Chapter 2: Training
It was now the next morning, and all of The Loud Sisters had woken up to have some breakfast, "Alright everyone, since our first Duel Monsters training session is later this afternoon, we have plenty of time to kill. How about we hit the mall?" Leni suggested.
"Sounds good, but you make it sound like we're going to the training session," Lori replied.
"Yeah, we're NOT going to play things by Stinkcoln's book!" Lynn Jr. added.
"I would recommend we DO go to the training session. Remember all the conditions Lincoln put forth at the trial?" Lisa asked.
"He was just bluffing," Lola dismissed.
"Yeah, no way he would have ANY of us sent to the Facility, or to Boot Camp," Lana added.
"He sounded pretty serious to me, just like the judge," Lucy replied.
"This is a family matter, Lucy. No one, not even a judge in a court of law, has any right to butt in on something that doesn't concern them," Lori replied.
"Except when laws are broken, and we all had a hand in breaking several major ones," Lisa countered.
"Again, it's just another one of Stinkcoln's ploys to make us all look bad. Like there is a law against kicking out a minor," Lynn Jr. countered.
"But there is, and our parental units are paying for our selfishness," Lisa countered back.
"'OUR SELFISHNESS'?! What about Lincoln?!" Lola exclaimed.
"Yeah, that dork did a lot of stuff out of HIS own selfishness!" Luan added.
"His offenses are punishable, at most, with a slap on the wrist. Our deeds, on the other hand, are punishable by jail time, and possibly becoming social pariahs," Lisa countered.
"We'll become fish?!" Leni exclaimed.
"Not piranhas, PARIAHS. In other words, outcasts, undesirables, nobodies," Lisa clarified.
"Look Lisa, just because you were right about Lincoln's trap doesn't mean you're right about us being social outcasts. Lets just head to the mall, and put all this behind us," Lori replied, as they all finished their breakfasts, and proceeded to leave the building.
"Where are you all going?" Randy asked, as they were just about to leave
"We're going to the mall to do some serious shopping. Yesterday's circus left a bad taste in my mouth," Luna replied.
"Yeah, plus we have all kinds of events going on that we need to go to," Lola added.
'Man, will these girls ever be in for a rude awakening,' Randy thought to himself, "Alright, just make sure you're at the Rec Center for your Duel Monsters Lessons," he said.
"Yeah right, we're not going to play Drool Monsters, so we're not going to bother showing up," Lynn Jr. said.
"Yeah, that's not how it's going to work," Randy said.
"What do you mean?" Lori asked.
"The judge issued a court order for you girls to show up for your Duel Monsters lessons. You have to show up either on your own accord, or if several officers have to drag you there by force," Randy replied.
"We'll keep that in mind, but for now, we're focusing on what WE want to do," Lynn Jr. said, as they all made their way to the mall.
"Man, Rita and Lynn did a terrible job raising those girls," Randy commented.
(Play Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal: Halfway to Forever)
The intro starts with Lincoln putting on activating his Duel Disk, before he runs towards the scene.
Still together as one;
Cuz divided we're none;
Ready to go, we feel the flow!
The scene changed to Lincoln drawing a card and summoning his Elemental HEROS behind him, as Winged Kuriboh was right next to him.
So don't stand in our way;
You know we ain't afraid;
This is our time, we're in control!
The scene then changed and showed Noah summoning his Sword and Mio with her Moonblades, with their Ouroboros forms appearing behind them.
If I trip up today;
You just wipe it away;
All of my fears are gone, erased!
The scene then changed and showed Eunie holding her Ether Rifle and aiming it while Taion summoned his Mondo while they surrounded him, with their Ouroboros forms appearing behind them.
Let us tear down the walls
'Til the final night falls
The bonds of our souls can't be replaced!
The scene then changed and showed Lanz piercing his Shield Blade into the ground while Sena hit the ground with her giant hammer before the two fist bump each other, with their Ouroboros forms appearing behind them.
Let us fight together;
Regret it never;
Our dreams will be…!
The scene changed to Lincoln and his friends, including Riku and Manana, as Lincoln held up a card as it shined brightly with the Ouroboros Ring.
Halfway to,
Forever;
Our light comes shining through!
The shadow of Z appeared over the Loud Sisters as X and Y appeared and charged in, morphing into their Moebius forms.
Reach down deep;
Beat defeat;
Do all that we can do!
Lincoln then jumped in and summoned his monsters as his friends came and merged into their Ouroboros forms and charged in, before they and Moebius attacked each other.
Halfway to,
Forever;
We've got nothing to lose!
Noah then pulled out his sword from the core of his chest, as he slashed through the Moebius, before looking at the shadow of Z.
Keep breathing;
Believing;
Halfway to forever-rrrrrr!
Everyone then charged at Z, as Lincoln drew a card from his deck, as the Ouroboros Ring shined brightly once more, as the title then appeared below everyone.
Yu-Gi-Oh: Ouroboros
(End Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal: Halfway to Forever)
"Alright guys, let's meet in the food court in about... three hours," Lori said, as they broke off from each other when they arrived at the mall. Lori and Leni went into a clothes shop, where they saw their friends, "Becky, Dana, Whitney, Carol, hi there!" Lori greeted. But instead of a warm reception, their friends stormed past them, not even making eye contact with them.
"Uh, girls? Is something wrong?" Leni asked.
"You bet there is!" Carol snapped, causing both Loud Sisters to flinch.
"What were you two thinking, locking that little cutie of a brother of yours out?!" Dana yelled.
"Girls, please, there is a reasonable explanation for this," Lori replied, only to receive a slap from Becky.
"No, there isn't! Bad luck is NOT, in any way, shape or form, a reasonable excuse!" she said, enunciated each word.
"Girls, please, just let us explain!" Leni begged, tears in her eyes.
"Don't bother! Friendship, over!" Whitney harshly said, as they left the two Loud Sisters, shocked, and somewhat broken.
"Hey, you two!" the store manager said, storming over to them, "GET OUT OF MY SHOP! You're bad for business!" she said, kicking them out, "You're banned until further notice!" she said, as she went back inside. Things were going just as well for the other Loud Sisters. Lisa was just kicked out and banned from the electronics store, when she saw her friend, Darcy.
"Greetings, Darcy. What brings you out here?" Lisa greeted. Darcy looked rather uncomfortable around Lisa.
"Sorry Lisa, but Mommy, and Daddy, and Jenny told me I'm not allowed to be your friend anymore," Darcy said.
"Wait, what?!" Lisa couldn't believe what she was hearing. She broke off her friendship with Darcy because she just wanted to improve her report card grade, but the two reconciled, as Darcy harbored no hard feelings, but now Darcy was breaking off their friendship?!
"They said that you're a bad influence, and I could end up like you and your family if I keep hanging out with you," Darcy said.
"Darcy, come on! I told you not to be anywhere near the Loud Sisters!" Darcy's sister called out, dragging her away. Lisa wasn't one for emotions, as she felt them unnecessary, but right now she felt saddened and guilt stricken. She had once again lost her friend, and Lisa knew it was all her fault, and the fault of the rest of her family. Meanwhile, with Luna, she was about to enter the music store, only to be ushered away by the staff on duty.
"Sorry Luna, you're not allowed in here anymore," one of the staff members said, as he pushed her out of the store.
"C'mon dudes! I'm one of your best customers!" Luna begged.
"Yeah, and also a reason we're running the risk of shutting down! Many of your neighbors complained about the noise your music makes, and we were issued a warning. Plus, we heard about the trial your family was in, which is another reason you're being banned," the staff member said, as he went back to work.
"Aww, dang it!" Luna complained. Lola was facing similar problems, as she was trying to sign up for a beauty pageant, only for the receptionists to deny her an entry form.
"Sorry Lola, but you've been banned from all future pageants for your actions against your brother," the receptionist said.
"WHAT?! But it's just one mistake we made!" Lola argued desperately.
"It's more than just one mistake, Lola! We got a tip from many of your other, less than acceptable actions to your fellow pageant contestants. Based on that tip, and the fact of your trial yesterday, not only are you banned from all future pageants, but ALL of your previous wins are to be revoked, each tiara confiscated, and given to each runner up," the receptionist said, her tone sounding final. Lola walked away, head hanging low, only to run into her former fellow pageant competitors, led by Lindsey Sweetwater, all of whom looked rather smug, seeing the former pageant powerhouse barred from the very thing she's good at.
"Well now, how the mighty have fallen," Lindsey commented disapprovingly.
"If you have something to say, then say it!" Lola demanded.
"Always a demanding brat, huh Lola? I'm ashamed to have ever called you one of my rivals!" Lindsey spat, as they all walked away. Lynn Jr. was in for the worst wake up call of her life. She was heading into the sports store, where all of her sports coaches and some of her teammates were browsing the wares.
"Loud? What are you doing here?!" Lynn Jr's softball coach yelled, sounding non too happy to see her, but Lynn Jr. didn't notice the disdain in her voice.
"Hey there coach! Just getting some more equipment for the next game," Lynn Jr. said proudly.
"Who said Royal Woods is playing the next game?" the coach asked. Lynn Jr. was confused.
"Well, obviously, if the Squirrel's are going to win the championship, we HAVE to play a doubleheader to get back into the swing of things!" Lynn Jr. explained.
"You're missing the point Lynn! Royal Woods isn't playing the next game, because we're pulling OUT for the season so the team can be reformed!" the coach said.
"WHAT?!" Lynn Jr. exclaimed, unable to believe what she was hearing, "But if Royal Woods doesn't play, then how can we bring home a win?!" she demanded, clearly outraged.
"It's because of you!" the coach replied.
"ME?! But I'M the reason we've won every game! At least, until that no good jinx ruined the game against the Lions," Lynn Jr. said. Her coach simply shook her head.
"That's precisely WHY we're pulling out, Lynn. Your over-reliance on superstitions has caused many parents to chew not only ME out, but every other sports coach in school for the health problems their kids have been experiencing since you won't let them use the bathroom!" the coach said.
"Well, yeah! Using the bathroom before a game brings bad luck! That's basic information!" Lynn Jr. argued.
"No Lynn, that's what YOU believe in, just like you only believe in winning. In sports, the important thing is having fun, not winning or losing, but it's clear that the golden rule is one you've chosen to neglect all this time!" the coach yelled at her former star athlete.
"I'm looking out for the team's reputation!" Lynn Jr. argued.
"You mean your own reputation!" one of Lynn's teammates yelled, "You need to learn that there is no 'I' in team!" she said.
"Wilson here is right. And because you believe there is an 'I' in team, then there isn't a 'U' either! In other words, you're being cut, not only from the softball team, but EVERY sports team you're a part of! Each team will be reformed and start anew next season without you!" the coach said. Lynn Jr. really wasn't too happy about this. In fact, she looked more furious than ever.
"FINE! GO AHEAD AND LOSE ALL FUTURE SEASONS! YOU'LL SEE I WAS RIGHT! YOU'LL ALL SEE!" Lynn Jr. screamed, as she stormed out of the sports store, purposely knocking down a security guard, who immediately slapped handcuffs on her, "Hey, let me go, you jerk!" she demanded.
"Attention all units! Proceed to find and escort the Loud Sisters OUT of the mall!" the guard said, as she dragged Lynn Jr. to the exit. There, she undid the handcuffs, and pushed her out, "AND STAY OUT!" she said. Moments later, the rest of the Loud Sisters were thrown out too.
"This is literally unbelievable!" Lori complained.
"Not only were we banned from our favorite store, but we lost our friends too!" Leni cried, tearing up.
"I was banned from the pageant circuit!" Lola cried.
"Not only was I banned from Fanny's Prank Emporium, but all of the clients for birthday parties I was originally going to perform at withdrew their requests for me!" Luan added, clearly upset.
"And more importantly, my coaches had the gall to ban ME from all sports teams! ME! The greatest athlete in all of Royal Woods!" Lynn Jr. yelled, still angry at being cut.
"What do you mean 'more importantly'? It's because of YOUR softball game, that YOU lost, that we're now in this mess to begin with!" Luna argued.
"Well we wouldn't be in this mess if Stinkcoln didn't decide to jinx that game in the first place! All because he'd rather read those stupid comics than support his family!" Lynn Jr. argued back.
"Statistically speaking, it is understandable why Lincoln was willing to lie about being bad luck, seeing as how his schedule was mostly just coming to support the rest of us. He clearly just wanted some time to himself to recuperate," Lisa stated.
"Ok, first of all, he DIDN'T lie about being bad luck, because he IS bad luck! How do you explain what's happening to us?!" Lynn Jr. exclaimed.
"Simply put, karma is coming back to haunt us. We treated our brother unit as a curse, and treated him like an outcast, and now everyone knows what we did, and now WE'RE the ones being treated as outcasts," Lisa replied.
"That's ridiculous! We didn't do anything to warrant bad karma!" Lynn Jr. yelled.
"Oh sure, let's just forget about the fact that you threatened Lincoln to come to your game, turned right around, and blamed him for it, which is to say nothing of the fact that we also barred him from activities he would've liked to participate in, sealed up his room, and sold his personal possessions, forced him to sleep outside like an animal, and banished him from our house altogether," Lisa said, listing ALL of the offense the family did to the lone son.
"Lincoln would've gone to Lynn's game anyway, even if he persisted and she gave him time off. We're a family, meaning we HAVE to support each other, even if we don't like it," Lori stated in a matter-of-fact tone.
Just then, Ross pulled up in Vanzilla, which was sputtering loudly. "This scrap heap sounds like it's at its last miles. Anyhow girls, it's time for your Duel Monster's Lessons," Ross said.
"But we're not going to play," Lola stubbornly refused.
"You girls don't have a choice in the matter. This is a court ordered sentence. Besides, the agreement said that if any one of you girls shows up late, for even ONE of the training sessions or for the match against your brother, then you'll be shipped out, to either Rhonda's Boot Camp, or the Facility," Ross stated.
"If we're going to either of those places, then Lincoln has to go too! It's only fair," Lori said.
"Lincoln has already been punished enough by you guys and your parents. But we did give him a light punishment in light of the fact that he lied," Ross said, as he ushered his nieces into the Van.
"Like what? Writing sentences?" Lola asked rhetorically.
"Actually, yes. He was made to write 'I will not lie about being bad luck' enough times to fill 10 pages of paper," Ross replied.
"Why is everyone saying he lied?! HE IS BAD LUCK!" Lynn Jr. exclaimed.
"Junior, that's enough out of you! Your brother may have made things worse by lying, but none of this would've happened if you had just accepted the fact that you lost, and got on with your life, like a proper winner," Ross chastised.
"Except that winning for me is as natural as breathing! It's what I do!" Lynn Jr. argued, as they arrived at the Rec Center, where some of Lincoln's peer group, and Bobby were waiting. None of them seemed to be happy to see the sisters.
"Wait, so Lincoln's peers are going to be coaching us?" Lisa asked.
"Yes. Lincoln asked them specifically to do it. His friends are doing it because Lincoln promised them some rare cards," Ross replied, as they got out of the van.
"Bobby! I missed you!" Lori happily exclaimed, as she rushed over to her boyfriend, only for him to step out of her way. Lori then saw a look of pure disgust on his face, "Boo-boo bear?" Lori asked.
"Never call me that again, Lori. What were you guys thinking, kicking your brother out of the house?!" Bobby berated.
"I-I just didn't want him screwing anything up between us!" Lori said, shaken with how her boyfriend was berating her.
"And what makes you think I'M more important than your own family?!" Bobby yelled.
"Because you and Ronnie Anne are practically family already!" Lori countered.
"'Practically' doesn't mean 'officially'. And based on how you guys treated Lincoln, it's no wonder he lied about being bad luck, and pressed charges!" Ronnie Anne spat, equally disgusted.
"And that's another thing! Back during the Sister Fight Protocol regarding that dress, you guys never let Lincoln know about it ahead of time, but told ME about it! Why is that?!" Bobby yelled.
"I can answer that," Lisa replied, taking the stage, "Lincoln is known for making things worse, so we temporarily disown him to keep him out of our family squabbles," she explained.
"You can't 'temporarily disown' someone, Lisa. You either do disown them, or you don't, permanently," Clyde said. The rest of Lincoln's friends agreed with him, and started throwing insults towards the Loud Sisters.
"Alright, that's enough!" Ross said, breaking up the fight, "I understand that you kids are angry with Lincoln's sisters, and quite frankly, I don't blame you, but you need to focus on what you need to do with them now. The law will handle giving them a properly just punishment in due time," he said.
"You're right. Sorry about that," Clyde said.
"It's quite alright. Be sure to put the girls through the wringer. I'll be in in a minute, me and Randy are in charge of Supervising. I just need to park very quick." Ross said, as he got back into Vanzilla, and went to park it, only for it to break down, quite completely, as it fell to pieces before he got out of the parking lot, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" he yelled, before making a call.
"Alright, let's get this over with," Ronnie Anne said, as they entered the Rec Center. The Loud Sisters saw some strange machinery around the room. "Before we begin, we need to teach you all the basics." She said, as she handed each Loud Sister a rulebook.
"Ugh! Reading?!" Lynn Jr. complained as the rest of the sisters groaned in frustration.
"Complain all you want, the rules are actually very simple." Clyde said, as everyone started to read the manuals.
One hour later…
Everyone managed to get the basics of all the summoning methods and the types of cards there were.
Lynn Jr., on the other hand, was anything but impressed. The more read about Spell and Trap Cards, the more she became convinced that they were illegal to use. 'Those cards are just like steroids! They have to be against the rules!' she thought.
"So now that you've seen the various forms of Summoning, you can start building Decks and coming up with strategies," Girl Jordan said to the Loud Sisters.
"Why do we need strategies? We're up against Stinkcoln! He's an amateur and a jinx, and he is going to lose to us!" Lynn Jr. exclaimed.
"Don't be so quick to call him an amateur. He didn't become the Royal Woods Duel Monsters Champion for nothing. He's mastered every form of summoning, as well as various strategies that help keep him as one of the top ranked Duelists in the world," Rusty countered.
"Then that means the Royal Woods division has to be the weakest of all, especially if that jinx is the champion," Lynn Jr. stated.
"Y'know, it's that kind of self absorbed attitude that makes everyone in town favor Lincoln to win instead of any of you in terms of popularity," Ronnie Anne said.
"We're getting off track here! For now, we need to get the Loud Sisters their Duel Disks, and set them up with their E-Decks," Girl Jordan proclaimed, as two Nopon came in, the green Nopon with spiky brown hair who dressed in a black coat and a belt pushing a cart that had a total of nine Duel Disks on it. Behind him was an orange Nopon with long pink hair and wore a cooking outfit and a chef's hat.
"Are those Nopon?!" Lisa exclaimed in shock.
"What's the big deal, Lisa? Those are just probably robots or something." Lori rolled her eyes, while the two Nopon took offense.
"Riku refuse to let remark of Sister of Lincoln slide!" The Green Nopon said, clenching his wing-like ears.
"Got that right! Nopon are rare species world cannot live without! Protect at all cost!" The Orange Nopon added, just as upset, making the oldest sibling sweat nervously.
"Okay, okay, sorry!" Lori waved her arms defensively.
"Manana accept apology of Friend Lincoln's sister." The Orange Nopon said.
"Uh, why are they talking funny?" Lucy asked.
"It's how the Nopon speak. You get used to it." Ronnie Anne said.
"Loud Sisters need fine-tune each individual E-Decks of 40 to 60 cards with mix of Monster, Spell, and Trap Cards, as well as individual Extra Decks consisting no more than 15 cards. Louds have access to all types of cards, so build E-Decks strategically, and don't be afraid to strategize with one another. If proving too difficult to build a proper deck of own, then Louds can take survey, and AI program will build decks for you. Louds are free to take out and exchange cards with one another as they see fit," Riku explained, as each sister was given a Duel Disk.
"Maybe we ought to take that survey," Lana suggested.
"You might have a point," Lori said, trying to figure out how to activate the Duel Disk.
"What did they mean by 'E-Decks' and 'E-Cards'?" Luna asked.
"See, unlike us, you'll be using virtual cards and virtual decks. You'll still be able to face Lincoln, even if he doesn't use an E-Deck," Girl Jordan explained.
"Ok, now how exactly do we activate these things?" Lola asked.
"Just attach it to your arm. It'll turn on automatically," Clyde replied. The sisters all did so, as strange blade-like apparatus projected from them.
"Alright, for the first two or three days, you'll be facing each of us in one on one practice Duels. The main purpose is NOT to win, but rather, to understand all the E-Cards you have," Girl Jordan explained.
"Even if it's practice, I have to, nay, rather, I MUST win!" Lynn Jr. proclaimed.
"You see, Lynn? That's exactly what go you and your family into this mess in the first place! You're way too competitive, especially when you don't need to be!" Polly Pain snapped.
"When you're as awesome as I am, then you have to make sure your the best at everything, Polly. You'll learn someday," Lynn Jr. stated, unintentionally offending her former friend.
"In any case, we'll begin a few practice Duels immediately. The first match up will be Riku against Lynn," Rusty stated, as his brother stood up, and took his place.
"Hold on! I'm the oldest of the family, so I should go first!" Lori insisted.
"Tough. None of you get a say in how we do this. Lynn, take your place on the other side of the field," Bobby coldly stated. Lynn Jr. did so, and Lori was silenced. Never had she been yelled at by her now ex-boyfriend.
"Alright, you both will start off with 8000 Life Points apiece. First player to eliminate all of their opponent's LP will be declared the winner," Clyde explained, as both Duelists activated their Duel Disks, thus also activating the machinery around the room, and a holographic coin then appeared.
Lynn Loud Jr: LP 8000
Hand: 5
Riku: LP: 8000
Hand: 5
"Now for coin toss. Call it in air," Riku said, as the holographic coin was tossed into the air.
"It's gotta be heads!" Lynn Jr. exclaimed, only for the coin to land Tails side up, "Do over!" Lynn Jr. said.
"No. The coin toss landed in favor of Riku, so Riku will go first! Riku draw!" Riku said, drawing a card, "First move will be to activate Spell Card 'Chaos Distill'." Riku said, as a large, strange looking machine appeared behind him.
"What's that card?" Ross asked.
"Chaos Distill is card that removes all cards that would normally go to Riku's Graveyard from play," Riku explained.
"Hold on, why do that?" Lynn Jr. quizzed.
"Why? So that Riku can activate these three Spell cards, 'Steel Lamp', 'Bronze Scales', and 'Silver Key'! When these cards are played while Chaos Distill is on field, Riku is allowed to special summon from either hand or deck Alchemy Beasts Salamandra the Steel, Ouroboros the Bronze, and Moonface the Silver!" Riku said, as his three Spell cards were absorbed into the big machine, and replaced with a metallic dragon, a silver rock creature, and a bronze snake.
Alchemy Beast - Salamandra the Steel
Attribute: FIRE
Monster Type: Rock
Level: 3
ATK/DEF: 500/500
Alchemy Beast - Ouroboros the Bronze
Attribute: LIGHT
Monster Type: Rock
Level: 3
ATK/DEF: 500/500
Alchemy Beast - Moonface the Silver
Attribute: DARK
Monster Type: Rock
Level: 3
ATK/DEF: 500/500
"Three monsters at once?! That's got to be cheating!" Lynn Jr. exclaimed.
"If it were illegal move, Duel Disk would not have registered it," Riku said.
"Spells and Traps should be against the rules! They offer unfair advantages to the opposing Duelists!" Lynn Jr. exclaimed.
"Rules will never change just because Lynn Jr. doesn't like them. Speaking of rules, Riku will explain Alchemy Beasts Abilities; While Beasts can't be summoned through traditional sense, they are able to attack Lynn Jr's LP directly, even if Lynn Jr. has a monster on the field. Since Riku went first, Riku is forbidden to attack, so will end turn with face down," Riku said, placing a card face down.
Riku: Hand: 1
"I'll show you some rules! One of them being that I get a win, regardless of scores! I draw!" Lynn Jr. said, drawing her card.
Lynn Loud Jr: Hand: 6
"I summon Masaki, the Legendary Swordsman, in attack mode!" Lynn said, summoning a samurai to her side of the field.
Masaki the Legendary Swordsman
Attribute: EARTH
Monster Type: Warrior
Level: 4
ATK/DEF: 1100/1100
"Now my Samurai can now attack one of your Alchemy Beasts!" Lynn Jr. exclaimed, as her monster drew his sword, and charged at Salamandra.
"That's what Lynn Jr. thinks. Reveal Trap Card; Elemental Absorber! By banishing one monster in Riku's hand, Riku can stop any attacks from Lynn Jr's monster, so long as it's same attribute. Since Masaki is EARTH attributed monster, all Riku have to do is remove Acrobat Monkey from play, and Masaki, and ALL EARTH monsters Lynn Jr summon are now unable to advance on any of Riku's creatures," Riku explained, as a machine appeared, with one of the spikes on top of it glowing yellow. When it did this, a wall of mountains then appeared between Riku's monsters, and Lynn Jr's Samurai.
"Tsk, I have no more moves to make, so I'll have to end my turn," Lynn Jr. said, disappointed at not being able to attack.
Lynn Loud JR; Hand: 5
"Then it's Riku's turn! Riku draw!" Riku said, looking at his newly drawn card.
Riku: Hand: 1
"Riku now activates Card of Sanctity, which requires us both to draw until we each hold six cards," Riku said, as he and Lynn Jr. drew their cards.
Riku: Hand: 6
Lynn Loud Jr: Hand: 6
"Riku's next two Spell Cards are known as 'Mercury Hourglass' and 'Lead Compass', which allow Riku to summon Alchemy Beasts Ekanas the Mercury and Leon the Lead," Riku said, as he then summoned a metallic looking fish, and a lion.
Alchemy Beast – Ekanas the Mercury
Attribute: WATER
Monster Type: Rock
Level: 3
ATK/DEF: 500/500
Alchemy Beast – Leon the Lead
Attribute: EARTH
Monster Type: Rock
Level: 3
ATK/DEF: 500/500
"Riku will now attack LP directly with all five of Alchemy Beasts!" Riku said, as his three monsters waged their attack on Lynn Jr.
Lynn Loud Jr: LP: 8000 – 2500 = 5500 LP
"Riku will now place one face-down. That will do for Riku's turn," Riku said, ending his turn.
Riku: Hand: 3
"This doesn't bode well," Lisa observed.
"What do you mean?" Luna asked.
"That Card of Sanctity Spell allowed both of them to draw enough cards to have a total of six in each of their hands. If Lynn summons a Monster that has an attribute other than EARTH, Riku can and will most likely use the effect of his Trap Card to block that particular Attribute from attacking at all," Lisa explained.
"If that happens, then all attacks are basically impossible, right?" Luan asked.
"Correct, unless Lynn has a Monster in her deck that can stop the effects of Trap Cards," Lisa replied.
"There's only one Monster I know of that can stop Elemental Absorber, but I don't know if Lynn has it in her deck," Clyde said.
"What monster is that?" Leni asked.
"It's called 'Jinzo', and its special ability allows it to prevent trap cards from activating, and negates all their effects as well," Clyde explained.
"Friends are missing key detail about Trap." They turned to see Manana walking towards them.
"What do you mean, Manana?" Clyde asked.
"Absorber can only be used once, so using Trap already in play a second time is not possible." Manana explained.
"I see. So he would need to play a Second Elemental Absorber then to counter Lynn's next monster." Lisa realized.
"Correct." Manana smiled
"It's my move, and I draw!" Lynn Jr. said, drawing her card.
Lynn Loud JR; Hand: 7
"I summon Root Water in attack mode!" Lynn Jr. said, summoned a sea-serpent to her side of the field.
Root Water
Attribute: WATER
Monster Type: Fish
Level: 3
ATK/DEF: 900/800
"Now I attack with Root Water! And I think I'll take out that Bronze Snake of yours!" Lynn Jr. said, as her monster went on the attack.
"Not so fast! Riku activates second Elemental Absorber! By Banishing the WATER Attribute Legendary Fisherman from my hand, I can now stop the attacks of ALL WATER monsters," Riku said, as a second absorber appeared, with one of the spikes on top of it glowing blue, and a wall of water deflected Root Water's attack.
"Those Traps are getting on my nerves! Get rid of them!" Lynn Jr. demanded.
"Find an OFFICIAL rule that forbids Riku from using Trap Cards, and will gladly stop," Riku replied.
"Gah! Whatever, I end my turn!" Lynn Jr. said.
Lynn Loud Jr; Hand: 6
"Good. Now it's Riku's turn! Riku draw!" Riku said, drawing a card.
Riku: Hand: 4
"First up, all five of Riku's monsters attack your LP directly!" Riku said, as once again, his monsters attacked Lynn Jr. directly.
Lynn Loud Jr.: LP: 5500 – 2500 = 3000 LP
"Now for some fun! Riku overlay ALL Five Level 3 monsters, in order to build Overlay Network!" Riku said, as his monsters were turned into balls of light, and were sucked into what appeared to be a galaxy. "Riku XYZ Summon Shark Caesar!" Riku said, as a shark monster then took to the field, with five lights orbiting it.
Shark Caesar
Attribute: WATER
Monster Type: Fish
Rank: 3
ATK/DEF: 1800/2000
Overlay Units: 5
"But Riku's Alchemy Beasts could attack Lynn directly! Why summon that thing?" Lola asked.
"My guess is that he feels the need to show Lynn there's more than one way to Duel," Luan commented.
"Riku end turn by using one of Shark Caesar's Overlay Units to give it a Shark Counter! It's Lynn Jr's move, if Lynn Jr. can even make a proper one," Riku said, as one of the lights surrounding was absorbed into his Shark Monster, and a shark guppy appeared over his monster.
Shark Caesar
Overlay Units: 5 - 1 = 4
Shark Counter Count: 0 + 1 = 1
"What was that?" Lynn Jr. asked, sounding like she was losing her temper again.
"The way Lynn Jr. duels is sloppy and predictable as Lynn Jr's athletic prowess. Riku sees metal pipes that are more flexible than Lynn Jr. Lynn Jr. just relied on brute force and luck to win, instead of thinking strategically or using own skill. If this kind of amateurish Dueling is what Lynn Jr. planning to take to Championships, then Lynn Jr. Jr. may as well accept penalty for defeat. After all, what else but defeat could everyone expect from a fake winner like Lynn Jr.?" Riku said.
"Take... that... BACK!" Lynn Jr. screamed, really losing cool.
"Why? Afraid to face harsh reality of the world? Afraid to own up to Lynn Jr's own mistakes and admit Lynn Jr. was wrong? The way that Riku sees it, and everyone probably does by now, is that Lynn Jr. is unfit to call herself a winner because of Lynn Jr's selfishness! Lynn Jr. cares more about winning an empty, gold-plated trophy cup than own family, friends and teammates! Of course, Riku would be the same way Lynn Jr. is if Riku had won a bunch of fixed sports games," Riku said.
"What do you mean 'fixed games;?! I've won all my sporting events up until Stinkcoln ruined that Softball Game with his bad luck!" Lynn Jr. yelled.
"True, Lynn Jr. THINKS she won all those sports games, but how do Lynn Jr. know any of them were real wins? For all anyone knows, Lynn Jr's team could've paid off all opposing teams just to use the bathroom quicker, or opposing teams could've thrown games out of pity, given how poorly Lynn Jr. treats teammates," Riku said.
"What would you or anyone else know about how my sports games are played?! I won all those games because of my skills and luck!" Lynn Jr. yelled.
"Lynn Jr's 'victories' as Lynn Jr. calls them were all based on lies made by teammates to placate Lynn Jr's selfish desire to be number one, or are no doubt result of dumb luck, not good luck. After all, how can a third-rate wannabe athlete like Lynn Jr. actually win anything legitimately?" Riku spat.
This was the final blow to Lynn Jr's ego, that caused her to go ballistic, and charged at Riku.
"Junior, no! Don't do anything stupid!" Ross yelled, as he and Randy got up, and rushed down to restrain their niece, who held Riku by his head.
"I'LL SHOW YOU THIRD-RATE!" Lynn Jr. yelled, getting ready to throw a punch, when...
"Physical Assault Penalty: 50% Life Point Damage." A computerized voice said, as Lynn Jr's Duel Disk then sent out a powerful shock that caused her to drop Riku and stumble back a few feet.
Lynn Loud Jr.: LP 3000 / 2 = 1500 LP
"What... was that?" Lynn Jr. questioned, trying to shake off the numbness.
"It's one of many penalties that are administered during a Duel if Duelist tries to break certain rules. In this case, Lynn Jr. got hit with 'Physical Assault Penalty', which not only reduced Lynn Jr's LP by 50%, but Lynn Jr's turn is automatically skipped until after Riku's next End Phase. Of course, this time around is just warning. If Lynn Jr. attempts that again, then Duel Disk will administer an electric shock strong enough to render Lynn Jr. unconscious, and LP will automatically be dropped to 0," Riku explained.
"Is that true?" Lori asked.
"It is. All Duel Disks, even the Rental ones you guys are borrowing are equipped with a device that delivers an electric shock to keep things safe between Duelists," Girl Jordan replied.
"What's more, there are several other penalties, including Intrusion Penalty and the Out of Turn Penalty. The Intrusion Penalty only deals 2000 Points of Damage if you barge in on a Duel when you aren't Dueling, while the Out of Turn Penalty reduces your LP by half, and forces you to skip your next turn, if you try to make a move when it's not officially your turn," Clyde explained.
"Since Lynn Jr. lost this turn, Riku will make move! Riku draw!" Riku said, drawing a card.
Riku's Hand: 5
"Riku activates Shark Caesar's Special Ability, and removes one Overlay Unit to give it another Shark Counter," Riku said, as Shark Caesar absorbed another Overlay Unit, and another shark guppy appeared over it.
Shark Caesar
Overlay Units: 4 - 1 = 3
Shark Counter Count: 1 + 1 = 2
"And now, Riku's Shark Caesar will go on the offensive, and its special ability gives it an additional 1000 Attack Points for each Shark Counter that's on it," Riku said.
Shark Caesar
ATK: 1800 2000 = 3800
"With Attack Points that high, Lynn's Monsters don't have a chance!" Lana exclaimed.
"And it doesn't matter which Monster Riku attacks with, since the Attack Point Difference is just that much greater," Rusty said.
"Now, Riku attacks Root Water with Shark Caesar!" Riku said, as his monster attacked and destroyed Root Water.
Lynn Loud Jr.: LP: 1500 – 2900 = 0 LP
Winner: Riku
"Whoa, talk about one sided!" Lucy commented.
"I've heard Riku was a strong Duelist, but he didn't even lose a single LP," Zach said.
"No... how did I lose?!" Lynn Jr. yelled, pounding the floor.
"Do Lynn Jr. even need to ask such ridiculous question, especially when answer is so painfully obvious? Lynn Jr. just kept attacking repeatedly, with no strategy, no understanding of Riku's card, or even own. Lynn Jr. might as well swallow pride and publicly apologize to friend Lincoln for this whole mess LYNN JR. started," Riku said.
"I didn't start anything! Stinkcoln ruined my game with his bad luck and..." Lynn Jr. was cut off.
"'Bad Luck' this, 'Bad Luck' that! Lynn Jr's excuses are about as predictable as her athleticism. When is Lynn Jr. going to learn that it isn't luck that wins games, but rather skill and strategy? The way Riku could tell by Lynn Jr's predictably sloppy Dueling, Friend Lincoln and companions victory over Lynn Jr. and the rest of Loud sisters is assured!" Riku said.
"We could never lose to that twerp!" Lori exclaimed. The sisters in the stand also shared her sentiments.
"I'd rather give up sports forever than ever apologize or lose to Stinkcoln!" Lynn Jr. proclaimed.
"Hmm, is Lynn Jr. willing to make that wager?" Riku asked.
"What do you mean?" Lynn Jr. asked.
"It's not difficult question to answer. Is Lynn Jr. willing to stake future in sports in this tournament?" Riku asked.
"Ha! Seeing as how I won't lose to that jinx, I'll gladly bet on it!" Lynn Jr. proclaimed, making everyone gasp in shock.
"Whoa, things just got real now," Clyde commented.
"What do you mean?" Leni asked.
"He's saying that Lynn has placed her sporting hobby on the line, and if she loses, she has to give it up completely," Lisa explained.
"Loud Sisters are all free to join in little betting pool if they so choose," Riku said to the rest of the Loud Sisters.
"I think I'll sit this bet out. I like getting down and dirty too much to give it up," Lana commented.
"As I am not one to gamble, I too shall refrain from taking part in this bet," Lisa added.
"I would put my comedy on the line, but this seems a bit much," Luan commented.
"Same here. I don't think betting my music on a simple card game is worth it," Luna added.
"I'm not going to throw away anything to do with my beauty pageant career if we lose!" Lola screeched.
"If Lincoln is as good as everyone says he is, then I'll choose to remain in the darkness," Lucy added.
"I'm literally not giving up my future in golfing," Lori added.
"What would I be betting?" Leni asked.
"Most likely your love of fashion," Lisa replied.
"Eek! Then I'm out too!" Leni decided.
"What are you guys talking about? It's Stinkcoln we're up against! We can't possibly lose!" Lynn Jr. said.
"We're thinking ahead for either outcome, Lynn. We're playing it safe, rather than sorry," Lori said.
"But what's the point of playing it safe? You guys sound like we're actually going to lose!" Lynn Jr. yelled.
"Riku and Manana will inform Friend Lincoln of these developments. Lynn Jr. should consider apologizing while there's still time!" Riku said, as he and Manana started to leave. 'Friend Lincoln's sisters aren't ready, and if they play same way Lynn Jr. did, then Loud's will never be ready to take on even weakest of opponents,' Riku thought to himself, as both Nopon left the building.
"Pfft, why do I need to apologize? I'm the one who was wronged, not Stinkcoln!" Lynn Jr. said.
"Junior, all the evidence shows that you are the one in the wrong for starting this mess! Sure Lincoln shouldn't have lied about being bad luck, but that didn't give any of you the right to kick him out," Ross said.
"Except he DIDN'T lie! Stinkcoln IS bad luck!" Lynn Jr. yelled.
"And that's another thing; From now on, NONE of you is to call him 'Stinkcoln'. Anyone who calls him that will be grounded for a month after you get released from your sentences," Randy said.
"But that's not fair! That little twerp literally deserves every bit of what we have to dish out, and more!" Lori complained. The other sisters started proclaiming similar sentiments alongside the eldest sister.
"No, he doesn't! He already got FAR MORE than enough punishment from you girls, and your parents!" Randy yelled.
"And it's high time your girls felt what it's like to be on the receiving end having everyone turn against you for this whole 'bad luck' garbage!" Ross yelled. This got the Loud Sisters to all quiet down.
"Um, Officers?" Clyde cautiously said.
"Yes Clyde?" Ross asked, sounding a bit calmer talking to his nephew's best friend.
"Are we to continue with the girl's training? The others still need a chance to duel."
"Yeah, that sounds good," Ross said, as they continued with training.
Author's Note:
Was a little difficult with this one, due to how the Nopon speak.
