.
"The rain is now subsiding, we can go, the road is far away, otherwise we won't be home until midnight, not that anyone is worried"
He had noticed her displeasure, and quickly diverted attention from the subject.
They drive off, but they don't get far at the many traffic lights and construction sites that are on every corner. Angela's butt hurts from sitting so that she slides back and forth on her car seat. the skirt slit goes higher, remarked by Roger, who has trouble concentrating on the road...
Angela noticed Roger's looks and was slightly startled by the scharm "oh god... sorry... I..." She couldn't say more. She pulled her skirt down a little and pressed her legs together. She put her hands on her lap so that there could be no more insights. Roger quickly looked away. A one-sided grin crossed his face, but he didn't say anything.
The ride went on for what felt like an eternity, because in such situations you just want to get out and run away... One embarrassing or rather unpleasant situation followed the next. As Roger shifted gears and rounded the corner, Angela was slightly over to his side, her thighs pressing against the back of his hand. A slight twitch came over him and the heat rose...
Angela quickly took her legs to the other side, it can't get any worse.
Roger liked it, he didn't let it show and remained steadfast. Again and again Angela looked over at him to see what he might think of her...
what she thinks of him...
He was very warm at that moment, he would like to turn down the heating but Angela was still cold... typically women. So at least his shirt dried a little faster!
At last they had arrived at their house. "Oh, a beautiful house Angela," Roger replied. "Thank you Roger and thank you for bringing it here!".
The rain had stopped. He got out and opened the car door for her, her long legs in front of her, she got out and smiled at him. He smiled back. Angela walked towards the front door, "See you tomorrow Roger." ... what a ride...
"See you tomorrow Angela"... Roger replied ... what a ride he thought and grinned.
Angela enters the house, takes off her coat and hangs it on the coat rack, she turned around and scared "Oh Tony!, you still awake?" With wide eyes and a hand in front of her chest, breathing faster, she stands there petrified.
Tony laughs, "yes Angela, I've been waiting, everything is ok, it's late, has something happened?"
She looks at him questioningly, "um no, no, no, nothing happened. It was a busy day, nothing more. Roger drove me home."
"Roger, aha..." Tony looks at her, questioning, slightly jealous.
"yes Tony, my new colleague. It was very nice of him to drive me home, otherwise I wouldn't be home in 2 hours!" "I'm going to bed, I'm really exhausted".
Without hesitation, she goes up the stairs, Tony looks after her, he was hoping for more conversation…
