Chapter 6: I Need A HERO
Before the third match would begin, Lynn Sr's father, Leonard, got permission to see both of the Loud Parents, as they were in a private office with guards standing outside the door. "Lynn, Rita, there had better be a GOOD explanation as to why you both treated your only son as badly as you did," Leonard stated, sounding extremely irritated with both of them.
"Well, it's not like we could help it! Lincoln's sisters all said he was bad luck, so it had to be true!" Lynn Sr explained.
"Lynn, did you seriously use the whole 'if enough people say the same thing, then it has to be true' rule against Lincoln?" Leonard asked, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Well, yeah. That's how you guys raised me," Lynn Sr replied.
"Yeah, we raised YOU with that rule. That doesn't mean you get to enforce it on anyone else! Least of all your own flesh and blood!" Leonard snapped.
"Now how is that fair?! You guys get to do it to me, but I'm not allowed to use the same methods on MY kids?" Lynn Sr argued, sounding quite irritated.
"Because Lynn, nine times out of ten, after your siblings do a little digging around, they find evidence that can easily prove that you were lying! Let me guess; Your daughters follow that 'women's intuition' thing, which is almost always based on rash conclusions, to deduce that their brother is to blame, right?" Leonard yelled.
"Well, when we thought Lincoln clogged the toilet with the Princess Pony book, his sisters were basing it on the fact that he flushes stuff down the toilet that shouldn't go down there, so naturally, we had to believe it to be true," Lynn Sr replied. His father groaned in irritation.
"I don't get why you can't give Lincoln the benefit of the doubt. Is it because he hates sports? Newsflash Lynn, not every boy has to be athletic! Lincoln seemed perfectly happy reading comics and playing video games. Are you just that against him because he'd rather pick up an issue of Ace Savvy or a game controller instead of a baseball bat and glove?" Leonard interrogated.
"Well, I just wanted to have the ideal father/son relationship that every father wants. Besides, Lincoln needs to be more active. Which is why we signed him up for football a few months back," Lynn Sr replied.
"Lynn, does Lincoln EVER show any athletic talent or interest?" Leonard asked.
"Well, no, but we just don't want him to be lazy. We only want what's best for him," Lynn Sr replied.
"You mean you want what's best for him for YOUR sake. You both were trying to forcibly change Lincoln into something he isn't, while at the same time, allowing your daughter's to do whatever they want, and never worry about the consequences of their actions," Leonard chastised.
"Well, it doesn't matter either way. Lincoln still broke the 'No Duel Monsters' rule we established in our house. No matter what anyone says, he's the only one in the wrong," Rita stated. Leonard just sighed in exasperation. Were these two really so stubborn that they refused to see their daughter's faults and focus only on what makes Lincoln seem like a bad guy?
"The duel between Lana and Lincoln Loud will begin in 10 minutes!" a speaker exclaimed.
"We'll finish this discussion later. Right now I'm going to support my grandson" he said, storming out, leaving the Loud Parents in the room, completely bewildered.
"I don't understand it. Why is Dad so insistent on having Lincoln's back? He knows that Lincoln's the one in the wrong," Lynn Sr commented.
"It might take some time, but I'm sure he'll come around to see things our way, just like everyone else will," Rita replied, as the guards came in, and roughly took them both back to their seats.

The intro starts with Lincoln putting on activating his Duel Disk, before he runs towards the scene.

The scene changed to Lincoln drawing a card and summoning his Elemental HEROS behind him, as Winged Kuriboh was right next to him.

The scene then changed and showed Noah summoning his Sword and Mio with her Moonblades, with their Ouroboros forms appearing behind them.
If I trip up today;

The scene then changed and showed Eunie holding her Ether Rifle and aiming it while Taion summoned his Mondo while they surrounded him, with their Ouroboros forms appearing behind them.

The scene then changed and showed Lanz piercing his Shield Blade into the ground while Sena hit the ground with her giant hammer before the two fist bump each other, with their Ouroboros forms appearing behind them.

The scene changed to Lincoln and his friends, including Riku and Manana, as Lincoln held up a card as it shined brightly with the Ouroboros Ring.

The shadow of Z appeared over the Loud Sisters as X and Y appeared and charged in, morphing into their Moebius forms.
Reach down deep;
Beat defeat;
Do all that we can do!
Lincoln then jumped in and summoned his monsters as his friends came and merged into their Ouroboros forms and charged in, before they and Moebius attacked each other.
Halfway to,
Forever;
We've got nothing to lose!
Noah then pulled out his sword from the core of his chest, as he slashed through the Moebius, before looking at the shadow of Z.
Keep breathing;
Believing;

Everyone then charged at Z, as Lincoln drew a card from his deck, as the Ouroboros Ring shined brightly once more, as the title then appeared below everyone.

Lincoln was busy going over his strategies, when heard the announcement for his turn to duel, as he put his deck in his pocket, as he left the room, and made his way to the Duel Arena. On the way, he was stopped as he heard shouting. "You idiots! What in the world are you playing at?!"
'Uh oh. The Kevesi Colonel's gonna explode.' Lincoln thought, as he saw a person with pinkish hair and a huge mustache that bends at almost right angles, wearing Kevesi Armor.
"Crashing the mobile artillery into a house?!" Colonel Vangarre was livid, his eyes filled with anger as he glared at two soldiers from Keves standing in front of him. "How long have you been in the force?!"
"Sorry, Sir." One of the soldiers began. "I- It's just that we were trying to go as fast as we could, like you ordered..."
"But it's impossible to get back to the Royal Woods Dome in only 40 seconds." The other soldier finished.
"I don't want any excuses!" yelled the Colonel. "Champions don't whine, they win!"
"Yes sir."
Colonel Vangarre continued with his rant. "You're a disgrace to the uniform! Are you forgetting the shame you brought on Keves during joint maneuvers with the Agnian Troops?!" He scowled at them. "Stick your back into it, maggots! Move it!"
"Yes, sir." The soldiers straightened up.
"Get the artillery back to the Dome, double time!" Vangarre ordered. "Then I want a million push-ups from both of you! And you better not stop until your biceps explode!"
Exchanging a grim expression with his companion, one of the soldiers said, "Colonel. We can't move the artillery."
"What?" Vangarre growled. "You'd better give a good reason why!"
"Sir! The impact of the crash damaged the ether conduction cable!" The soldier explained. "The ether fuel proceeded to leak out, and now the cylinder is empty!"
"Well, change the cylinder then!" Colonel Vangarre couldn't believe what he was hearing; they were like children! "Can't you even do something as simple as that?"
"The auxiliary cylinders have all been used up." The soldier replied. "It'll be three days until more come in, Sir."
"I told you to keep a stock of fuel in reserve!" The commander was becoming more and more infuriated.
"Sorry, Sir..."
"You're nothing but slackers!" He yelled before he brought back his arm and punched the poor soldier in the face, causing the boy to look away.
"Same old Colonel." Lincoln said. "At this rate, the men will all be dead before they even see any action." He walked away, not wanting to be caught in the scene.
Later, in Cell 13 at the Juvenile Facility…
"Welcome back to the Duel Monsters World Championship!" The announcer exclaimed. "So far, two of our Top Duelists have bestest the Loud Sisters, but let's see what happens when they have to face their own brother!"
"Stinkcoln had better lose his match if he knows what's good for him!" Lynn grumbled, before she got punched in the shoulder.
"In this corner, we have a Loud who likes wrestling alligators and getting dirty, Lana! And in this corner, the HomeTown Champion, and Number 7 Ranked Duelist in the World, it's Lincoln!" the announcer bellowed, as both competitors entered the arena, while the crowd chanted Lincoln's name. "And now, the Computer will now randomly choose the Action Field!" the announcer declared, as the chosen field popped up on the monitor. "And it has chosen the Iceberg Village!"
"Augmented Reality Combat System Online. Generating Action Field" A computerized voice said, as a snowy village on top of an iceberg was generated all around the two Duelists
"And now, for the coin toss!" the announcer said, as a virtual coin was tossed into the air.
"It's Tails!" Lincoln declared, as the coin landed Tails side up.
"Lincoln will have the first move!" the announcer declared, as both Louds drew their cards from their decks.
"LETS DUEL!" they both said.

"For my first move, I'll summon Elemental HERO Heat, in Attack Mode!" Lincoln exclaimed.
Throwing down his monster card, a spiral made of fire shot out of the ground, and out of it came a man wearing a red, white, and yellow superhero costume. The hero was male and was dressed in a fully bodysuit with a pointed helmet colored in a way that made the appearance of flames covering him. A small oddity to the suit was of a single long cloth hanging from his belt. The kind that looked like something you'd see on ceremonial armor. "Time to heat things up!" The man exclaimed, as he struck the landing as his feet started to melt the snow a little.

"Nice entrance." Lincoln commented.
"Thanks. I've been working on it for a while now." Heat smirked.
"Is he talking to his card?" Lucy asked in confusion.
"Lincoln does know that it's just ink on a card, right?" Lisa deadpanned.
"What do you think you're doing?!" shouted Lana. "You're here for a Duel, not a friendly conversation!"
A bit annoyed, Heat then stated, "Quite a rude sister you have here, Lincoln... Shall I teach her some manners? On your next turn, of course."
"Absolutely." Lincoln said with a nod. "Elemental HERO Heat's effect now activates! For every 'Elemental Hero' I control, which includes himself, he gains 200 Attack Points!"

"Next I'll throw a face down. Your move." Lincoln said, ending his turn.

Lana said nothing and just nodded, while she drew her card.
Lana: Hand: 6
"I summon Scrap Shark, in Attack Mode!" Lana exclaimed, as a mechanical shark made of scrap metal appeared.

"Now Scrap Shark, sink your teeth into Elemental HERO Heat!" Lana ordered, as her monster charged in to attack.
"Not so fast!" Lincoln yelled, as he revealed his face down card. "I've got a Trap! Negate Attack!" The metal shark then bounced off an invisible barrier, before the shark shattered into pieces.
"Because a card effect was activated, Scrap Shark is automatically destroyed. When this happens, I can send one 'Scrap' Monster from my deck to the graveyard." Lana explained, as she sent Scrap Raptor to the Graveyard. "I have no other moves to make, so I will end my turn."

"Then it's back to me!" Lincoln grinned.
Lincoln: Hand: 4
"I play the Spell Card, Polymerization! With it, I fuse Elemental HERO Heat on my field and Elemental HERO Clayman from my hand, to Fusion Summon Elemental HERO Nova Master!" Lincoln said, as Heat and a monster from his hand fused together, and a fiery new hero came out of the fusion vortex, it had red armor all over and a red cloak with some orange at the bottom.

"Next, I will play the Spell, Fusion Recovery! This card allows me to target one Polymerization and one monster that I used to Fusion Summon in my graveyard, and add them to my hand!" Lincoln said, as his Polymerization and Elemental HERO Heat ejected out of his Graveyard, and added them to his current hand.

"Next, I will summon the monster I just got back! Return, Elemental HERO Heat!" Lincoln said, as Heat returned to the field.
"Ah, good to be back." Heat said. "Ready to turn up the heat, Nova?"
"Indeed." Nova Master nodded.

"Now both my monsters will attack you directly!" Lincoln said, as Heat charged the Loud sister as his left fist, while Nova Master's right fist became coated in fire.
"BURNING FIST!" They both exclaimed, as with two super heated punches, Lana's Life Points dropped dramatically.

"Nice job, guys." Lincoln commented on his monsters, as he then ended his turn.

'What is up with him? It's like he thinks his monsters are actually real.' Lana thought before shrugging it off and drew her next card, smirking at what she drew.

"I summon to the field, Scrap Chimera!" Lana exclaimed as a winged mechanical lion with hooves for feet and a snake for a tail appeared.

"Scrap Chimera's effect activates! When it is Normal Summoned, I can Special a 'Scrap' Tuner monster from my Graveyard!"
"A Tuner Monster? But you don't-" Lincoln blinked, before his eyes widened and gasped in realization. "The card you sent to the Graveyard with Scrap Shark's effect!"
"That's right! Be reborn, Scrap Raptor!" Lana yelled, as a mechanical dinosaur appeared next to Scrap Chimera.

"I now tune Level 4 Scrap Raptor with Level 4 Scrap Chimera!" Her dinosaur then turned into four green stars, which then turned into green rings, which surrounded Scrap Chimera, which turned into white stars and lined up perfectly. "Old and broken machines, gather together and give birth to a new power!" A flashed of light filled the stadium. "I Synchro Summon, Scrap Dragon!" The light then faded away, as a mechanical dragon with plated wings and red eyes emerged and roared at the Elemental HERO's.

"Now, Scrap Dragon, attack Elemental HERO Nova Master!" Lana ordered, as the dragon blasted the HERO with superheated steam that boiled his skin, as he screamed in pain before he was destroyed.

"No! Nova Master!" Lincoln exclaimed as his Life Points went down.

"I end my turn." Lana said, satisfied.

"Alright then." Lincoln said, putting his finger tips on his deck. "Nova Master, this one's for you!" He then drew his card.

"First, I think I'll summon Elemental HERO Stratos!" Lincoln said, as a warrior clad in blue and silver armor with turbine wings appeared alongside Heat.

"My new HERO has two abilities, but I can only activate one of them. I choose his second effect, which lets me add a 'HERO' monster from my deck to my hand! Stratos, if you would?"
"It would be my pleasure!" Stratos said, as the propellers on his turbine wings began to rotate, until they were fast enough to create whirlwinds, which took one card out of Lincoln's deck and flew into his hand.
"The card I chose was Elemental HERO Burstinatrix!" Lincoln said, as he showed the monster that was now in his hand, while his deck reshuffled itself.
"So what if you have another lame monster? It can't beat my Dragon!" Lana said.
"Now hang on!" Lincoln replied with a frown. "Just because my monsters can't beat your Scrap Dragon now doesn't give you the excuse to call them lame!"
"Oh come on! Why are you even defending them? They're nothing more than playing cards!" Lana said, causing the HERO's to glare at her.
"Yes they are!" Lincoln yelled. "These are more than playing cards, Lana. They're my friends, and I treat them with respect!"
"Yeah right." Lana said, unconvinced. "Just make your move already! I'm getting bored!"
"Okay. If that's what you want." Lincoln said, taking a card out of his hand. "I activate the Field Spell, Skyscraper!" Lincoln then played his card into the field slot in his Duel Disk causing the snowy village to change into a large city with a bunch of tall buildings.
"Okay, but what was the point? That card didn't do anything but change our surroundings."
"Not yet it hasn't." Lincoln smirked. "When a 'Elemental HERO' attacks a monster whose Attack Points are higher than theirs, my HERO gets 1000 Attack Points during battle! And from what I see, Scrap Dragon is 800 Points stronger than Heat."
"Oh no!" Lana shouted in realization.
"Heat, you know what to do!"
"Oh yeah, baby!" Heat exclaimed, as he jumped off one of the skyscrapers.

His fist was then covered in flames, as he then destroyed Scrap Dragon.
Lana: LP: 3400 - 200 = 3200 LP

"I activate Scrap Dragon's effect! When it is destroyed by my opponent, I can target one non-Synchro 'Scrap' monster from my Graveyard, and Special Summon it to the field! Return, Scrap Raptor!" Lana exclaimed, as her mechanical dinosaur returned to the field, this time in Defense Mode.

"Well that won't matter. Stratos, attack Scrap Raptor!" Lincoln said, as his HERO then flew towards the dinosaur and punched it in the face, causing it to shatter into pixels. "I'll call it a turn there."

"Finally, I draw!" Lana exclaimed.
Lana: Hand: 6
"I have no moves to make except to play a monster facedown in Defense Mode." Lana said, ending her turn immediately.
Lana: Hand: 5
'Lana must have been only drawing monster cards. That's why she hasn't played any Spells or Traps yet, and I know she didn't make the same mistake Lynn did by not having any at all.' Lincoln thought, before drawing his card.

"I summon the card I added to my hand earlier, Elemental HERO Burstinatrix!" Lincoln said, as a woman wearing a red bodysuit emerged.

"Nice of you to finally join the party." Heat smirked, as his power grew with a new HERO on the field.

"You know it's rude to rush a lady, Heat." Burstinatrix commented.
"Alright guys, let's do this!" Lincoln exclaimed. "Heat, attack Lana's facedown monster!"
"With pleasure!" Heat yelled, as he used Burning Fist on Lana's facedown, which was Scrap Beast, before it was destroyed.
"Everyone else, attack Lana Directly!" Lincolned ordered, as the rest of his HERO's attacked. "I end my turn."
Lana: LP: 3200 - 3000 = 200 LP
Lincoln: Hand: 2
'Dang it! I'm backed into a corner! The only way to come back from this is if I can draw and play something very powerful! Come on deck, don't fail me now.' Lana thought, as she took a deep breath and drew her card. "YES!"

"I play the Field Spell, Scrap Factory!" Lana yelled, as the inside of a factory appeared on her side of the field. "When this card is on the field, all 'Scrap' Monsters gain 200 Attack and Defense Points! Next, I'll summon Scrap Recycler!"

ATK/DEF: 900/1200 + 200/200 = 1100/1400
"When Scrap Recycler is summoned, I can send one Machine Monster from my Deck to the Graveyard." Lana explained, as she took a card out of her deck, and discarded it. "And Since I control a Scrap Monster, I can Special Summon the Tuner Monster, Scrap Orthros!" A mechanical dog with two heads appeared and howled.

"Since I summon Orthros this way, I must destroy a 'Scrap' Monster, and I choose Recycler!" Lana said, as Recycler then disintegrated. "Scrap Factory's other effect now activates! When a 'Scrap' Monster is destroyed by a card effect, I can summon another from my deck!" The machinery then began to move, as it created another Scrap Raptor.

"Now I activate Scrap Raptor's effect! By destroying one Monster I control, I can do an additional Normal Summon this turn, as long as the monster I summon has 'Scrap' in its name." She said, as she destroyed the Scrap Raptor she just summoned.
'She's destroying her own monster to activate its effect?' Lincoln thought, as he then narrowed his eyes at his sister. 'What are you planning, Lana?'
"Next, I tribute Orthros, in order to summon Scrap Golem!" Lana yelled, as the mechanical dog was replaced by a larger creature whose body was a refrigerator and whose head was a microwave. The arms were composed of tubing, one of which ended in a propeller and the other with a hammer.

"I now activate my Golem's effect, which allows me to bring back a Level 4 or lower 'Scrap' Monster!" Lana explained, as Scrap Golem's fridge opened, and Scrap Raptor came out of it.

"I now tune Level 4 Scrap Raptor with my Level 5 Scrap Golem!" Lana yelled. "Broken and abandoned machines, revive a great beast and unite to form a new power! I Synchro Summon, Scrap Twin Dragon!" A large two-headed mechanical dragon emerged from the light of the rings and roared at its opponent's.

"I activate my dragon's effect! I target my Scrap Factory, and your Elemental HERO's Heat and Stratos! My card is now destroyed and your's are sent back to your hand!"
"What?!" Lincoln exclaimed, as the Synchro Monster roared and transformed Scrap Factory into a pile of scrap metal, which was then launched at two of his heroes, as they screamed and returned to Lincoln's hand.

Lincoln: Hand: 4
"Now Scrap Dragon, attack his only monster!" Lana ordered, as the mechanical two headed dragon blasted Burstinatrix, who shattered into pixels, much to Lincoln's dismay.
Lincoln: LP: 7800 - 1800 = 6000 LP
"That will do for now." Lana smirked.
Lana: Hand: 3
'Lana thinks she just turned this Duel around. But she just guaranteed her defeat by activating her dragon's ability.' Lincoln thought, as he stared at his Polymerization Card, before drawing what would be the final card.
Lincoln: Hand: 5
"I play the Spell, Polymerization, to fuse Elemental HERO's Heat and Stratos from my hand!" Lincoln exclaimed, as Heat and Stratos took the field one last time.
"Ready buddy?" Heat asked.
"I was born ready! Unite…!" Stratos exclaimed, as they merged together, and formed a hero who was wearing green and yellow, along with a robe over his left arm.
"And strike!"

"Great Tornado's effect now activates! When he is Fusion Summoned to the field, all monsters you control lose half of their Attack and Defense Points!"
"NO!" Lana exclaimed, as she saw a tornado surround her dragon, causing its points to drop.

DEF: 2200/2 = 1100
"Elemental HERO Great Tornado, end this duel!" Lincoln exclaimed.
"It would be my pleasure!" Great Tornado said, as he then attacked the mechanical two headed dragon, causing it to fall on top of Lana.
Lana: LP: 200 - 1300 = 0 LP
Winner: Lincoln
Lincoln just smirked and gave his sister a peace sign, "That's game!" He said, as the field then disappeared, as the audience went crazy, while Lana got up.
"Good game, bro. You got me." Lana said, admitting defeat.
"Thanks. Glad to see you're not sore about the loss." Lincoln said, as he shook Lana's hand.
"Yeah, I am bummed that I lost, but after everything that's happened, I'm glad I lost." Lana replied.
"Oh yeah?" Lincoln asked, as Colonel Vangarre entered the arena.
"Yeah."
"Alright, Ms. Loud!" Colonel Vangarre yelled, causing the girl to jump, as he grabbed her arm and dragged her away. "Time for you to get to Boot Camp!"
"Oh boy. Looks like they decided the Colonel to run Boot Camp this summer." Lincoln sweatdropped, before he slowly walked away.
Meanwhile, back at Cell 13…
"Man, tough break for the kid." One of the inmates said.
"True, but she did the mature thing; Congratulating her brother for his win,and getting back up." The Leader said, before mumbling, "Even though she might have been forced to."
Everyone's thoughts were interrupted, as they saw Lynn Jr screaming and running towards the TV. She then started to punch and kick it, breaking it completely.
"OH COME ON!"
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
"IT TOOK US 6 MONTHS OF IN-FACILITY JOBS TO EARN THAT!"
Lynn continued to beat up the very damaged TV, just as a team of Special Forces Guards stormed into the cell, and restrained her. Lynn tried to wrestle her way out, but the guards proved to be much stronger than she was. They quickly put her into a straight jacket, and put her onto a trolly.
"You're not even here for one day, and you're already causing trouble!" One of the guards yelled. "You're spending the rest of the Tournament in Solitary Confinement!"
Lynn was still struggling to get out of the straight jacket, but it was fastened too tightly for her to move freely, "Maybe spending some time alone will teach you to respect other people's property!" the guard said, as they undid the straight jacket, and shoved the disgraced athlete into the cell. Lynn was quick to get up, and lunged at the guards, only for them to slam the door shut, causing her to slam face first into the door.
"GRRRAAAAAAAAAAH! This is so unfair! Here I was, the greatest athlete in Royal Woods, destined for greatness, all for that stinkin' jinx of a brother of mine to ruin everything! I'm not the one who's in the wrong! Stinkcoln is! He knew that Dad hates Duel Monsters! If that loser had just followed the rules and had no interest in that forbidden game, none of this would've happened, and I would still be the Champion of Sports!" Lynn screamed. But since the cell was soundproofed from the outside, no one could hear her tantrum.
"Oh ye who flows in the current."
Lynn gasped, as she turned to see a figure appear out of thin air. The man had pale skin, long white hair with bangs, red eyes, pointed ears, and sharp nails. He had purple cracks on his face and horns made of purple flames on his forehead. He wore a cardinal Victorian-style overcoat with silver trims and a tie-like decoration in the center. The coat had glowing purple lines running throughout.
"Know that a true champion's strength is not measured by luck or skill, but by his heart." The man said. "For that reason, the heart that is true and strong shall always emerge victorious."
"What?" Lynn asked in disbelief. "Are you saying my heart's weaker than his?!"
"For that instant, you are." The man said. "But do not fear, child. You can become stronger." He then walked away. "Your determination to win at any cost has impressed me, thus makes the question. Will you choose to forgive your brother and lose, or live in the Endless Now and emerge victorious."
"The Endless Now?" Lynn asked. "What is that supposed to mean? Who are you?!"
The man stopped, as he turned his head towards Lynn. "My name is Z, and I can grant your desire." He said, as red infinity symbols appeared in his eyes, before he vanished into purple particles, leaving Lynn to her thoughts.

After so much work of building decks for the rest of the characters, and simulating dozens of duels until one of them satisfied me, I had to take a break. Sorry for the long wait.
