Set during book 88 at the party. Everyone misses Dawn including the ghost of Jared Mullray. I used the logic of the TV Ghosts on CBS (which is great, I highly recommend it) and gave him a bit of a sassy voice. This was more fun to write then the other story I was going to post.

The barn was packed with the doors wide open the smell of sweets and food cooking as Jared Mullray milled around watching teenager after teenager snacking and having a good time. A video was being set up and more people joined the party. He sighed, avoiding someone barrel right into him. It wasn't like anyone could see him though after all he was invisible.

"I'm going to miss seeing you Dawn Schafer" said Jared more to himself as yet another teenager rushed through his body as he doubled in pain. 200 years of being a ghost and a thirteen year old leaving Stoneybrook was getting to him. He sighed smelling the cookies and what looked like rabbit food behind him. Oh how he wished he could eat.

Jared Mullray was a ghost, one that was bound to the house and barn. The land used to be larger when they owned it but as the land got sold to developers or whoever, so did his playground. He heard about who lived around town now though. His great granddaughter Sophie told him about a house just filled with kids when he could get her messages behind her old house. Apparently old Ben Brewer was hanging around his family home (his great something granddaughter is highly amusing apparently). Old Hickory didn't see much of anything being in a graveyard.

Anyway it was interesting watching the families that had moved to and from his old property. A few of them stayed ghosts with him for a little bit before ascending. He never learned more about American history since meeting those people. And the people living there certainly were entertaining, at least a little bit.

He sighed and almost resigned himself to his passage before watching a video with little interest. The girl leaving, Dawn Schafer, was fun to spook sometimes. She loved ghost stories as he could tell wandering around her room when she was gone for school or some baby-sitting job. At least she believed in him and not the rest of her family. Mary Anne always seemed a little on edge when it came to the house and Sharon and Richard never interested in him. Jared barely saw Jeff to remember much about him.

Then there was the baby-sitters club. These girls gathered on his property way too much for his liking. The kids were fun to watch though when they had events here. The most he could do was make noises. That's it, just make noise. He didn't have a cool ghost power like Sophie did when she was around. Anyway, back to the party as he enjoyed it. Maybe he could make a noise tonight from the passage telling her that he'd miss her.
