Chapter 1:

Katie's chest heaved with exertion, lungs burning as she trudged up the corridor that lead to her room. She had just finished her first day of practice on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, yet even with three years of experience playing for Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Nothing could have prepared her for Oliver Woods training sessions, grueling drills that left her body sore. As soon as her shins made contact with her bed, she flopped down on her stomach with a loud groan. From her bed she gazed at a pool of moonlight on the ground. It filled in the dusty gaps between the stone and turned everything a blueish silver.

"I warned you! I told you to stretch more before we started." Alicia scolded her from across the room, brushing her wet hair.

"My old captain was not this cruel" Katie grumbled from her place on the bed. Despite this Katie was really starting to enjoy going to school in England. It was a big change compared to America, where Rappaport's Law existed. A wizarding law enacted to create absolute segregation between the No-Majs also called muggles and the wizarding communities. It outlawed witches and wizards from even being friends with a No-Maj let alone having a relationship with them. Only allowing simple exchanges that had to be deemed crucial to preform daily activities.

When Katie's father heard the school was canceling Quidditch for the season, due to a breach in security with the No-Majs, he immediately got her transferred to Hogwarts. He was dead set on her not taking any breaks in her Quidditch training, even if it meant transferring into a new school in her fourth year.

"Welcome to Quidditch with Oliver Fucking Wood, served with a side of aches and pains" Angelina giggled. Katie couldn't help the groan that escaped her lips. Not being able to help it her mind wandered to her Quidditch Captain. There was something about him. His eyes, a pale Grey blue with flecks of gold, were remarkably warm. He was skinny but handsome, and there was a presence of hidden strength about him. Katie couldn't help but think back to that morning when she had realized in horror that he had caught her staring at him, while he ate his breakfast.

When he had quirked an eyebrow at her in a silent question, she did the only thing she could think of at the time. "You have some food stuck in your teeth." Katie explained before sheepishly looking back at Angelina. Although she did not miss the slight pink tint to the young Scottish boy's cheeks as he attempted to pick it out with his nail, turning his head away from the table.

Katie was broken from her thoughts when a pecking noise on the glass came from outside her window. Noticing her charcoal Grey owl, Capone she quickly got up. Allowing the owl to come inside, an envelope grasped between his talons. As soon as she handed him a treat, he dropped the envelope on the table below the window sill, and took off back into the night.

Tearing the letter open, she noticed her moms perfect cursive handwriting. The letter explained that they would not be signing her permission slip for Hogsmeade. It mentioned that Katie's much older brother Theodore worked at Spintwitches Quidditch Store and they didn't want her anywhere near that store or him.

She didn't know much about him, never having met him, and her parents hardly ever mentioned him. What she did piece together was that, Katie's father Cassius, and her mother Caroline had set up an arranged marriage for him when he became of age. Theodore got married at the age eighteen, but 8 months later he ended up killing his wife during her pregnancy. He had been in love with a No-Maj, and was immediately arrested and sent to Azkaban for 14 years, only just getting out recently.

Her parents had been so ashamed of their son they disowned him and had Katie. As if to replace him completely from their life. It was hard not to notice the grief that wrapped its way around her mother. That was a main reason why she never fought her parents about one day being set up for an arranged marriage as well. It was to be expected of her.

Instead Katie had made a bargain with her father a few years ago. As long as she continued with Quidditch and joined a professional team after school, he would delay her wedding until she was done playing, either by retirement or injury.

Knowing once she turned eighteen she would be engaged to whomever her father chose. It was a tradition with pure blooded families, and she didn't want to be another disappointment for her family. She didn't think her mom could handle it again.

It was finally Halloween and classes were done for the week. "Alright ladies it's time to go out there and dance with some cute boys." Angelina stated

"What about George" Katie asked. Angelina had not invited him to the Halloween party with the Hufflepuff's. Cedric Diggory had invited Alicia earlier in the week and said she could bring her female friends. Probably not wanting Fred and George to start any trouble or get the other kids caught. They were at times quite eccentric.

"That wanker still hasn't made a move and I'm not letting him hold back" she huffed back.

They eventually found themselves sneaking out past curfew. Clutching their heels to themselves to be as quiet as possible. Finding themselves outside of a door, Angelina explained that it was called the room of requirement and would change depending on what was wanted. The room looked like an ordinary living room with a few couches and even a full kitchen. It was crowded with mostly older kids, all drinking and having fun. They made their way into the kitchen having to squeeze through the crowds of people. When they found the alcohol, Angelina poured three shots. "Ready…Go" Angelina shouted slamming the drink along with the other two girls.

Later in the night Katie was briefly left alone while the other two went to the bathroom. Having just finished pouring them drinks, she turned from the counter looking around to see if she could spot the girls yet. Scanning over the crowds of people, until someone stood out to her. A boy a few years older than her, with short brown hair. He tall with powerful sculpted shoulders, fierce eyes, and a face that was hardened almost brutal.

He was not dressed in full costume like the rest of the kids. Wearing black slacks, a tight black t-shirt which showed off his rather large biceps for his age. While his neck was smeared with fake blood, a darker red shade that dripped down.

When she returned her eyes to his face, their eyes met. Feeling heat rise to her cheeks, unsure if she should look away or not. Maintaining eye contact with her, he excused himself from his friends and made his way over to her. Katie took a timid step forward, only to be suddenly yanked backward. Glancing up she noticed Alicia, red faced and looking very annoyed. Alicia continued to drag her in the opposite direction, away from the drinks she had just poured, and away from him.

"We have to go; Angelina was in the bathroom speaking Welsh. She's by the exit waiting for us." Alicia said.

Katie's feet scrambled to keep up with Alicia. Glancing behind her she noticed he had stopped his pursuit with an inscrutable look upon his face. Before she could utter a word, she was dragged away and out of the room. Now understanding that speaking Welsh meant throwing up, because there was Angelina with vomit all over her costume.

She did not see him again until her first Quidditch match Gryffindor Vs. Slytherin. When the team entered the pitch, they all mounted their brooms kicking off from the ground. Soaring through the air, waiting for the game to start, mixes of red and green flashing through the air. Then she saw him, sporting a green robe. Their eyes linked as they flew past one another, only a few feet apart. He had a mischievous look on his face, grinning at her as he flew by.

Madam Hooch grabs the Quaffle and tosses it in air as high as she can. "The Quaffle is released...and the game begins!" Cheers continued to erupt, and the game started.

Angelina took possession of the Quaffle and whizzes down the pitch toward the Slytherin goal, tossing the ball and scores. The game continues and Gryffindor is in the lead, Slytherin is starting to get irritated, deciding to take different measures to ensure a win for their house.

Katie watched from across the pitch as Marcus grabbed a beaters bat from one of his teammates and whacks a Bludger as hard as he could. Keeping her eye on the ball she watched in horror as it collided with Oliver Wood, directly in the stomach. Clutching it, he plummets to the ground, leaving them without anyone to guard their goals.

Marcus had the Quaffle in his hands and Katie took off after him. Coming from the side she used her body weight and dug her left shoulder in just under Marcus arm on his right side. He grunts and his hands loosen on the Quaffle, taking the opportunity she gets her hands on the Quaffle tangling their arms together. The shock wore off by now and he began pushing her back with his right elbow. "Watch it, stupid bint" He roared a scowl plastered on his face.

Fumbling with the Quaffle she used all her strength to try and pry it from his hands, but he was clearly stronger than her, so she needed to be smart about this. Taking her right hand and making a fist, she punched the top of the Quaffle popping it from under his grasp. She rocketed downwards tucking the ball under her arm as she used her whole body to flip upside down heading in the opposite direction, away from the Gryffindor goals. She could feel him hot on her heels as she reached the Slytherin goals faking a toss to the left and going for the one on the right. Confusing the Slytherin keeper and successfully scoring for her team.

Then she heard it from the speakers "He's got the Snitch! Harry Potter receives 150 points for catching the Snitch!"

After the game Katie was walking towards the Gryffindor wing. Rounding a corner and spotted Marcus with a despondent look on his face. Ignoring him she held her head high and attempted to pass him. Moving too fast for her to respond, he intentionally knocked into her, just enough to make her stumble. "Whoa there." He said with a chuckle.

"What the fuck" she exclaimed agitated. She whirled to face him, not backing down, even though he stood a foot taller than her.

"Well maybe you should watch where you're walking." Marcus said leering at her with an eyebrow raised. She couldn't help but notice a hint of ferocity in him that made her wary.

"Like that wasn't on purpose."She said sarcastically letting out an audible groan.

He took a long look at her and she tightened her arms around her Quidditch bag and broom. Ignoring her comment he changed the subject. "I see Wood needs to recruit people from other schools just to beat us, I mean last year was pretty embarrassing for Gryffindor."

Her sense of grievance had overwhelmed her sense of self-preservation. "Pretty sad that even though you cheated you still couldn't win." She should have been afraid; he was bigger and stronger than she was.

"Someone's knickers are in a twist," He said with a grin as if unbothered.

Her only reply was to raise her right hand making an unmistakable one fingered gesture before walking off.

Just before Christmas break Katie found herself seated with her normal group at the Gryffindor table, Angelina was telling a story about her Christmas the year before. Yet Katie couldn't help but zone out after she finished her meal.

Katie loved this time of year, marveling at all the Christmas decorations in the hall. They had been up for a few days now, but Katie loved them all the same.

She spotted Marcus across the room, Daphne Greengrass a girl a year younger than her was hovering at his side. Daphne slid a present wrapped in a shiny green shade across to him. She was a petite girl, with a bobby pin holding back her platinum blond hair that fell just above her shoulders. Marcus finally unwrapped it and pulled a green sweater from the box.

"You're creeping" Angelina shook Katie from her thoughts clearly noticing where her attention had been.

Startled Katie met eyes with Angelina. "I am not. Simply observing how wildlife court." Katie huffed crossing her arms in frustration, which got a snort from Angelina.

"Katie Bell, I will not and do not want to talk about Marcus Flint until after the holidays. We should be having fun not sulking" Alicia scolded her. Katie sighed and nodded her head promising to behave.

The following morning Katie made her way down the corridor, shocked to see Marcus round the corner at a fast speed, with a look of panic on his face. He briefly bumped into her causing Katie to stumble back. Why was he always knocking into her?

"What the fuck..." before she could finish Marcus covered her mouth with his right palm. With his other hand he reached behind her and opened a door. All but dragging her in. They stood in an empty classroom; with his left hand he pressed his index finger to his lips shushing her.

A/N To all of my previous readers I am so sorry to do this to you, but I'm restarting my story. I felt like I lost the plot midway through and I couldn't continue unless I fixed some plot holes. So elements of the story will change and some will be the same. Almost all conversations have been reworded. I hope you guys enjoy.
