Sunshine Airport was bustling with all sorts of races as Dry Bowser and Toadette were riding together in a modified Boo Pipes vehicle that King Boo loaned them, the two racing against Wendy O' Koopa, who was riding in a modified Koopa King vehicle that she begged Bowser for permission.

"Get back here, you freeloaders!" Wendy exclaimed as she fired several cannonballs from the mouth of the Koopa King vehicle, causing the Boo Pipes to be sent spinning around as she rammed them into several wooden crates nearby. "Your cruddy old vehicle is nothing compared to this baby!"

"We'll just see about that." Dry Bowser remarked as he pulled out a yellow lightning bolt item from within his charcoal shell, using it just when Wendy was about to glide into the air, causing her to fall into the water.

"Was that really necessary?" Toadette innocently asked as she started up the Boo Pipes, which got up to speed quick due to its acceleration.

"Trust me, she'll be fine. Stuff like this always happens," Dry Bowser remarked as he smirked at Wendy, who shook her right fist angrily as she was tempted to give the skeletal reptile the finger.

"So? Are you interested or not?" Lemmy Koopa remarked as he was getting annoyed, trying to sell some tires to Petey Piranha.

"Hmm... I could, but I have to watch my diet. I may be a giant mutated plant, but I can't eat useless junk all the time, you know?" Petey sheepishly admitted in the voice of Tom Kenny doing a superhero impression, causing Lemmy to slap his forehead and groan in response.

Eventually Lemmy got tired of trying to talk the mutant piranha guy in buying his wares so the Koopaling left the Sunshine Airport and headed towards the nearby Dolphin Shoals to try out his luck, with it not working out either for the dolphins were causing splashes that made his tires wash away from him.

"Well Pat, it took a while but we finally made it!" SpongeBob SquarePants exclaimed while standing in the main terminal of the Sunshine Airport.

Patrick rubbed the back of his head. "Spongebob, how are we gonna get to that bustling music place?"

"Fret not for I have an idea." SpongeBob proclaimed as he went right up to the advice desk, pulling up his square pants. "Excuse me miss, can you show us how to get to the Electrodome?"

Later on the sponge and sea star found themselves dancing with the Koopas and Shy Guys at the Discostadium, with the Electro Dream lighting up with remixes of various music used for the Star Cap.

Sunshine Airport was undergoing rainy weather for a huge storm leaking from the adjacent Cloudtop Cruiser high above was causing the normally sun drenched terminal to get some soaking rain; which was to be expected of a tropical area for it was making the race harder than it normally was.

"Does this have to happen just as we're about to win?" A blue Inkling boy complained due to his kind not wanting to get soaked by water.

"You just tend to go along with it." The Animal Crossing boy villager pointed out with a smile on his face for he went spinning out of control from being hit by a winged Blue Shell ricocheting around the track.

"You mean like that?" Bowser Jr. responded with a laugh since he was riding in 1 of the realistic cars since he wanted to appear more mature in light of it not doing much wonders for him.
