Chapter Nine.
Over at Collinwood, It was around eight in the evening, Vicki was waiting down in the foyer and there was a knock on the door. Winters noticed that it was a rushed knocking. She sighed in relief when she opened the door and she saw Barnabas. The vampire walked in to the great estate and stepped in to the foyer. "Good evening, Miss Winters, if I may ask. Where would Juliet be?" He asked.
Barnabas saw the worried look on her Victoria's face. "Oh, Mr. Collins, she's up stairs in her bed room crying. Mrs. Stoddard is with her now. Did Mr. Loomis told you what happened to Juliet?" The vampire nodded to her and told her that his servant did. "I will take you to her." She said when she guided Barnabas up the stairs to Mathews' bed room.
In her bed room, Juliet was resting half of her body in Elizabeth's lap. Mathews passed out from crying so much. Liz rubbed her back as she looked down at her in concern. She knew that she passed out from sobbing so much. She sighed when she shook her head. And just then, Elizabeth heard Vicki and the vampire walked in to the room. Winters excused herself when she heard Carolyn walked in the front door. The second he saw Juliet on her bed, Barnabas rushed over to where Liz and Mathews was at.
The vampire placed his hand on his love's cheek when he placed his cane on the head her bed and he sat down and he stared down at Juliet with concern. He looked up at his cousin. "Elizabeth, is Juliet all right? Willie told me what had happened." Barnabas asked with worry as he caressed her hair.
Liz gave her cousin a small smile. "Yes, Barnabas, she will be all right. She just passed out from crying so much." She said to him. "When she had that phone call earlier from her friend, Susan from New York. Juliet was going in to distress she told her that her former boyfriend was coming to kill her." She added.
Barnabas just had a thought. "Elizabeth, what about this man, who is coming after our dear Juliet here?" He asked her as he caressed her hair with one hand and held her hand with his other.
Liz raised her eyebrows in interest. "First things first, Barnabas. I was thinking on that you would bring Juliet with you to the Old House to keep her hidden when this man named, Eric comes here and then, we will report him to the authorities and put his man behind bars." She said when she was planning this. The vampire agreed to this completely. But he may have other plans for Eric. He could not wait to get after this man for harming his Juliet.
Elizabeth carefully lifted Juliet off of her lap and Barnabas held Mathews protectively in to his arms. Liz smiled lovingly at this the way the vampire held his love. Barnabas kissed the side of her head and he rested his head on top of Juliet's head. He would never want to lose her to this man, Eric coming to kill her. He would do anything to protect and love his soon bride to be.
Liz stood up from the painter's bed and she helped the vampire to get an over night bag to put some of her clothes in and Barnabas lifted Juliet in to his arms bridal style. Elizabeth picked up his cane for him and they walked out of her bed room. Down in the foyer, Carolyn was shocked when Vicki told her about what had happened to Juliet. "If there is anything I can do to help Juliet, I'll be more than glad to, Vicki." She said with determination.
Moments later, Winters and Carolyn saw her mother walking down the stairs with Barnabas with Juliet in his arms. Liz's daughter asked her mother where Barnabas was going with Mathews. "Barnabas is bringing Juliet to the Old House for the time being. Her former boyfriend is going to try and kill her. I will call Sheriff Patterson when I get back from the Old House." Elizabeth said and Carolyn completely understood. Barnabas, carrying Juliet and Elizabeth walked out of Collinwood and going through the woods towards the Old House.
Later on that night, Eric drove right in to Collinsport, Maine and he drove his truck over to the to the Blue whale bar and he asked some of the people there some questions to know if Juliet was around and they told him that she was at the Collinsport Inn. Juliet's for boyfriend walked out of the bar with a wicked evil grin on his face. Or so Eric thought. Burke Devlin looked at this man with suspicion. He did not like the look on his face when he walked out of the Blue Whale.
Devlin had a bad feeling about this guy. He could feel trouble was going to be brewing pretty soon. Burke's instincts were kicking in when he walked over to the pay phone and he called his investigators. His friend answered by the second ring. Burke spoke first. "Hey there, Leon, do me a favor and do an investigation on this guy named, Eric (l/n.) I've seen him before in New York and I got a very funny feeling that something is about to come down bad from this guy." He said over the phone.
His investigator friend totally agreed all the way. He told Burke that he will help him find out about this guy. Burke knew he saw Eric around New York before. Devlin hung up the phone and he walked out of the bar to go to Collinwood to see Winters and ask her what was going on. He had a very bad feeling about this. Eric was really bad news after all.
