"ATHOS!" Porthos yelled as he threw his knife at the man about to push his brother into the river.

Porthos didn't realise how close Athos was to the river when he threw the knife at the bandit; he was more interested in saving his brother. Athos fell into the river and Porthos could do nothing but race towards him as the weight of the man Porthos killed pushed him in the river.

The good news, in a twisted sense, was that the bandit was definitely dead as he sank to the bottom of the river, but the very much alive Athos was pushed and abused by the river current. Porthos watched as his brother floundered in the water. Without even thinking, he jumped into the river and went to rescue him. He was so thankful that Athos had taught him to swim in the earlier days of their friendship in events such as these.

Aramis and D'artagnan saw him jump into the river and ran up to the edge in order to help their brother. Porthos rose to the surface and with Athos carefully held against his person he rescued him from the river. Athos was unconscious and quickly laid near the fire and aramis was quickly hovering over him and invasive checking for wounds. Only something wasn't right with their friend. His facial hair was just about gone, his skin was somehow even paler than it previously was and he was significantly smaller. He still looked like Athos but he looked much much younger.

'We need to get back to paris as soon as we can' Aramis stated as he assessed the wounds. Fortunately for them none of them, apart from Athos, were injured in the fight other than a few cuts and bruises here and there. Athos was, according to Aramis' assessment, battered up a bit with a mild concussion. However there was also the issue of their brother's shrinking to deal with.

'Are his injuries that bad?' D'artagon asked worriedly.

'No, but I think we have other problems to deal with,' Aramis explained as he stepped away to allow his brothers to have a look. In the shock of everything that happened, Porthos and d'artagnan had yet to realise the full situation. However, it didn't take them long to realise what had happened.

'Treville's gonna kill us!' Porthos said.
