Mid October
Honeymooning
Aelita woke up and smiled. She had fallen asleep in Jeremy's arms, and she snuggled deeper into them. They had decided to spend a full day at their hotel between the wedding and leaving for their actual honeymoon, and both of them appreciated the extra time to relax and fully enjoy each other's company without distraction.
"Morning, Aelita," murmured Jeremy, who was just waking up.
"Morning, Jeremy." She shivered in delight as her husband started kissing the back of her neck. "Mmmmm... that's nice," she cooed. A moment later she noticed the bedside clock and sighed. "I hate to say this, but unfortunately we don't time. We need to get packed up if we're going to make the plane." Jeremy stopped and squinted at the glowing numbers on the table over his wife's shoulder. Seeing that she was right he groaned before untangling himself from Aelita and the covers. The two of them got up and finished packing and left.
A few hours later, and some playful ribbing from Aelita over Jeremy's fear of flying, they landed in Barcelona, Spain. The newlyweds collected their luggage and exited the airport.
"It's so warm!" Exclaimed Aelita, feeling the afternoon sun beaming down on her face.
"It does feel nice," agreed Jeremy, grinning at his wife's excitement.
Jeremy hailed a taxi and they were on their way to the hotel.
A short while later they walked into the hotel room that would be their home for the next week. It wasn't particularly fancy, but it was clean and neat. Aelita dropped her luggage and went straight to the door wall at the back of the room. Opening it she was greeted by the sound of waves on the beach as she stepped out onto their private second-floor balcony. She grinned widely as she drank in the sun, as well as the view of the incredible expanse of the Tyrrhenian Sea!
"Oh, Jeremy!" She called back into the room with a grin. "You've got to look at this!"
"Oh, wow! That's even better than the pictures!" Exclaimed Jeremy, hugging his wife from behind. "We've got the rest of the day free, so how about we go for a swim?" He suggested. Aelita turned around in his grasp and kissed her husband briefly.
"That sounds wonderful!" The two geniuses went inside and got changed. Jeremy looked at his Aelita, admiring the sight of his wife in a somewhat modest, yet form-fitting two-piece red and pink swimsuit. Aelita likewise enjoyed the sight of her husband is just his blue swim trunks. The two of them put their towels in a canvas bag they had brought and headed out to the beach.
"Last one in's a rotten egg!" Cried Aelita. She took off running the second her feet hit the hot sand, giving Jeremy a playful shove to slow him down slightly.
"Hey, that's not fair!" Shouted Jeremy, who dropped the bag and deposited his glasses in it as quickly as possible before chasing his wife.
"I WIN!" Shouted Aelita when she made it to the water several steps before Jeremy. She turned around and let out a surprised shriek when she saw him charging straight for her. Moments later he tackled her to the water, submerging them both! The two of them resurfaced moments later, sputtering for air between giggles.
"You big fat cheese-head, I'll get you!" Shouted Aelita, just before spraying her husband with the biggest splash she could make. Jeremy ducked and swam underwater, grabbing his wife by the legs and dunked her again! Aelita cursed to herself for forgetting that her husband could swim like a fish! She didn't have to hold her breath long as he brought her back up to the surface almost immediately, but this time lifted her petite form almost entirely above the water while he held on to her at the knees.
"Ok, ok! You win!" She shrieked again and Jeremy let her down. He had a smug grin on his face, but since it wasn't very often that Jeremy had the upper hand in physical activities, Aelita decided to let him have his glory and instead just kissed him.
After that little bit of horsing around, the two of them continued swimming together along the beach and as far out as they dared. Some time later, they left the water and toweled off before laying down in the sun to finish drying.
Once fully dry the newlyweds decided to head inside before they got sunburned.
"That was fun!" Exclaimed Aelita.
"It really was," agreed Jeremy, grinning at his wife. "Next time let's just make sure to put in sunblock. We don't want your skin to match your hair!" He joked. Aelita laughed at his joke and pulled him into a kiss. Jeremy was just about to pull his wife closer, but was interrupted when his stomach growled loudly.
"It seems like someone worked up an appetite!" Exclaimed Aelita with another laugh, and they both started laughing even louder when her stomach joined in!
"Yeah, you!" Teased Jeremy in return.
"We should probably get something to eat."
The two of them got dressed and headed out and found a street vendor that was serving patatas bravas. The two got a plate of the spicy potato dish each and made their way through the crowded streets.
"Mmmm, this is delicious!" Exclaimed Aelita, having taken a bite.
"Uh huh!" Agreed Jeremy. "I think we're going to have to learn how to make this!" Aelita grinned.
"I think you're right!"
The two of them finished their patatas bravas right as they came across a city square with a lot of people gathered. On on the one side was a group of people playing music, and there were people dancing everywhere.
"Jeremy, that looks like fun!" Aelita shouted over the crowd and pulled Jeremy enthusiastically, plunging deep into the crowd! Once they were close enough to the music she turned back to her husband and grinned widely. The young woman started moving and swaying to the music freely while Jeremy shuffled his feet stiffly. "Oh come on Jeremy. You're dancing like William!" She teased while she hung her arms on her husband's shoulders.
"It's just that there's a lot of people here," he mumbled, causing his wife's smile to fall a little bit.
"Jeremy," Aelita replied with a light scolding tone. "That doesn't matter." She moved her hands to the sides of his face and looked straight into his eyes. "We're on our honeymoon, so lets just let go and have fun." Jeremy started to glance back at the crowd, but Aelita held his face firmly toward her own. "Don't look at them, just look at me," she encouraged. Melting into his wife's brilliant green eyes, Jeremy started to move again, this time a little more freely. "There you go." The two of them started moving together to the music, giving Jeremy an idea.
"Hey Aelita, would you like to try signing up for dancing lessons when we get back home." The young woman's grin to split even wider.
"I would love that!" she exclaimed, jumping forward to give her husband a quick kiss.
The newlyweds swayed and weaved to the music for the next hour. While they enjoyed themselves immensely, they eventually were getting tired and decided it was time to get back to the hotel. Daylight was also starting to fade and they both wanted to be back before dark.
"Today was a good day," hummed Aelita once they'd gotten back to their room.
"It really was," agreed Jeremy. "And this is just the start of the trip!" They took a moment to think about the sights and sounds that they were looking forward to in the coming days. "I think you made a good pick for the destination."
"Thank you, Jeremy."
The two of them turned toward each other and hugged tightly. Pulling away slightly, they kissed tenderly for a few seconds before Jeremy's lips started wandering their way across his wife's jaw toward her neck, causing Aelita to purr with delight. It wasn't much longer before they were making their way toward the bed...
A/N: This is the longest delay I've ever had between chapters, and it's a short chapter at that. For that I'm sorry. I'm not sure why, but I had the hardest time writing this one (part of the reason might have been work stress). I hope that you still enjoyed it, and I'll try to get the next one out a bit quicker!
