"Of all the warriors who have entered this arena, none can compete with these two titans of death." Wiz starts the episode with this statement.
"Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta who single handedly annihilated Olympus." Wiz introduces one fighter.
"And Spawn, who managed to dethrone both Satan and God." Boomstick introduces the other.
Neither team knew what Olympus or Satan was, but the fact Wiz called them "titans of death" indicated these two were the deadliest and most vicious contestants of all.
"I'm Wizard and he's Boomstick, and it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win… a Death Battle."
"Kratos is a demigod, raised among the Spartans as their greatest warrior, until one day, his people were threatened to be overrun. It was then he struck a deal with Ares, the God of War. Ares would give him the strength to protect his people; in return, Kratos would serve as Ares' champion warrior." Wiz explains.
"Kratos became super powerful and really vicious." Boomstick says.
"I sense a 'but' coming." Blake says.
"But was tricked by Ares into killing his own family. But hey, he saved some money on child support and divorce!"
"That's terrible…" Ren said, being someone who give nearly everything to have his family back.
"Poor Kratos…" Ruby, feeling sorry for the Spartan.
"That's why you don't make deals with supernatural deities." Blake says, Kratos' story Being similar to a man in one of her books.
"As the white, hot ashes of his family clung permanently to his skin-"
"Just like Michael Jackson!"
"-his quest for vengeance against the gods of Olympus began."
"Talk about rubbing salt into the wound." Yang says, adding to everyone's sympathy for him.
"Having to be reminded of what did every time you look in a mirror sounds awful…" Weiss says.
"As a demigod, Kratos possesses great strength, speed, and endurance. He can survive a pummeling from a Titan and best the power of Hercules." Wiz goes over Kratos' endurance.
"Kratos wields the Blades of Exile, twin short swords bound to his arms by chains. The blades have a hook design that Kratos can use to cut right through his enemies, or snag them and whip 'em around. And like most badass weapons, they can somehow emit fire."
Ruby gasped. "THATS AWESOME!"
Blake watched Kratos' precision with intrigue, as they're in a way similar to Gambol Shroud. Even Pyrrha was impressed with Kratos' abilities.
"Kratos is well trained in sword combat and possesses what may be the most powerful sword the Greek gods have to offer: the Blade of Olympus."
"Look at that beauty." Jaune saying what Pyrrha wishes he would say about her.
"I'm more of a firearm type of gal, but I wouldn't mind taking that for a ride." Yang says while Ruby's eyes sparkled.
"After Kratos killed Ares… uhhh, spoiler, he was made the God of War. But Zeus tricked him into putting all his godly powers into his sword, making him mortal once again."
"Again? He got tricked again?" Weiss questioned.
"You would think the gods would stop messing with him after he killed one already." Ren says.
"Ooh, I bet he breaks their legs!" Nora says happily.
"I think he plans on doing more than break their legs, Nora." Pyrrha mentions.
"And making the Blade of Olympus a deadly harbinger of death to even the toughest Olympians. His most versatile defense in his Golden Fleece, armor capable of blocking powerful blows and deflecting magical attacks." Wiz goes on.
"But there's a whole lot more to this guy's arsenal, like the Bow of Apollo, which can shoot a rapid stream of arrows or charge up deadly fire arrows." Boomstick says.
Pyrrha couldn't tell why, but seeing the Bow of Apollo sent a shiver down her spine.
"Then there's the Claws of Hades, which mercilessly rip the souls out of their victims, though tough opponents like Kratos can resist them."
"The Nemean Cestus are giant ultra strong gauntlets which can stun foes with brutal shockwaves."
"Woah! Those are so cool" Ruby geeks out by the amount of weapons Kratos uses. "I want to try them out."
"I don't know, Ruby, those look like they weigh a lot. I don't see you even being able to lift them." Weiss says to her leader.
"Ohhh… why you gotta crush a girl's dreams like that..?" Ruby asked sadly.
"The Boots of Hermes give him superhuman speed, and when battling the infamous Icarus, he ripped those huge wings off the old fool's back and took them for his own, giving him powers of flight."
"Holy crap, that's a lot of weapons! I like this guy!" Boomstick says.
"ME TOO!" Ruby yelled in excitement.
"Kratos is not invincible, but he is very difficult to kill."
"Hell, he can't even kill himself!" Boomstick says as we see footage of Kratos impaling himself with the Blade of Olympus.
"In his rage, he tore apart the ranks of Mount Olympus and slaughtered every god upon and below it… except for Aphrodite."
"For obvious reasons!" Aphrodite appears onscreen with "reason #1" and "reason #2" covering her breasts.
Weiss facepalmed.
"It seems even powerful demigods aren't immune to being perverts." Weiss says in annoyance.
"Weiss, I've seen the way you look at Neptune. You aren't either." Blake says causing Weiss to blush.
"W-w-w-what?"
"In doing so, he ultimately brought about the end of the world. Without the power of the gods to keep the chaos in check, the apocalypse had arrived, and its vanguard was Kratos."
"Oh… well that's rather grim." Pyrrha comments.
"I was trying to make you a great warrior." Ares pleads with Kratos.
"You succeeded." Kratos responds before he impales Ares with the Blade of Olympus.
"Hehehe, puny God." Nora chuckled.
"He's so badass! I like him! There's no way he's losing this fight." Yang says, putting her bet on Kratos early.
"I wouldn't say that just yet, Yang. Spawn must be just as deadly if they pit him against Kratos." Blake says.
"But… all those weapons." Ruby mutters.
"Al Simmons was trained to be a deadly, stealthy soldier and assassin, and proved numerous times he was the best of the best." Wiz introduces Spawn, or rather, Al Simmons. "But when his morality got the better of him, his boss terminated his contract… permanently."
That got a glare from everyone. Yang's eyes turned red from anger.
"There's few people in this world I hate more than a backstabber." She says.
"What does he mean by 'his morality got the better of him'?" Ruby asked hesitantly.
"They might have had a mission Al didn't agree with, and when he spoke up about it, they killed him…" Jaune theorized.
"Despicable." Blake sat with disgust.
"That's when Simmons met Malebolgia, one of the Demon Lords of Hell, who struck a deal with him." Boomstick continued. "He'd get to see his wife again if he became captain of Hell's armies. He agreed and was reborn as a Hellspawn. But as with most demons, it tricked him, leaving Spawn with a fate worse than death. And of course, Spawn swore revenge!"
"Yeah, seems pretty par for the course." Yang says.
"Being a Hellspawn, he has superhuman strength and speed. He is nearly invulnerable and can use his own powers to heal and regenerate." Wiz explains.
"In addition, Spawn can feed off the evil auras of others for the same effect. It really saves him on band-aids!" Boomstick jokes.
"He wears a living parasitic symbiotic suit named Leetha of the 7th House of K."
"Leetha has ridiculous powers. Basically, anything she or Spawn wants to happen can happen. The suit can create and control chains, claws, spikes, and morph itself into pretty much anything Spawn wants, like a badass cape that can drag enemies and protect Spawn from all sorts of danger."
"I gotta get me one of those…" Jaune said in amazement.
"That sounds really cool and all, but I don't think I like the idea of wearing a living thing." Yang admitted with a chill.
"Speak for yourself sister! The weapons I could just create with that!" Ruby said, geeking out.
"The suit has a mind of its own, and can operate while Spawn focuses on other parts of the battle." Wiz went further. "It is strong enough to easily smash through brick, and fast enough to block bullets. However, Leetha feeds off necroplasm energy when using the suit's powers, a hellish matter which Spawn is entirely composed of. If Leetha uses too much, Spawn will be sent back to Hell. However, like Spawn, Leetha can also feed off the evil and sin of others."
"Spawn's also got tons of magic powers. He can teleport, transform, blow things up, turn invisible, alter matter, talk to animals, fly with his cape, read minds, and open portals to Heaven and Hell. Ho-oly crap!" Boomstick said.
Both teams were in astonishment over the abilities of Spawn and his suit.
"How is anybody supposed to compete with that?!" Jaune questioned.
"'How many powers do you want this guy to have'? 'Yes.'" Yang joked.
"And he can control the elements, often using fire and water to defeat swarms of enemies. However, even with these godlike abilities, Spawn usually resorts to his most primitive weapon. As he was trained in Special Forces for so long, Spawn is most comfortable using a gun. He is an expert in the use of nearly any firearm imaginable." Wiz explains.
"Ah, somebody who has an appreciation for the classics." Ruby said.
"Pfft, imagine being able to do all that, and using a gun." Nora pointed out.
"Only two things can break through Spawn's defenses and hurt him: Necro-magic and holy weapons forged in Heaven. In addition, he can only die if he's beheaded." Boomstick explained.
"It's a good thing he's a good guy, can you imagine this guy being a villain." Jaune says.
"He's practically invincible. If he were to come to Remnant, none of us would stand a chance." Blake said.
"Kratos' only chance may be using the Blade of Olympus as it's the only one of his weapons with godly powers." Ren points out.
"I may need to take back what I said about Kratos winning this. Spawn sounds like he may be too much." Yang admits.
"Spawn killed all sorts of powerful enemies." Wiz continues. "Assassins, cyborgs, vampires, ghosts, Angels, Demons, other Hellspawn, rampaging deities, even Satan and God. Yes, that old lady is the God."
"Really? God looks like my nana… Am I a demigod?"
"No, you are not!" Weiss says with a facepalm.
"And after being granted unlimited power from the Mother of all things, Spawn banished God and Satan from the earth, which he wiped clean and rebuilt in his own image. He then willingly sacrificed his own God powers and eventually returned to his Hellspawn form."
"Oh, why the hell would he do that? He must've been really bored!"
A wall is seen blowing up onscreen and the smoke clears to reveal Spawn holding two firearms.
"Knock, knock!" Spawn lets everyone know he's here.
"Dammit, that line would've been so good when I went into that nightclub!" Yang says, causing everyone to look at her peculiarly. "You know… to get information about Torchwick of course."
"I heard a story about a nightclub being attacked by a girl with blonde hair, was that you?" Pyrrha questions.
"Uhhhhhhhhh… Hey look, the fight is about to start!"
"Alright, the combatants are set, let's end this debate once and for all." Wiz says.
"It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!" Boomstick yells.
In an ancient underground palace lit by torchlights, Kratos marches up a staircase before turning around to see Spawn appear in a flash of green flame behind him, whipping out his Blades of Exile.
FIGHT!
Spawn doesn't move a muscle as Leetha summons several chains to attack Kratos, which he blocks and slices through for a few moments. Eventually, Spawn pulls a large gun and starts shooting Kratos, who defends himself by crossing the Blades in front of him. He quickly swipes a blade to disarm Spawn, but misses his next swing as Spawn teleports behind him, landing a blow before getting stabbed by a Blade. He is dragged forward only to be kicked back by Kratos.
"Ooh, okay, good start so far." Yang says.
"Kratos is holding his own so far despite Spawn's abilities." Pyrrha mentions.
"I think Spawn may be more powerful, but Kratos is a more skilled fighter, and possibly more vicious. He may need to rely on that to finish Spawn." Blake says.
"Off with his head!" Nora says, cheering for Kratos.
Spawn lands at the foot of the stars and barely dodges a leaping attack by Kratos. He follows Spawn into the next room, but doesn't see his opponent.
Spawn lowers his invisibility and leaps from the wall he was hanging on the kick at Kratos. Spawn's punches send Kratos airborne, then uses his teleportation and speed to deliver more blows to get Kratos flying.
Flying quickly, Spawn sees Kratos at the foot of another staircase, and hurls a ball of energy at Kratos, which he sends back at Spawn. Kratos hooks Spawn and brings him down the stairs, then uses his Nemean Cestus to knock Spawn into the next room.
"I really like this fight so far." Jaune says.
"Kratos is holding his own for the moment." Weiss says.
The blow's force pushes Spawn to the edge of a gap between two sections, which he floats over as Kratos reaches him, laughing and shooting more energy blasts at Kratos. He deflects them away with the Golden Fleece before summoning the Icarus Wings and tackling Spawn to the other side. While Kratos hangs on the ledge, Spawn leaps up and prepares to deliver a blow.
"You're pissing me off." Spawn warns Kratos.
"Uh oh. He's getting mad." Ruby says.
"Ooh, I bet Kratos is shaking in his… loincloth?" Nora says sarcastically.
But before Spawn can attack, Kratos grabs him with the Blades and they both fall into the pit.
The two land safely at the bottom, Kratos pulling out the Bow of Apollo and shooting arrows at Spawn behind the defense of his cape, finally charging up the next arrow. Spawn uses his elemental control make the flame engulf Kratos, then launches a necroplasm grenade in the fire, exploding in bursts of smoke.
"Well, he put up a good fight." Jaune says, thinking that it's over.
Kratos, however, jumps from the blaze with the Blade of Olympus in hand, nearly striking the teleporting Spawn, then easily cutting through Leetha's chains and stabbing Spawn through the chest.
"He got him!" Nora cheers.
"But he isn't beheaded." Ren reminds his friend.
"Oh no…" Nora freezes up.
He remains still for a moment before teleporting off the Blade, behind Kratos, and holding him in the air by his head, draining his evil energy in a flash of green.
"DIE!" Spawn simply tells Kratos before creating a large spike in his hand through Kratos' head, killing the Ghost of Sparta.
K.O.!
"Aaahhhh, man. Here comes the rage from the God of War fanboys!" Boomstick says.
"Kratos is a very difficult one to beat, but Spawn's magical powers and near indestructible body proved too much for him." Wiz explains.
"Yeah, normally, that last attack would've meant the end for his opponent, but not Spawn!"
"And while much of Kratos' arsenal was forged by Olympians, Olympus is composed of Earthly elements, and is not another plane of existence like Heaven, so it stands to reason none of the Olympian weapons would kill Spawn."
"Except the Blade of Olympus, but it wasn't enough."
"Plus, Spawn and his suit had plenty of evil energy to feed on during the fight, since Kratos is literally covered in his past sins."
"Well, that was one Hell of a fight!"
"The winner is Spawn."
"I really liked that one." Yang said. "Those two were badasses."
"Well this has been fun, but I think we should get some rest." Pyrrha says.
"I agree." Weiss says. "We have classes tomorrow."
"Ohhh, but I want to watch more!" Ruby protested.
"Come on, Ruby. We need our rest." Yang told her sister.
"Oh, sleep is for the weak!" Nora declares, just before she falls back into the arms of Ren dead asleep.
"We can watch more tomorrow, Ruby." Jaune told her.
"You promise?"
"Definitely."
