Super Smash Bros Adventures chapter 20
The Smashers meet up inside the auditorium for a special announcement from Sakurai. Everyone talks about what they think Sakurai will present today.
"It's going to be newcomers! I one hundred percent bet it is." Pit says with confidence.
"Hmm… I don't know. Feels kind of early since it's been only five months since we all gathered together and we already got newcomers not too long ago. Maybe some updates about how we can visit our worlds? What do you think, Mario?" Link asks.
"To be honest, I'm thinking we're going to do our first official tournament soon. I've been hearing rumors from Sakurai's workers talking about how they're planning on showing the Super Smash Bros tournaments around all of our worlds. That way anyone who's not part of the tournament will get to see how we battle each other." Mario replies.
"That sounds great! Showing everyone from different universes how we fight and showing off our fighting styles. This would be awesome if this actually happened!" Pit says.
"If this actually happened, then the Zelda from my world, the champions, and many others can watch me. Maybe someday, they can visit us here in the Smash Mansion." Link says.
"That sounds too good to be true. At the same time, Sakurai can make the impossible, possible." Mario says.
After a while of waiting, Sakurai appeared on the stage with a big smile on his face, about to announce what he has in store.
"Hello Smashers, and thank you all for coming here. Today will be the first event I would like to call, "Sakurai Presents". It'll be about me announcing all the latest things I have planned for Super Smash Bros. Now, let's begin the presentation. The first thing I want to say is, there'll be no newcomers coming at this time." Sakurai starts off.
"Aww man… I was hoping to see some new Smashers today." Ness sadly says.
"Don't worry, you all won't have to wait long. The newcomers will be coming sooner than you think. I'm still waiting on their response if they'll be coming or not. So please be patient for the time being. Next thing I would like to talk about, is my idea of how you all can visit your worlds. My team and I have something going on for making a easy to use machine that'll let you make a Smash Portal to go visit not just your world, but visit any kind of world you're not familiar with. We're still working hard on it so please be patient." Sakurai announces.
"At least we'll soon be able to go visit our friends soon." Palutena says.
"And now, for my big announcement. I would like to finally announce that, we'll be having our first annual Super Smash Bros Tournament." Sakurai happily announces.
The Smashers turn surprised and cheer very loudly for the tournament.
"Finally!" Captain Falcon cheered.
"I've been waiting for this." Ike says.
"For the first tournament, my workers and I would like to make this a test to see if it'll do well or not. So this first tournament will only focus on eight Smashers. Now allow me to announce the Smashers that are going to be part of this tournament. The ones who'll be attending are, Mario, Sonic, Marth, Donkey Kong, Charizard, Mr. Game and Watch, Little Mac, and Shulk." Sakurai announces.
"I'm chosen? Let's a go!" Mario cheered.
"Always knew that it'll be me that gets chosen." Sonic shrugs.
"It'll be an honor to fight you all in this tournament." Marth says.
"This is going to be exciting!" Donkey Kong says, beating his chest with his fists.
"About time. I'll show off how hot my flames are." Charizard says.
"Glad to be part of this." Mr. Game and Watch says.
"Boxing tournaments, Smash tournaments. Don't matter what kind of tournament, I'll win no matter what." Little Mac says.
"I should keep my head up and show what the Monado's power is truly capable of." Shulk says.
"Now that the Smashers are announced, I would like to also announce that we'll be broadcasting all major Super Smash Bros tournaments through out all our worlds. I sent each of your worlds a device fitting for each world where they'll be able to watch the tournament live so they can experience the action. More information about the tournament will be coming up when the tournament begin tomorrow. That's all I got for the first Sakurai Presents. Hope you all rest easy for tomorrow, attendees. And again, thank you all for coming. Looking forward to the tournament." Sakurai says, ending his announcement.

The Smashers leave the auditorium and talking about the upcoming tournament. Everyone is excited to see how it'll go for tomorrow and discussing who they think is going to win.
"Wow Mario, you're really lucky you get to be in the first tournament." Pit says.
"Wish I was part of it." Link says.
"Don't worry, you two will soon be in one." Mario says.
"So, what do you guys want to do? Go on a mission or hangout in Smash City?" Pit asks.
"I was thinking of buying something from Smash City. What do you want to do, Mario?" Link asks.
"Sorry guys, but I'm thinking of doing some training for the tournament tomorrow. Need to get myself ready if I want to win tomorrow." Mario says.
"Kind of knew you're going to be doing that to be honest." Link says.
"Don't train too hard." Pit says.
"Thanks, I will." Mario says.
Mario leaves Pit and Link and head to the Training Room. As he arrived, he starts his training by summoning a Polygon version of himself. The first thing he does was practice some combos he learned from all the battles he did and try figuring out some new ones. The next thing he does is doing some practice battles with his Polygon self and think of new strategies he can do for tomorrow. Lastly, he summoned two more Polygon clones and fight them all at once, hoping to get some results.
"Phew, that was some training." Mario says, lying down on his back. He looks up at the ceiling and thinks about his opponents he'll be fighting. "Tomorrow is going to be tough. Not quite sure who I'll be facing, but I think I have a good idea on what I should do to fight everyone… except for Sonic… What should I do against him?"
"Mario?"
Mario looks at the entrance and sees Lyn coming inside. "Lyn, what are you doing here?"
"I was about to do some training even though I'm not in the tournament. Didn't expect you to be here since the other challengers are resting for tomorrow." Lyn says.
"Yeah, I thought doing some extra training will help for tomorrow." Mario says.
"So how's the training going so far?" Lyn asks, sitting next to Mario.
"It's going great. I was just figuring some new ways to fight and thinking on how I should fight my opponents, but can't figure out how I'm going to beat Sonic." Mario replies.
"Is it because he's the fastest fighter here?" Lyn asks.
"You know it! Sonic can run so fast that I can't really keep track where he's going to approach. Sure I'm stronger than him, but how can I hit him if he's a lot faster than me? I did beat him sometimes before, but I want to make sure that I won't have a hard time fighting him anymore." Mario says.
"I'm sure you'll do great tomorrow. When I watch you fight, I was amazed on how you fight all these different warriors since the way you fight is a lot different than what I'm used too. You made me want to push myself to become an even better fighter that one day, I can be strong like you. Don't forget, even though you lose, that just means that you'll get even stronger than before. If I want to be honest to myself, I believe you'll win this tournament, Mario. You're a really strong fighter and I know you'll beat Sonic." Lyn says.
Mario's looks at Lyn, feeling more confident himself inside and smiles. Before he felt a bit scared since he might be fighting the fastest Smasher, but now he feels good and relaxed. "Thanks for telling me this, Lyn. Now I feel more comfortable for tomorrow. Just you watch, I'll give everything I got, beat Sonic, and win the tournament."
Lyn smiles. "That's the spirit! Glad that I can help."
"How about we train together? You're pretty fast too so this can help me even more for tomorrow." Mario asks.
"Sure why not? Remember not to hold back." Lyn says, taking out her Manni Katti.
The two Smashers get into the fighting stance and begin their training.

It's finally time for the big event. Smashers gathered around in the Smash Room where they'll be having the tournament in. Cameras from different angles are pointed at the main stage where Sakurai and the Smashers competing in the tournament.
"Ok Mister Sakurai, are you ready for us to begin broadcasting?"
"Let's start the show." Sakurai says.
"Ok we're live in 3… 2… 1…"
Cameras starts recording Sakurai.
"Hello everyone, thank you for tuning in for the first Super Smash Bros tournament. My name is Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of the tournament. Today, we have eight challengers that'll be duking it out to show everyone around different worlds, what is Super Smash Bros. Today's challengers we have are, Mario, Donkey Kong, Marth, Mr. Game and Watch, Sonic, Charizard, Little Mac, and Shulk."
The Smashers look up to the camera and wave or pose to everyone that are watching the tournament.
"The rules for the tournament is set for three stocks and the stages are Battlefield and Final Destination. Stages will be chosen randomly as each match begins and it's single elimination meaning no second chances. Hope you all are ready, because this is going to be something you don't want to miss!" Sakurai says.
A big screen appeared on the stage, showing the order of the matches. First match is Mario versus Mr. Game and Watch, second Donkey Kong versus Charizard, third Marth versus Shulk, and fourth Sonic versus Little Mac.
"Looks like Mario and Mr. Game and Watch are first. Please come up to the Smash Computer and get ready for the match." Sakurai asks.
Mario and Mr. Game and Watch both go up to the Smash Computer and the stage they're going to fight on is Battlefield in a form of Hyrule Castle.
"Good luck out there, Mr. Game and Watch." Mario says.
"You too, Mario." Mr. Game and Watch says.
The two Smashers were transported to the stage and the countdown begins. 3… 2… 1… Go!

Mario starts up the fight by throwing Fireballs. Mr. Game and Watch takes out a Bucket to absorb the projectiles and fires it back with a wave of water. Mario jumps in the air to avoid the attack, gets up close to him and throws a Punch. Mr. Game and Watch sidesteps the incoming attack, takes out his Insecticide and pumps out a burst of Gas. Mario jumps over Mr. Game and Watch, then lands a strong Punch to his back, follows it with another strong Punch, and sends him flying with a strong Kick. Mr. Game and Watch returns back on stage, sees Mario running towards him, takes out a Chair and hits him with it, knocking him away. Mr. Game and Watch continues his attack by knocking Mario upwards with a Flag attack, then jumps towards him and lands a multi hit attack with some Goldfish coming out of a big bowl, and ends his combo string with a Trampoline launch, knocking Mario high into the air. Mario lands on top of the top platform and Mr. Game and Watch attacks him with a puff of Air Blasts. Mario reflects the Air Blasts with his Super Leaf Cape, knocking Mr. Game and Watch downwards, grabs him and throws him upwards to the air close to the Blast Zone, and follows it with a Backflip Kick, taking the first stock off. Mr. Game and Watch returns to the stage and attacks Mario with a sliding attack. Mario blocks the attack and strikes with a Kick, but it was overpowered by Mr. Game and Watch's Helmet Headbutt, knocking him up close to the Blast Zone. Mr. Game and Watch jumps up towards Mario with his Trampoline and attacks with a Key attack. Mario dodges the attack, hits Mr. Game and Watch with a Air Punch, sending him downwards, and followed up with a Flying Kick, knocking him away. Mario continues striking by landing his Punch-Punch-Kick combo, followed up with a strong Kick, knocking him off the stage, and as Mr. Game and Watch recovers with his Trampoline, Mario lands a strong Smash Punch on him, knocking him into the blast zone and winning the match.

The match ended, and the Smashers cheered for the winner with some of them surprised of how Mario ended the match. It was a good battle for both of them. The two Smashers returns to the Smash Mansion.
"I didn't expect to use my advantage sending you close to the Blast Zone to instead you taking the match over me. You must've prepared yourself for this, Mario."
Mr. Game and Watch compliments.
"Actually, it was a last minute thinking. Didn't think I can actually pull it off." Mario says.
"Even so, what you did was great! I'll make sure I'll be a better match for you next time." Mr. Game and Watch says.
"I'll be looking forward to it." Mario says.
The two Smashers shake hands for respect and went back to their seats.
"What an great way to end the first match of the tournament. Thank you both of you for that exciting battle. Mario will be moving onto the next round of the tournament. For the second match, can I have Donkey Kong and Charizard up for the next match please." Sakurai asks.
Donkey Kong and Charizard go up to the Smash Computer and chose Yoshi's Island in a form of Final Destination.
"It's a battle of big bodies. I won't go easy on you." Donkey Kong says.
"Same here. I'll show how serious I'll get." Charizard says.
The two Smashers both transported to their stage and the next match begins ins 3… 2… 1… Go!

Donkey Kong and Charizard charge at each other and clash with attacks from their Heads and push away each other. Donkey Kong throws some quick strong Punches and throws a Headbutt. Charizard dodges each attack, flies up and strikes down with a Air Slash. Donkey Kong blocks the attack with both arms, grabs Charizard by the wings, throws him aside and follows up with a strong Punch, knocking him away. Charizard stops his movement with his wings and breathes out Flamethrower. Donkey Kong runs away from the flames and jumps up. While Charizard has the chance, he lands some Slashes with his Claws, follows up with an upwards Wing attack sending Donkey Kong upwards, and ends his combo string with a Air Slash attack, knocking him off the stage. Charizard goes off stage and attacks with a Air Stomp. Donkey Kong avoids the attack and recovers back on stage with his Spinning Kong attack. Charizard recovers onto the ledge of the stage when suddenly, Donkey Kong lands a surprise Headbutt, knocking him down and taking the first stock. Charizard recovers back on stage and attacks with Front Flip Tail attack. Donkey Kong blocks the attack and attacks back with a Smash Clap attack. Charizard withstood the attack with his body covered in flames and lands a strong Flare Blitz, sending Donkey Kong flying into the Blast Zone. Donkey Kong returns back onto the stage and charges up his Giant Punch. Charizard fly towards Donkey Kong and attacks with a Bite. Donkey Kong barely dodges it, grabs Charizard into a Cargo Hold, throws him in front, and lands a couple of strong Punches. Charizard moves back and approaches with a Wing Attack. Donkey Kong blocks, but was tricked by Charizard grabbing him instead, gave him a few bites, flew very high into the sky and flies back down hard with a Seismic Toss, sending Donkey Kong flying far. Donkey Kong returns back on stage and Charizard flies in with another Wing Attack. Donkey Kong attacks with a Hand Slap, but misses as Charizard flies around him. While he has the chance, Charizard covers himself with flames and attacks with Flare Blitz. Donkey Kong doesn't have the chance to dodge and instead attacks straight on with his Giant Punch. The two attacks clashed and the two Smashers pushes each other back and fort, then Donkey Kong pushes himself even further, overpowering Charizard's Flare Blitz, and sending him flying into the Blast Zone and won the match.

The Smashers cheered loudly for the winner and for the performance both Smashers presented. Donkey Kong and Charizard returns back to the Smash Mansion.
"That was a tough battle. I broke a sweat…" Donkey Kong says, breathing heavily..
"Didn't think you can overpower my Flare Blitz with your Mega Punch. Just shows I have more to learn. Thanks for the battle." Charizard thanked.
"It's actually called the Giant Punch, but that sounds like a cool name too. Good battle." Donkey Kong says.
Donkey Kong and Charizard shake hands and went back to their seat.
"What an exciting battle that was! My heart was pounding the last part of the fight. Great performance for both Smashers and Donkey Kong will continue on. Now onto the next match. Marth, Shulk, please go up to the stage." Sakurai asks.
Marth and Shulk go up to the Smash Computwr and chose their stage, Castle Siege in Battlefield form.
"I'm looking forward to this battle." Marth says.
"Let's give it our all." Shulk says.
The two Smashers both transported to their stage and the next match begins ins 3… 2… 1… Go!

Marth and Shulk starts up the battle by clashing Swords Slashes and distance away from each other. Shulk uses his Monado Sword's power to gain his Monado form of Speed and rushes in high speed. Marth stood still and swing his Falchion as Shulk got close. Shulk avoids the incoming attack and swings his Monado Sword, only for it to be blocked. Marth and Shulk continue clashing attacks until Marth lands a good Sword Slash on Shulk, continues his attack with a Dancing Blade upwards combo, and ends his attack with a strong downwards Sword Slash, knocking Shulk back pretty far due to the base of the Sword. Shulk uses his Monado's Sword again and this time uses the Monado form, Buster, charges in again and swings his Sword. Marth blocks each attack coming at him, jumps back a bit and attacks with a Sword Slash using the tipper. Shulk jumps over the attack and hits Marth with a Air Vertical Sword Slash, follows up with a Punch-Kick-Sword combo, continues his string with a crouching Sword Slash, and finish up his attack with a Sword Swing, knocking Marth not too far away, but damaging him a lot. While Shulk is switching into another Monado form, Marth rushes in and attacks with a Smash Sword Swing attack. A little blue light appears around Shulk as he sees into the future, dodging the incoming attack, and knocking Marth away into the with a strong Sword Slash into the Blast Zone. Marth returns back on the stage and Shulk changes into his next Monado form, Jump. Shulk jumps up really high in the air attacks with a Air Sword Slash. Marth blocks the attack with his Falchion, pushes him back and attacks back. Shulk jumps high in the air again, changes his Monado form into Speed and rushes in with a dashing Sword Slash. Marth goes into his Counter Stance, Counters the attack as they made contact, and follows up with with a Smash Sword attack, sending Shulk flying off the stage. Shulk changes into Jump form quickly and recovers using Air Slash. Marth jumps up above Shulk as he misses the ledge, and sends him flying down with a Air Downwards Slash, sending him into the Blast Zone. Shulk returns back on stage and uses his Buster form. Marth charges in and attacks with his Dancing Blade downwards combo. Shulk jumps back to avoid the attack and attacks back with some Sword Slashes on his own. Marth blocks and dodges each attack coming at him, lands an upwards Sword Slash, sending Shulk up above him, follows with the same attack, and follows it with a Upwards Sword Stab attack, sending him onto the top platform. Shulk changes into his Shield Monado form and got hit from a Air Sword Slash attack from Marth, but didn't flinch too hard. Marth continues landing some hits, but Shulk withstands the attacks and lands a strong Sword Thrust, followed up with a Sword Swing, knocking him away. Shulk turns into his final Monado form, Smash, and attacks with a lot of Sword Slashes. Marth jumps onto one of the platforms and strikes with a quick Dolphin Slash, knocking Shulk away pretty far. Shulk lands on his feet and charges in full force. Marth gets into his Counter Stance, predicting that a strong attack is about to hit him, but was tricked as Shulk jumps behind him and lands his Back Slash, sending him far into the Blast Zone and ending the match.

The match ended, Shulk and Marth returns back to the Smash Mansion as the Smashers cheer for the winner of the match.
"This battle has taught me many things that I'm not quite familiar with. It shows that I need to keep training." Marth says.
"I wasn't familiar with your swordsmanship either. There's plenty of things I need to learn from you too. We can train together sometime." Shulk says.
Marth smiles. "We should. I wish you the best of luck."
"Thanks. Now I'm really feeling it." Shulk says.
Shulk and Marth shake hands and went back to their seats.
"Marth and Shulk have given us a fine sword match up for everyoneto watch with their unique fighting styles. Maybe I should learn how to use a Sword like them. Jokes aside, you two did wonderful. Shulk will be moving onto the next round. Now for the last match for now, can I have Sonic and Little Mac come up to the Smash Computer?" Sakurai announces.
Sonic and Little Mac go up to the Smash Computer and chose a Final Destination version of Dreamland.
"Don't pull any Punches. You'll be needing them." Sonic says.
"I won't. They won't allow me to hold back even if I wanted too." Little Mac says.
Sonic and Little Mac teleports to the stage they're fighting in and the match begins in 3… 2… 1… Go!

Sonic runs in really fast and landed a quick Kick on Little Mac without time for him to react. Little Mac throws a Punch, but Sonic quickly dodges with his super speed and lands another Kick behind him. Sonic lands his Punch-Punch-Kick combo, follows it with a Flip Kick, and knocks Little Mac away with a Homing Attack. Little Mac gets back up on his feet and soon as he did, Sonic rushes in and Punched his face. Little Mac endured the attack and lands a strong Punch on Sonic's stomach and continues his attack by landing strong Punches left to right and follows it with a strong Smash Punch, sending Sonic flying off the stage. Sonic recovers with his Spring Jump, ledge jumps over Little Mac, and attacks with a fast falling Flying Kick. Little Mac blocks the attack and throws a Smash Uppercut. Sonic sidesteps the attack, knocks Little Mac off the stage with a strong Kick, and knocks away further with a Air Spinning Headbutt attack, taking the first stock. Little Mac recovers back on stage, rushes in and attacks with a Jolt Haymaker. Sonic jumps over Little Mac and lands a strong Air Back Kick, knocking him down. Little Mac got up his feet, rushes in, and throws many fast Punches hoping to hit. Sonic casually dodges each attack, crouch Spin Kicks Little Mac, follows with a upwards Double Kick, and ends his combo string with a Smash Windup Punch, knocking Little Mac offstage again. Little Mac recovers with his Rising Uppercut, but Sonic knocks him away further with a Homing Attack, followed up with another Homing Attack, and ending the match with a cool pose in just a couple of seconds.

Sonic and Little Mac arrived back at the Smash Mansion and the Smashers cheer for the winner of the match.
"Man… You're way too fast for me to hit you. I only landed a couple of Punches on you." Little Mac says.
"That's why I'm called the fastest thing alive. Not many people can catch up to my speed." Sonic says.
"Looks like I'll be needing to train harder if I want to beat you one day." Little Mac says.
"I'll have to say, your Punches reminds me of my friend, Knuckles back home. Except with the spikes on his hands." Sonic says.
Sonic and Little Mac shake hands and went back to their seats.
"Another quick match ended. Wow! For a first tournament, this is really going on with a bang. Sonic will be moving onto the next round. Now that the first part of the tournament is over, let's have a break until we start Semi Finals. Don't go anywhere, we'll be right back as soon as possible." Sakurai announces.
