Chapter Ten.

Over at the Old House, Elizabeth and the vampire walked in to the house and Barnabas carried Juliet in to the living room and he gently placed her down in one of the arm chairs. Barnabas just could not take his eyes off of his love and never selft her side. Elizabeth placed her bag right beside Mathews and Liz had to make sure that Mathews was all right before she went back to Collinwood to make a phone call. Elizabeth wanted this bad man behind bars for many years to come. But Barnabas Collins has other plans for Eric. He wanted him dead by strangulation.

The vampire was afraid that if he bit and drank Eric's blood, he would turn him in to a vampire like himself and his Juliet would be in terrible grave danger. The would be really bad. Barnabas would definitely not let that happen at all. Not ever. Barnabas would not lose Juliet to this former boyfriend of Juliet's.

When he walked back in to the Old House, Willie Loomis saw his master standing in front of Juliet. Willie thought at first that Barnabas had hurt her or worse, but the vampire told his servant that Mathews' former boyfriend was out to get her. Loomis understood this fully. "Willie, take Juliet's things up stairs to Josette's room if you will please." He said to his servant. And Willie took Juliet's bag and did what his master told him to do. Loomis picked up Mathews' things and he walked up the stairs to Josette's old bed room.

Barnabas knealed down and he saw that Juliet stirred and she opened her eyes. She gasped quietly and she looked around and the vampire sensed that she was wondering where she was at and he also sensed that she was in fear of her former boyfriend coming to kill her. Mathews looked up at him. "Barnabas, I'm not at Collinwood. Where am I?" She asked her love. She rested her hand on his forearm. She was so very much loves Barnabas Collins as much as the vampire loves her. He knew that he can keep her safe.

The vampire was still kneeling down right in front of her when he rested his hand on her cheek and caressed her face. Juliet leaned in to his touch and she kissed his palm. He softly chuckled. "You are at the Old House, my dearest, Juliet. You are at my house." He said to her as Barnabas took a hold of her hand and he helped her stand up from the chair.

The vampire was holding her close to him while she was trembling from feeling scared of Eric. "I will love and protect you from this man, my love." Barnabas said before he kissed the side of her face as he helped her up the stairs to Josette's room. The vampire would do anything in his power to keep her safe from this nut case, who happen to be Eric.

In town and at Collinsport Inn, Eric walked in and Mr. Wells saw him and he could tell that something was terribly off about him. Something sinister about this man right in front of him. Eric looked pale and he had dark circles underneath his eyes like he was under some drugs. "Excuse me, sir.I was wondering if there's a lady named Juliet Mathews. Is she here, sir?" He asked him with a bit of a slur. Like he was under the influence of something. Mr. Wells heard the name of Juliet Mathews and he thought for the best was not to tell this man where Mathews was at.

The hotel owner knew exactly that Juliet was living with the Collins' family at Collinwood. Mr. Wells had a very bad feeling about this man. So, he had to think of a way to lie to this guy and to get him to be on his way and try to get him out of Collinsport. "I'm sorry sir. Miss Mathews checked out of here yesterday and she went out of town. I have no idea where she was going though." Mr. Wells lied to him in hoping to get him out of the Inn and never come back ever.

Eric looked at him blankly, but he was a bit disappointed for a moment and then he says, "Oh, okay then. I will see her around then when I'm driving by any way. Have a good night, sir." He said with a fake smile before he turned around. And just as Eric turned around and left the Inn, Mr. Wells' eyes widened when he saw what it looked like a gun on the belt of his pants. The hotel owner now realized that Eric is really bad news. So Mr. Wells picked up the phone and he called the Collins' family at Collinwood.

At Collinwood, Elizabeth was on the phone with Mr. Wells when he told her about the man, who was looking for Juliet. Liz's eyes widened and her eyebrows raised. Even though, she thanked him for the news about Eric. Carolyn asked her mother what had happened and Elizabeth told her that Juliet was in grave danger. Carolyn covered her mouth with her hand and her eyes widened in shock. She was stunned at first and now, she wanted to help Jukiet out.

"Don't worry, Carolyn, Juliet is over at the Old House with Barnabas. She is well looked after." She told her daughter. "Juliet has to stay there until this bad man is under arrest and behind bars." Elizabeth added. Carolyn sighed in relief at this and went to go to her bed room for the time being. So Liz was now waiting for George Patterson to come a long with his deputies to catch this bad man and very soon.

Eric was driving his truck and asking around for Juliet and he saw a long drive way going up the hill. So, Eric decided to turn on to the drive way to see where this path would lead to. And as he drove further down the way, he saw another drive way, but small. It was covered with gravel, grass and weeds growing under the rocks a long the way down to a house. So, Eric turned his truck down that path. And that would lead him down over to the Old House.
