I wasn't going to upload a chapter this week, but decided I would after seeing some new followers and reviews, thanks so much! Anyway, I most likely won't upload for maybe over a week because I've decided to reread all the books, just to make sure all my facts are right. I'm already half way through the 4th so it shouldn't take too long, but I thought I'd just enlighten you. Also, I've been working on a fair bit of Harry Potter artwork, so if you want a link to any of my speedart videos, just private message me and I'll hook you up with some links. Anyway, without further ado, another chapter that took way too long to write:

"Fucking cow." Snape muttered under his breath as he walked into his quarters. Umbridge had inspected potions that day, putting Snape in a horrid mood.
"What's up?" Hannah asked, lounging in a chair across the room with a book in her hand.
"Umbridge inspected my class today." Snape took off his outer robe and threw it over a chair. "Humiliated me in front of Potter." He walked over to his book shelf and grabbed a book. "And did nothing productive but distract the students." He slammed the book down on his desk and slumped down in a chair behind it.
"Oh yeah. We should totally just imperius her or spike her tea." Hannah muttered from behind her book.
"Hilarious." Snape drawled.
"I thought so." Hannah kept her eyes on the book. Snape let out a lengthy sigh. After a moment of silence and pages turned, Hannah lifted her eyes to watch Snape. She hadn't really evaluated him properly, she only just noticed that his emotional mask seemed to completely disappear as soon as he walked in the room nowadays. He looked completely exhausted, showed no sign of happiness whatsoever, yet didn't bother to keep his stress and anger under his usual filter. "What are you thinking?" Hannah eventually voiced.
"I thought you had the ability to find out for yourself." Snape muttered.
"Don't be an asshole. You know I'm just trying to be polite." Snape let out another sigh.
"I'm thinking," Snape started, "that I'm extremely over teaching and having no positive outcome whatsoever."
"Then why don't you stop?" Hannah questioned.
"I made an unbreakable vow with Dumbledore, regarding the spy business. I need to be in Hogwarts or else I'll die by either the hands of Voldemort or by the bind with Dumbledore. Not that I particular care that much for that outcome."
"Well, I do care about the outcome to be entirely honest. It was just a curious suggestion." Hannah placed her book down and sat up in the chair.
"You're probably the only one." Snape closed his eyes for a moment.
"For as long as one person values you you'll always have a reason to live." Snape looked up at Hannah, she swore she could see his eyes smiling, before they went back to his book. Snape picked up a quill and started scribbling things into the book. "What are you writing, anyway?"
"Passable veritaserum substitute that doesn't have any affect at all." Snape muttered.
"For which reason?"
"Umbridge wants me to brew veritaserum so she can interrogate students into divulging any information they have about Dumbledore and secret school organizations." Snape put his quill down. "Of course one can use occlumency against the potion anyway, but that's only if they are expecting the potion, and if they're not complete idiots."
"That reminds me, Potter and his friends have formed a little Defence Against the Dark Arts substitute group. They asked me if I wanted to join."
"Please tell me you said no." Snape drawled.
"I said yes. Mainly out of curiosity, and indirect revenge at Umbridge. I narrowly avoided signing a magically bound contract which I'm sure would've probably made me start bleeding out of my ears right now if I had signed it." Snape rolled his eyes.
"Why anyone would want to be involved with Potter is entirely beyond me."
"Don't let your evident seething hatred for someone blind you, sir. His intentions are ultimately good." Hannah reasoned.
"I have no idea why you weren't sorted into Gryffindor with that lot. You stand up for them like you're one of them." Snape glared at Hannah.
"Don't be a closed-minded asshole. The reason Slytherin is so despised is because people like you spit fire at anyone who tries to come close. And if you must know, that Sorting Hat sounded pretty bloody confused when it put me into Slytherin." Hannah snapped.
"That's because the Hat uses Legilimency to sort you. It was most likely confused because you were blocking it a great deal more than anyone else does." Snape took a deep breath. "It isn't as if I doubt your worthiness to be in Slytherin, Miss Byron, I'm just genuinely confused as to why you so willingly mix with everyone else when most of the people you mix with are completely unreliable."
"They seem unreliable to you in the same way you seem entirely selfish to them. The way one portrays themselves in a classroom is very different to what they're really like. I bet you could've never envisioned Fred and George studying for hours quietly in a library, or Adrian rambling on endlessly about his life. You're judging people plainly by what you see, or what you're wanting to see, rather than what they're truly like. Obviously being open-minded isn't a trait for either house." Snape stared absent-mindedly for a faint second.
"So, when is the first gathering for your secret organization?" Snape questioned, not bitterly.
"In two days." Hannah briefly replied.
"Very well, I'll make sure to distract Umbridge for the time it takes." Hannah smiled at Snape.
"Thank you."

Several people had gathered in the room of requirement, Hannah noticed that Dani had also decided to sign up for the group. Hannah, Dani, Adrian, Fred, and George sat together in an isolated group at the back of the room, as Harry rambled about the importance of Expelliarmus. "Alright, well, um, you guys can go off in pairs and practice, then. Right. Yeah. Off you go then." Harry awkwardly announced. Fred inched closer to Dani, who blushed in response, George headed over to Angelina, and Hannah partnered with Adrian.
"This is pretty basic stuff." Adrian whispered to Hannah.
"Yeah, but there are second years in here. Just go along with it." The two flew spells back and forth, disarming each other successfully each time. Hannah allowed glances at Dani, who in turn winked at her every now and then.

Hermione approached Hannah and Adrian after an hour or practicing. "Hi Hannah." Hermione said, overly cheerful.
"Hi." Hannah responded. Hermione glanced at Adrian quickly then back at Hannah. "He's Adrian. Trustworthy. Believe me."
"Oh, ok. I never doubted it. Anyway, I was wondering if you'd be able to get any more Slytherin's into the group. I mean, just, I think it's really nice, the interhouse unity. I think it's good preparation for any future battles. It's up to you, but, yeah. I was just wondering." Hermione awkwardly trailed off.
"I'm not really in any position to be convincing Slytherins to listen to a bunch of 5th year Gryffindors, but if you insist, I might be able to get one or two."
"Oh my! Cool. That'd be good. It's just, I think Umbridge will soon enough catch on to us, and will probably convince as many Slytherins as she can to tailgate us. It'd just be good if we can get as many on our side as we can. If not to tutor, to at least show that we're not so bad." Hermione smiled awkwardly.
"Yeah, fair enough." Hannah gave a weak smile in returned, before leaving the room with Adrian.
"What was that all about?" Adrian questioned as soon as they were out of the way.
"No idea, but Hermione isn't stupid. There's probably a better reason than she's explained, but probably not something she's willing to discuss with untrustworthy Slytherins like ourselves."
"If it matters, I do find you trustworthy." Adrian said awkwardly.
"If using an unforgivable curses and spiking drinks is what you consider trustworthy?"
"Whenever you do it, you have good reason. So yes. I do find that trustworthy." Hannah smiled.
"Well, if you decided to use illegal methods against teachers then I'm sure I'd still find you trustworthy, too." Hannah joked, as they walked down to the dungeon.
