Chapter 12- Slayer Scrolls

Chapter 9-Chrissy – Wakie Wakie

Day 12

White Run Temple of Kynareth

Darkness was all Chrissy could see as she started to feel like she was waking from something. Warm radiated throughout her body. Voices could be heard…

"How is that this child lost her…" A female voice asks.

"She used her shield to behead a dragon." A male voice answers.

"That is incredible. But I still don't see how using her shield took her finger off?" The female voice remarks.

"We think she may have lost her grip on the shield, and it sliced it off." A familiar male voice informs them.

"I still cannot believe she took the head of a dragon off with a shield." The female voice says.

"How is she doing?" a female voice Chrissy recognized as Irlieth asks.

"She is healing amazingly fast even with our healing." The first female voice says.

"We gave her a health potion before she passed out." That same male voice inputs.

"If it's the potion you gave her that is healing her so fast. I want to know where she got it and who made it so we can order some here." The woman's voice remarks.

"How fast is she healing?" The male of voice of Thadmor asks.

"Her wound just happened 4 days ago but if you look at it. It appears to be weeks old not days." The female voice points out.

"Amazing." Another person said.

"Could it be because she is?" Thadmor goes to ask but stops.

"So, it's true she is a Dragonborn?" The first female demands to know.

"I still don't know about that, but I swear she pinned the dragon's tail into the ground with her sword than jumped on it. She took the shield in both hands and used it to behead the dragon. It was one of the bloodiest battles I have ever seen." Thadmor relayes.

"How is that possible?" The female voice demands.

"I do not know. Are you sure you are not holding anything back?" The female voice accused the other of.

"Well, when the dragon died a power did come out of it and went into her. Maybe." Thadmor tells her.

"None of the dragonborn legends speak of such healing. Still, she is different." The female remarks.

"Look she's coming around." Someone points out as Chrissy starts opening her eyes.

"What? Where?" Chrissy asks with a dry cough.

"Here drink this. It will help with the pain. You are in the Temple of Kynareth."

"Why?"

"When you passed out, I brought you to the healing temple." Thadmor states. "How are you feeling Chrissy?"

It was at that point her stomach made itself very loudly known.

"I think she is feeling hungry." The priest woman says with a smile.

"Yeah." Chrissy says with slight embarrassment. "So, I take it. It wasn't just a nightmare about us fighting a dragon?"

"It seems you did most of the fighting." Irlieth says.

"No way. It was you and your men who brought that thing down. I mean yeah, I got a few good shots off. So, I shoved my swords into his tail. I only did that because I remember someone once said that a down dragon is a dead dragon and I hoped that the sword would at least keep it down for little while. But the guard with the Hammer really gave that dragon one hell of a smack. I must have passed out after that. I really don't remember much." Chrissy points out.

"You don't remember climbing on top of the dragon and your shield to cut its off?" Irlieth asks.

"What me do something like that? Oh, hell no I am scared of heights." Chrissy tells them.

"You did. You lost your finger in doing it." Thadmor says as he points to her left hand.

"No.. I couldn't have…." Chrissy says as she looks at her left hand and sees it was missing a finger and had been sewn closed where the finger had been. "Crap my finger… Oh man what hell…" Chrissy mutters as she stares at where her finger should be.

"So, you don't remember absorbing the dragons power? Then using a word of power." Thadmor interrupts her misgivings about her finger.

"No….. Wait word of power… That sounds familiar… is it something like…" Chrissy remarks than speaks. "Fos." Which knocks everyone in front of her on their ass. "Ooppps Sorry." Chrissy comments to what she did.

"I think you might want to hold off on doing that again." Irlieth says as she picks herself off the floor.

"It would seem you are Dragonborn." The priestess says as her and Thadmor get up off the floor.

"I am don't know… Crap… How long have I been out?" Chrissy demands remembering the note she had been given.

"About almost 3 days. The battle end 4 days ago but you passed out just as we got back in the early morning. Why?" Thadmor asks.

"Shit how is the Jarl?" Chrissy demands.

"He is fine I just came from his side at his insistence on knowing how you are doing." Irlieth tells her.

"Listen when I spoke with the whiny snot nosed advisor dude he gave me a note." Chrissy starts to explain and finds that she in soft white cotton tunic. "Where's my stuff?"

"It's over there my dear." The priestess tells her as she points to Chrissy's gear in a corner not far from her.

"In the pocket on the left side of my backpack is a note he gave me I think you need to read it Irlieth." Chrissy tells her.

Irlieth retrieves the note and while she reads it anger crosses her face.

"Why didn't he tell me about this. To start I have double the guards." Irlieth says with a voice full of distrust.

"No. Don't. I think he wanted me to do it, so you didn't tip off the assassin. Then the assassin would just wait until you let your guard down." Chrissy points out.

"Then what?" Irlieth demands.

"I got a feeling I am going to be stuck here for a day or two." Chrissy says looking over at the Priestess who just nodded her head. "Why don't you and someone you trust investigate what the note says. Get me the ledger and we'll try and figure who it is, when they are going to do it and stop them." Chrissy says. "Man, I wish Borazon, with how he thinks like a detective, was here he could figure it out quick."

"Alright. I'll have someone get the ledger and bring it to you." Irlieth says.

"In the meantime, change the patrols of the guards and how often. You can add extra guards if you want but have them be in plain clothes." Chrissy suggests.

"Why would she want them in plain clothes?" Thadmor asks.

"Easy to avoid someone you automatically realize is a guard. People are more relaxed around regular normal looking people. Hell, you could have some dress up as servants and pretend to be servants. The law enforcement where I came from do it all the time. In fact, the undercovers have guidelines they follow like first and foremost they are eyes and ears and only if they have no other choice, they won't interfere. You could have a set the number of guards that are undercovers only. If you do that it would be best to keep their identities secret.

"What else did your law enforcement do?

"They had informants they would pay for information about possible bigger crimes that they could know about. Say for example you have a pickpocket you pretend to arrest or roust but he or she gives you information on a bigger crime like what we are trying to stop or maybe information on a drug trade. They also had people who specialized in talking to people who are victims of crimes. But you might want to wait on that. When you change the schedule let everyone know that it wasn't your choice say it's on the war or make some excuse other than you know about the assassin."

"Those are good ideas I will speak to my guards about them. The Jarl wants to speak with you when you are up to it."

"He is here." Thadmor quietly says as he sees the jarl along with a bunch of other people walking in following him.

"Damn doesn't that man know to stay where it is safe. Let's keep this note between us for now." Irlieth quietly tells everyone who all nod in agreement as she watches the Jarl and several people walk over to them.

"Ahh. She is awake." Jarl Balgrouf says as he walks up to the bed Chrissy was in.

"Yes, my jarl." Chrissy answers with a scratchy throat and is given another cup of water.

"I understand that you did quite a spectacle at the watchtower. I want to hear from you what happened." Jarl Balgrouf says.

"Your people awesome fighting that dragon. I did get a few good shots but that." Chrissy says as she praises the others.

"Yes, I knew I could count on Irlieth and my guards to do good but you on the other hand I understand did something that hasn't been done in a very long time. Tell me about it." The jarl requires.

"With the great aid of your people we killed a dragon." Chrissy tells him.

"You took its head off with a shield." The guard next to him said as he points at Chrissy.

"I guess I really don't remember after that guard hit it in the face with the war hammer."

"I was told you absorbed the dragon's power. And the Greybeards have summoned you." Jarl Balgruuf says.

"The Greybeards? Never heard of them who are they?" Chrissy inquires.

"Masters of the Way of the Voice. They live in seclusion high on the slopes of the Throat of the World." Balgruff answers.

"What do these Greybeards want with me?"

"The Dragonborn is said to be uniquely gifted in the Voice-the ability to focus your vital essence into a Thu'um, or Shout. If you really are Dragonborn, they can teach you how to use your gift." He explains.

"What does any of this Nord nonsense have to do with our friend here." Avennicci. says with a pit of scoff in his voice as he walks up next the jarl. "Capable as she may be, I don't see any signs of her being this, what, "Dragonborn"."

Chrissy raises up her left hand and curls all the fingers except the one she doesn't have and thinks. "You aren't even worthy of the one I got left. Just fuck off asshole. I don't trust you even if you are protecting the jarl. Or is there another reason?."

"Not worthy she beheaded a dragon with a shield!" Thadmor retorts.

"It might have been easier with a sword." Avennicci states at which Thadmor almost goes for the man's throat except Chrissy grabs his arm and holds him back. While Irlieth orders him with just a look to stand down at which he reluctantly does.

"Nord Nonsense?! Why you puffed-up ignorant … these are our sacred traditions that go back to the founding of the first empire!" Hrongar argues but is stopped by the jarl with a look of "Not now."

"Hrongar, lets try not to be so hard on Avennicci." The jarl says.

"I meant no disrespect, of course." Avennicci ignorantly replies.

"Yeah right." Chrissy thought.

"It's just that… what do these Greybeards want with her?" Avennicci says as he looks distastefully at her.

"That's for the Greybeards' business, not ours." The yarl informs him than turns Chrissy and loudly says. "You have done a great service for me and my city, Dragon born. By my right as Jarl, I name you Thane of Whiterun. It's the greatest honor that's within my power to grant." I assign you Lydia as a personal Housecarl, and this weapon from my armory to serve as your badge of office." He says as he places a brilliantly crafted war axe on her lap and a strong beautiful woman steps forward. "I'll also notify my guards of your new title. Wouldn't want them to think your part of the common rabble now would we. We are honored to have you as Thane of our City, Dragonborn. I envy you, you know. To climb the 7,000 steps again… I made the pilgrimage once, did you know that?"

"No sir I didn't." Chrissy says as gulps at the thought of climbing so high.

"High Hrothgar is a very peaceful place. Very… Disconnected from the troubles of this world. I wonder that the Greybeards even notice what's going on down here. They haven't seemed to care before. No Matter." He says as he takes her right hand in his.

"I don't know what to say. This is all so much."

"Go to High Hrothgar. Learn what the Greybeards can teach you." He tells her.

"I'll think on it." She answers.

"Back to business, Proventus. We still have a city to defend." He says as he releases her hand and walks with his advisor and brother in tow.

"He is a very caring jarl." Chrissy says as she thinks he reminds her of Master Splinter and her heart aches for her home and friends.

"Yes, he is." Irlieth confirms.

"I don't want to offend him or anyone else here but what is a thane?" Chrissy inquires as she pulls at the blanket covering her.

"The Jarl has recognized you as a person of great importance in the hold. A hero. The title of Thane is an honor, a gift for your service. Guards will know to look the other way if you tell them who you are." Lydia answers for her.

"Okay again not to offend but what is a house carl?" Chrissy asks her.

"A house carl is a bodyguard. To put it bluntly." Irlieth says as she stares at the door the jarl left through.

"He thinks I need a bodyguard?" Chrissy asks.

"Yes." Irlieth and Thadmor both say at the same time without hesitation.

"What you kill one little old dragon and people think I need a bodyguard." Chrissy huffs causing everyone to give a shy smile.

"Oh, stop be happy it's not a babysitter." Irlieth teases her.

"Isn't that what you are?" Chrissy snickers back.

"Sometimes I wonder. I want you to go and get what we were talking about earlier and I will have a look at it for myself." Irlieth tells Thadmor.

"Don't even think about cutting me out. I like him I don't want anything to happened to him." Chrissy tells her.

"I won't. But I think you should get some more rest." Irlieth remarks.

"I think that is a great idea after she has eaten first though." The priestess tells her.

"Can I eat and sleep in my own bed?" Chrissy asks with pleading eyes.

"You have a place here?" Thadmor asks.

"Yeah, actually I have two." Chrissy answers.

"Really where?" Thadmor inquires.

"The old place down by the blacksmiths and a place that was for sale outside of town."

"Those are expensive homes. How could you have?" Irlieith inputs.

"Law of Bounty." Chrissy answers honestly.

"The Bandits at Bleak Falls had that much loot?" Irlieiths asks.

"Not just them. There were some bandits in these towers. That Borazon, Samuel, Nelly the war goat and I dealt with." Chrissy tells them. "Borazon wanted a place so I figured that he can either buy or trade one from me later. I owe him and his grandson."

"Only family can own your places, but you can leave them to someone if you die." Irlieith informs her.

"Okay. Damn… But anyone I want can stay there, right?" Chrissy asks.

"Yes. In fact, you can hire this Borazon to run one or all of them for you. Or you can have Lydia do it. It is up to you to." Irlieith informs her with a pat to her good hand.

"Okay. Can I go stay at my place by the black smith?" Chrissy asks the Priestess.

"Eat. First then we will see." The priestess says as she removes the Axe from her lap and has someone place a food tray on there.

Chrissy digs into the meat and cheese she was given.

"Thadmor go now we will meet at Chrissy's home in few hours if the priestess allows it." Irlieith commands.

"Make for 8 in the morning. I want her to get a bath at the bath house before she goes home." The priestess tells them.

"Yes, Housecarl." Thadmor says as he places his helmet back on and leaves.

"I will see you later." Irlieith tells her as she follows Thadmor out.

"So, I guess it's just us. Hi I am Chrissy." Chrissy says to the Priestess and Lydia.

"Hello Chrissy, I am Danica Pure-Spring."

"I am Lydia your housecarl."

"Thank you, Danica, for taking care of me. Lydia, Wow I have never had a housecarl before." Chrissy manages to say between bites of food.

Which causes both women to give a small chuckle.

"This place is incredible." Chrissy remarks as she looks around at the building while she is eating.

"Ahhh yes, the White tree was planted as a seedling in the early years of White Run. Disciples of Kynareth could sense something holy in it and traveled far to hear the winds of the goddess in its branches. They built the temple. Of course, not as many pilgrims these days. " Danica says.

"Why haven't the pilgrims been coming? Chrissy asks.

"A big dead tree isn't very inspiring if you're coming to worship the divine of Wind and rains. Kynareth gives life, and we need a living tree to be her symbol."

"Is there any way to revive the tree? Lydia asks.

"I've thought about that…. Trees like this never really die. The only slumber. I think if we had some of the sap from the parent tree, we could wake up its child. But even if you could get the Eldergleam, you couldn't tap it. Not with any normal metal."

"What would work?" Chrissy inquires.

"If you want to help, you'll need something to cut into it first. You will have to deal with the HagRavens. I've heard about a weapon they have made for sacrificing Spriggins."

"HagRavens? Springgin?. And what is the weapon I am looking for?" Chrissy asks.

"It's called "Nettlebane." The hags terrify me, or I would have gone after it myself.

"Listen after I help Irlieith. I'll see what I can do. I mean how difficult can a couple of old hags be to convince to let us buy it or something."

"Your spirit is strong. Kynareth winds will guide your path. It's held in a HagRaven nest called orphan rock."

Chrissy makes short work of cleaning the tray off of all its food causing Danica to laugh and just shake her head at the young woman's big apatite.

"Can I go get a bath now?" Chrissy asks with her best puppy dog eyes.

"Lydia, I want you to help her." Danica orders.

"Yes ma'am." Lydia answers as she picks up all of Chrissy's gear then goes to help her out of the bed.

"I hope I can get private time." Chrissy tells Lydia as she accepts the help.

"I think that Mina would kick out the Jarl himself for the service that you have done." Lydia tells her.

"Listen I think that the whole group did a huge part in taking that dragon down. I know I couldn't have been able to do it on my own." Chrissy says. "Just because one person makes the winning goal doesn't make them any better than the rest of the team."

"Huh." Lydia asks as she helps her out the door that Danica holds open for them.

"Back where I am from, we had games where you had teams. Points were kept and which ever team had the most points by the end of the game won. And if a team wins by one point it isn't the person that made that one point that won it's the whole team." Chrissy tries to explain.

"I think I understand but you did more than score a point you took the head off of the Dragon." Lydia response as the are walking towards the bath house.

"She is right I was there. I'm proud to be your battle-brother, Dragonborn. Whiterun doesn't need to fear with you on our side." A guard says as he helps Lydia with Chrissy's gear so that Lydia can focus on helping Chrissy.

"You aren't going to win." Lydia tells her. "The whole cities sees you as a hero."

"I don't feel like one.." Chrissy mutters.

"Most real heroes don't." Lydia tells her than takes the gear from the guard just as they enter the bath house. "Thank you, guard."

"It is my honor to help." He says then leaves.

White Run Public Bath House

"I knew you would be back." Mina says as she runs up and helps Lydia with Chrissy.

"It wasn't the plan." Chrissy remarks.

"That is alright. But I take it you would like a private bath?" Mina says.

"If it doesn't put anyone.." Chrissy goes to say but stops as she sees a very large man escorting two half-dressed men out who didn't look too happy.

"Told you." Lydia smirks which causes Chrissy to give her a dirty look than smile.

"You are in luck they just finished." Mina tells her.

"No, we weren't." One of the men hisses which causes the large man holding them to pick him up even higher and shake. "I mean yes we were.. See you later."

"Andrean would you please see these nice men out the door and not through it this time." Mina tells the large man which causes him to smile and literally tosses the men out the door.

"See you next week." One of the men call out to which Mira just laughs "Maybe."

"Please tell me you didn't kick them out because of me?" Chrissy asks.

"Oh no those to keep trying to break the bath rules and this happens about every other week." Mina informs her.

"What bath rules? You never told me about any bath rules." Chrissy says as she goes to pull out some gold to pay for her and Lydia.

"Well, I didn't think you were that type until now." Mina says then looks over at Lydia.

"What? NO! I am not! She's my housecarl. I got hurt Danica told her to help me." Chrissy franticly says while holding up her injured hand. "I can bathe myself." Chrissy quickly says as it dawns on her that the two guys were trying to have sex in the bath house and is turning red at the thought.

"Oh, sweetie I know but I love how red you are." Mina giggles. "Anyways there are designated nights for that. they just were trying to do it before."

"Okay. I don't want to bathe here on those nights." Chrissy mutters.

"Some day you may." Mina smiles.

"Not likely. But I do want to get cleaned up now. I think I still have some of the cleaning supplies I bought last time I was here. Do you need any Lydia?" Chrissy says as she goes to check her gold.

"That won't be necessary housecarls are already paid for in advance. And you don't need to worry about paying anymore." Mina informs her as she pulls out a bag with Lydia's name on it.

"What? Why?" Chrissy asks.

"Because of what you did. I mean killing a Dragon and you being the Dragonborn. Just being able to say that the Dragonborn bathes here will up my clientele." Mina explains then says.. "Now go get cleaned and relax."

"Crap." Chrissy says.

"What?" Lydia asks worriedly.

"I got to go."

"Go where?"

"I need a privy."

"It's hidden behind the ivy on the wall at the bottom of the stairs. There is also a small wood stool in there you can use while in the shower." Mina informs her.

"Thanks." Chrissy says as she hurries down the stairs.

While Chrissy is inside the privy Lydia places the stool in the shower and gets Chrissy's cleaning bathing supplies out and places them on the rim of the shower for easy use. She then sees that the only other set of clothes that Chrissy has is a blue dress tunic, so she gets it out and hangs it on a hook hidden by some ivy.

"What do you use as a bath towel?" Lydia asks Chrissy.

"That goldish fabric." Chrissy answers from the privy.

Lydia gets it out and then places all of Chrissy's armor on hooks so they too can absorb the scented bath vapors. Once Lydia is done she undresses and waits for Chrissy.

"That was a relief." Chrissy says as she walks out of the privy. "I am surprised this is the only place with running water in sinks."

"It is specially designed." A very naked Lydia remarks.

"Oh my." Chrissy remarks at Lydia's nakedness as she turns around.

"Is there something wrong?" Lydia asks.

"No, it's just I am not used to seeing people naked." Chrissy answers.

"You don't have bathhouses where you are from?" Lydia asks.

"We have bathrooms in every house." Chrissy answers.

"Bathroom?"

"Yea it's like this but smaller." Chrissy answers as she jesters to the room. "They consist of either a bath and or shower, sink and a privy area all in a small room."

"Well, you need to shower, and I will help you." Lydia remarks as she walks over to Chrissy.

"I can bathe." Chrissy tells her.

"Don't be offended I have aided others who were wounded." Lydia informs her.

"Okay. I am not offended. I just haven't had anyone take care of me like that since I was little." Chrissy tells her as she walks to the shower area and disrobes. "My mom would when I was sick but after certain age well, I just took care of myself."

"I am sworn to carry your burdens." Lydia tells her as she helps her pull the tunic over her head then unties her bra but let's Chrissy remover her own panties. "Now sit there and hold your hand out we don't want the stitches to get to wet. I will take care of washing your hair. You can use your other hand to wash your body that way you don't feel uncomfortable." Lydia explains.

Chrissy does as Lydia said and sat on the stool. Standing next to Chrissy, Lydia pulls the chain to start the water. When she is satisfied that they are completely drench, she stops the water. Lydia stands behind a very nervous Chrissy and begins to apply the shampoo. Chrissy relaxes into Lydia's expert hands when she massaged in the shampoo. While Lydia was busy with Chrissy's hair Chrissy proceeded to wash her own body. When Chrissy has been completely soaped Lydia quickly soaps herself up.

"I am going to pull the chain again be sure to keep your hand out." Lydia tells her. Chrissy keeps her injured hand out as the water washes over them both.

When Lydia stops the water this time, she applies the conditioner to Chrissy first than herself.

"I am going to pull the chain again." Lydia warns to which Chrissy sticks her injured hand out and Lydia pulls the chain.

"Oh, that felt great. Thank you, Lydia." Chrissy tells her.

"I am glad to be of service. Keep that arm propped up on the ledge there." Lydia tells her as she helps her up and into the bath. "Relax here for a bit while I take care of a few things." To which Chrissy just nods as she lays back against the stone wall close to the fire with her injured hand up out of the water.

Lydia wraps up in a towel and heads up the stairs to Mina.

"Is something wrong Lydia?" Mina asks.

"Maybe. Chrissy purchased the old Breeze home, and it hasn't been cleaned in years I was hoping that Andean could go clean it up a bit. I could have her pay." Lydia tells Mina.

"It's already been taken care of. The jarl already took care of it with the help of several towns' folks. Some donated newer furniture to replace the old ones and cleaned the place up while others left food."

"That is great." Lydia tells her amazed at how the city had come together for the Dragonborn.

"She offers hope." Mina states.

"Yes, it seems she does." Lydia says as she heads back down the stairs.

Chrissy spent a little over an hour in the bath and got up more rejuvenated than when she entered.

"Oh man that is a stress reliever." Chrissy says as she dries off.

"That and much more. You look even better than before." Lydia tells her while examining Chrissy's injured hand.

"I got pampered. Everyone should be pampered every once in a while." Chrissy remarks as she puts on her panties but struggles with her bra. "Oh, hell this is a pain."

"Here let me." Lydia says as she helps her.

"Never realized how much I use my middle finger for." Chrissy gripes as she stands and lets Lydia help her.

"Don't worry you will get used to it and it will not be a problem." Lydia remarks.

"Yeah, I know I am not the first to lose a finger and won't be the last."

"This is true. I am surprised you are handling it so well."

"Not much I can do about it. It was my own stupid action that caused it." Chrissy remarks.

"Stupid no action yes." Lydia says as she helps Chrissy put on her dress.

"Fine you win. I am hungry let's head to the house so I can eat." Chrissy says.

"You just ate."

"I know but I guess healing takes a lot out of you." Chrissy remarks as she puts on her boots and goes to put on her backpack put Lydia takes it from her and makes her put her now cleaned cloak on.

"I will carry this for now." Lydia remarks as she puts it on her own back.

"Can I at least carry my own weapons I feel naked without them."

"You may wear the sword, but it will be my honor to carry your shield."

"Fine be that way."

"I will." Lydia says as directs Chrissy up the stairs.

"You two look more alive now." Mina tells them.

"Your place is what did it. Thank you." Chrissy remarks.

"You still need to heal go get some rest." Mina tells them as they leave and she locks the door behind them.

"What time is it?" Chrissy asks as she notices that the sun wasn't even up.

"It's just before midnight." Lydia tells her as they head down the steps to the first square from the round square.

"That's good than I can eat and get at least 5 hours of sleep." Chrissy says with a yawn. "I still have lots of food in my pack we can share. I should warn you I haven't had a chance to clean the place."

"I am sure it will be fine." Lydia tells her while trying to hide a smile.

Breeze Home White Run

Chrissy was glad that it was so late as no one was up and she really wasn't in the mood to deal with people no matter the happy face she was putting on for Lydia. Chrissy was glad when they reached her place, and she kept thinking about the bed she had seen when she first looked at the place.

"Now remember what I said." Chrissy reminds Lydia as she opens the door and is totally surprised "OH MY…"

Chrissy is so surprised at the crackling fire in the fire pit and the clean house and new furniture she loses her ability to speak.

"If you call this dirty, I would like to know what you think is clean." Lydia teases as she walks in behind her.

"You did this." Chrissy accuses once she gets her voice back as she closes the door.

"No. I did not." Lydia replies.

"But you know who did."

"The people of Whiterun." Lydia answers.

"Why?"

"You saved them from a dragon. You are a legend living and that brings them hope." Lydia tells her.

"I am no such thing. I can't be I just want to go home…I miss my brother. I don't even know if he made it to our grandparents." Chrissy cries.

"You give hope, but you should have hope in yourself that you can and will do all of that and more. You killed a dragon there isn't anything you can't do." Lydia tells her.

"I am not the one giving hope you are." Chrissy tells her.

"Listen there is some food. Sit and eat. Then You get some rest, and we will deal with tomorrows problems tomorrow." Lydia tells her as she points to so cheese on the small table.

"That is a great idea." Chrissy says as she plops into the closest chair and grabs up a large piece of cheese that was sitting on the small table next to her.

Lydia just smiles at the young woman and goes into the kitchen area. Lidia fills up two large plates full of food, then walks out to find Chrissy had already finished the cheese and was eager for the food on the plate she gave her. They sat in quiet as they ate that was until Chrissy belched loudly.

"Excuse me."

Lydia just smiles then belches right back and they both laugh.

"As a friend of mine would say that is some good food." Chrissy laughs then says. "I hope they haven't replaced that bed I saw earlier." Chrissy remarks as she looks at the stairs. "I do wish they could put handrails on stairs though. Do your people have thing against handrails?"

"Not that I am aware of, and I have always wonder about that too." Lydia says as she follows Chrissy who was crawling up the stairs.

"Oh, wow look they even fixed up this room." Chrissy says as she points out the room off to the side at the top of the stairs which consist of a new bed and bedding.

"This will do just fine for me." Lydia tells her.

"Good idea cuss if you stayed with me in the big bed I might cut you." Chrissy warned causing Lydia to look at her strangely.

"My friend Borazon went to wake me, and I had a knife and almost cut his throat with it." Chrissy explains as she walks towards her room. "Good night."

"Good night my lady."

Chrissy was thrilled when she found that her room had new bedding and was clean. There was even a note on her bed for her.

We the people of Whiterun thank you.

Chrissy's eyes filled with tears at the beauty of the simple thank you. Chrissy lovingly place the note on the side dresser then put her cloak on her bed and climbs under the new bedding and her cloak.

"Human I am worried."

"Sexy! What's wrong!?"

"I could not contact you had been so deep in darkness."

"I was injured and was healing I am sorry I made you worry."

"You are better now?"

"Not quite I lost a finger. Someone is planning on killing the nice Jarl here and I need to help then it is you I'll be coming for. My friend."

"Is the jarl a good human?"

"Yes. He really cares about his people."

"Then help him I just wish I was there to protect you."

"I have another bodyguard.

"You keep this up you will need an army of them."

"Well, I have you and now I have Lydia. But how is it I can speak with you so much now?"

"Our link is getting stronger over the years you should know that."

"What are you talking about we just left Sunnydale about week or so ago."

"That has been years ago when we left."

"WHAT?! YEARS?! How?!" Chrissy mind screams.

"You do not remember?"

"No.. Remember what?"

"We have been on many other planets?"

"But how can that be I don't look older?"

"The false god Nirrti a goa'uld messed with your DNA and now you age slower."

"Why don't I remember?"

"I don't know."

"Why can't you come to me or at least meet me halfway?"

"…"

"Sexy are you alright?"

"I…. have broken down …..and need your help."

"What aren't you telling me?"

"It's best you see for yourself. Rest you are tired and so am I we have been apart for so long it is hard to hold."

"Sexy rest I will come for you I am promise."

"I know you will."

It only took a few minutes for her to fall into a deep peaceful sleep.

Day 13 morning

The persistent banging of metal on metal woke Chrissy.

"Mikie it is too early for that shit." Chrissy mutters

"I don't know who Mikie is, but I believe your guests will be arriving soon." Lydia says from the doorway.

"Crap that's right. I was dreaming a was back home with my friends. Mikie is the joker of the group. He loved to annoy his brothers by waking them up with stupid shit." Chrissy explains as she gets up. "Funny I kind of almost look like them." Chrissy remarks looking at her wounded hand.

"They lost a finger too?" Lydia asks as she brings in some food placing it on a round table not too far from the bed.

"Nah they were born that way but that doesn't stop them." Chrissy says and gets up and looks at the food. "You didn't have to bring this to me."

"I figured that if I brought food, I won't get a knife at my throat." Lydia tells her as she sees Chrissy sheathing the knife she pulled out from under her pillow.

"Yeah, well it's a habit I don't plan on breaking." Chrissy says as she walks over and grabs up some food. "Hey, how do we use a privy here I don't recall seeing one?"

"There are some buckets, or you can use the one downstairs next to the spare room." Lydia informs then insists. "But eat first."

Chrissy eats then heads downstairs to us the small privy off to the side of spare room that had a pocket style door that hid the room quite nicely. Chrissy was thankful that someone had stocked it with rags and a small bucket to dump the rags in when done. Then she found a small bason she could use to wash her hands then dump the used water down the privy hole. Chrissy figured that the used water left the city and fertilized a nearby area. She would have to make sure not to drink that water.

"Hey Lydia, do you know where the used water goes?"

"Yes. The system is designed to fertilize the farmlands to the west." Lydia tells her.

"Good to know. I wonder if I have enough time to sell some armor I still have left from the bandits?"

"How can you have any armor left?" Lydia asks.

"In my backpack." Chrissy says as she looks for her pack and finds it leaning against a wall.

"I am amazed at how much stuff you can carry in that." Lydia tells her as she sees Chrissy pulling out armor and other items.

"Hadvin thinks it's a blessing." Chrissy remarks.

"It must be as there are no spells or enchantments that can do what that is doing." Lydia says.

"Let's try and keep it between us." Chrissy tells her.

"That would be a good idea. Your guests shouldn't be arriving for about an hour so you can sell those at the blacksmiths." Lydia tells her.

"But I am going to change in my armor first." Chrissy tells her as she heads back upstairs and gets into her armor.

Chrissy was just coming down the stairs when Irlieth and Thadmor arrived.

"I guess going to the blacksmith will have to wait." Chrissy tells Lydia who just nods.

"Come in." Lydia says as she opens the door for them.

"Never invite anyone into your home." Chrissy instructs Lydia.

"Why?" All three ask.

"It helps to keep out vampires. Back where I came from vampires couldn't come in unless invited." Chrissy tells them.

"We don't have vampires here." Thadmor says.

"I got attacked by two and helped kill another when I first arrived." Chrissy tells them.

"That explains why they are reforming the Dusk Riders." Irlieith remarks as this new information added the new problems she had to deal with.

"You guys are here early, has something happened?" Chrissy asks.

"Yes, it seems there were two purchases of poison." Irlieith points out as she holds the ledger out.

"Crap and you investing both will leave you strapped thin." Chrissy interjects.

"Thadmor and I can easily go to the hall as we have loved ones there." Irlieith points out.

"Okay you two take the hall but don't go right away. Lydia and I will take the stables but will going shopping first and make well known I am looking for some good horses." Chrissy reasons.

"I suggest that we go to them at the same time." Irlieith suggests.

"Say about an hour and half. That will give Lydia and I time to set it up that we are just shopping for a long trip.

"Are you really planning on leaving?" Thadmor asks.

"Yes, I have some friends I have to find." Chrissy tells them. "But I am not leaving tell I know the Jarl is safe."

"That is good to know." Irlieth says and they leave.

"Lydia if you are not okay with anything I am going to do you just have to say the word." Chrissy tells her.

"You are making sure our Jarl is protected I am good with whatever needs to be done." Lydia tells her as she picks up most of the equipment, they are going to trade in.

"That's good to know. Do you see anything you like or can use in that pile?" Chrissy says as she puts on her pack.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. If you're going on this with me, I want you armed and protected. You can't do your job if your dead."

"That is true. Hhmmm… I take theses… This is a better sword than what I have but none of this armor will fit as it's all for men." Lydia says as she goes about picking out some stronger shin guards.

"Do you have a bow?"

"My broke a few days ago."

"Then we pick you up some armor and a bow."

"What about camping supplies?"

"No, I have never really needed them." Lydia tells her.

"Do have own anything else besides what you are wearing?"

"This is all I have ever needed."

"If you are going to travel with me you will need more."

"I cannot afford more."

"A dead bodyguard can't protect me, so I am going to get some stuff for you no arguments."

"Yes, ma'am."

"I don't think I will exchange all this at the black smith shop." Chrissy comments as she looks at all the stuff she has.

"Why?"

"Because people will wonder how I transported it all. I don't want people knowing about my bag."

"We can exchange some there and some at the Merchant. Pick the items that aren't' the best for the Merchant."

"Why?"

"That way you get an idea about what he will price things for." Lydia explains.

"That's a great idea." Chrissy says as she separates the items then puts a fair amount back in her pack. Once she was done, they gather up a couple larger sets of armor and the ore then left for the blacksmith shop.

Battle Maiden's White Run

"Cool Name." Chrissy remarks to the black's smith's store name.

"It is run by Adrianne Avenicci and her husband Ulfberth War-Bear. She is the daughter to the steward." Lydia explains.

"Avenicci as in Proventus?"

"Yes."

"He's the steward? Crap I better be nice." Chrissy hisses just as a blonde lady in an apron walk around the corner.

"Lydia good to see you." Adrianne says.

"Adrianne good to see you too my friend. This is my Thane Chrissy." Lydia says as she puts the armor, she was carrying on a work bench and points to the much smaller woman next to her.

"Hi." Chrissy says over the armload of equipment.

"Just put that on the bench too." Adrianne tells her."

"Thanks." Chrissy says as she dumps the stuff she was carrying on top of the equipment Lydia had already dumped.

"Well, what can I do for you ladies?"

"I would like to sell or trade these." Chrissy answers.

"Where did you get all this from?" Adrianne asks, looking at the armor.

"Law of bounty." Chrissy answers with a shrug.

"So, you're the little girl the guard are calling the Dragonborn."

"She is." Lydia affirms.

"My father said that you took the bandits out at BleakFalls. That place unnerves me."

"Yeah, it was fun there. But that wasn't the only Bandits I helped to take out." Chrissy sarcastically remarks.

"Really? Where?"

"Some towers down that are that way." Chrissy says as she points to the direction the towers were in.

"You killed them too?"

"I helped some friends deal with them. In fact, I have plans to meet up with them. I was wondering if you have some armor that would fit Lydia better maybe a good shield and a bow with arrows." Chrissy inquires.

"As long as you don't want imperial armor or weapons, I have a pretty good selection."

"Go ahead Lydia see what you like. Remember what I said." Chrissy tells her as she notices the woman was a bit hesitate to choose at first. Lydia then just nods her head and begins to look at the different weapons and armor.

After a few minutes Chrissy was tired of Lydia not looking at the best armor so she took matters into her own hands. "Adrianne what do you recommend for her?" Chrissy asks

"I have some scout armor that would fit her perfectly. It's light weight but almost as strong as iron. She can put it on and still wear the armor she has over it." Adrianne says as she shows it to Lydia who's eyes light up at the thought of wearing it.

"Great can I trade you some of this armor for it?"

"Sure, I'll trade you these pieces for it." Adrianne says as she picks out a few of the better pieces.

"What about boots and gauntlets?"

"I have some nice brawlers that will do great in hand to hand but won't get in the way when using a sword or bow. There are some matching boots to the scout armor that should fit her just inside the shop." Adrianne says.

"She'll take them. Lydia why don't you go get changed. Then we can hit the stables so I can look into some good horses for the trip." Chrissy loudly tells her.

"Yes ma'am." Lydia relies as she takes the items that Chrissy had traded for then head off to Breeze home to change.

"Bow and arrows?"

"I have some decent hunting bows, but all the rest are spoken for."

"I need about 48 arrows."

"I can do that. Anything else."

"Yeah, a good shield. Metal preferably." Chrissy says as she eyes the shields on the wall.

"Try this one." Adrianne says as she gets a similar one to Chrissy's second.

"That type is good at standing against arrows but not against heavy stuff." Chrissy says which causes Adrianne to raise an eyebrow at her comment.

"I got one at the first tower raid was great at stopping arrows but didn't due to well against a couple of war hatchets." Chrissy explains.

"Ahh. Try this one, it's made from orc metal. It's bit heavier but should stand up to the abuse better." Adrianne says as she hands her a diamond shaped shield.

"This should work. How much?"

"How about I just take what's left for it with a promise that you shop here again soon."

"I am not sure when I'll be back. But if I do I will. Oh, someone told me you buy ore. How about a backpack?"

"Yes, I buy ore, but it depends on the quality. Packs are at the general store."

"Damn okay."

"This fits great." Lydia tells them as she comes back fully armored.

"Looks good too." Chrissy says. "There is some ore under all the armor."

"Not bad. I'll take it for the shield." Adrianne says as she checks the ore out.

"Deal. Thank you so much. Come on Lydia I want to hit the General store before we go to the stables and look into a couple of horses." Chrissy says as she hands off the new equipment it's new owner.

"Yes ma'am." Lydia replies as Chrissy hands her a bow, arrows and new shield. "I should warn you that Belethor unnerves some of the women here."

"Really why?" Chrissy asks as they start to head up to the shop and Chrissy can clearly hear Adrianne say "Hope you have some strong soap you'll need it after dealing with him."

They make a quick stop back at Breeze home for the items they are going to trade at the general store. Chrissy paused at the door as they went to leave and looked around.

"What is it?" Lydia asks her.

"I don't know something feels off."

"Off how?"

"Not bad just off. I'll figure out later let's go." Chrissy says as she closes the door. While someone watches them through the partially open door of the child's room.

Less than twenty minutes later Chrissy is being pulled out of the store by Lydia to prevent her from strangling the man.

"At least we got everything you wanted before you almost tried to kill him." Lydia remarks.

"What a sleazy creep." Chrissy hisses. "Is that snail belly slime shit head that way with everyone?

"Yes." Lydia smiles at Chrissy's creative description.

"How the hell does he stay in business."

"He's one of the few places that buys and sells used items."

"Great that means we might have to do more dealings with him." Chrissy says with a shiver going down her spine.

"Why don't we go to Arcadia's and pick up a few health potions. Before we look into horses for the journey." Lydia suggests.

"Cool she might have some Jaffa beans." Chrissy smiles.

"Why do you want those?" Lydia asks as they enter the store.

"If you brew them, they make a wonderful drink to wake up with." Chrissy answers.

A short while later a very happy Chrissy leaves the shop and she and Lydia start to head for the main gate. Just before reaching the gate Chrissy stops at the bulletin board and picks up a few Wanted posters.

"Are you thinking about going after?" Lydia asks.

"Just in case we meet up with them. I am glad I picked up that map from the sleazy, it should help." Chrissy answers as they approach the main gate. "Morning Guard." Chrissy says happily to him which he just gives her a nod back.

"You don't have to be nice to everyone here." Lydia tells her.

"It's easy to be nice it makes things go better but I can be nasty if I need to be." Chrissy cooly says as they pass under the second drop gate.

When they arrive at the stables, they find the stable hand murdered and with a note as to the location of the assassin base. As they are reading the note Irlieth and Thadmor arrive.

"The poison was being used to kill rats." Thadmor informs them.

"You might want to read this." Chrissy says as she hands him and Irlieith the note.

"This is not good." Irlieth tells them. "Thadmor and I will remain here close to the jarl if you will seek this assassin out and deal with him."

"You got it. You up for it Lydia?"

"Of course!"

"One problem I don't know how to get to this Silent Moon Camp."

"I do." Lydia sneers.

"Good hunting." Irlieth says as her and Thadmor heads back to Dragon's Keep.

"Should we purchase a horse before we leave?" Chrissy asks, thinking it would get them there faster.

"No they would see that coming it is best we go in on foot." Lydia tells her with a haunted look as they leave the stable.

"Something you want to talk about?" Chrissy asks.

"I…I… was a slave before the jarl saved me. And that is where I was held most of the time." Lydia tells her.

"Well then I say let's go say Hello not so nicely." Chrissy growls with such venom it startles the horses next to her.

Silent Moon Camp

Evening Day 13

The trip to the camp was uneventful and they arrived in the early evening. Chrissy pulls out her bow and arrows but realizes she can't hold the three like she used to because she keeps dropping them. Chrissy reverts to only using one at a time. Lydia follows Chrissy creeping low and pulling out her new bow and arrows. As the two get closer Chrissy's good night vision allow her to make out 3 bandits close. While she can tell there is more from hearing the voices up higher. Chrissy points out the different bandit locations to Lydia.

"You take him out." Chrissy quietly tells her as she points to a lookout on a high overlook. "I got the female straight ahead. Let's do it on the count of three and try and take them out together."

Lydia nods her head in agreement and takes aim at her target.

"Ready… 1…. 2….3." Chrissy says as they fire at almost the exact same time.

Lydia's arrow sails true and up into the bandit's brain from under his chin. The bandit dies quietly and falls off the overlook. Chrissy's arrow hit's its mark through the throat and he dies quietly but Chrissy almost gives them away as the vibration of the bow's release send sheer pain through her injured hand and she has to bite down on her gauntlet to keep from screaming out in pain.

"Chrissy are you alright?" Lydia asks worriedly.

"FUCK! That hurts!. Yeah, I am just not used to the pain…Keep watch I need a minute." Chrissy hisses quietly through the pain while cradling her injured hand.

"Well, you better hurry it looks like they are going to find the one you shot." Lydia warns while she takes aim. Lydia waits for the bandit to find the body of the female bandit that Chrissy killed and was about to give out a warning when Lydia's arrow sails into his open mouth and halfway out the back of his skull.

"Damn remind me not to piss you off." Chrissy remarks at Lydia's aim.

"You get hurt you will piss me off." Lydia warns.

"Same goes for you. Okay that's the three I could see but I know there is more up there I can hear them." Chrissy tells her as she points to the top of a tall stone staircase. "Why the hell do the bad guys love heights here?

"They heard the Dragonborn is afraid of them." Lydia deadpan's.

"Doesn't matter if I am no one is going to hurt the Jarl if I got something to say about it." Chrissy tells her. "Let's strip these guys of what they have we can put it in my pack but let's make it fast. Watch your back there maybe more."

Lydia nods her head as she goes over to the first one, she took down. Lydia makes quick work of stripping the bandit of his leather armor, bow, arrows, short sword, knife and 100 gold coins. While Chrissy has a bit more problems as the female, she killed was only in some fur armor and she could not figure out how to remove it without touching the dead woman's boobs.

"Screw it." Chrissy says as she leaves the armor but takes a staff, knife and small bag of coins off her then moves on to the last one Lydia had shot. Removing the leather armor from him was much easier and she had it halfway off by the time Lydia arrived. While she was finishing up Lydia was placing her haul into Chrissy's pack as she was keeping an eye out.

"There is movement." Lydia warns as she saw light from the top of the stone staircase flicker.

Chrissy picks up her Bow and notches it.

"Hey what's taking so long?" A voice from the top calls out his answer comes in the form of an arrow to the face killing him. As his body falls down the stairs it makes quite a bit of noise.

"FUCK! Son of…" Chrissy cries out from the pain.

"What is going on!" Another voice calls out as a Large Bandit runs out wielding a war hammer.

"Phamond!" Lydia sneers in anger, drawing her new sword and taking up her shield, she runs up the stairs towards him bent on revenge.

"Crap!" Chrissy snaps as she grabs her bow and puts it away then takes up her own sword and shield and follows Lydia.

"Ahhh dear sweet little Lydia. Did you miss us." Phamond laughs.

"I won't now!" Lydia yells as she swipes at him with her sword. He blocks the hit with his hammer.

"Oh, but you did but I won't." Phamond says as he swings at her with the hammer.

The hammer connects with Lydia's shield, and she doesn't move as anger fills her.

"DIE!" Lydia calls out as she bashes him in the face with the shield then shoves her sword through his heart.

A shock Phamond falls to the ground in death.

"Lydia are you okay?"

"No but I will be."

"We should check inside."

"I'll remove his stuff. Go ahead."

"Only if, you are sure."

"Yeah, I am. And this is mine." Lydia says as she rips off an amulet of Talos on the neck of the body.

Chrissy goes inside and listens to see if there is anyone else, but she doesn't hear anyone. She still keeps her guard up as she rounds the area. She finds a makeshift inside archery range with targets that still have black arrows in them. There was also a stone bench with some books on smithing and poisons. Farther in she finds a smithing area that had some weapons at different stages of being made but of no use and no one else.

"Anything?" Lydia asks.

"No. Crap was this a dead end too?"

"We haven't gone to the sleep area and slave area yet." Lydia points out.

"Okay how do you want to do this?"

"It's in the door just down there. This late they are more than likely eating in the lower area. We go in with swords and take them down quietly. We leave one alive to ask questions too." Lydia says.

"Sounds good to me."

The two women creep down in the darkness to the door. Chrissy listens for any sound from inside but doesn't hear any. Lydia goes in first as she knows the layout. Both women quickly and quietly enter and close the door behind them. Once inside they move off to the left and hide behind some columns as Chrissy alerts Lydia to someone coming up the stairs on the opposite side of the room. The bandit walks between the two columns not even noticing the women there until it was to late. Lydia grabs him by the hair and pulls his head back as she slices his throat with her sword. A second bandit had seen Lydia's action and was about to stab her but ends up meeting Chrissy's shield in the face follow by her sword to his stomach. The bandit stumbles and falls yet still calls out a warning.

The women make short work of the two half-drunk Bandits, but they had been left no choice but to kill them.

"Crap… I think that was the last one." Chrissy says as she pulls her sword out of his gut.

"Then we loot the place and look for anything that may reveal where the guy is." Lydia says as she starts to remove items from the bandit she had just finished off. It took them lessen than hour to loot the first two rooms as they were halfway through looting the third Chrissy found a journal in a chest that also contain 3000 gold and various enchanted weapons. Chrissy reads the journal while Lydia tries to overload the pack with no luck no matter what she put in it.

"What does it say?"

"Only the rantings of mad man. He talks about tricking his employer and others, but he doesn't say how he trick them. So basically nothing. But just in case we should hurry back to the jarl." Chrissy says as she goes to head out the way they came.

"No, this way." Lydia tells her as she starts to climb a latter. "It's faster."

"I hate heights remember."

"Yeah, but you like the jarl."

"Damn it." Chrissy hisses as she follows Lydia up the latter without looking down.

"See not so bad." Lydia tells her as she helps her up.

"I closed my eyes."

"Well open them now." Lydia instructs her.

"Smart ass."

"Nope just smart."

"Where is the slave area you were talking about earlier?"

"Over here." Lydia says as she walks over to a wall lined 6 cages. Four cages held humans some women but mostly young girls and boys. The one cage held Kat folk that also consist of young females and young males. While the last one contained 3 beaten male lizard males who reminded Chrissy of giant walking alligators.

The people just stared at the women with hollow eyes. At seeing the horrid conditions the people were in Chrissy started cursing. "We killed those assholes too quickly. How do we free them?"

"I found the key." Lydia says as she starts unlocking the cages which only caused the people to press against the opposite side of them.

"It's okay you are free now. Chrissy says to the slaves, but they only seem to pull away and speak in a tongue Chrissy didn't know.

"The slavers are dead." Lydia says.

They just look at her in confusion.

"Are they really?" A weak voice from a corner asks.

Chrissy turns and raises her sword but lowers it as she sees that the voice came from a naked cat woman chained spread eagle on a wall. At one look Chrissy knew that the woman had been repeatedly raped. "Yes. They are all dead. Lydia keys." Chrissy says and Lydia tosses them to her, and Chrissy walks over to the woman and tries unlocking the chains, but the key is too big. "Where is the key?"

"Don't know."

Chrissy starts to pry the collar apart.

"You can't…How?" The woman says as Chrissy pops the collar open.

Chrissy then proceeds to do the same to the wrist links. The female cat woman collapses against Chrissy. "How long have you been up there?"

"Don't know." The woman answers.

"I don't think they understand what we are saying." Lydia says as she keeps trying to convince the people to come out of the cages.

"They are speaking Neenny." The woman answers then speaks to the other slaves in their own tongue. "We are free!"

"What are we to do?" Several asks.

"They are asking what they are to do?" The woman tells Chrissy.

"Crap.. We have to find out if they know anything about an assassination attempt that is going to happen on the Jarl of White Run."

The woman speaks.

"The man who is doing it wasn't part of this group of bandits he worked for someone who runs this camp." The woman informs them when she is done speaking with the other slaves.

"Who runs this camp?" Chrissy asks.

"They don't know." The cat woman answers after a few minutes of speaking with them.

"This is strange." Lydia comments.

"What is strange?" Chrissy asks as she helps the woman over to the rest of the slaves.

"When I was held here Phamond ran this place, but he shouldn't have even been here as he ran when the Jarl and his men freed us."

"Phamond brought us from Winter Helm three weeks ago."

"Where are you from?"

"We consist of merchants, refugees and others that were kidnapped from their homes."

"How did they get you past the guards?" Lydia asks.

"A few at a time."

"Hey, I am Chrissy this is Lydia and I hate to interrupt but we are getting off topic, but do you know where the assassin is now?" Chrissy asks.

"I am Olivia. He has already left for White Run. He plans on killing the Jarl during some feast that is to honor the supposed return of the Dragon Born." Olivia laughs at the thought of there actually being a dragon born.

"Fuck that's tonight."

A slave speaks quick and pulls at Chrissy. "What is she saying?"

"She says that the assassin has a bow that turns him invisible, and the arrows are poisonous." Olivia informs her.

"We have to go." Lydia says.

"Can you guys run?" Chrissy asks Olivia as a couple of the women give her some clothes to wear, they had collected from a trunk in the corner.

"If it means our freedom. We will fly." Olivia affirms.

"You are free, but we have to save the Jarl and I don't want to leave you here unprotected."

"I Tanhne of the MarshWater tribe. We will help carry those that cannot. If that is your wish." A very large lizard male says as he walks over to Chrissy and bows his head in honor to her.

"Damn you are big. Oh, sorry if you can that would be great." Chrissy says as she gapes up at him and swears, he's over 7 feet tall.

"We run." Lydia says.

Whiterun

The women and group of former slaves ran like the devil was chasing them over the hills and across small streams. Tanhne and his lizard men carried the children that could barely walk. Lydia and the former slaves were almost out of breath and needed a break when they finally made it to the stables.

"Go. We will meet you there." Lydia told Chrissy as she indicated she would stay with the slaves. Chrissy nods the continues running for the gate. She easily reaches the main gate but only to find it was locked.

"No one may enter." A guard says.

"I must."

"State your business."

"I am Thane Chrissy." She tells him.

"Oh Dragonborn. Here let me open this for you." The guard quickly opens the gate.

"My house Carl and a few others are coming." Chrissy informs him while slipping past him. Before he can even open the door fully or respond she is off and running. Chrissy is running so fast she doesn't recall even mounting the stairs three at a time to when she makes it to the top of Dragon's Keep. The guard sees who she is and lets her in without question. Once inside Chrissy hears Irlieth berating the jarl for his drinking at a local tavern.

"Good I am in time." Chrissy breathes as she walks up the stairs to the fire pit area and pretends to warm up.

Irlieth sees Chrissy and is about to go and speak to her, but Chrissy slowly shakes her head no. Then she glances around looking for the best place to fire a bow, that turns a person invisible, from. She immediately eliminates the main floor as it was too busy her eyes then turn up towards the upper balconies. She than looks over at the house carl with an expression saying "He is here now up there." Irlieth slightly nods her head in understanding while slowly raising her shield. Thadmor who was on the other side of the Jarl and saw the action between the two follows his housecarls lead and slowly brings his shield up to protect his Jarl. Chrissy makes her way under the balconies to mount the stairs to the war room. In the war room Chrissy makes her way to the closest balcony and looks down but sees nothing but she stops and listens. She is about to leave when she hears.

"What is that bitch doing here?" A quiet voice hisses from the other end when Lydia and the other former slaves enter. This causes Chrissy to smile evilly as she takes in a deep breath and shouts the word of power.

Everything and everyone on that balcony in front of Chrissy went flying back into the wall. But the assassin releases his arrow at the impact.

Chrissy eyes go wide as she watches in slow motion the arrow sail through the air and there was nothing, she could do to stop it. Irlieth and Thadmor on the other hand brought their shields up and stop the arrow before it could reach the jarl. Chrissy ran down the length of the balcony with sword drawn and her own shield she throws down at the assassin. The Assassin was just getting up from the force of the word of power when he looks up to see the last thing a shield flying directly at his face just before it connects killing him instantly.

"Did you get him?" Irlieth calls out while her shield covers the upper half of the jarl and Thadmor's covers the lower half.

"Split in two." Chrissy replies as she's in awe at her own aim as the shield had split his head in two.

"Huh?"

"Irlieth what is the meaning of this?" The jarl demands from behind the shields.

"Assassin." Irlieth hisses. "Chrissy is he dead?"

"Yes!" Chrissy answers as she walks over to the body. "Where is the arrow?"

"It's here." Thadmor says as he goes to pick it up.

"Don't touch it. It is lace with poison." Chrissy tells them as she starts to strip the body.

"Was he the only one." Irlieth calls up.

"As far as I know." Chrissy says.

"No!" Olivia cries out as she with her cat like reflexes snatches up the arrow and throws it at one of the servants who was in a shadowed corner with a small crossbow pointing at the Jarl. The poison arrow sailed down the shaft of the crossbow breaking the arrow, bolt and crossbow. Olivia was following the arrow but some of the other servants beat her to tackling the other assassin.

Chrissy had jumped up and pulled out her bow and notched an arrow to let it fly as soon as she had a target, but Olivia, Tanhne and the servants pinned the assassin.

"Get away from him. He took diene root!" Olivia called out when a white foam started to spray from his mouth causing the servants to drop him and back away quickly.

"Does anyone see any more?" Chrissy calls out.

After a while of checking. "Looks clear." Thadmor says.

"I want everyone checked! Call for the Priest to deal with the dead and the Diene Root." Irlieth orders.

Chrissy resumes looting the body.

"What are you doing?" Avenicci demands as he sees what Chrissy is doing.

"Simple I am looking to see if he has anything on him of interest." Chrissy says as she produces a journal from his pack.

"Let me see that." Avenicci orders.

"No." Chrissy firmly tells him not liking the look he was giving her and the book she found.

"As steward I order you to give it to me."

"I am a Thane and claim law of Bounty." Chrissy smirks.

"Fine. What are you going to do with it? I am sure it's no use to you." Avenicci says as he stalks forward determined to take the book.

"Read it than decide." Chrissy tells him as she watches him squirm as she raises her sword as a warning to back off.

It was at that moment that Irlieth and the jarl arrive.

"What is going on?" The jarl demands.

"I just let your steward know I claim law of bounty on this guy and his stuff considering he is the one who warned me to the plot against you." Chrissy tells him.

"Dragonborn, it seems I owe you, my life." The jarl says.

"No sir. Irlieth, Thadmor, Lydia, your servants and the former slaves did just as much if not more than me. Plus Avenicci did uncover this threat against you so it was a team effort." Chrissy tells him. "Having you as Jarl and Avenicci paying me 5000 gold he promised, along with the payment for the bounty on the bandits I just took down will be thanks enough for me."

"You offer her 5000 gold for her help?" The jarl asks in disbelief.

"Out of his own personal coffers." Chrissy smugly informs them.

"Well, your safety is priceless." Avenicci says as he watches Chrissy tapping the small journal she had found.

"Come let's celebrate the Dragonborn." The jarls tell them all as he pulls Avenicci toward the feast hall.

"I'll be there in a few my jarl I need to clean up my mess." Chrissy tells him as she finishes taking the assassin loot.

"Did he really offer 5000?" Thadmor asks as he helps her right a table.

"No. But something doesn't feel right about this, and I think he knows something." Chrissy says.

"Agreed. Irlieth remarks as she silently orders two guards to stay with the jarl and the do.

"Why do you say that?" Thadmor inquires.

"Because Chrissy sneakily got Avenicci to give up from his coffers and that greedy little… Wont have unless he felt it was the best way not to draw attention to himself." Irlieth remarks with a huge respectful smile on her face.

"Just the way he kept looking at this journal I found. And the fact that he was up here so quick and ready to kill. It feels like a set up." Chrissy tells them.

"You don't think?" Thadmor wonders.

"I agree with Chrissy it all seems too neat." Irlieth says as she watches the men leave. "What are you going to do with that." Irlieth asks as she looks at the journal Chrissy had started reading.

"Crap. I can't make sense of it." Chrissy remarks as she flips through the book.

"It looks like gibberish." Thadmor says as he looks over Chrissy shoulder at it.

"Most likely in code." Chrissy inputs.

"Then it's useless." Thadmor sneers.

"Maybe. Maybe not." Irlieth comments.

"What certain people don't know will cause them to do stupid stuff." Chrissy remarks as she sees the look on Irlieth's face and hands the book to her.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, you care about the jarl and he's a good man. I figure you will use it right. Now let's go eat, I am hungry. But what about this?" Chrissy asks after she pulls out her shield from the wall and dead body.

"Go eat I'll have some guards take care of it." Irlieth says as she motions for couple of people who were dressed as servants come and deal with the cleaning.

"Cool. Thanks, you are the best." Chrissy says as she heads down the stairs and notices that the said servants were wearing guards' boots and thinks. "They need more practice but it's a good start."

"What of the slaves we rescued?" Lydia asks when Chrissy came down.

"What? More slaves!" The jarl snarls.

"Yeah, we went to get info at the Silent Moon Camp and found more." Chrissy answers as she gestures to the group off to the side.

"Irlieth, have them cleaned, clothed then bring them back to celebrate."

"A few need the healer."

"Irlieth make sure it is done."

"Yes, my Jarl."

"What happened to the ones who did that?" The jarls commands gently

"Dead." Lydia answers coldly

"Good."

"Yeah, all's good. So, let's eat as we have a trip ahead of us tomorrow."

With the arrival of the Dragon Born the feast truly began; first by honoring those that passed in battle. Next song was sung about those who fought in the battle. Chrissy for the most part was beat red with embarrassment with the praises she was receiving. Much later in the evening just before sneaking home Chrissy was able to speak with Irlieth for a few minutes alone

"Irlieth I saw that you copied the law enforcement from my home." Chrissy remarks between bites.

"It didn't work as well as you said and how did you know?"

"The boots were a giveaway. Plus, I recognized some of the faces." Chrissy answered.

"I will have to see about."

"What about some of the former slaves."

"What about them?"

"They are new and were slaves…"

"I will speak with them in private."

"Cool. Good night."

"Sneaking off?"

"Yup."

"Why?"

Chrissy just points at a drunk Thadmor and Lydia

"Go and get some sleep."
