"Since when did it snow in tropical places?" Wendy O' Koopa remarked; she noticed it was snowing at the airport terminal. "This is just unnecessarily random."
"I guess it must be one of the various legendary Pokemon using its powers to change the weather." Birdo stated, she was standing next to Wendy.
"What makes you think that?" Wendy asked for she turned her head to Birdo, folding her arms together after adjusting her pink bow.
Birdo shrugged, wrapping her arms around the back of her head. "Oh, it's just a hunch. I've seen plenty of snowed airport terminals, so it doesn't surprise me that it managed to find its way here. What I'm most curious about is-"
Toadette accidentally spun into the reptilian girls, knocking them into the water since the mushroom girl gasped, holding tightly to her steering wheel.
"Sorry! Some heavy oaf spun me off the racecourse again!" Toadette apologized to the dinosaur girls that popped their heads out of the water, with Toadette going back to the race track using a mushroom she pulled out of her pink mushroom cap.
Wendy and Birdo murmured as they glanced at each other, noticing that the water was unusually colder than usual, too.
Dry Bowser was going through the Gamecube Sherbet Land as he did some thinking while gliding in the air on his Bone Rattler vehicle.
"It's been a while since I've been to that terminal... why not I'll go and see how it is." Dry Bowser said to himself.
Eventually winning the frosty race, the skeletal reptile managed to pull out various supplies from within his spiky charcoal shell that he merged with the snow and ice particles of the Sherbet, combining them to make a warp that lead him to the Sunshine Airport, with Dry Bowser tucking away the portal as he decided to do a slow tour around the terminal so that the snow on him would melt without being much of a problem.

"This place sucks," Toad complained to his fellow generic racers while going around the Ice Outpost.
"Let's try something more sunny," The annoying red shelled Lakitu pointed out upon joining up on the adjoined yellow and green roads.
So they made their way to the Sunshine Airport, where they and the others had a much better time. Then they were promptly kicked out due to causing delays for various planes that would have headed to snowy locations.
Sunshine Airport was where the racers who were going through the Sky Garden ended up finding themselves in for a Lakitu accidentally opened up a warp portal when he meant to get the final lap signal which prompted the racers to start anew on the relatively related air themed track.
"You know what, I'm getting bored of driving around here," Daisy said while cruising in her Birthday girl vehicle at the Sweet Canyon, stretching her arms. "I'm gonna go somewhere more exciting!"
So the tomboy princess made her way through the Sunshine Airport while fueling herself and her kart with sweets, and it turned out it wasn't a good idea since she managed to become easily air sick of gliding through the terminal's race track.
Sunshine Airport had a lot of activity going on within it due to drivers racing from the Coconut Mall ending up within it via a vortex.
