Chapter:11 Heritage

Team RABG are currently in the city of Vale as it was currently the weekends and it is a good time to relax.

Currently, they are inside a bookstore called Tuckson's Book Trade.

"So anything you want to buy or rent?" The owner of the store said as he was behind the counter.

"Just some of these," Blue said as he has three books about Grimm Anatomy, Behavior, and Biomes.

"I want this," Green said as she has a drama novel in hand.

"I'll take this," Yellow said as she held a book about fishes.

The owner nods till he saw Red still looking, "How about your friend over there?"

The three members of Team RABG turn to their leader as he still checking on the books on a shelf.

"Hey Red, what's the hold up?" Green asked as Red snap out of his musing as he look to his team sheepishly.

"Sorry guys, I'm trying to find a book for my grandma," Red said as both Green and Yellow blinked.

"Grandma?" Both of them asked as Blue look at them.

"Really? Haven't you watched the news yet?" Blue said as Green look at him.

"What do you mean?" She asked as Blue sighs and pulled out his Scroll and showed her an article. "Just a few days ago, the White Fang strikes again. The current CEO of the KM, Opal Robinson, is currently in the hospital but is completely fine after the bombing during a charity event... What! Your grandmother is Opal! The Opal! The most well known fashion designer in the world! I didn't even see the resemblance. "

"Well, I got all of my features from my dad and my grandma decided to keep her surname instead of the family name. " He said as he keeps looking around but Green grabs him and made Red face her.

"Your grandmother is a massive fashion icon! Then you must got to have some-"

"Hold it women," Blue said as he grab his partner by her collar. "You are not making Red as a way to go to a clothes store and get a massive discount."

(Play Pokémon HGSS Ecruteak City Music)

As the two argues, Yellow approached her partner.

"So any siblings?" She asked.

"I have a twin sister, we don't look alike but we're still twins. I also have a younger sister that's just three years younger." Red said as he look back to the shelves.

"Hmm," Yellow hums as she then looks at the same shelf as Red till she saw something that caught her eye and points at it. "How about this one?"

Red look to where she was pointing and reads the title, "Exquisite Valean Culinary. Hey! My grandma likes to cook, this might be perfect. Oh, the author is even her favorite show host."

"What a coincidence," Yellow said as she look at the book.

"Yeah, too bad that he died during a drive-by in the middle of the street," Red said as he was a bit sad when he thought about it. "If he was alive, I might ask for his autograph and send it to my grandma."

"What do you think the reason about it?" Yellow asked as Red let out a sigh.

"I heard that he was a member of the White Fang till he quits and moved here in Vale to start a restaurant here. I guess that some heard of this and killed him," Red said as he then grab the book and looked at it sadly. "Then along came the riot."

Yellow felt the same and said, "We are a vengeful species, it is hard to look pass the present, but that's what we are."

"I just hope that this nonsense finally stops," Red said as he just let out another sigh.

"Maybe we should move on now. I heard that there's a café nearby," Yellow said, trying to lift up the mood. It workd and Red smiled a bit.

"Yeah, I'm buying this for grandma Opal first then we'll go," Red said as the two of them went to the counter while Blue and Green are still arguing.

(Play Pokémon XY Route 2 and 3 Music)

Later, Team RABG are now sitting by a café as three members are enjoying their drinks while reading their books. Red meanwhile looked around bored as he has the book he bought wrapped like a present.

"Any reason why you are bored?" Blue asked as he still kept his eyes on his book.

"I'm just waiting for something interesting to happen," Red said as he took a sip of his drink then putting it down. "Not like a fight or something but something we could do."

"You could just send that book to the mail," Green suggested as she look at Red.

"Yeah that's not gonna happen, something wrong will always happen if we ever leave him alone," Blue said.

"Come on, it's not that bad, it was an accident," Red said.

"That went very drastically."

Red grumbles as he just crossed his arms.

"Could you at least give Red a chance?" Yellow asked Blue as he closed his book and looked at her.

"I already gave him a lot of chances but he somehow make it worse," Blue said to her.

"Then I'll come with him," Yellow said as Blue look at her, waiting for her to continue. "Red is my partner and our leader. As his partner, it's my responsibility to watch over him. As our leader, it's our responsibility to help him."

Blue thought about it before he let out a sigh and said, "Fine. But if anything happens, Red cannot be by himself without the entire team. Period."

"At least show a little bit of faith on me," Red grumbles as he and Yellow stood up as the two quickly left but Red quickly grab the wrapped before they left.

Remaining in their seats, both Blue and Green watched the two walk away then to each other.

"Wanna bet how long Red would get in trouble?" She asked before taking a sip of her drink.

"I would say an half an hour before something wrongs happen."

"Okay, so why aren't you allowing Red to be alone?"

(End Music)

Both Red and Yellow are now walking through the streets as they pass by the citizens and fellow students that were having the same idea.

"So how far is the post office from here?" Red asked as he has the present in his hands.

"Just a few blocks from here, it's not that really hard to miss but it's get pretty crowded if there are tourists here," Yellow said as she looks around.

"So any reason that you know much about Vale City?" He asked as she thought about it.

"Well... like I said in our first team exercise, I don't like being stuck in the same place forever," Yellow said as she looks ahead with a look of annoyance. "It's gets pretty boring if you only see the exact same thing every single day. It wasn't until I was 8 that I was allowed to go out with a nanny of all things. Then they began to train me and they finally allowed to me go alone."

"You can't really blame them, the staff must've taken care of you since you were little," He said to her.

"But that's not a good reason to keep me in Beacon for so long," Yellow said. "I just want to see what's out there, see more of the world other than Beacon and Vale, I just want to see the beauty of it."

Red let out a chuckle as his partner look at him weirdly.

"What?"

"Nothing, it's just that I find it really cool," He said as Yellow felt a little embarrassed from the compliment.

"Thanks I guess."

"Don't feel sad about it," Red said as he patted her head which only escalated the blush on her face. "It's always nice to have a positive dream, not many people really don't think that way."

"Yours is not so different as mine," Yellow pointed out with a smile as Red just laughs it off.

"I guess so," Red said.

Then suddenly heard music as the two look to their left to see a music shop beside them as Yellow slightly recognized it.

"Hey, isn't that the thing you say when you try to control your Semblance?" Yellow asked as Red nervously looked away.

"Yeah... What a coincidence right," Red said as the two kept listening.

"Wait a minute..." Yellow then pieces it together. "Are you..."

"And let's go to the post office, the line might get even longer," Red quickly said as he grab his partner by her wrist and began to drag her away, much to her protest.

The two were now in the docks as Red sheepishly rub the back of his head while Yellow harmlessly punches him with a pout, which is very adorable for him.

"That was mean," Yellow said to him as she stops punching him.

"Sorry, sorry," He genuinely apologized.

"You didn't have to pull me because you were once a-"

"Please stop," Red pleaded to her. "I move out of that since I came to Beacon, I don't want anyone to know because they might try and control my life... Please?"

Yellow thought about it as she let out a sigh, knowing that it was a good enough reason for her not to pry her own partner and leader about it. "Fine, you can keep it to yourself till you are fine with it, but just don't be a harsh next time when someone tries to know it."

He nods till he noticed where they are.

"So... Where are we now?" He asked as the two looked around and Yellow felt a little annoyed by this.

"Next time, if I say stop, please stop."

Suddenly, they saw a Monkey Faunus running pass them, followed by Team RWBY. Red was about to give chase till Yellow grab his wrist to stop him.

"Blue said not to cause trouble," Yellow said to warn him.

"But-"

"No buts."

Red was about to protest till Yellow gave him the disappointed look and he relented, "Fine."

"Good."

"Hello there Ketchum."

(Play Pokémon Team Galactic Commanders Battle Music)

The two heard someone close by them while Red pales, Yellow looked behind him while the cap wearing leader slowly look behind him with a nervous look on his face.

They then saw a young woman standing there with her arms crossed.

She has short red hair and a pair of red eyes. She wears a white long-sleeved blouse with a black collar and black cuffs, a black skirt that reached her thighs, a pair of red stockings and black Mary Jane shoes. On the blouse is a red R emblem on the left of her chest.

"Hey Mars... It's a nice day we are having today right?" Red greeted nervously to the now named Mars but she stood there with a neutral look on her face.

"Indeed it has," Then an angry look appeared on Mars' face. "Until you showed your face here."

"Oh come on! I thought that we moved away from that."

"It's still fresh on my mind Ketchum, you're lucky that I don't have my gun with me."

"Umm," Yellow then gets between the two as they look at the little blonde girl. "Red, who is she?"

"Yellow this is-"

"Who is this? Your girlfriend?" Mars asked as the two blushed at the thought.

"He's-/She's-"

"You know what, I don't care," She cuts them off intentionally as she then offered her hand to Yellow. "Mars Omori, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"Okay..." Yellow said as she hesitantly accepts the hand and shook it. "Yellow, Yellow Caballero."

"A pleasure," Mars said as the two then let go and she glares back at Red. "Remember this Ketchum, try anything to my family again, you aren't getting the protection of your own home. Are. We. Clear?"

"C-Crystal," Red said nervously as Mars huffs and left. He let out a sigh of relief then saw his partner looking at him.

"What did you do to make her mad? And what did she meant by family?" Yellow said as she now wants to know what the hell just happened.

"W-Well..."

(Music End)

"Red did what to a mafia family?!"

It was almost night time as both Blue and Green are in their team's room. Green has a look of shock while Blue calmly read his book.

"Like I said, he destroyed the head of the gang's car filled with everything they bought in it," He simply said.

"How in the world did he manage that?! And you're telling me that he was ten when that happened?!"

"He went overboard with his Semblance during that time, not to mention the metal bat that he got for his birthday was one of the evidence used against him. Good thing that his parents were able to pay him out of juvie again or he might not be able to attend any Academy. He did get better though."

"How are you taking this lightly?!"

"Because I somehow got in trouble with him when I tried to stop him," Blue said in annoyance till they heard the door to their room open, both Red and Yellow then entered the room as the two went to their respective beds.

"Did Red get into trouble?" Green asked.

"Not exactly but a girl that Red knew talked to us," Yellow said as Blue look up when he heard what she said.

"Is this girl's name Mars?" He asked as Green look at him in surprise.

"Mars? From the Omori Family? You mean the family Red messed with is the baddest crime family in Mistral?" Green said as the three look at her in surprise.

"You know them?" Red asked.

"Yeah, I was there son's babysitter till I have to go here," Green said it so casually as the three continously blink at the news.

"Okay..." That was what Red could only say as all of them are now taken back from all of this.

Suddenly they heard running from outside their door. The four quickly snap out of their surprise as Yellow looked outside and saw Blake running across their room.

"Blake, wait! Come back!" The other three quickly joined Yellow as they saw Ruby by their team's door.

"So let me get this straight," Blue and his team are now in Team RWBY's room as he and Red sat on Yang's bed, Yellow on Blake's, and Green decided to lean on the wall. "When you were by the docks, you four chased a Monkey Faunus down the streets."

"Yep," Yang said.

"Till you went down into a alleyway and met a girl there that some how quickly becomes Ruby's friend."

"Correct."

"Then Blake and Weiss went to an entire argument if the White Fang is either a terrorist group or a misleaded peace party."

"Yes."

"Suddenly the two of them snap and Blake accidentally revealed herself to be a Faunus."

"Congratulations, you guessed everything right, yeah!" Yang said as she tries lift up the mood from the rather depressing room.

"You know that I'm right, Blake must be spying for the White Fang," Weiss said adamantly as Team RABG look at one another.

"Honestly, I don't have any problem with this," Red said.

"Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with it," Green said with the other two agreeing.

Weiss look at them in shock and asked, "So you guys are not that worried that the White Fang might actually spying on us, or worse. Getting assassinated."

"I'm not really convinced," Blue said.

"You can't be serious, the White Fang have been causing a lot of chaos lately and you just accept it like some kind of accident."

"We are not Schnee," Green said with a bit of animosity that made Weiss flinch. "We do think the White Fang is the problem, but thinking Blake is some kind of spy is ridiculous."

Weiss then look at Red, "Red, you're-"

"Don't even think of putting my family into this, I know that the White Fang did try to target my family on small occasions, but we never hold a grudge for too long," Red said to the heiress as she gawk at him.

Everyone looks at the heiress as she tries to make herself small from the look of disappointments she was getting.

"How can you forgive them so easily?" Weiss asked Red as he crossed his arms.

"I never forgave them, but I never hate them," He simply said to her. "Even if you're a victim, would you really blame a single person for an entire group? No, it's like some of our Faunus classmates blaming you for you father's actions."

"I'm not like my father!" Weiss yelled at him till he stood up.

"And Blake isn't the entire White Fang!" He yelled back as his Aura activated with his emotion. "If you are somehow kidnapped other than the White Fang, who would you blame then?"

Weiss was shock from the question as she doesn't know the answer for it.

"Who would you blame if you were somehow kidnapped again? Who would you take your anger on? Who will you lash out on if you ever experience it again!"

"Red!" He looked towards Yellow, the one who shouted at him, look at him in worry. "That's enough."

He then saw Weiss now looking down in contemplation and guilt. He let out a sigh as he quickly left with a worried Yellow running behind him.

(Play Pokémon HGSS Pallet Town Music)

Yellow lost track of Red in the empty hallways of Beacon till she finally saw him outside the building, looking at the broken moon in deep thought. Yellow quickly ran over there as she stood beside him.

"Red," She said to him as Red look at her with an obvious fake smile.

"Sorry about earlier," Red said to his partner.

"It's okay to be angry Red," She assured him as the two of them stand below the moonlight. "It's what made us different from everything, we could show our emotions and we learn from it."

"But sometimes we don't and we become something different," Red said as he could feel Yellow looking at him.

"I won't judge you Red, you can tell me," She said to him generously as Red smiled.

"If you let me see what's under your hat," Red said as Yellow was a little hesitant but she took a deep breathe to calm herself.

"Deal."

"Okay, where do I start?" He began to think of some old memories of his past.

"How about the reason why you are feeling like that?" Yellow suggested as Red smiled from it.

"Okay, I could say that it was my time in Sanctum. It was rough, too rough," Red said as he look at the broken moon, he then let out a sigh. "I was friends with Blue and Pyrrha since we were kids, but do you know what people thinks if they see three famous people hanging around with another? Gossip and rumors."

"What were they then?" She asked him.

"They are just annoying rumors but I was quite arrogant back then, short tempered too. I always start every fight and I'm not ashamed of it until today," Red then frown as he now remembered a part of his past. "Except for one fight, the guy had a Semblance that makes his attacks twice as strong and he thought that he could win against me, but I showed him how strong I really was in the sparring ring."

"But what happened?" She asked as was now more worried for him.

"I won of course, but my Semblance reached its limits and I went berserk," Red then let out a sigh as he sat down on the grass as Yellow sits down as well. "Before I know it, I pummeled him into a pulp, Blue and Pyrrha said that I was roaring like an animal when I brutally smash his face. Then I was almost put in juvie because of it if it wasn't for my family paying my bail. After that, I basically quit fighting and never resorted to violence ever again, so I went for a different career."

"A singer?" Yellow said as Red let out a chuckle.

"Yeah, my sister and I did a small gig till we became famous. We had to use our personal stage names and have multiple costumes when we joined up with a group of friends who sings for a hobby, we really needed that many costumes so we would not get hounded by the fans, but it didn't stop some of them to target my sister," He said as he began to feel angry, his brows furrows and a scowl appeared on his face. "A crazy fan kidnapped her after one of our concerts and it made me furious."

"So what changed? Why did you want to fight again?" She asked as Red lied down.

"When I saw my sister hiding from that creep, I beat him into a pulp and saved her. And at that point, I kinda found my reason to fight again. I now want to fight to protect my family," He answered as he gazed at the stars above. "To protect them from those types of people that would try and hurt them again, I would even pummel them till they are unrecognizable.

Yellow look at him in worry as Red laughs and sit up.

"Relax, there's no reason for me to even have those kinds of thoughts, but I'm still gonna go all out if something did happen to my family," Red assured his partner as she letbout a sigh of relief.

"Jeez, don't scare me like that."

"Sorry, I'm just joking around but you gonna have to let me look under that hat. A deal is a deal," Red said as Yellow was a little hesitant about it but she let out a sigh as she had to follow their deal.

"Just don't judge me ok," She said to him.

"I won't," He assured her as Yellow took a deep breathe.

She then remove her strawhat as Red was shocked from what was really under the hat.

It was a pair of long yellow ears with black tips on top of her head, but it was currently drooping since Yellow looked quite embarrassed about it. Red subconsciously moved his hand forward which made Yellow flinched, he pulled his hand away as she look in embarrassment till he reached out for her again and puts his hand on top of her head.

Yellow shivered in embarrassment from his touch but that was soon changed to joy as Red began to pat her head. Her long ears now pointing upwards and occasionally wiggle from time to time.

Red chuckles at this as he put back his hand and said, "I knew you looked better without it."

Yellow blushed from his compliment but she was glad that he didn't took her secrecy too much.

The then two continued to stay outside till Red noticed that Yellow was leaning on his chest and could hear her snore. He smiled at this as he carried her like a bride and walked to their dorm to sleep.

Yet a single thought is still in his mind.

Where could Blake be?

And yes I made Yellow a Faunus if some of you guys haven't guessed yet. I kinda got this inspiration from a cute fanart of the two so here we are.

And you could guess who Mars' family is if you know a certain mob boss in Pokémon.

Next chapter, I'll be showing you guys more of Yellow's other Faunus traits since you can guess what they are, but there's somethings that I only add.

I will also take suggestions to future stories that I might do if I had to put both VTR and Team RABG in hiatus. I'm kinda already making chapters ahead so I won't have to miss out on my schedule.

Speaking of stories, I still have that Fate x RWBY story in mind and I might think of others stories with RWBY being the main world. I really love how easy I could do RWBY stories when I have troubles with other series. There is no other world that I would use other than RWBY, it is just so difficult finding the transcript from other series.

I have a stressful life in my own home so I don't want to add more stress in my life by trying to remember every part by watching. I also won't read mangas since I'm not that type of guy to read manga even if I want to.

But enough of my ranting, I'll finish this chapter here and I'll see you guys in the next chapter.
