Chapter Six.
The next morning at Collinwood, Juliet woke up early before she got out of bed and got dressed. She packed what she had taken out to be placed back in to her bag. She placed her music box in to her hand bag before she picked up her purse and her over night bag before she went to go down stairs towards the kitchen for some breakfast. Mrs. Johnson saw Mathews walking down the stairs and the maid warmly smiled at her. "Well, good morning there, Miss Mathews. Well, despite the storm that we had the night before. I was hoping that you slept all right last night?" Mrs. Johnson asked her. The maid was beginning to like her. She saw Juliet as a good hearted person.
Juliet chuckled softly. "I slept all right despite the storm from last night, Mrs. Johnson." She said to the maid with a small laugh. Mathews walked over to the chair in the dining room and she sat down and she waited for breakfast to be served. But even though, Juliet had to wait for Victoria, Liz, Carolyn, David and Roger to wake up before they come down for breakfast a long with coffee and tea. After they ate, Roger packed up his two suitcases and he had business in Boston for a few days, Carolyn gave Juliet a ride back to the Inn. Juliet had to go to the bank to deposit her money into an account at the Collinsport Savings Bank on her way back from Collinwood.
A Couple of hours later after they ate breakfast, Elizabeth and Vicki were in the drawing room. "Mrs. Stoddard, I was wondering if it would be all right with you if Juliet would stay here as long as she like at Collinwood?" Victoria asked Liz and she was hoping that Elizabeth would let Mathews live with the Collins family at Collinwood.
Liz looked at Winters with a warm loving smile. "Of course, Vicki, I'm all right with Miss Mathews staying here with us. Your friend, Juliet can stay as long as she wants to." Elizabeth said. Victoria was now very happy that Juliet was coming to live with the Collins family. Liz gave her a joyful smile and Victoria hugged her happily. All Winters had to do was go over to the Inn and talk to Mathews and ask her if she could live at Collinwood. Vicki walked out of the drawing room to go get her coat and she went out the door to drive one of the cars in the garage and drove over to the Inn to meet Juliet.
Later on that afternoon in Collinsport, Juliet was in her hotel room, sitting on the bed that was over by the window as she was working on her drawing on by pencil in her sketch book. She was going to do the painting right after she gets done doing the drawing. Mathews stopped her drawing for a moment when she heard a knock on the door. She walked over to the door and she opened it. She saw it was Winters. "Hello there, Vicki! It's so good to see you." She said with joy as Juliet and Victoria embraced each other. The both of them were very happy to see one another.
Vicki came in to her friend's hotel room and she saw some of Juliet's paintings. She picked up one of the paintings. "Oh, Juliet, I love this one with the landscaping of the farm land and the mountains in the back ground." Victoria said. But Mathews needed to know the reason as to why she was there. Juliet had some how knew what Winters was about to ask her. Vicki knew that Mathews had a good sharp mind. She was no fool. Winters smiled warmly at her friend when she placed the painting down. "Juliet, Mrs. Stoddard and I were talking earlier and I asked her if it would be all right if you would like to live at Collinwood." She asked her friend.
Juliet was a bit shocked at her friend's words. Did she hear her correctly? That Victoria wanted Mathews to come with her and to live at Collinwood? Juliet was smiling all the way with joy within her soul at this and so was Winters was very happy that when Mathews told her yes and she was coming to live at Collinwood. Both Victoria and Juliet would spend more time together. Vicki called up Burke and he offered to help and get the movers in town or the movers in Bangor to get Juliet's things from the Inn and moving over to Collinwood.
Mathews was more delighted at this. That means that she could have her own painting art studio and bedroom all in one room for her. This would be very good for Juliet. Later on that day at Collinwood, Juliet was now living at the great house. She had her easel over by the window and she had some of her paintings in the closet. She all ready sold some of her paintings to customers in town before she moved to Collinwood.
Before Juliet moved from the Inn that day, she also gave an art dealer from Augusta a few more paintings and the person gave her a check of fifteen tousand dollars and Mathews deposited the check into her bank account. After she had that done, Juliet got the sketch book and pencil and she started drawing for her next painting before Vicki came to see her when she asked her friend to come live with the Collins family.
At the Old House, Barnabas woke up from his slumber when he opened his coffin. The vampire climbed out of there as Willie came to meet him at sun set. "Good evening, Willie." Barnabas said with a smile. Loomis greeted back to him before the both of them went up the stairs. The vampire told Willie to go do his duties and his servant went on to do his work. Barnabas was thinking about Juliet while he was in his coffin. Mathews still was dominating the vampire's mind. He walked over to the coat rack to grab his cape coat to wrap around his shoulders and he took his wolf's head cane. He walked out of the Old House to the Inn with great speed to see Juliet. He hoped that she would be there.
At the Collinsport Inn Barnabas Collins walked in to the Inn and Mr. Wells saw the vampire went over to the desk. "Well, hello, Mr. Collins. What can I do for you?" He asked him with a greeting smile.
Barnabas looked at Wells with a small smile. "Ah, kind sir, I was wondering if Miss Mathews is here in her room if I may ask?" He asked him in hoping that she would be in her hotel room.
Mr. Wells frowned at Barnabas' question and he looked at him straight in the eyes. "Well, Mr. Collins, I'm afraid to say that Miss Mathews is no longer here." At his words, the vampire frowned and he asked him where she was at. "Even though, Miss Winters and Mr. Devlin came here to help Miss Mathews and she has moved from here to Collinwood." At Wells' words, Barnabas' eyebrows raised up to his hair line. The vampire thanked him politely and he quickly walked out of the door and he was anxious ro see Mathews and he went over to Collinwood to visit Juliet.
At Collinwood, Juliet was in the drawing room and she had her music box playing as she was working on her painting that she worked on her drawing earlier during the day. She had her paint colors on a small tray by her side a long with her paint brushes and her easel for her canvas to work on. Elizabeth was sitting down on the sofa, reading the newspaper and drinking her tea. Liz was listening to the music box that Juliet has. She gave Mathews a really good compliment of her good taste of music to help her mind clear from stress and other things that could overwhelmed her. Carolyn, Victoria and Burke were out at the Blue Whale with Joe, Maggie and Sam Evans for a little while.
Moments later, there was a knock on the door. Juliet stopped playing the music box by closing the top when she heard the door knock. Both Elizabeth and Juliet looked at each other with curiosity and confusion looks on their faces. "Mrs. Stoddard, are you expecting someone at this hour?" Mathews asked her softly and Liz told her that she was not expecting someone at this time of night, who was knocking on the door. Juliet resumed doing her painting while she was humming a music tume from her music box when Elizabeth then stood up from the sofa and she went to the door to see who it was. She opened the door and it certainly was Barnabas Collins, who was looking at his cousin with a grin.
Mathews stopped her humming when she heard Liz and Barnabas talking. Then, Juliet heard the vampire walking further in to the great house and she can hear Barnabas asking if the painter was here. "Elizabeth, I was wondering if Juliet is here? I would like to see her if she is here." He said and Liz told him that she was. The vampire's eyes lit up that Juliet was at Collinwood. "Mr. Wells has told me that she had moved here to Collinwood from Collinsport Inn." He said in hoping that Vicki's friend was here. Liz told him where she was and she lead him towards the drawing room.
The second Juliet heard him talking, she stopped herself from her painting before she stood up from the chair and Barnabas saw that Mathews was there. The vampire saw Juliet's eyes lit up and she went over to him to greet him. Barnabas felt the love coming from Mathews when she wrapped her arms around him in a hug. Elizabeth saw this and she gave them a loving smile. Liz had never seen the vampire loving and tender towards Mathews as Barnabas lovingly smiled as he rested his head in top of her head when he wrapped his arms around her and he closed his eyes in contentment. Liz could also tell that Barnabas loves Juliet.
When Juliet pulled back at arms length as her hands rested on his arms and she looked him straight in his eyes. "It's so good to see you again, Barnabas." The painter said happily to him. She smiled lovingly at the vampire. She was also falling in love with Barnabas even more stronger than before.
Barnabas chuckled. "It is very great pleasure to see you as well my dear, Juliet." He said. His eyes were filled with love and joy towards her. Elizabeth knew right off the bat that she figured that Barnabas was very fond of Juliet. Even he was falling in love with her she figured it out, but she knew that she was right about something that was going on in between Juliet and her cousin and they needed some time alone Liz thought to herself. Elizabeth walked out of the drawing room to go into the study room to do some reading on the records of the cannery family business.
After Liz left the room, Juliet then took a hold of his hand in hers before she and the vampire went over to where her painting was at. "What do you think of my painting I'm working on, Barnabas?" She asked him cheerfully when she gestured her painting to the vampire. He would love to kiss her lips when she bit her lower lip with her teeth.
The vampire saw her painting and he recognized that it was the town of Collinsport with the water, the boats, people in the background and the Blue Whale bar. Barnabas lifted his hand and he caressed the edged part of the canvas. "Juliet, this painting of yours is very magnificent." He told her when he praised her. Mathews smiled at him with joy as she squeezed his hand gently. She agreed with Barnabas when he suggested that she would donate it to an art dealer. Juliet chuckled and softly laughed at this. It is what she does was to donate her art work to museums and galleries. The vampire knew that there was no more Angelique what so ever and he can now love the woman he loves right in front of him.
Barnabas felt that he could not stay away from her. He needed to say the three words to her. "Juliet," He said softly when Mathews looked up at him. He knew the minute she looked at him when he first met her when she was asleep, he knew that he was falling in love with her. But he did not tell her that when he saw her in the hotel room at the Inn whe she was asleep though. She waited patiently for him to speak. Barnabas sighed softly and he took her hand in to his and they sat down on the couch as they looked at each other. "When I first saw you, Juliet, I feel that I can not stay away from you what so ever. I can not take my eyes off of you." He said before he lifted his hand and he caressed her cheek.
Juliet leaned in to his hand. She placed her hand on top of his and she kissed his hand lovingly. "You've been on my mind as well, Barnabas. Ever since I met you, I feel that I've known you for a long time. Even though, it felt like years that I've known you for so long. And I do love you." She said in a whisper and Barnabas gave her a longing look. He was glowing with love for her pretty strongly. "Do you love me, Barnabas?" She asked in hoping that he would not reject her. It would devastated her severely if he did.
The vampire's face was now mere inches from hers when he held her hands in his. He felt her fear of him rejecting her and he saw her tears forming in her eyes. Actually the total opposite to this as he rested his forehead against hers and he sighed as he gazed right in to her eyes. Mathews lifted her hand and she caressed his cheek. Barnabas leaned into her hand and he kissed her palm tenderly. "My dearest, Juliet, you dominated my thoughts ever since I first saw you. I do love you and I want to be with you for all eternity." Barnabas told her. He really does love Juliet.
Barnabas then wrapped his arms around Juliet and he closed the distance between the two of them. He tenderly brushed his lips to hers. The vampire poured his love for Mathews in to their kiss and Juliet poured her love in to the kiss. He knew that in the future was when Juliet would figure out his dark secret sooner or later. He knew that he could trust her. He knew that she would be willing to be with Barnabas for as long as he lived.
