I have to say that learning martial arts from the masters of Ryouzanpaku isn't fun or easy. Given my previous body structuring from working out with Wolverine, the first thing that they had me do was take a turn in Akisame's stretching machine. Just like Kenichi, even though it was for a different reason, I went through the whole ordeal in one massive push. It would have taken me weeks if not months to recover from that bout of stupidity if not for Akisame's amazing medical skills. After that it had been a never-ending slog to train. I was given exactly what I asked for. Martial Arts Training. Note the capitals there. Every morning I would wake up at the same time as Miu and start doing endurance training by dragging Akisame around town on a pair of truck tires he had strapped together. Then back home for breakfast. After Miu left to meet Kenichi for school I was put into stance training. Like Kenichi I was strapped to a board with a lit brazier under my ass and two jars full of water in my hands with sickle blades attached to my arms to keep me from lowering my arms. That was expected to last an hour. Then from there were the punches. One hundred straight punches from each hand. Then another hundred palm strikes. Then add a hundred sidekicks to that, each leg. The list went on. Front kicks, low kicks, roundhouse kicks butterfly kicks.
By the time that Kenichi and Miu arrived from school I was dripping with sweat, my whole body shaking from exertion. When they arrived, I was allowed to rest while Akisame began Kenichi's training. After a fifteen-minute break I was to spar with Miu. That was depressing for two reasons. 1) I was still wiped out from practicing all day, and 2) she had been training since she could walk. But I did anyway. She tried to be nice to me at first, but I refused outright. I told her to treat me as someone trying to learn or to not spar with me. She seemed surprised but smiled in acknowledgement. After that she didn't take it easy on me again.
That went on for three days. Then Kenichi came in looking like he was going to cry. He explained what had happened in the Karate club, how he had beat some guy named Daimonji and now the captain was going to kill him. That was when I knew at what point of the story, I was in. The very beginning. On the downside there were lots of people looking for a fight. On the upside, there were plenty of fights to get into. I decided that I was going to help with the Ragnarok problem, or at least take advantage of it. But before that I was going to train.

"Akisame-Sensei I have a question for you." I said talking to my main teacher of a little over a week now.
The man paused from strapping me to his tire harness. "Yes, what can I help you with?"
"I wanted your opinion on when I should start looking for opponents to test myself against." I told him honestly. "There are lots of people around here that are possible to fight, and I want to see how my training is advancing. However, I want your opinion as to whether I'm ready for that yet."
Akisame didn't speak for a moment, he merely studied me intently. Then he spoke. "You could go fight now, that doesn't mean you would be able to beat whomever you came across."
"I know that." I said with a self-deprecating laugh. "I've only had a week of dedicated training. But I want to feel my blood pumping again. Plus, a good fight, win or lose seems like it'd be a good way to refocus my training."
"Hm." He sounded thoughtfully rubbing his chin and watching me closely, before saying. "Tell me Dakota, why do you want to fight? Is it to crush your opponent?"
I grinned widely. "No." I admitted. "I'm not interested in just hurting people. I honestly have too much empathy for that to ever be the case. But there are plenty of people around who just want a good fight. Why should I feel hesitant to give them that. I'm an adrenaline junky. So getting a good fight would be the same for me as skydiving or driving at insane speeds."
Akisame smiled approvingly. "Well then I would suggest going out and finding a dojo to challenge or some of Kenichi's bullies to rumble with." Then he laughed heartily. "Maybe you can take up the roll of wandering punk and fights will crawl out of the woodwork looking for you."
"Good idea sensei." I said excitedly thinking of the prospect.
"But for now." Akisame said finishing the straps on the tire harness. "TRAINING!" Even though I knew this was going to hurt when I was done, I couldn't help but smirk in anticipation as I began to run.

I decided to go looking for a fight shortly after Kenichi and Miu arrived from school. I took the time to shower and got dressed in my female workout clothes. So black and pink yoga pants, a matching sports bra and a pair of matching Nike trainers. I must admit the looks I received as I left the dojo were funny. I also had on the holographic emitter that Charles gave me so that my ears and tail were hidden. Then I set out. I instantly realized that I had a problem. I hadn't thought about the fact that I was in Japan really hard, mostly because all the Masters as well as Miu were fluent in English. I however could not speak Japanese. I sat down on a handy bench and thought about this problem for a few minutes before hanging my head. It was a waste of time to be out here looking for a fight when I'm not even able to speak. Damn it. Now I have to go back to the dojo for my walk of shame. With a very put upon sigh I got back up and walked back to Ryouzanpaku. As soon as I was back, I went to my room to think about how to rectify this problem. I need to learn Japanese. It was just a fact. Truthfully I needed a universal translator, but that isn't exactly possible right now. Firstly, it can't be any of the various forms of technology that I can think of from a translator chip from Mass effect to a universal database from who knows where. No I need to stick to magic. And when it comes right down to it there are two ways to do magic. Quick and dirty or slow and clean. Now I could think of two things right off the top of my head. Both were from the branching versions of the 'Harry Potter' parts of the Multiverse. One was called a Language Lozenge. The other was called Occlumency. The lozenges from what I remember will let you gain the knowledge of a natural speaker of the language at the cost of a migraine for no telling how long. Occlumency however was a way to both protect your mind as well as basically turn your memory into a storage device capable of perfect recall. I snorted at that thought. People in my old world had been debating that for years. Saying that wasn't canon it was just fanfiction. But see this whole thing was like some Self-insert bullshit. Hell there was probably a version of me somewhere in the multiverse typing this into my computer as I thought it. Fuck now my head hurts.
ANYWAY, I could swipe one of those Language Lozenges and I'd be golden. On the other hand, for Occlumency I'd likely need a teacher. Decisions decisions. I remembered, vaguely, the Lozenges came in a box of thirty, I think. Just thinking about that made my headache worse. Yeah, that line of thought was a waste of time. There was no way that I could grab them, I had no idea about how to go about getting them. My knowledge was just too vague. I couldn't even remember what story I saw them in. So it seemed quick and dirty was out. And doing it the hard way required a teacher. And for me to get a teacher means that, first I'd need to get the masters' permission to bring someone to the dojo. There was also the fact that I couldn't just grab some random person from the Multiverse. I highly doubt they would appreciate being pulled from their homes to here. Of course there were a few I could think of that were in or about to be in some really fucked up situations. Hm before I think about that to hard I need to talk to the Masters.

I managed to bring all the masters together after Kenichi went home for the night. I looked at them with a cross between a pout and a scowl.
"As I'm sure you all already knew I can't speak Japanese." I said with a growl. I tried my best to ignore the snickers I heard. "However, I might have a way to work that out. It would require me to bring someone here. I was hoping to get your permission for that."
"And who is this person you wish to bring here?" Hayato asked thoughtfully. 'Ever the grandmaster.' I thought to myself with a smirk.
"She is a young immortal witch." I told them honestly. "Her name is Harriet Potter. And the reason I picked her is because she is about to be in a very messed up situation. With my power I can pull her out of the world she's in. In doing so it would keep her from becoming a baby factory to a group of monsters."
The silence was deafening. I was totally glad that I had insisted that Miu not be part of this talk. It was one thing to read about something fucked up. It was just words on a screen. It wasn't real. But to realize that somewhere in the multiverse every bad thing you could ever imagine was happening right at this moment. It would turn your stomach. There was nothing Safe Sane or Consensual in the young immortal's future. "I would like to request that she be allowed to stay here." I said with a nervous swallow. "I admit that I'm going to find a way to bring her out of there, but I would like your permission to bring her here."
"I am going to assume you mean that in a very literal sense." Akisame said sternly. "Because that isn't something to joke about."
"I'm not joking." I told him as seriously. "I admit I have a very dark sense of humor. But I wouldn't joke about this, well actually I might if I didn't know it was actually going to happen. See here's the fucked-up thing. Ven if I save her it will only cause a split. The result will be two timelines. One where I saved her." And here I stopped to look off to the side in fury. "And one where I didn't."
The already deafening silence became stifling. "So, you mean to say that whether you intervene or not it will still happen?" This came from Kensi looking on stonily. I nodded sullenly.
"In the Omniverse there are lots of different kinds. But what I'm talking about right now is a splitting timeline. Every time a choice is made the timeline splits. For instance, when you come to a fork in the road. You take the right path. The timeline splits into two. Because in an alternate line you take the left path instead. So even if I go save her the timeline will split and there will be a version where I didn't save her."
"So in this case you will be saving a young woman but failing another." Hayato said with a tone of sympathetic understanding.
"That's the way of the Multiverse." I said with a resigned sign. "I will never be able to save everyone. It's just not possible. For every time I do there is a split where I don't."
"Very well." Hayato said after a brief but thoughtful silence. "Please bring her here."
I nodded at his demand. Closing my eyes, I thought back to when I read the story. It was a story that I'm pleased to say I never saw the end of. But I know the start. Harriet Potter was in the woods collecting mushrooms. She was a young Immortal. One hundred and seventeen years old. Black wavy curls down to her waist. Eyes that practically glowed with green light. She looked like Selena Gomez. The body of a young woman, despite her advance age. I reached out to grasp her shoulder, when I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see her wand pointed between my eyes.
"You have five seconds to explain what you just did and why." She said with the deathly calm voice of someone who has lived in war.
"I pulled you from the world you were in and brought you here." I said quickly showing my empty hand in a gesture of innocence. "And I did it for two reasons. 1) it was to keep you from becoming a baby factory for goblins. And 2) Because I was hoping that you could teach me Occlumency."
"A baby factory?" She asked with Narrowed eyes. "What do you mean by that?"
"You can use Legilimency correct?" I asked without changing my nonthreatening posture. "Use it on me to see the truth."
She gave me a hard look before nodding resolutely then looking into my eyes. I honestly didn't feel a thing. But she watched my memories, not all of which I was happy to show anyone else. I watched the emotions play across her face before she looked away from my eyes.
"I see what you mean, and I thank you for pulling me from that fate." she said with a small frown. "But I'm sorry to tell you that you haven't got any magic. So, I won't be able to teach you Occlumency."
That gave me pause. No magic huh? Then the best thing to do in that situation would be to get some, wouldn't it? I closed my eyes. I reached out and grabbed a chest. It was a deep red wood, with green metal. And inside it was the best thing in the world. Life Crystals, Life Fruits, and Mana Crystals. I pulled out one of the few hundred mana crystals inside. This chest is one of my storage chests from my Terraria character. It had over five thousand mana crystals in it, not nearly as many life fruits, or life crystals. Stars fell every night in Terraria, so Mana crystals are easy to get. Life Crystals have to be mined, and Life Fruits are a hard mode item that can only be Harvested in the Jungle biome. It was much more work to get the life items, than the magic ones. After pulling the mana crystal out I looked at it for a moment before grimacing. Me and my best friend had discussed this multiple times, how they were supposed to work. We came to the idea that it was like opening your circuits from the Nasu verse you swallow it. So that's what I did. I swallowed it and reached for another one. In Terraria you can only have two hundred mana in your mana pool. So that's what I was going for. Each crystal was a permanent boost of twenty to your mana pool. I swallowed ten of them. The look on Harriet Potter's face as Magic swelled in my body was hilarious. The masters all had looks of confusion and concern.
"Wha-HOW DID YOU DO THAT?! What did you just do?" Harriet shriek in utter confusion.
"These crystals." I said holding one out to her. "This chest is from another world. In that world stars fall all the time. Not Meteors, those fall too, but stars. Which is just mana given form. In that world you can collect them and sort of fuse them together to make the mana crystals. The life crystals," I said holding up one of them next. "Are concentrated life force that crystalizes naturally. You have to mine them. And finally the Life Fruits are infused with life energy as they grow, I think." I told everyone holding up the little gold colored fruits. "They aren't nearly as effective as the life crystals though."
I said that as I popped one of the small red crystals into my mouth. I could feel the rush of energy. God it felt like the strongest adrenaline rush of my life. I quickly swallowed over a dozen of them. The raw life energy pumping through my body was a high like I'd never had in my past life. Speeding or free diving, sky diving. None of it. This time everyone was looking at me astounded.
"You all can have some of these crystals too if you want." I said looking around at them. "The rare life energy will probably give your bodies all the energy of their prime and extend your lives."
"Perhaps later." Hayato said watching on impassively stroking his beard. "For now, I think we need to decide upon upping your training."
I honestly felt a chill go down my spine at his words, but I shook it off and grinned. "I'm fine with that Gramps." I turned to Harriet. "So what do you think? Can I learn Occlumancy now?"
