Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 2 of As the World Caves In. I want to thank those who have left reviews for this story. It truly does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying this story. I can't wait to show you guys how this series is going to go and how Loki and Everleigh are going to be in this story. They have quite a bit of a way to go to grow in this story. I know that there probably isn't much going on in this chapter. All it is just the trail of Loki and Everleigh. Will Morbius rescue Everleigh as well besides Loki? I can't wait to show you what will happen in this chapter. I hope that you guys enjoy this next part of the story. I'm excited to see what you all think. Without further ado Chapter 2. ENJOY!

Chapter 2

Everleigh winced hearing the gavel bang on a large oak table. Her eyes slowly went up to a woman that had banged the gavel. The noise reminded her of her time being locked away by Hydra and being tortured and experimented on. It reminded her of the pounding that was on the door to her room that was just as loud as the gavel banging on the wooden table. She swallowed the lump in her throat nervously. Her eyes flicked back and forth looking for any Hydra agents that would be nearby if there were any.

"Next case, please." The woman said firmly as she took the file from someone. She looked at it letting out a hum. "Laufeyson. Variant L1130, AKA Loki Laufeyson, is charged with sequence violation 7-20-89. How do you plead?"

Loki let out a chuckle looking up at the woman with narrowed green eyes. "Madam, a god doesn't plead. This has been a very enjoyable pantomime, but I'd like to go home now." He wasn't about to allow this woman to push him around. All he wanted to do was go home and restart what he had been doing, becoming a king and ruling over people.

The woman narrowed her eyes as she looked at the man. "Are you guilty or not guilty, sir?" She said becoming slightly impatient with how Loki was acting. She just wanted to continue on the next case and finish up her job for the day so she could have a few relaxing hours away from the bumbling idiots that ran the TVA.

Loki scoffed, crossing his arms not liking how this woman was talking to him. Did she not know who he was? "Guilty of being the God of Mischief? Yes. Guilty of finding all this incredibly tedious? Yes. Guilty of a crime against the Sacred Timeline? Absolutely not, you have the wrong person." Loki said knowing whom he was going to blame for what had happened.

"Oh, really? And who should we have?" The woman questioned rolling her eyes not liking the way that he was speaking to her. He probably had no clue that this was all his fault when he went awol on his timeline. And he dragged a young woman with him to go awol from the timeline. Thankfully no one would be able to go through the timeline without them since the timeline had been reset.

"I suspect, the Avengers." He said pointing to Everleigh who was behind him.

Everleigh narrowed her eyes looking at him. Of course, he would blame it on her and her friends. Couldn't the man just take the blame for what he had done? He must've thought that he was high and mighty and that he would be able to get away with what he had done, but she had a feeling that no one would be getting away without being reset and taken back to where their timeline division had happened.

"I came into possession of the Tesseract because they traveled through time, no doubt in a last-ditch effort to stave off my ascent to God King."

The woman leaned forward looking at Loki crossing her arms on the table. "That's quite an accusation."

"Oh, believe me, you can smell the cologne of two Tony Starks. Or the perfume of two Everleigh Vincins. You speak of Time Criminals? It's they you should be after. Perhaps you could provide me with a task force and resources, and I could return and eliminate them for you."

Everleigh's brow raised as she looked over at Loki out of the corner of her eyes. How did he know what perfume she wore? And how did he know that there were two Tonys and two hers? There was no way that it was possible to know that there were two of them in the same time frame. It was impossible to even fathom the idea of time travel.

"We're not here to talk about the Avengers." The woman said firmly as she eyed the God of Mischief.

"Oh, no?" Loki questioned looking up at her wondering what they could honestly be talking about, surely not him, and what he did to get away.

"No. What they did was supposed to happen. You escaping was not." The woman said firmly pointing the gavel at Loki.

Everleigh's lips quirked into a small smile. Of course, Loki wouldn't have known how the timeline was supposed to go. She was rather surprised that time travel was even part of a timeline to fix something that had happened.

Loki let out a nervous laugh. "Right. Uh… "Not supposed to happen"? According to whom? The Time-Keepers? Oh, the Time-Keepers. Right. Well, perhaps I should speak to these Time-Keepers, gods to gods."

"I'm sorry, but they're quite busy."

"Oh, they are? What are they doing?"

"Dictating the proper flow of time."

"I see. Right. And then what do you do?"

"Dictate the proper flow of time according to their dictations. How do you plead?"

"Guilty… of this." He said trying to use his magic to get out of there. He didn't want to be there any longer than he had to be. But his ability wasn't working the way that it normally did.

Everleigh's brow raised knowing that the collar around her neck and his dampened their magical abilities. How could he not know that his powers weren't there to get him out of there?

A man covered up his laughing.

"What's going on?" The woman questioned looking over at her minuteman.

"Hang on. Everyone quiet."

The man chuckled again. "He's trying to use his powers, ma'am."

"Don't rush me." Loki groaned in frustration. "Damn it! Why won't it work?"

"Magic powers? They're no good in the TVA, Mr. Laufeyson. The court finds you guilty, and I sentence you to be reset. Next case, please!"

""Reset"? What does that mean? What, is it wrong? What does it mean? Hey! You, ridiculous bureaucrats, will not dictate how my story ends!" Loki yelled, narrowing his eyes at the woman as minute men moved in on him.

The woman looked down at Loki, her brow twitching in agitation. "It's not your story, Mr. Laufeyson. It never was." The woman said firmly as she looked at them. She just wanted the two of them to be reset into their timeline and not stray off of the path.

"You have no idea what I'm capable of!" Loki yelled, narrowing his eyes and looking at the woman.

"I… I think I might." A man said, walking to where Loki and Everleigh were standing. "Have an idea of what he's capable of."

The woman let out a breath. "Approach the bench."

The man walked forward towards the bench. "Hi." He said softly.

"If you're thinking what I think you are, it's a bad idea."

"Okay, I'm just chasing a hunch." The man replied to the woman.

"Anything goes sideways, it's on you."

"Okay. I feel like I'm always looking up to you. I like it. It's appropriate." The man said with a smile. "If you don't mind me taking E1130 with us as well."

The woman's brow raised as she looked at the young woman that was behind Loki. "You want to take L1130's E1130 as well?" The woman let out a breath shaking her head.

"Yes, ma'am. All a hunch." The man replied knowing that she wasn't going to be happy if something bad happened. He could only hope that Everleigh and Loki would help him out when it came time to chase down a variant that had been causing a lot of trouble. He could only hope that maybe just maybe that his choice of help would be helpful enough to stop the variant from causing more trouble and people who have gone missing in other timelines.
