"You got a job?"
Tucker said this as he, Danny, and Sam sat together in the lunchroom.
"Yep," said Danny after he took a bite of his hotdog
"When did you get a job?" said Sam
"Four weeks ago."
"And this is the first we heard about it," said Tucker
"Look, guys, I wanted to tell you but I had to get used to working a job."
Danny wanted to give his friend the whole picture of what had been going on in his life. But a few words from Blitzo about telling anyone outside of the company would be bad for both parties.
"What exactly do you do at this job of yours?" said Sam
"A helping around the office, filing papers, and coffee runs," said Danny
"Anything exciting happens?" said Tucker
"Nope, nothing." Danny then thought back on what happened yesterday
Flashback
Danny, Millie, Moxxie, and Blitzo were running away from a crazed preacher with two lever-action shotguns in a forest.
"I'll kill all of you vile demons," said the preacher
"Will you shut up pedo," said Blitzo firing back with his flintlock
"You know we could've done the more quieter approach," said Moxxie dodging a buckshot
"This is nuts," said Danny
"Don't worry, I got this," said Millie.
Millie turned back and did an underhand throw with a sharp blade that hit square in the preacher's forehead, and he dropped dead.
"Ah good work," said Blitzo
"Thanks boss," said Millie
Flashback end
Nothing like killing a crazy pedophile preacher in the afternoon makes a person think, Danny thought to himself. Sam then asked.
"What is this job?" said Sam
"A start up company for helping people with their specific needs," said Danny
"Like a getting a girl number," said Tucker with a grin
"Not really. But can we talk about something else other than my job."
"Sure."
"Fine," said Sam
The rest of the day at school was normal for the trio. When school ended, the trio talked about going to the arcade before going home when Danny's pocket suddenly began to ring, and he pulled out a black and red smartphone with devil horns on the back of the phone. Tucker was amazed by the phone.
"Woah, where did you get a phone like that?" said Tucker
"From my boss," said Danny
"Ah cool, your boss gave you a free phone. Hey, you think I could work at this job of yours?"
"Sorry, no more hire, excuse me for a second."
Tucker and Sam couldn't hear who Danny was talking to, but they listened to an angry young woman's voice shouted on the other side of the conversation.
"Hurry the fuck up."
Danny hung up and told Tucker and Sam, "I gotta go work."
"But what about the arcade?" said Sam
"How about tomorrow? I gotta go." Danny who began to run off before Sam could respond
"Whelp there he goes," said Tucker
"How the heck was on the other end of the phone?" said Sam
"I don't know, but she sounded hot." Sam slapped Tucker on the back of the head "ouch, sorry."
"Ah whatever, let's go."
Sam and Tucker headed to the arcade with no idea what Danny's true job was, but they would soon learn.
