Chapter 2 -All in the Family/Slayer Scrolls
Chapter 1- Tommy -Knowing is My Battle
Day1?
Level 12 Medical Wing
Doctor Frasier arrives to find young Tommy chowing down on one of the biggest cheeseburgers she has ever seen in her entire life. She also takes notice of a huge 44 oz what looks to be a chocolate milkshake an onion rings off to the side of it.
"Hi. You must be Tommy. The base is buzzing about you. I'm Doctor Frasier."
The sandy hair boy nods while he quickly gulps down the bite of food he had been eating when she had entered. After he finishes off the bite with a slurp of chocolate milkshake he says. "Sorry about that but I was hungry. Yeah, I am Tommy. I take it you are here to make sure I am okay and I am who I say I am.
"There is no reason to be sorry you are a growing young man. And you are very astute. Do you mind if I examine you?" The Doctor says and asks.
"You can but I can tell you right now I don't like needles. But if you'll get me to see my grandfather sooner or rather than later. Just have the biggest Airmen hold me down so I don't hit you." He informs her.
"Oh, don't worry, I save the big needles for someone else. We will have to check your blood would you like your grandfather to be here when I do that." She tells him with a bright smile.
"OK but you still are going to need the Airmen I hate needles as much as Chrissy hates heights." Tommy explains.
"You talk as though she is here." Doctor Fraser points out as she checks his heart rate and blood pressure.
"Chrissy's not here but she will be! It just will be a while." Tommy says matter-of-factly.
"That's good to know it's also good to know that she doesn't like heights." Doctor Frasier says with a smile.
For the next little bit Janet checks over Tommy and finds he is in perfect health. So she is a bit concern at some of the scars and fading bruising she finds.
"I was going to offer this…" She says as she shows him a looie pop. "But I don't know if you can eat it after that burger you had. That was huge where did you get it? I know someone who would love it. Plus, my daughter would love that shake."
"Dean loves burgers and he saw this sign at a diner call Joe's saying it had the biggest burgers in the state, so we stopped." Tommy answers honestly even though she is trying to get more details about what happened.
"Dean sounds like he loves to eat."
"Oh boy does he. He also can play pool." Tommy said with a smile.
"Is he one of the ones that helped you and your sister?"
"Yeah, him and his brother are the best. We wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for them. And before you ask. They are brothers and they were in a bar and overheard some weirdos' saying they were going to attack our place. The cop they talk too didn't believe them, so they decided to check it out for themselves."
"That was very nice of them."
"Sam is Dean brother told us that his mom was killed when he was just a kid and didn't want it to happen to anyone else."
"Well than I can definitely understand why they helped you." Janet says as she writes some notes in the chart, she had made for him.
"You are very nice but if you ever go into a war zone duck." Tommy tells her after he gazes off for a few moments.
"I'm sure I will." Doctor Frazier says with a little bit of confusion on her face.
"No, I mean it if you don't you will be shot." Tommy tells her as a-matter-of-fact and grabs her hand at which she gets a sudden glimpse of her own possible death.
"I am so sorry that's the first time that's ever happened." Tommy says as he pulls back not liking that fact that he may have hurt her.
"It's okay Tommy. I am okay…Does that happen very often that you see things like that?" Doctor Fraser says as she shakes off what happened to her.
"Most of the time it's just nightmares that come true but lately it's been happening during the day. What just happened is brand new." Tommy answers her honestly as he starts to cry. "I lost my parents I don't want to lose another nice lady like you so please duck."
"Okay Tommy I will duck. I promise." Doctor Frasier confidently tells the boy as she pulls him into a motherly hug which only causes the young boy to cry harder at the loss of his parents.
Doctor Janet Fraser comforts the crying boy for about an hour until he cries himself to sleep in her arms which is how general George Hammond finds them.
"I take it the grief hit him?" General Hammond quietly asks. To which Janet just nods. She mouths to him for help putting the young boy into the bed. The two managed to put the boy to bed and as he's laying down to sleep, he desperately grabs his grandfather's hand.
"Please don't leave me." He mournfully begs.
"I'm not going anywhere." The general says sternly
Looking into his grandfather's eyes the young man looks over at the doctor and says. "OK you could take my blood."
"Do I need to call the Airmen?" Janet asks which cause Hammond to give her a strange look.
"I don't like needles and I told her she would need an Airmen to hold me down if she wanted to draw my blood." Tommy tells him. "But if I can hold Grandpa G hand really tight."
"As tight as you like son. And don't worry you aren't they only one who doesn't like needles on this base." Hammond says with a big grin.
"Jack is the only one who gets the big needles. You and I both know he deserves them." Janet smiles while taking Tommy's blood quickly and without any fuss other than Hammond getting a bruised hand.
"That is true." General Hammond says with a smile towards his grandson.
"Here you go. You can eat this later." Janet says as she hands him the looie pop.
"Thank you. Don't forget your promise." Tommy says with a yawn.
"I will duck." Janet says to which Hammond gives her a look as if to ask what that was all about. She returns the look with a look that says. "I'll explain later." Then leaves the now sleeping boy who was still latched on to his grandfather.
Outside of the room Janet gives the nurse special instructions for running Tommy's blood just as Jack, Teal'c and Carter arrive.
"What was that all about?" Carter says as she recognizes the test.
"I think Tommy is very special."
"Why?"
"I will hopefully know more after the test but until his grandfather releases that information I think it's best too." Janet explains.
"Okay. Is the General in there?"
"Yes, but now is not a good time."
"Okay we'll come back later."
While Tommy sleeps General Hammond didn't leave his side as there were several times he would call out for his mom or sister. It was one of these occasions that he went to hold him that he saw what his grandson saw. Mythical monsters ripping into young girls and only leaving behind body parts even as they tried to fight these creatures. Hammond goes to help her but only walks right through the creature about to attack her. Anger reached his face as all he could do was watch his own granddaughter fighting dodging and weaving. She even was using the same sword he had seen her use in the video and wearing her backpack.
"This hasn't happened yet but it's going to very soon." Tommy said as he stood next to his grandfather who was inside a cave watching everything. "That sword is special now so is the si along with her backpack."
"How?"
"I just know that someone very powerful blessed the sword never to break or dull while the backpack will ease her burden by being limitless and always protecting her back." Tommy tells him. "She will need more help though.."
"We will find her son and we will help them." General Hammond affirms with the determined voice as he could do nothing but watch as young girls fought and died in front of him.
"No, you won't because if you do this won't happen and it has too." Tommy says as they both watch the girls suddenly go from losing too truly fighting back as if they got a huge powerful second wind.
"What is?"
"They are Slayers now. But they can only fight they can't seal the gate. Only he can." Tommy says as they watch as an amulet on blonde guy starts emanating power from his chest.
"Do you know what will happen if it doesn't?"
"Ancient evil will send his minions through to our world and they will devour us first than the rest of the world and beyond." Tommy answers in with fear lacing his voice.
It was at that moment the earth began to shake, and rock started to fall, and Tommy woke up.
Hammond sits up and looks around seeing his grandson also waking up he asks. "Are you OK son?"
"Yes. You are the first person to ever share one of those nightmares with me."
"Do you have those a lot?"
Tommy just nods.
"Well then I guess I have a lot more nightmares to help you deal with." general Hammond said flatly causing Tommy to smile So general Hammond pushed it a little bit and says. " Why don't you tell me about the other nightmares you've been having."
Tommy nods his head and begins to tell him all the nightmares he has had over the past few years. General Hammond just sits back Holding the boy's hand listening but all the while wanting to take the nightmares away from his grandson. after several hours Tommy gets up and uses the restroom while general Hammond orders some food and a recorder. General Hammond sees the depression in his grandson's face and decides to change the topic about his grandsons' cousins. Tommy starts to smile at the thought of meeting other relatives that he had been denied being able to meet. An airman shows up with a large plate of food for both. Grandfather and grandson eat happily together While chatting about baseball basketball and video games.
"You design your own video games?" general Hammond asks with much pride.
"Yes, I do. they're mostly for young kids but I got one that I'm working on the older kids enjoy more it's called pizza gate. It has the biggest followers and gamers." Tommy proudly tells him. "If I don't make an update soon, they're gonna revolt. Especially Turtle Titan."
"Unfortunately, nothing survived the fire." General Hammond tells him.
"I save them on the server so it's OK I just need a computer with Internet access to work on it." Tommy tells him with a yawn.
"You still look tired why don't you get some more sleep. Later I will see what I cand about getting you a computer to work on your games. But right now I should call your grandmother and let her know you are here. She is so going to fuss over you." Hammond said with a smile.
"Can you call her from here.?"
"Yes." Hammond says with a sly smile than goes over to the door and asks the Airman there to get a phone in there.
A short while later the Airman arrives with the phone and leaves with the empty trays. The General tucks his grandson and then takes the phone off the hook and call his wife.
"George, Honey if you calling to tell me you are going to be late. I swear I will have your hide pinned to the wall. I told you we are leaving tonight to find our grandchildren!" Celia Hammond voice could be clearly heard from the phone so much so that George had to pull it away from his ear.
"Actually, I will be late, but you can come visit me." Hammond said with a sneaky smile on his face and gave his grandson a wink as he hands the phone to him.
"I will do no such thing. I am not going to wait for you."
"So that means you aren't going to come and see me grandma." Tommy says with a smile. "I want to meet you."
"Oh, my sweet Jesus is that you Tommy?!" Celia asks as she starts to cry happy tears.
"Yes it's me."
A whaling sound filling the room causing both grandfather and grandson to cringe in pain and guilt..
"I am okay grandma. So are you coming to see me?"
"Of course, is your sister there too."
"Not yet…But are you still going to come?" Tommy sadly says.
"I am getting my coat right now, but I can't drive but if I have to walk I will." Celia says as she is doing it.
"Celia dear, I'll have an airman come get you so please wait for him." Hammond says as he takes the phone back.
"He better hurry." Celia informed her husband.
"Yes dear." George replied that's tone said. "I will explain what I can when you get here."
"I love you."
"I love you too." George said as he hung up the phone.
"Oh boy she is even more than what mom said." Tommy smiles in disbelief.
"You are just getting the tip of the iceberg." Hammond laughs. "It's a good thing that I sent a airman to pick her up just before you woke.
"What are we going to say about Chrissy?"
"That depends on..."
"What I know. You know some but there is much more, but I can't tell you yet."
"Why?"
"Because you'll try and stop it. If you do it will end the world. Only the Slayer line can stop it."
"What is it?"
"It calls itself the first evil."
"What is the slayer line?"
"From what I can tell and understand it started with one Slayer at a time. But that is soon going to change, and it must happen. Chrissy is going to be one and many more. They are needed not just here on earth but…"
"What do you mean not just here?"
"I am not sure. I know that they will be here and beyond. You must be ready. They will need your help and you will need theirs to save everyone."
"How do you?"
"You saw some, but I know there is more like you have 5 bugs in your office and many more around this base. Also, two of the guards on duty aren't loyal to you they relay everything back to some major guy." Tommy explains. "Oh, it's best you don't put what I can do in any reports."
"You see that?"
"The bugs no they just give off a buzzing noise and they give me headaches. The guards I think I heard them say that the Major would want to know I was here, but I don't remember seeing their mouths move." Tommy explains.
"You can hear the bugs from my office all the way from here and how do you know where my office is?"
"I saw it in my dreams not everything I dream are nightmares." Tommy answers.
"We are going to have to have a long talk about what you see in your nightmares. Like do you know where and what happened to your sister?"
"I don't know yet what happened to Chrissy right after we were separated but I want to." Tommy says with a yawn. "But I think that with the FBI lady who will be arriving shortly. I'll just tell her what happened not what I know."
"That might be a good idea. You get some more rest. I'll stay here until your grandma comes." Hammond says.
"Be nice the FBI lady she has a rough time ahead of her." Tommy says as he nods off.
"Okay son." Hammond says than hears a soft knocking at the door. When he opens it, he finds Walter outside.
"Sir the FBI have sent word that their agent should be here with in couple of hours."
"Have an upper briefing ready for interview only she is not staying here. Walter I want you to do a special security check focus on my office and don't leave there until you find 5 bugs. I want all the main area's that information is relayed scanned for at least the same amount."
"Yes sir."
A short time later Celia arrived and made the Airman's job very difficult as she just wanted to rush into her grandson.
"I am sorry Ma'am, but we have to.."
"I don't care I want in to see my grandson NOW!" Celia demands.
"Ma'am it is…"
"Listen if you don't let me…"
"Celia dear could you please allow my Airman to do his job so he can get you in quickly." George says as he came to the gate.
"Where is Tommy?"
"He is resting. So just let the Airman do his job."
Celia finally relents and allows the Airman to do his job, but she did unnerve him as she gave him the evil eyes all the while.
"She is scarier than the General." The Airman remarks once the couple has left and are out of range of being overheard.
"The General just got more respect points from me." The other Airman remarks.
General Hammond takes his wife to where their grandson is sleeping without issue.
"Celia dear I suggest not waking him he needs the rest." George asks of her once they were at the door. "Don't badger him with questions until the FBI talks to him.
"Of course, dear. Has he said anything about his sister?"
"Only that she'll try and get here."
"Oh, thank heavens."
"I have a debriefing to I must attend this Airman will stay at the door and if you need anything just ask." George says as he kisses the shorter woman on the head then lets her inside. Both are happy to see that Tommy is still sleeping sound. After which the General leaves.
Briefing Room Cheyenne Mountain.
General Hammond was glad to see that not only all of SG-1 was there but Doctor Fraiser.
"How is he doing, Sir?" Jack asks as he sat down.
"Resting Celia is with him right now."
"That is good."
"We have a lot to go over." General Hammond says. "I'll start but first. Walter is going to check the briefing room for bugs."
"Sir."
Walter walks in and starts checking the briefing room it takes a little bit but he finds four bugs.
"Son of.." Jack hisses as he sees the last bug was under the coffee pot in the middle of the table.
"I believe that is the last one." Walter informs them.
"And the ones in my office?"
"We found 4 only at first but when you said to look for 5 we found it hidden in your door nob and was only active when the door was shut." Walter told them.
"Thank you but I want the main areas of this base, along with all changing area's checked on a bi-weekly schedule from now on. "
"I will set it up right away sir."
"You are dismissed."
"How did you know about the bugs?"
"My grandson."
"What?"
"How could he?"
"He informed me about them and much more. The more is what is really unsettling to me."
"Wait. Janet you ordered those tests. Did you know?" Carter asks.
"I suspected when he kept telling me to duck when I am in a warzone. I didn't think anything of it until he touched me, and I saw and felt my own death." Janet answers.
"What?"
"He says at first it was just nightmares that came true, but his ability seems to be growing." Janet explains.
"How do you know?"
"After I saw my death Tommy told me that was the first time anyone else saw what he saw." Janet explains.
"That is intense."
"I ran the tests to check and see if there is any reason why he has that ability and why it is suddenly growing." Janet explains.
"How is he other than that?"
"Well, he has one hell of an appetite. He completely devoured one of the biggest cheeseburgers I have ever seen. He then wolfed down a large Onion rings follow by a 44oz chocolate shake. So physically he is in better shape than a racehorse. I am a little concerned about the scars and bruising I found but I didn't ask. Right now, I think is the first time he could let his guard down and grieve. We will need to go slow with him. I suggest that you get him a counselor who is in the know."
"I will do that. What have the test revealed?" General Hammond asks.
"Well one he is your grandson, but he is not your sons-in-laws child." Janet says while opening a folder. "I am having the lab running comparisons with all branches of the military to see who the father might be. But it's a long shot. I haven't done a MRI but it looks like Tommy has a correlation to the ancient gene like Jack but with a different variant."
"Do you think that is what is giving him these abilities?"
"It is a good possibility Sir. I would like to run an MRI and a few other tests if it's OK with you and Tommy."
"I will talk to him about it afterwards. And this makes what he told and showed me even more grave for me to relay to you."
"What is it Sir?"
"My granddaughter along with the other girls that have gone missing have been chosen by some power to fight an ancient evil and there's not a Dang thing we can do to stop it or help them!"
"What!?"
"Tommy started having a nightmare I went to comfort him, and I was pulled into his nightmare. What I saw will haunt me for the rest of my life. We were in a large cavern and those missing young girls were fighting monsters that should not exist! They put to shame any alien we have come in contact with. Their Savage brutality along with sheer strength combined with their numbers would devour our world in just a matter of days."
"How is that possible?"
"I could determine these creatures were from another dimension and were trying to enter ours. From what I understand they don't just want ours. But we have a chance what Tommy show me he says hasn't happen yet."
"We can help them."
"I want to help just as much as you Jack, but we have no clue where to start. Plus, Tommy says we won't be able to. But that doesn't me we can't try. Doctor Frasier, if those girls survive they're going to need medical assistance I want medical unit standing by on a moment's notice to move wherever they may be needed. Major Carter I noticed there was some sort of power being given off by an amulet being worn the only male I saw among them. Is there any way you could possibly be able to track it or notified if it goes off?"
"That depends on what it is but if it's as powerful as you say it will give off some kind of radiation signature I might be able to track."
"Doctor Jackson those creatures the girls were fighting I will do my best to describe them to you and I want to see if you can find anything on them. I want to know their weaknesses. Once we figure out what they are I want you to work with Jack and Teal'c to determine the best way to combat them and make sure they do not enter this base."
"No problem, Sir?"
"General on Chalak there are secret legends of young girls chosen to fight the Dienee." Teal'c explains.
"What are Dienee?" Jack asks.
"I think the work means… Soul or life Eater." Danny inputs.
"Actually, it is Blood Feeder, but these creatures are said to be so strong they could rip a man in half. They would feed on their enemy's blood." Teal'c corrects Danny.
"That sound like what I saw."
"How could these girls stop that?" Carter wonders.
"It was said that the young girls were blessed with strength, speed and powers beyond that of even a Jaffa." Teal'c continues.
"Who blessed them?" Daniel asks.
"It was never revealed." Teal'c answers.
"Tommy called them Slayers. And it seems that this goes beyond Earth." So that makes it our jurisdiction.
"I think I remember reading something about some tribe's in Africa talking about the origins of the girl who is seems to be similar to what you two have described. And now that think about it there also there was a former curator from the British Museum I think his name was Rupert Giles who did several papers on the subject." Daniel says as writes down everything he things is important.
"I have no proof other than what Tommy has said so I'll wait on notifying the President. But I want this base security doubled. No one is to be anywhere on this base without being armed and I mean anywhere."
"Sir. Wont there be questions about."
"We will tell them that one of our Allies warned us of a possible threat to happen very soon."
"I might suggest that we contact some of Allies and ask if they have any such legends." Daniel inputs.
"That is a good suggest Dr. Jackson start with Thor. I believe he is still up grading our ships." General Hammond recommends.
"Do you know how much time we have?" Jack inquires.
"Tommy doesn't know for sure, but he says a week if that."
"Just how much does he know sir?"
"A lot don't worry when he wakes up, I am having him sign the forms."
"Has he told you why and how he got separated from his sister?" Carter asks.
"Not yet."
The group brainstorm for a while but all they were concern about what the near future held for those girls and the world. While worlds away during another time, a young woman starts to wake to a world not her own.
