Present Day

Washington D.C.

Dulles International Airport

The plane had just landed and all of the tired passengers were waiting to disembark. In the hours it took to get from Russia to D.C. Abbey and Gibbs were able to figure out a plan that would hopefully get them out of the airport without getting detained at customs. They stood up and followed the rest of the passengers off the plane. Once they reached the line for customs Abbey glanced at Gibbs and he gave her a reassuring nod. She doubled over in pain moaning, and Gibbs caught her elbows trying to steady her. Two customs officers came rushing over to see what was happening.

"Ma'am, are you alright?" The female officer asked.

"I think her airsickness medication wore off too soon." Gibbs informed them. "We're going to want to get her to a bathroom."

"I'm afraid that's going to have to wait until after you clear customs, Sir." She informed them.

Abbey moaned again and swayed on her feet as if she was going to pass out. Gibbs held her up and glared at the officers.

"Get them to a bathroom Lacy." The other officer said to the female one. "And stay with them."

"Yes sir." She answered him and turned to Gibbs. "Right this way."

Gibbs held onto Abbey and steered her in the direction that the officer was going. They bypassed customs and entered into the regular part of the airport. She led them to a woman's restroom and stopped at the door.

"I'm afraid you're going to have to wait out here." She told Gibbs. "I can accompany her inside."

Gibbs nodded and left her to take over holding Abbey up. She led her into the bathroom which Abbey quickly scanned to see it was deserted. That was going to make her next move much easier. The officer opened a stall door for her, but before she could lead her inside Abbey roughly shoved the officers and lunged to grab her.

The officer flung her elbow back barely missing Abbey's head, but the dodge threw her off balance. She was shoved backwards and her side bashed into the corner of a sink. Abbey hissed in pain as her legs threatened to give out. The sink had hit right where Dimitri's earlier blows had landed. The office began to draw her gun, but Abbey swept her legs out from under her and she crashed to the floor.

Grabbing the officer she put her in a sleepers hold, but she fought back. She scratched at Abbey leaving a large gash on one of her arms. Quickly though, the officer fell into unconsciousness and Abbey muttered an apology as she stood up.

Cautiously she cracked open the door and slipped back out into the airport. Gibbs noticed that she reappeared and they started walking towards the exit. Abbey was holding her side and a small bloodstain was seeping through her sleeve.

"Are you alright?" Gibbs asked her worried.

Abbey nodded. "Yeah, I'm ok. Let's just get out of here."

They approached a set of automatic exit doors and they hissed open. A rush of air blew in as they left the airport. Forgetting about the time zone difference, Abbey was surprised to find it dark outside; just like when they left Russia.

Gibbs led her towards the long term parking garage and they took the stairs up a floor hoping it would help them not get caught. They set out tugging the handles of each car trying to find one that was unlocked so they didn't have to break a window. Luckily, when Abbey tried the handle on a dark blue SUV it opened.

"Gibbs, over here." She called to him.

She crouched down and went to work under the steering wheel. Popping the casing, her hands knew exactly what to do. The car roared to life and she stood up as Gibbs approached.

"Where did you learn how to do that?" He asked her with a smirk.

Abbey chuckled. "I can't reveal all my secrets Gibbs." She went to sit in the driver's seat, but he grabbed her arm stopping her.

"I'll drive." He said.

She shrugged and went to the passenger's side and sat down. She buckled her seatbelt as Gibbs pulled out of the parking space and to the exit.

"Where are we going?" She asked him. When they made the plan they never discussed where to go if they got this far.

"I have a friend who lives a little outside the city." He said as the car pulled out of that garage and into the night.

"Can we trust them?" We still don't know who burned us."

"Yeah, we can trust him." Gibbs reassured her. "He can take a look at you too." He said noticing the cut on her arm as she rolled up her sleeve.

Abbey was going to protest, but they hit a bump and she clutched her side. "Alright, as long as he isn't Russian." She joked, partially.

Gibbs smiled and kept driving.
