Never Take a Pirate for Grant'd! 7 - or 'So, I guess I have to fill up for Grant, heh?' (Castlevania Netflix Grant Danasty!SI, Lite Gamer)

Two days. It's been two days since I had faced Dracula, lost and pretty much been left half-dead in the river leading me away from the Castle.

I didn't bother re-entering it considering it had relocated by the time I left the body of water, but rather focused on my next steps since a direct confrontation wasn't just possible. Plan A failed, so I would have to rely on Plan B: go to Gresit, recruit the canon trio and help them in their efforts.

At this point, they were the best bet we all got to win in this situation.

So, for two days I marched towards Gresit. I slayed all monsters around, ripped through smaller groups of Dracula's army and freed areas that had been occupied by some of his demonic forces. I wouldn't say I outright wrecked his army, but I dulled the attacking force enough to slow down their advance within the area of Gresit. A small section still made it there, but by the time I got there this group had yet to strike.

When I arrived in Gresit, people were nervous about my situation as I had been a lone man and one that had been depicted by some rumors to be the 'Demon-Gutter'. I don't know who came up with the rumor, but it was impressive how those spread so rapidly through the land.

And while I was a bit awkward over the unease I was receiving, I also knew they had good reasons to feel like this since-

I have not been slacking off. The fight with Dracula proved that while I could keep up with a fairly strong Vampire, I was nothing against someone like Dracula himself. And since there were individuals that were well above the guy... I couldn't slack off.

The end result was that I seemed to appear intimidating towards anyone looking at me out of my magical presence and overall might. And with the already-present 'worry' some had towards the Speakers. The church was particularly aggro as they were chasing to a 'particular' sinner, so I was aware at which point I was entering the place and, as I ventured towards the main square of the city, I was greeted by the sight of Trevor Belmont being encircled by an angry mob and a single priest causing all this mess.

It was hilarious, truth be told, even more when a circle of fire manifested through Sypha as she decided to keep behind and assist Trevor on the matter. All in all, the sight was indeed peculiar and yet also a chance to make an entrance. After all, the priest guy got roasted about sending others to do his bidding and this inspired me to be quite vocal about it.

"Man, this reminds me of something I read in a bible a while ago," I spoke loudly enough to draw attention. "I think it was from the Book of Ezekiel and it goes: "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children," I stepped around and then towards the confused priest, dagger still ready but he paused as he saw my cutlass. "And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

He tripped, panic rising as he unconsciously dropped the dagger.

"Let me ask you something. Is God a merciful being?"

He didn't speak, but he nodded.

"Do you think God would be sad to see what you have done?"

He slowly nodded, shivering as I leaned down to glare at him.

"Do you think he would condemn people that don't pay the church?"

He was more hesitant but he shook his head.

"Do you know what makes you then, oh 'priest'?" I hummed, then sighed at the lack of words. "It would make you a proper guest of hell upon your demise. I am sure Lucifer is feeling lonely in that hellhole of his- a new willing traitor of the faith to keep him cozy would be acceptable."

I leaned back, walking away. "God is indeed merciful, people of Gresit. But no one here is God, and I think we can all agree his demise would be a most good and gracious thing to prevent more sinning, yes?"

I didn't get much of a response as some folks, clearly scorned by the priest in particular, saw this as an excuse to let out their wrath. It was indeed satisfying as it was just the first step of properly taking care of the corrupt church but... it didn't last for long.

The Demons were already attacking Gresit as a fiery tower of fire erupted on the edge of the city, allowing the demons to break through the walls and rush into the city itself. Trevor didn't pause for just a moment, barking orders to the armed militia as those almost ran away by the battle. Truth be told, rallying against the church may have given those the guts to actually keep around and fight under Trevor's command.

The combat was mostly 'easy' for me since the bulk of the winged demons were not using their wings at all and getting slaughtered by the militia. The fact that Sypha wasn't a 'Black Mage' with her capacity to wreck people with Ice and Fire spells truly helped immensely.

The fight was not enough to warrant a level up, but as the brawl continued, I saw the ground giving away due to the intense pressure. Most of the fighters got away with it, with the notable individuals that fell unto the 'catacombs' being Trevor and Sypha themselves.

I was mid-air when that happened, but I dove down to intercept both. Sypha was in the most precarious position as Trevor managed to get an hold by one of the large gears before the catacombs themselves, and tried to help the Speaker in not falling any further.

She appeared a bit surprised as I landed beside her and helped her up when- I saw Trevor's gear breaking down fast.

"Miss, on my back, now!"

To her credit, the young woman rushed in position fast enough for me to rush and jump towards the falling Belmont. I saw the guy trying to use his whip to get hold of something, but failing to get that done so... I rushed towards him, and he latched onto my front.

The next bit was scary in its implications had I not been physically boosted to pull this. As a parkour specialist, I had to successfully land onto the lower platform, something well under several feets from our current falling position, without incurring in 1) death by impact and 2) getting crushed by any of the fallen pieces.

The falling pieces themselves gave me a chance to move around and land on semi-solid ground. I rushed and jumped around, the combined panic of both slayer and magic-user really not helping in getting the job done but... I managed to land myself and these two idiots safely by the platform.

There was a moment of silence before they both disengaged from grabbing onto me as if their life depended on me (as it literally did just few seconds earlier), and there was pure and utter calm as we all paused to study the place itself. The show did a fine job with the scenery, but it was still far from being the same as living the moment.

As that peace passed and they all stood up together with me, a very simple question was asked.

"Who the hell are you?"

I sighed. "Grant Danasty."

"Trevor Belmont-"

"Sypha Belnandes! Thank you for saving us, good sir."

I deflated a bit at the fangirling I was subjected to. "A pleasure and... yeah, that's where I was trying to get."

My mumbling caught the attention of the Belmont. "Are you one of those people that believe in a 'buried Messiah'?"

"I know what is hidden here is the weakness to Dracula. Which is why I traveled for Gresit."

"You know what is held here?" Sypha asked, perking up at my words. "You sound quite confident-"

"I do. And what is in here is not strong enough to face Dracula. No, this is the first one that objected to Dracula's plan and almost succeeded in stopping him."

They shared a surprised look with one another as I took the lead.

"By the way, the one held here is a Dhampir, daddy is a vampire and mommy is a human."

Trevor paused at this. "And?"

"And is not a threat despite this detail. Just don't be an ass."

The guy kept quiet at this, and soon we entered the chamber containing Alucard's coffin. The seal was soon 'broken' as we entered the chamber, the coffin unlocking and revealing Alucard and...

...

Why does Alucard have tits and look kinda cute?!

Next time, pure chaos, I guess!
