Tula sat next to Kagome as she ate some soup slowly. His mother watched unimpressed.

"The other is pregnant,"

"Not mine,"

"Clearly, but why not?"

"She did nothing for me,"

His mother scoffed "So what,"

"It does not matter,"

"So she did nothing for you but the human did?"

"Um, hello this human can hear you," Kagome pointed out.

His mother looked at her, arms crossed "Sesshomaru," His mother did not look away from Kagome,

"This is but a mere complication, I see no reason no not to send for another, you still need a full-blood child,"

Kagome put her spoon down and stood and walked away without a word.

"Miko, where are you going?" Sesshomaru asked, she was still running a fever.

"Away," She snapped,

"You will grow sicker," his mother stated,

"Well then I guess I'll just have to be sick for a bit can't be any worse than being near you!"

Tula's mouth dropped open as Kagome opened the door, left, and closed it behind her.

His mother was quite impressed "Foolish," She stated, but she would give the girl credit for the bravery.

Sesshomaru moved to follow, but his mother's hand stopped him. "Leave her,"

He looked at his mother's hand. "I must be close,"

"Why?"

"My lady, she will become very ill, the baby does not stand a chance without his lordship," Tula dared to speak making his mother look at her "Why he allows you here is beyond me, dont speak to me,"

She looked back at her son "Do you care, so she loses the baby, problem solved,"

He didn't say anything "Perhaps your father's lessons are making you weak,"

She finally said it; he knew it.

"Are you here to aid or to kill, mother?"

She removed her hand "I suppose you are honor bond, but what I say stand, send for others,"

"As you wish," It was a bad idea, yet what reason did he have to deny what she was saying? Perhaps he was growing weak, he was hesitating because of Kagome?

Ridiculous.

He went to find Kagome.

She was back in the room, on the balcony, letting the wind run through her hair. She needed air.

He stood behind her.

"Did you bring her here to punish me for some reason," She asked,

"She will aid us,"

Kagome looked back at him "She's done nothing but insult me, I would not call that helping,"

"Your very being insults her,"

Kagome looked away. "Yeah, well, right back at her,"

"You forget she has done this before,"

Kagome's shoulder went lax; she forgot.

"You do not allow me to win; why would you allow her to?"

Was he actually being nice?

"You call this winning?"

"She calls it weakness,"

Kagome looked down. "Then I am weak too; we were weak together," It wasn't all his fault.

She looks back "I guess we need to prove her wrong?"

"Indeed," Though he wondered, did Kagome see him as weak too?

"Are you?" Kagome looked away "Going to do what she said?"

"I see no reason to sustain,"

She said nothing,

"Are you jealous?"

She spun around, "Why would I be jealous!?"

He wanted to smirk, but didnt "Would you care if I was," She walked by him "Dont answer that," She already knew the answer anyway. She sighed, while he had his moments she had to remind herself he wasn't a good guy, he wasn't here because he wanted to be, he didnt love her, he hardly liked her.

She realized she cared more than him, but that was no shock to anyone. She lowered her hand to her tummy. How could she not care, just a little? They made a baby together. Of course, in her time that meant little to some people, to him.

All she could hope for was happy co-parenting. Her hand fell, no he didn't even want that. She was not going to cry.
