Super Smash Bros Adventures chapter 18
Mario and Samus are training together inside the Training Room. Mario rushes in for close combat and throws some quick Punches. Samus blocks them with her Arm Cannon, pushes Mario back with a good shove, and shoots out some Pink Missiles. Mario runs around them, jumps over the last one, and attacks with a Jump Kick attack. Samus dodges it with ease and lands a strong Punch with her Arm Cannon, sending Mario flying back, and shoots out a fully charged Charge Shot. Mario barely avoids it by jumping away from the projectile, but then Samus rushes in and attacks with a Shoulder Charge. Mario blocks the attack with his arms, Kicks Samus away from him, and lands a strong Punch, knocking her away from him. Samus quickly shoots out some little Energy Blasts and charges up for another Full Charge Shot. Mario slides under the projectiles and jumps up in the air really high and prepares for another attack. Samus finishes charging her Full Charge Shot and shoots it right away, hoping it'll finish things. Mario barely avoids it with an Air Dodge, but got hurt a bit on the nose, and lands a strong Air Punch on Samus's Helmet, knocking her down on the floor and winning their training match.
Mario walks up to Samus and offers his hand to help her up. "You ok?"
"I'm fine." Samus accepts Mario's help and gets right back up.
"Sorry if I Punched you that hard." Mario apologizes, rubbing the back of his head.
"No need to apologize. For training, I don't want anyone to hold back against me no matter how strong they are. Now, allow me take off my suit and we can train some more." Samus says, as she starts taking off her helmet.
Mario's face turns red knowing how pretty Samus would be without her Power Suit on. "Uhh... no need to do that."
"Hmm? Why not?" Samus asks. "I want to get stronger without my suit too. Can't always rely on it forever."
"It's just... Actually, I don't want to explain it." Mario says, lookin away.
"Oh I understand… You want me to always fight in my full power so you rather fight me when I'm in my Power Suit. Seems understandable." Samus says.
"Y... yeah... That's what I meant. Heh, heh." Mario stutters with his face turning red again.
"Then that should be it for training then. How about we go to my world? I picked out a mission we can do together over there. And we can grab something to eat and drink at one of my favorite places in space." Samus suggests.
"Only if you're paying." Mario teases.
"Very funny. I'm not that nice. You'll be paying for your own." Samus says.
"I thought you were. Oh well, can't really say no to you." Mario says.

Mario and Samus are transported to a unknown little planet where their mission is to save civilians that were captured by Space Pirates. The two Smashers look around in a spacious forest area, full of trees, vines, and it's really misty which makes it hard to see for them.
"This fog is really hard to see through here. Should've brought a flashlight so it'll be easier for us." Mario says.
"This is also a good thing for us. The enemy won't know suspect that we're here." Samus says.
"What is our mission anyway?" Mario asks.
"From the mission I chose from the Smash Mansion, were here to help stop Space Pirates that have taken away innocent civilians from their homes." Samus answers.
"Space Pirates... Aren't they the ones that..." Mario covers his mouth quickly.
"Yeah... they're the kinds of aliens I won't forgive ever. Especially Ridley, the one who killed my Mother right in front of my very eyes when I was young." Samus says, looking down as she slowly remembers her past.
"I... I wish that I didn't bring that up. I'm sorry for bringing that up." Mario apologizes.
"It's all right. I can't just forget about the past. That's how I became a stronger person and how I met up with many great people like you and the others. So don't feel sorry about me." Samus says.
"Right." Mario nods in agreement.
The two Smashers continue to search around for the Space Pirates. Samus looks up in the air and see smoke that's coming from the south direction.
"Smoke... we should be close. Come on." Samus says.
Mario and Samus follow where the smoke is coming and after a while of walking, they see a cave where some Space Pirates are keeping guard.
"There's some over there. Come on, we'll take them out stealthily." Samus says.
"Stealthily isn't really my thing. Would be nice if Snake was here with us. We can go in with cardboard boxes and nobody will notice us." Mario jokes.
"Stop playing around and be serious about this." Samus angrily says.
"Yes mam!" Mario says.
Mario and Samus separate into different paths and hide themselves from plain sight. Samus hides behind some trees while Mario hides in some bushes as they slowly approach the guarding Space Pirates. As the two got close on each side, Samus looks around to see if everything's clear and makes a signal with her hand that it's safe to attack. Mario quickly knocks out a Zebesian on his side with a good Punch to its face, Samus knocks out a Mini-Kraid with her Arm Cannon to its stomach, and puts them aside so the other Space Pirates won't see them. The two Smashers quietly goes inside the cave and look for the trapped civilians. On their way, way they hear screams of people begging to get out.
"Did you hear that?" Mario asks.
"The civilians are close. We must get there quickly." Samus says.
Mario and Samus move quickly and forget about being stealthily and take out any enemy that gets into their way.

After fighting through hordes of Space Pirates, Mario and Samus finally arrived at the end of the cave where they find the trapped civilians in cages.
"We finally made it." Mario says.
"Thank goodness everyone's safe." Samus says.
"Hey, it's Samus the Bounty Hunter."
"She really did come to save us."
"And who's that man with her? Is he some kind of Bounty Hunter too?"
"Is everyone ok here?" Samus asks.
"We're all ok. The Space Pirates just took us by surprise."
"But be careful, there's a giant purple one that's still on the loose."
"You can't be serious... He's here too?" Samus says, preparing her Arm Cannon.
"Don't worry, we can take him on." Mario says.
"Sorry Mario, but let me handle this alone." Samus says.
"Are serious?! Do you really think you can beat him alone?" Mario worryingly asks.
"I fought with him as many times I can remember and won a lot of my fights. There's nothing to worry about. This battle will end this." Samus says.
"Ok then... If you say so. Make sure you don't lose." Mario says.
"Focus on taking the civilians out of the cave. This is going to get messy." Samus ordered.
"Right! Everyone, follow me." Mario's breaks a lock out of their cage with a good grip of pure strength and leads everyone out.
A loud screech from a giant Space Pirate was heard d, with small rocks coming down from above. Samus aims her Arm Cannon around her surroundings, while staying on her guard. She walks back slowly until suddenly, she looks behind and sees her Arch Nemesis flying in and about to grab her. Samus jumps in the air, shoots some Bullets and follows it up with Pink Missiles. Ridley flies away from them in high speed and breaths out giant Fireballs with its Plasma Breath. Samus runs away from the attack and the two of them stare down at each other.
"Samus, it's been a while. Still have that cute face of yours." Ridley greeted.
"And you still have that ugly mug yourself." Samus greeted.
"Very funny. You know that you missed this face." Ridley says.
"What do you want this time? Why did you take these civilians hostage?" Samus asks, aiming her Arm Cannon.
"Oh you know, just wanted to play around with those little humans until their bones snap. Sounds fun right?" Ridley asks.
"Not to me it isn't. Humans aren't your play things." Samus angrily says.
"Then what makes you? My beautiful doll?" Ridley teases.
"Well this doll you're playing with will just have to beat some senses out of you again." Samus says.
"Feisty aren't we? I always enjoy that about you. This time we'll have even more fun then the last times we fought. Hope you can handle it." Ridley says.
"I can handle anything you throw at me. So bring it!" Samus says, aiming her Arm Cannon.

Ridley let's out a loud screech and charges in. Samus charges up her Charge Shot and fires it right away. Ridley flies over it and dives down with its feet first. Samus rolls away from the attack and lands a Shoulder Charge attack, pushing Ridley away. Ridley goes up to Samus and attacks with some Claw Slashes. Samus avoids each attack and aims her Arm Cannon at its face, but Ridley knocks her down with its Tail. Ridley sticks down Samus's arms on the ground with its feet and go in with a Bite. Samus barely avoids the attack, Kicks Ridley's stomach hard enough to knock him away, and shoots out three Pink Missiles, landing all of them into its face. Ridley charge up flames inside his mouth and fires out his Plasma Breath. Samus runs away from the attack, shoots out many Green Missiles, and runs in high speed with her Speed Booster. As Samus got close, attacks with a Arm Cannon Fire Burst attack, but Ridley quickly avoids the attack, grabs Samus with its hand, and took on all the Missiles fired at him. Ridley flies up and and slams Samus hard on the top of the cave. Samus struggles getting out, but Ridley tightens its grip to make sure she doesn't get out. Ridley flies down in high speed, slams down Samus a lot harder than before and drags her down on the ground with its Space Pirate Rush, doing heavy damage onto her. Samus slowly aims her Arm Cannon at Ridley's face and fires a fully charged Charge Shot, landing a hit and setting herself free. Samus slowly gets up on her feet and sees Ridley walking towards her. Samus aims her Arm Cannon for another attack, then Ridley quickly flies towards her, knocks her down with a tackle, and locks up her arms and legs down on the ground. Samus struggles getting out, but she doesn't have the strength after the last attack she taken.
"Errgh! Let go!" Samus yelled.
"Oh I'm sorry, I thought you could handle anything I can throw at you." Ridley takes off Samus's helmet to reveal her face. "Even when you're struggling, you still have that cute face of yours."
"Oh shut it!" Samus angrily says.
"Still feisty even though you're about to die. That's why I like you. Too bad our fun comes to an end. After I kill you, I'll be going after the citizens that big nose man took away my meals from me." Ridley says.
"Don't you dare go after them!" Samus angrily says.
"And what are you going to do? You don't have the strength to get out of my grip. Just accept it, you lost." Ridley says, as he charges up his Plasma Breath.
"Darn it... Is this really it for me? I feel so pathetic for not going all out in the beginning. I shouldn't have been cocky." Samus thinks to herself.
As Ridley is about to release its final attack, Mario jumps into and lands a strong Punch to Ridley's face, knocking him away from Samus and making his own Blast Breath exploding in his mouth.
"Ouch! That burns!" Ridley cried.
"Samus, are you ok?" Mario worryingly asks.
"Thanks to you I am." Samus says weakly.
"Hey! What's the big idea? I was just about to finish her off. And you have to come out of no where and stop it." Ridley says.
"I just had a feeling that she needed some help that's all. But from the looks of it, she looks like she can't fight anymore." Mario says, looking down on Samus in her critical condition.
"That's good, now I can finally end our rivalry here and now." Ridley says, as he flies toward them in high speed.
Mario quickly picks up Samus, jumps away from Ridley's attack, and places her down to a safe spot. "Samus, would it be ok if I take over for this fight?"
"My Power Suit is almost destroyed and I can't move my body that well. He's all yours." Samus says.
"Thank you." Mario says, as he goes back into action.
Mario jumps towards Ridley and throws a Air Punch. Ridley dodges and attacks with its Tail. Mario grabs Ridley's Tail, slams him hard on the ground, spins him around in circles, and throws it hard into a wall. Ridley fires out its Plasma Breath and follows it with the same attack. Mario jumps over the first set of attack, takes out his Super Leaf Cape, and reflects the second attack right back. Ridley barely avoids the attack, then Mario lands his signature Stomp on Ridley's head, and follows it with a strong Kick, knocking him down to the ground. Mario runs in and attacks with a Fire Burst Hand attack and Ridley does the same attack with its mouth and the two attacks collided. Mario and Ridley both sent each other flying back, but both landed on their feet. Ridley flies in high speed and attacks with its Claw Slashes. Mario dodges each attack and attacks back with a Punch, but Ridley jumps over him and lands a Tail Attack, knocking Mario away from him.
"You know, you're not bad. Haven't fought someone like you before." Ridley compliments.
"You're not too bad yourself. Now let's continue on." Mario says, getting back on his feet.
"Actually, I'm done playing for the day. All I wanted was to fight Samus, but it was interrupted because of you. Also… she doesn't seem like she was fighting her best either. I'll let you two live for now. But don't expect to give you mercy next time." Ridley says.
"Wait! Ridley!" Samus yelled, slowly getting up. "We're not finished yet! I can still fight!"
"Actually… we are. You look like you're about to break down any second. If you really want to beat me, then wait until next time we meet. This time it's my win. For now, I'm out of here." Ridley says, as he flies out of the cave leaving Mario and Samus.
Samus grits her teeth. "Darn it! He got away. I feel so disappointed in myself right now."
"Ridley stated that you weren't doing your best during the fight. Did something hold you back?" Mario asks.
"I was... Really confident on myself that I could beat Ridley that it back fired when I was just using the same tricks from our last fights and I let my anger got over me when I see him. I thought this time, I can win so I can avenge my Mom and everyone that was slain by him." Samus says, as she punches the ground.
Mario goes up to her and places his hand on her shoulder. "No need to be upset about that. Remember, you're not handling this alone. If you really want to win next time, you just have to continue improving on your skills and don't let hate get the best of you. There are times when there are enemies other than Bowser that took Peach away that I let my anger control over me. But then I realize that wasn't the best since it could make things worse and won't fit me as the Hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. So I saved her and others I saved with a calm matter and everything went good. Next time, I'm sure you'll beat Ridley."
Samus looks at Mario and smiles. "Thanks, I needed that. After we make sure the civilians are safe, let's go grab something to eat and drink at a place I know. And when we get back to the Smash Mansion, let's train again. This time I'll be using my Zero Suit."
Mario's face turns red. "Umm... Ok... Hopefully I won't get distracted..."
"What?" Samus says.
"Nothing!" Mario says, waving his hands.
