Chapter 4: Boxing with Dragons

"Welcome, one and all, to the Duel Monster World Championship!" the announcer said, as the audience erupted in cheer. "These next four days will be something truly spectacular, as Royal Woods has been chosen to host the Championship Tournament, featuring the strongest of the strongest Duelists from around the world, most of which from the City of Ouroboros! Now, introducing two very special quests, we have the Kevesi and Agnian Queens themselves, Queen Melia Antique and Queen Nia Huw!" Just then, the two said queens came out, waving at the cheering audience, before sitting down on two thrones.
For the Queen of Keves, Melia had long silver hair and wore a black and gray dress. The dress had ropes on its skirt along with a feather. It had metallic, black stars embedded across the dress, and she wore long, black gloves. She also had what appeared to resemble wings behind her.
As the Queen of Agnus, Nia wore long, hooded white robes with red accents resembling a kimono, with a large white bow on the back. Her dress was decorated with various golden accessories reminiscent of her Blade form. Her hair came down only to her shoulders. She had her long pointed ears which were attached to a white crown with golden accents and three light blue jewels coming down the front. Her crimson and aqua diamond Core Crystal was visible on her chest. Unlike most people, her eyes are distinctly more pointed.
"And now, let's introduce the duelists competing for the title!" the announcer bellowed, as smoke filled the arena stage.
"First up, though she is small, she has a great sense of combat and fights with her fists. She is a very brave person who is never intimidated by huge enemies and almost never loses. And while her cynicism and brutal honesty make it difficult for her to get along with others, she does genuinely care for her friends and family despite trying to act harshly towards them. Please welcome the Number 8 Duelist in the world, Ghondor Vandham!" the announcer said, as Ghondor came in and gave a few punches.
"Let's get this party started." Ghondor smirked, before dismissing her gauntlets.
"Next up is our Number 7 Duelist! In the past, he had to hide his identity to keep his family from knowing who he was, but now, here he is, having defeated one of his sisters in a completely one sided match, Royal Woods' ace Duelist, the Man with the Plan, Lincoln Loud!" the announcer said.
"Here we go!" Lincoln said, dashing out into the Duel Arena. The stadium erupted into cheers as the white haired lad made his way out. Looking out at the stands, Lincoln could see many familiar faces, some he was surprised to see, such as Flip, Mr. Grouse, Hank and Hawk, Ms. DiMartino, Ms. Johnson, Coach Pakowski, Hugh, and the Yates Family.
"Dang, never thought I would see the day you would be here without that stupid mask!" Ghondor smirked.
"Well, things change, Ghondor." Lincoln said, fist bumping with her.
"Number 6 on our countdown, though he can be reckless and frequently acts without thinking, he is remarkably supportive towards people he recognizes as being younger than himself. Ladies and Gentlemen, Lanz Bardoe!" the announcer declared, as Lanz ran in.
"Let's get stuck in!"
"And now, our Number 5 Duelist has a strong sense of responsibility to her friends above all else. She is easily swayed by her emotions, often causing her to act without thinking. Despite her headstrong and brash attitude, she is rather good at academics. Please give applause for Eunie Archer!" The announcer said, as Eunie then came out.
"Be ready guys, because I'm gonna rearrange your faces when I'm through with you." Eunie smirked.
"We will see about that, Eunie." Lincoln confidently replied.
"Up next, Number 4 in the race for first, enjoys training and has a cheerful and energetic personality, it's Sena LaChance!" Sena then ran out, with a cheerful attitude.
"I'm ready when you are!" She said, ready for action.
"Moving on, though she is gentle, her dueling gets serious if necessary, we have Mio Edwards, the Number 3 Duelist!" the announcer said, as Mio came out, as she looked at Queen Nia, who was smiling at her, before joining the rest of the duelists.
"Next up is our Number 2 Duelist, a tactician of surpassing skill who supports his allies. On one hand, he has a cheeky personality, but on the other, he is sometimes too cautious, getting easily annoyed and impatient when he does not understand something. Though quick to point out his strategic acumen, it is one of the few things about himself that he has any confidence in. Give it up for Taion Huband!" The announcer said, as Taion casually walked out.
"And now finally, our Number 1 Duelist in the world! While brave and willing to risk his Life Points for the sake of his friends, this duelist is fundamentally kindhearted and dislikes having to fight others unless he has no choice. However, his kindness still has its limits and he will show no mercy to those who commit especially grave personal offenses against him or his allies. Please welcome, Noah McEntire!"
The crowd burst into more applause than before, as Noah came out, with a smile on his face.
"This reminds me of the day where we all first met," Noah commented, his expression never once changing as he reached the group.
"Alright guys, may the best Duelist win!" Lincoln exclaimed as everyone else cheered.
"And now, let's introduce our other 8 Competitors. Having been found guilty of numerous acts of cruelty towards our Number 7 Duelist, a group of girls who have to hope that Luck is on their side one last time, we have Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lucy, Lana, Lola, and Lisa Loud!" the announcer said, as the sisters made their way in. The moment they walked in, everyone started booing them.
"I can't believe we aren't being greeted the same as Lincoln! If he gets a warm welcome, then we should too!" Lola complained.
"Easy there, Lola. Our objective in this match is not to turn public opinion of us around, it's to get further in the tournament, and win back a good chunk of our summer," Lisa replied, as they stood across from the Top 8.
"Too bad for you girls that Lynn decided to challenge me ahead of the scheduled time of our Duel. Now it's too late for her to apologize," Lincoln said.
"Lincoln, not only are we going to win this, but we intend to make certain that you're given just as harsh a punishment as we are!" Lori said.
"I'd like to see you try," Lincoln replied.
"And now, for the tournament to get underway, we'll now randomly select the match-ups for the Tournament!" the announcer declared, as 16 cards appeared on screen, 8 being blue, while 8 were red. "Due to a court order, each of the Loud Sisters will have to face one of the Top 8 in the first round, so let's see who duels who!" The cards on the screen began to shuffle with one other, in their respective colors of course. "And stop!" the announcer said, as the shuffling stopped, showing the match ups, with each one containing a blue and red card, before they began to flip over, revealing the competitor's faces.
"The first duel will be Lori VS Ghondor!"
"The second duel is Leni VS Taion!"
"The third duel is Lana VS Lincoln!"
"The fourth duel and final duel for Day 1 will be Luna VS Sena!"
"The start of Day 2 will begin our fifth duel, which is Lucy VS Noah!"
"Afterwards will be the sixth duel, Lola VS Mio!"
"The seventh duel will be Luan VS Eunie!"
"The Final duel for Day 2 and Round 1 will be Lisa VS Lanz!"
"Now, if all other Duelists will vacate the arena floor, the first match-up will now get underway!" the announcer said, as everyone, apart from Lori and Ghondor left the arena.
"I can't say I feel bad for doing this, because you all deserve to be punished!" Ghondor commented.
"Stay out of this, kid! You and your friends have nothing to do with our family" Lori yelled.
"We'll see about that." Ghondor smirked.
"And now, the computer will now randomly select the Action Field! And it has chosen The Misty Forest!" the announcer proclaimed.
"Augmented Reality Combat system online. Generating Action Field." A computerized voice said, as the ARC System generated a Dark Forest with a soft mist. It was then both Lori and Ghondor both activated their duel disks.

The intro starts with Lincoln putting on activating his Duel Disk, before he runs towards the scene.
Still together as one;

The scene changed to Lincoln drawing a card and summoning his Elemental HEROS behind him, as Winged Kuriboh was right next to him.
So don't stand in our way;
You know we ain't afraid;
This is our time, we're in control!
The scene then changed and showed Noah summoning his Sword and Mio with her Moonblades, with their Ouroboros forms appearing behind them.
If I trip up today;
You just wipe it away;
All of my fears are gone, erased!
The scene then changed and showed Eunie holding her Ether Rifle and aiming it while Taion summoned his Mondo while they surrounded him, with their Ouroboros forms appearing behind them.
Let us tear down the walls

The scene then changed and showed Lanz piercing his Shield Blade into the ground while Sena hit the ground with her giant hammer before the two fist bump each other, with their Ouroboros forms appearing behind them.

The scene changed to Lincoln and his friends, including Riku and Manana, as Lincoln held up a card as it shined brightly with the Ouroboros Ring.

The shadow of Z appeared over the Loud Sisters as X and Y appeared and charged in, morphing into their Moebius forms.
Reach down deep;
Beat defeat;
Do all that we can do!
Lincoln then jumped in and summoned his monsters as his friends came and merged into their Ouroboros forms and charged in, before they and Moebius attacked each other.

We've got nothing to lose!
Noah then pulled out his sword from the core of his chest, as he slashed through the Moebius, before looking at the shadow of Z.
Keep breathing;
Believing;
Halfway to forever-rrrrrr!
Everyone then charged at Z, as Lincoln drew a card from his deck, as the Ouroboros Ring shined brightly once more, as the title then appeared below everyone.

"I call heads!" Lori said, as the coin was tossed into the air landed on tails side up.
"And the first move is mine!" Ghonder exclaimed. "I summon Battlin' Boxer Glassjaw, in attack mode!" She said, as she summoned a green skinned boxer, wearing white shorts, black punching gloves and a black mask.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lori asked rudely.
"You left a weaker monster than mine in attack mode, without putting down any spell or trap cards." Ghondor said, making Lori's eyes widen in sudden realization from her mistake. "No matter. That just makes it easier for me. I draw!" Ghonder said, drawing from her deck.

"I activate the Spell Card I just drew, Double Summon! This allows me to conduct 2 Normal Summons this turn, instead of just 1, and I think I will summon the monsters in my hand, Battlin' Boxer Big Bandage and Battlin' Boxer Headgeared, both in attack mode!" Ghondor said. The monsters she summoned were also boxers, one of which was covered in bandages, while the other was black and wore red headgear and boxing gloves.

"Now I will Overlay Level 4 Battlin' Boxer Glassjaw and Level 4 Battlin' Boxer Headgeared, in order to build the Overlay Network!" Both of Ghondor's Level 4 Monsters then turned into red balls of light, before going into the galaxy-like portal. "I XYZ Summon, Battlin Boxer Lead Yoke!" The XYZ Monster was a skinny robotic boxer, wielding only one black metal boxing glove with chains surrounding it, along with two red orbs circling the monster.

Lori said, as Ghonder drew her cards while the Loud Sister showed a card, which had a picture of white magician.

"The Monster I'm discarding is Silent Magician LV8, which has 3500 Attack Points, more than enough to destroy your Lead Yoke!" Lori's dragon was then about to destroy Ghondor's XYZ Monster when…
"Good move, but not good enough! I activate Lead Yoke's Special Ability! If a Battlin' Boxer on my field would be destroyed by battle or card effect, I can use 1 Overlay Unit to save itself!" Ghondor said, as Battlin' Boxer Lead Yoke absorbed an Overlay Unit, which prevented its destruction.
"Okay, that's bad." Lori said.
"And it's about to get worse! Whenever Lead Yoke Uses an Overlay Unit, it gains 800 Attack Points!" Ghondor smirked, seeing her monster's points rise.

"I may not be able to destroy Lead Yoke, but I can still destroy your other monster. Armed Dragon, attack Big Bandage!" Lori ordered, as her dragon attacked Big Bandage, which had somehow survived. "What?! How did it still standing?!"
"It's because of Big Bandage's other effect, which is that it can't be destroyed by battle once a turn." Ghonder explained, as her Life Points went down.

"Horus, attack, and make sure that bandage boxer is gone this time!" Lori yelled, as the bird-like dragon attacked Big Bandage.
"I activate Lead Yoke's ability once more, to save Big Bandage from destruction!" Ghondor said, as her XYZ Monster absorbed its other Overlay Unit and saved its companion. "And since it used an Overlay Unit, it gains another 800 Attack Points!"

"Lead Yoke, attack Armed Dragon LV3!" Ghonder yelled, as her XYZ Monster went ahead and attacked the small dragon, destroying it.

"I set one card face down and end my turn." Ghonder smirked, placing down one card in her Spell/Trap Card Zone.

"I summon Silent Magician LV4, in attack mode!" Lori said, as a small white magician appeared.

"And since it can't be destroyed for only one battle per turn, and your Lead Yoke doesn't have anymore Overlay Units, Big Bandage won't survive this time. Horus, finish that bandaged freak!" Lori ordered, as Horus destroyed Big Bandage.

"I end my turn, and since Horus destroyed a monster this turn, he levels up from Level 4 to Level 6!" The Black flame emerged once again, only to engulf Horus as it was beginning to manifest into its stronger form. The bird-like dragon's flames were extinguished, revealing its evolved body.

"My turn, I draw!" Lori said, drawing a card.

"From my hand, I'll play a second Level Modulation!" Lori exclaimed, as she played the spell and her opponent drew 2 more cards, while Lori summoned Armed Dragon LV5 from the Graveyard.

"I don't think so!" Ghondor said, revealing one of her face down cards. "I play my Trap Card, Magic Jammer! By discarding one card from my hand, I can negate and destroy your Dragon Mirror!"

"What?!" Lori exclaimed, as the Spell she just played was shattered into pieces. "I'll switch Horus to Defense Mode, and Set a Monster Face Down, also in Defense Mode. Your move." She growled.

"Very well then. I draw!" Ghonder then drew her card.
Ghondor: Hand: 4
"I summon Battlin' Boxer Counterpunch, in Attack Mode!" Ghonder said, as she summoned what looked like a normal boxer, with the exception of a strange duel-disk like metal on his right arm.

"Maybe, but at least I'll do less damage to myself so I can find out what that face down is. I'll place one face down and play the Spell, Reload! This lets me shuffle the card in my hand and then draw the same amount." Ghondor said, as she put her one card back into her deck, shuffled, and drew a new card.

"Now I'll attack with all 3 of my monsters!" Ghondor said, as Shadow destroyed Horus, Lead Yoke destroyed Armed Dragon, and Counterpunch attacked Lori's face down Monster, which revealed to be the Magician of Faith.

'She's gonna try and Fusion Summon again!' Ghondor thought, before looking at her three face down cards. 'No matter what she summons, she won't even have a chance to use it!' "I end my turn."
"Time to win this duel! I draw!" Lori exclaimed.

"Once again, I Set 1 Monster face down in Defense Mode and play Dragon's Mirror!" The Mirror then appeared, as five different dragons went into it. "I banish Armed Dragon LV3 LV5, Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4 and LV6, and Masked Dragon, to Fusion Summon Five-Headed Dragon!" Lori exclaimed as a Dragon with five heads emerged from the mirror. Its main body and one of it's heads was yellow, while the others consisted of a fire dragon, a sea-serpent, a metal dragon, and a darker dragon.

"Don't be so sure. Like Lincoln always says, it's not over until the last card is played! I draw!" Ghondor yelled, smirking at what she just drew.

"I play the Spell, Dark Hole!" She said "When this card is played, all monsters on the field are destroyed!" Ghondor exclaimed, making Lori's eyes widen, as a black hole appeared and sucked in all the monsters currently out, including Five-Headed Dragon. "I'll set one monster face down in Defense Mode, and call it a turn."

"Okay, it's my turn then. I draw." Lori said, trying to composure herself. "I'll just summon Armed Dragon LV3."

"You have no one to blame but yourself for that one." Ghonder said. "Lincoln was right. You, along with your sisters, are beyond spoiled, stupid, and toxic."
"What would you know about our family?!" Lori yelled.
"More than you know. Lincoln has tried to be a supportive brother, not only to you, but to the rest of your sisters. And most of the time, all that gets him is being treated like some token servant, whether it's you girls deploying a Protocol that's flawed beyond repair when two or more sisters get into a fight over something, being treated more like a lab rat, being blackmailed into doing ridiculous favors for Lola, being Lynn's personal punching bag, or taking the blame for someone. And to be honest, this whole bad luck garbage was the final straw, even if Lincoln made it worse by lying. But you know what," Ghonder clenched her fists, staring at Lori in anger. "It's a good thing he did lie! Because it showed not only his friends, but everyone in Royal Woods, probably the world, just how quickly you girls would turn on your own family members for such an idiotic reason! And I don't remember Lincoln saying anything about any of you even trying to stand up for him!" Ghondor argued.
"I…" Lori said, before Ghondor interrupted her.
"Whatever, it's my turn now! I draw!" Ghondor yelled.

"I summon my second Battlin' Boxer Headgeared!" Ghondor said, as a familiar monster then appeared on her side of the field.

"And when he's sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, I can target one Battlin' Boxer in my Graveyard, and add it to my hand. I choose Battlin' Boxer Shadow and end my turn!"

"Right, I draw. And since it's now my Standby Phase, Armed Dragon levels up from Level 3 to Level 5!" Lori explained.

"Now, Armed Dragon, attack Headgeared!" Lori said, as her dragon attacked the boxer. "Though your monster isn't destroyed, you still take Battle Damage!"

"I end my turn." Lori said.

"Alright, time to end this!" Ghondor yelled, drawing her card.
Ghondor: Hand: 2
"I summon Battlin' Boxer Switchitter!" Ghondor said, summoning a boxer with red boxing gloves, a tan hood, and silver mask.
Battlin' Boxer Switchitter

"Now I will activate Switchitter's ability!" When he is summoned, I can summon a Battlin' Boxer from my Graveyard, and I choose Lead Yoke!" Ghonder explained, as Lead Yoke once again took the field.

"You know, you should be honored. I don't normally play this card, but since I can't hold back, I can use my most Powerful Monster in my entire Deck!"
"What?!" Lori exclaimed. 'I thought that Lead Yoke was her most powerful creature. What can be more powerful than that?'
Meanwhile, in the waiting room…
"Is she…?" Lincoln asked in shock, as he and the other Top Duelists were watching the Duel on a TV.
"She is!" Sena said in surprise.
"Now I overlay Level 4 Headgeared and Level 4 Switchitter, to build the Overlay Network." Ghondor said, as both monsters were turned into red balls of light and entered the galaxy-like portal, before it exploded. "I XYZ Summon, Number 79: Battlin' Boxer Nova Kaiser!" The Monster wore red metallic armor and a jetpack, wielding high tech "brass" knuckles, with two red orbs orbiting it and the number 79 upon its torso.

"No way! A Number Monster?!" Clyde exclaimed in shock. "I thought those were long gone!"
"Not exactly." Ronnie said. "While the original Number Monsters disappeared one day, Industrial Illusions created a copy of each Number. Of course, they got rid of the 'Only a Number can destroy a Number' out of them. From what Lincoln told me, they were entrusted to the best of the best, including Ghondor."
"I see." Clyde nodded, before turning back to the match. "I'm glad not Lori right now. Number Monsters are just as rare as the Egyptian God Cards, only one of each in the entire world!"
"I activate Nova Kaiser's ability! Once a turn, I can attach one monster from my hand or Graveyard, and use it as an Overlay Unit, and for every Overlay Unit he has, he gains 100 Attack Points!" Ghondor said, as a red orb shot out of her Graveyard and started to orbit her Number Monster.
Number 79: Battlin' Boxer Nova Kaiser
ATK: 2300 + 300 = 2600
Overlay Units: 2 + 1 = 3
"Now, Nova Kaiser, attack Armed Dragon!" Ghonder ordered, as the Number Monster rocketed towards the dragon and punched it, shattering it to pieces.
Lori: LP: 1300 - 200 = 1100 LP
"Now, Lead Yoke, attack Lori directly and end this duel!" Ghondor exclaimed as Lead Yoke punched Lori in the gut (which didn't hurt by the way) as he stumbled a few feet back.
Lori: LP: 1100 - 2200 = 0 LP
Winner: Ghondor
"And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! Though it was close, Lori Loud was no match for our Boxing Duelist!" The announcer said, as the crowd started chanting Ghondor's name, while the Action Field began to dissipate.
Lori did nothing but stand there, and say, "Good game, Ghondor."
"You too. I must say, you almost had me there. If it weren't for those rookie mistakes, you could have won." Ghondor commented as she walked up to her.
"Yeah." Lori smiled sadly.
"But seriously, I really meant what I said earlier. Your brother sacrificed everything time and time again for your family, and not once did you return the favor. Instead, you just used him for your own gain."
"You're right." Lori sighed. "Do you think he'll ever forgive us?"
"When you get out of the Facility, talk to him and find out. You can't turn back time and change the past, but you can at least try to make the future more fruitful," Ghondor stated, smiling.
Lori nodded, as she was thinking about Ghondor's words, as two guards came in. "Alright Loud, let's get going."
"Okay…" Lori said, as he cooperated and left with the guards. 'One day, I will set this right to not only Lincoln, but to everyone.'
"We'll be right back with the second matchup of the day after a half hour intermission, so don't go anywhere. We are just getting started!" The announcer said, as the audience cheered.

This and future duels are simulated with Yu-Gi-Oh Nexus, a dueling simulator to test different kinds of decks. Had to add a recap, otherwise this chapter would be too short.
