Christmas time had arrived, and everyone was getting ready for the holiday's. Streets in Japan were decorated with lights and reefs, while kids started to get their list together for Santa.
Yuuki's classroom also got into the Christmas spirit, as they were getting ready to have a small Christmas party in the classroom. Yuuki was put in charge of decorating. Despite working alone, Yuuki was able to get a lot done, hanging reefs in the classroom and putting a small strand of lights on the window
Last but not least came the Christmas tree. The tree in question wasn't that tall, only being just around 4 feet, maybe even a little under.
"It's not much, but at least I don't have to climb up to put the tree on the star." he said to himself. Before Yuuki put the star on the tree, he looked around at the empty classroom. While he was proud of himself for getting the decorations done, a part of him wished that he had the help of some friends or fellow classmates.
"I hope I don't have to spend Christmas like this…better yet, I hope nobody has to spend Christmas like this." He thought to himself.
After a short break, Yuuki grabbed the star and was about to place it on top of the tree, when he heard someone open up the door.
"Yuuki? Is that you?"
Startled by the sound of the door opening up, Yuuki dropped the star, causing it to shatter.
"Oh my, what happened? Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, Io-chan, the star just broke." Yuuki said, heading to the closet in the room to grab a broom and pan.
"Sorry for startling you Yuuki, I take it you're decorating the class for our party tomorrow?"
Yuuki nodded. As Yuuki was cleaning up, Io looked around the classroom to see all that Yuuki had done.
"I must say, you did a good job decorating on your own. Still, I wish you would have come to me and asked for help."
"It's fine Io-chan, I had the most free time out of everyone else." Yuuki said. After sweeping up the star, Yuuki was about to head home when Io stopped him.
"You're not going to replace the star on top of the tree?"
"I'd like to but-"
"Then let me help you." Io said with a smile.
Next thing Yuuki knew, he was out walking the streets of the town with Io-chan, looking for a store that sold Christmas tree decorations.
"The town looks nice this time of year huh?"
"Yeah. I always liked going for walks and looking at all the decorations." Yuuki said, walking alongside Io.
"I hope you don't mind coming with me."
"It's fine, I always wanted to do something like this with someone special."
"Someone special?" Yuuki thought. Before he could say anything, Io pointed out a store that sold Christmas decorations.
Yuuki and Io looked inside the store, which was decorated from head to toe full of all sorts of Christmas decoration items alongside possible gifts for boys and girls. While looking around, Yuuki spotted a Christmas tree star similar to their old one.
"Hey, Io-chan, what do you think of that star?"
"It looks perfect to have on our tree! How much would it cost us though?"
Yuuki looked at the price of the star. While it wasn't as expensive as he thought it would be, it was still a bit out of his price range.
"I'm not sure I have enough for this Io-chan."
"Well, let me ask the manager if there's a discount he can give us."
"You don't have to go through all that trouble…" Yuuki said, but Io didn't listen and spoke to the manager of the store. The manager agreed to give Io the star for a discount, but only if she helped sell some of the Christmas ornaments and other decorations.
The store was having trouble selling them, and wanted to get rid of them this year so they didn't have to put them in storage to sell until next year.
"Are you sure about this Io-chan?" Yuuki asked her with concern in his voice.
"It's fine Yuuki. I don't mind playing Santa for the day."
"Playing Santa?"
Next thing Yuuki knew, Io-chan was wearing a red Santa dress with fishnet leggings.
"What do you think?"
"It…looks beau-I mean good on you." Yuuki said.
"Were you about to say it looks beautiful on me?"
Yuuki didn't reply, but judging by his blushing face, Io took that as a "yes".
Io-chan Santa became a big hit, with people, mostly men, lining up to buy something from her.
"Hey! You cut in front of me!"
"No I didn't!"
"Hey, calm down! No fighting in line!" Yuuki said to two customers who were arguing with each other. Even when Io-chan successfully sold everything, men were still lining up wanting to see Io and even sit on her lap.
Eventually, the store owner all shooed them away, telling them all away.
"No fair! I want to see the beautiful Santa Clause!"
"Me too!" the customers said in protest.
Because of how well Io-chan was able to sell everything, the owner of the store gave the Christmas tree star to her for free. Yuuki and Io were walking out of the store side by side, with Yuuki holding the Christmas tree star.
"Thanks for all your help Io-chan. I hope it wasn't too much trouble…"
"It's OK Yuuki. I'm just glad we got our star for the tree. Plus, we were able to go out on a date."
"A date?" Yuuki said.
"Well, I know it's not exactly a date, but doesn't it feel like one…with us just walking down the streets and looking at all the lights."
"Yeah…but Io-chan if the school finds out we'll be in trouble."
"You're right…but still, if I wasn't your teacher, would you consider dating me Yuuki?"
Yuuki's face got bright red at the question. Why was his homeroom teacher asking him a question like that? Before he could respond, he heard a couple of his classmates.
"Yuuki! What the hell are you doing dating Io-chan!?"
"No, no, I wasn't going on a date with her, I was just helping her out. I mean she was helping me out!"
"I'll never forgive you for this you bastard!" said another student.
Yuuki tried to catch up to them to explain his side of the story, but it was no use.
"And welcome back." Ames said to Yuuki.
"Another dream huh?"
"Yep. I'm sure you know the drill by now so I won't give you the same speech. You certainly got yourself into some interesting situations back in that world huh?"
Yuuki nodded.
"Still…I will admit you and Io-chan did indeed look like a couple, walking through the streets together. I can't speak for that world, but maybe in this one you two can bond more."
"She's still technically my teacher in this world though…"
"Ahh that's right, she was the one who taught you how to read and write. Still, I recommend doing something nice for her when you wake up, as you're currently asleep in her classroom."
Just then, Yuuki woke up. As Ames told him, he was indeed in the classroom at Lucent Academy. Like in his dream, the classroom was decorated for Christmas, with some lights and reefs around the classroom.
"Hey Yuuki."
"Hey Io-chan. I fell asleep didn't i?"
"I'm afraid so. Don't worry though, I fell asleep too." she said with a smile.
"Sorry about that."
"It's OK. Though, if you really do feel bad about it, I could use your help with something."
"What can I help you with?"
"See that tree over there?" Io pointed to a tree that stood in the corner of the classroom. The tree had some decorations on it along with some lights, but was missing a star on top of it.
"It's got everything but a star on top of it. I was wondering if you could go out with me and look for a star to place on top of it." she said with a smile.
"Sure, I'll help you." Yuuki said with a smile.
"Great, come on then." Io said, grabbing Yuuki's hand. Unlike his dream, Yuuki and Io were holding hands with each other as they walked through the decorated streets of Landsol. Yuuki had just hoped that unlike his dream, he could easily get the star without Io-chan having to sell stuff, even if she did look good in that Santa outfit…
