Two weeks later, at Casper High School, near the lockers, Sam and Tucker were talking. Usually, they talk about teen stuff like homework, hangout spots, and other classmates, but this time they were talking about Danny. The two were concerned and curious about Danny's job, which he had started two months ago.
"I mean, he never did tell us where he worked?" said Sam
"Maybe it's embarrassing?" said Tucker
"Or highly illegal."
"Okay, Sam, I wouldn't go that far."
"I'm just concerned about him, Tucker."
"That's because you have a big ol crush on him."
Sam punched him in the arm, and he rubbed the pain away as Danny approached them. However, he was wearing a light brown jacket with one patch of the Texas flag on the left side of the sleeve and a patch of a demon riding a rocket near the right collar of the jacket.
"Woah, cool jacket," said Tucker
"Thanks," said Danny
"Where did you get it?" said Sam
"My coworkers gave it to me when they went shopping."
"They?"
"They're married."
"So you're feeling any better, Danny," said Tucker
"I feel alright, Tucker." he smirked and tugged on his jacket
"Got work today?" said Sam
"Yep, hopefully not too long."
Then an idea popped into Sam's head that, hopefully, she would learn about what Danny had been up to with his job.
When the last bell rang, Danny began to head to work, noticing Tucker and Sam were secretly following him, much to Tucker's dismay.
"Sam, this is so wrong at so many levels."
"Quiet Tucker
"We're following him like he's going to some gang."
"We're doing this for Danny's sake, and what's going on with him lately?"
Tucker groaned as they continued to follow Danny around the town. Then suddenly, Danny got pulled into an alleyway, and his two friends saw Dash grinning from ear to ear, holding Danny's shirt collar.
"Okay, what is this about," said Danny in a flat tone
"This is payback for kicking me in the dick fenturd," said Dlash
"Like I said the last time, I don't have time for this a-hole."
Dash was confused for a moment. "When did your ball's final drop to call me an asshole?"
"Since I can do this."
Danny then headbutted Dash in the nose and let him go to clutch his nose.
"Now, the next time you try this again, you'll get something worse than a broken nose or bruised ego."
Danny walked out of the alley. Sam and Tucker quickly hid behind trash cans, and Danny didn't notice.
"I can't believe that Danny did that, Dash," said Sam.
"I know, and it was awesome," said Tucker
Dash walked out of the alleyway with anger in his eyes and blood still coming out of his nose. Then he saw Sam and Tucker.
"What the fuck are you two losers looking at?" said Dash
"Nothing, nothing," said Tucker
Dash groaned in pain and walked off. Then Sam realized.
"Dammit, we lost Danny," said Sam
"Oh, what a shame; hey, let's do something else," said Tucker
Sam grumbled, "Fine."
Later in the afternoon, Sam was in her bedroom, still concerned about Danny. So she pulled out her phone and made a call to Danny. It picked up, but someone was on the other line.
"Hello," It was an older teen girl's voice
"Um, who is this?"
"I'm the receptionist."
"The receptionist? Why do you have Danny's phone?"
"That dork left it behind; I'm sure he'll call you back."
Before Sam could say a word, the older teen hung up on her.
Bitch Sam thought
This was far from over for Sam; she'll get the answer she wanted even if she had to confront Danny about it.
