Still not short on ideas, just need to get writing. I have all this free time I'm pushing everything off. I really wanted to write a Mallory makeover with a much better outcome than Mary Anne's. The girls were not great in that book so I figured Mallory would have much better luck then Mary Anne did. Plus Kristy's mini glow up. I would make this a two parter but I kept it all together since I have other ideas for the next chapters.

Happy reading!

The now seventh grader, Mallory Pike sat in the common room at Riverbend Hall Boarding school with her journal in her lap. Around her sat her friends: Smita, Jen, and Sarah sat around her in various states of laziness. Jen was taking a nap on the couch, Smita was reading a magazine, and Sarah was making bracelets. Her fingers weaving multi color strings as Mallory glanced out the window. Outside it was raining buckets preventing any of the girls from spending any time in the fresh air.

"We could do makeovers before dinner," said Jen, waking up from her nap rubbing her eyes. "Or someone could at least French braid my hair since I can't keep my arms up long enough."

"It just takes practice," said Smita with a giggle, who had done her own earlier that day.

"I used to love makeovers," said Mallory absentmindedly remembering her time in California and winced. She wasn't exactly herself that entire trip. "I like them but I never look like myself afterward."

"There's a way to look like you and still have a great makeover," said Sarah sitting up, looking up from her bracelets. "We have the same hair type and I can definitely make it less frizzy if you'd like. I was reading last night an article about proper curly hair maintenance. The first thing I read was to use a comb and throw out your hair brush, brushing curly hair is what makes it frizzy."

She turned to Sarah surprised and touched her own hair thinking of what it would look like less frizzy. That was one of the things that she complained about herself.

"If you want a semi-permanent change check this out," said Smita from her magazine, as Sarah braided Jen's hair listening to their conversation. She pulled out the newsletter that went out yesterday and turned to the part about happenings in town. "That strip mall in town they're building is going to have an eye doctor in there. Since the nurse said that I should get my eyes checked there, maybe we could pick out frames together."

Mallory's own blue eyes went wide at the idea of getting new glasses. All of the ones that she picked out before were okay for the options in Stoneybrook. Maybe she could get a new set with her Riverbend friends. She complained about them enough for Smita to suggest that they go together and find something stylish.

"That would be great but I'd have to get permission from my parents and then get my prescription from my doctor," she said, getting excited.

"After we call my parents we can call yours," said Smita tossing her own black hair.

"You know what we should do before we leave for the summer," said Jen, speaking up. "Is to go shopping together. The thrift store has a decent collection of stuff and we pick out an outfit for each other. I'd love to see what you guys would pick for me. We wouldn't be spending too much money, there's a bag sale where you fill a bag up for five dollars."

This is going to be fun thought Mallory and boy would she have a surprise for her Stoneybrook friends.

The BSC or rather Stacey, Cludia, Kristy, Mary Anne, and Jessi were on their way to meet up with Mallory at Friendly's. She said that she had a surprise for them as they shrugged and agreed to meet up with her. It had been roughly a year since Jessi had even spent a lot of time with the others. They were at the high school and she had more afternoon dance classes then ever.

"Did Mal say what the surprise was?" asked Kristy adjusting the hem of her sweater.

"Nope, but you look nice Kristy," said Jessi, noting their former president in an outfit that wasn't as oversized and kind of cute.

"Thanks, my mom and I went to Penney's and found a bunch of shirts that fit better now that I got," said Kristy and motioned toward her first bra. She still wore a typical t-shirt and jeans but they happened to fit better this time around.

She burst into laughter and then went inside looking for Mallory only for all of them to stop short. Sitting at one of the first booths on their right sat Mallory.

At least it had to be, her red bouncy curls sat confidently in the booth. She smoothed out her deep purple sleeveless polo top and denim shorts. Mallory Pike never felt more pretty with natural looking makeup on her face and somewhat fashionable outfit.

"Hi Mal," said Jessi coming up behind him, taking a seat across from her. "That color purple looks good on you. Is this the surprise you got a makeover?"

"Yep!" she said happily standing up for them to see her in full as they oohhed and awwed at her new look. Then Mallory turned to Jessi to show off the other thing she had. "I got your earrings you sent me."

Mallory showed off the gold stars that she sent months back. With more confidence and a brand new look she managed to stop at least someone in their tracks. Her hair did not look frizzy (she threw away her brushes once she knew what went wrong) with new glasses, braces off, and a cute outfit.

"Mallory, you look great," said Mary Anne. "I like the new glasses frames."

"Yea they're kind of like mine," said Stacey showing off her own frames that she got. "Your curls look a little more defined."

"YOu look good," said Kristy. "Now let's get some lunch."
