Pulkovo Airport

As the Taxi pulled into the Airport Abbey was drawn out of her thoughts by Gibbs speaking to the driver.

"You don't need to go to the entrance. Right here is fine." He said pointing to an empty shuttle stop.

The driver nodded his head. While he was distracted by Gibbs speaking to him, Abbey reached up between the driver's seat and his door. She stuck her hand into a small compartment on the door and extracted a few bills, quickly bringing them back into her lap.

Gibbs noticed her action and turned. She glanced back and shrugged. She didn't feel good about stealing from him, but unless they wanted Viktor and the police after them they had to pay the driver somehow.

The taxi came to a stop by the shuttle area and she handed the driver the stolen bills while thanking him. Abbey and Gibbs quickly got out of the cab before the driver could notice the rouse and he sped away.

She turned to Gibbs and studied him. "Alright, what's your plan?"

He looked off into the distance towards the airfield. "Follow me."

She nodded and followed. Still unsteady on her feet from her injuries she struggled a bit to keep up, but Gibbs made sure not to lose her. Abbey was sure the pounding in her head was going to be permanent. She just hoped that the broken ribs she had hadn't done too much damage.

Keeping to the shadows they approached the airfield. She still couldn't figure out what his plan was, but she was hoping he wasn't going to try and steal a plane. There wasn't a fence around to keep them out of the restricted area. Apparently the airport didn't normally have the problem of people sneaking onto the tar mat.

Gibbs came to a halt and studied the few planes that were nearby. There weren't many people or planes to be seen as it must have been extremely late at night. In an alcove there were a couple of those drivable luggage carts and Gibbs headed to them with Abbey following. The first one he looked in was empty, but the second one he found a few bright orange vests. He handed on to her and put the other on himself.

"This way." He said, but Abbey grabbed his arm before he could move.

"Please tell me you aren't stealing a plane." She said watching for his reaction.

He chuckled a little. "No, wouldn't be able to fly one of these things." He turned and pointed to a large plane nearby. "If we open the emergency door near the back while it's grounded we shouldn't set off any alarms. The plane is big enough that it should be going overseas."

Abbey thought about his idea for a moment and figured that smuggling themselves on a plane with a qualified pilot was better than the alternatives. She nodded her head agreeing to the plan and Gibbs sat down in the driver's seat of the luggage cart.

"Hop in." He said and started looking for keys.

Abbey got in on the passenger's side as a set of keys fell from the visor over Gibbs' head. He jammed them into the ignition and the cart shuddered to life. Without seatbelts it was a pretty bumpy ride. Abbey clung to the frame of the vehicle as they pulled alongside of the large plane, making sure to leave enough distance that it could safely pull away. Abbey got out and went to stand between the cart and the plane.

Up close it was huge and she instantly saw a problem.

"Um, Gibbs." She said and he turned to face her. "How exactly do you plan to get to the door?" Looking up at the door in question it had to be at least twelve feet off the ground.

Instead of answering he turned back to the cart and rested his arms on the roof thinking. It had been a good plan so far. Abbey started scanning her surroundings. Gibbs had gotten them this far; it was her turn to help. There were very few workers on the tar mat; thankfully none of them had clocked them as suspicious. Her eyes landed on another plane a little ways away. She had an idea and it was going to have to work.

Abbey took off running towards the other plane. Her entire body screamed in protest, but she had to act fast. A worker was currently wheeling away one of those portable staircases that they use to reach the doors. Clutching her side she approached the worker who turned and studied her.

"I can take it." She said a little out of breath.

The worker who seemed disinterested in the first place simply shrugged and walked away. Surprised with her luck she started maneuvering it back towards Gibbs, holding onto it tight as it was probably the only thing keeping her standing. Gibbs' expression didn't give away how he felt about the idea, but as she approached he helped line it up to the emergency door.

It didn't reach. The stairs were only a couple of feet short, but it was going to be hard to reach the handle.

Abbey started to climb, but her legs gave out from under her as her head swam. Gibbs caught her from behind and righted her.

"Easy." He told her and began helping her up the stairs.

They reached the top and Gibbs was just tall enough to yank open the door. They scrambled up into the plane and he re-latched the door behind them. The inside was mostly deserted with a sprinkling of passengers more towards the front. Abbey and Gibbs crashed into a pair of seats and stuffed the stolen orange vests under them.

Their timing wasn't a moment too soon as a flight attendant appeared and instructed everyone to put on their seatbelts. A few minutes later they were in the air and Abbey relaxed a bit for the first time in months.

The intercom system crackled to life and the pilot spoke. "Next stop, Dulles International Airport."
