CHANGE THE WORLD/V6

The scene shows Kimiko and Kagome being dragged into the well. "A giant, centipede-like form pulled me and Kagome...into the depths of the Hidden Well in the shrine." "A youth was held fast to the Sacred Tree with arrows... Inuyasha was his name, I think... An eternal spell to hold him there had been cast. But it was broken. Demons now seek to possess something known as the Sacred Jewel."

"This Sacred Jewel has appeared once aging in the era of the Warring States."

Kimiko: "Why was it inside my body? This jewel that can empower such a demon?"

Inuyasha:(steps up and crushes one of the bones with his feet threateningly) "Exactly! Which a human has no possible use for it! If you don't want to feel the pain of my claws, just give me the Jewel and get it over with!"

Kagome:(thinking in disbelief) But... But! But isn't he supposed to be the HERO?!

"Seekers of the Sacred Jewel." Inuyasha narrated.

Kaede: "Pay no heed to Inuyasha, child."

Kimiko:(thinking) "The Sacred Jewel makes monsters more powerful. Is is cursed?"

Inuyasha: I hate having to wait, and I hate the smell of you two.

Inuyasha runs towards Kimiko and Kagome. As the girls started to run and trip over a pile of bones. Inuyasha leaps and claws at Kimiko, but misses as she falls onto the ground. One strand of Kimiko's hair is sliced off.

Inuyasha:(landing, brandishing his claws) "You want me to scratch you backs?"

Kagome:(yells)" You really tried to hit us just now, didn't you?"

Villagers: Shoot him! Quickly! (fire arrows)

Inuyasha turns around and waves the arrows away. He leaps and slices off two tree trunks above the villagers. They run away before the trunks topple over. Inuyasha leaps onto a tree trunk.

Inuyasha: "Huh! Who did you people think I am? You think you can hurt me like I did that centipede?"

Villager 1: "Priestess Kaede! Perhaps that arrow sealing the spell on Inuyasha shouldn't have been removed...!"

Kaede:(irritated) "Somehow I knew that it would eventually come to this."

Kaede reaches into her clothes and takes out a rosary with black beads and animal teeth. Cut to Inuyasha still chasing Kimiko.

Inuyasha:(leaping after Kimiko and Kagome) "Prepare yourself!"

Kimiko:(still running) Prepare? For what?

Inuyasha slices at Kimiko. She trips and falls onto the ground, the Sacred Jewel landing far from her. She turns around to find that Inuyasha's attack made three long rifts in the ground, horrified.

Inuyasha: "Ha! Now it's mine!" (leaping towards the Jewel)

Kaede makes a prayer stance and the rosary she took out earlier emits light. It breaks and the beads fly toward Inuyasha. They join back into a rosary around Inuyasha's neck and stop glowing.

Inuyasha: (holding the rosary) "What the heck are these?"

Kaede: Quickly child! The word of Subjugation."

Kagome: "Huh? What?"

Kimiko crawls a little and picks up the Sacred Jewel, and runs.

Kaede: "It matter not! Your word has power to hold his spirit!"

As the girls run to the edge of a cliff and fall off. The Sacred Jewel falls out of Kimiko's grasp and rolls away from her onto a bridge. Inuyasha bursts out of some trees and leaps towards the bridge.

Inuyasha: "How can you overpower me when you can't even sit up!"

Kimiko: "A word to hold his spirit?"

Kagome: "But how would we know which one?"

Inuyasha is in midair about to land on the bridge. A full moon appears behind him, and a howling is heard. He lands on the bridge and reaches for the rolling Sacred Jewel. Kimiko notices Inuyasha's twitching ears.

Kimiko and Kagome: "Sit, boy!"

Light emits from the rosary and pulls Inuyasha's neck, making him fall flat-faced. Echoes of girls' voices 'Sit boy! Sit boy! Sit boy!' is heard throughout the valley.

Kimiko:(approaches the bridge, in disbelief) "What do you know? It worked."

Inuyasha:(gets up and tugs at the necklace furiously) "What the heck is this thing!?" (tries to take out the necklace in vain)

Kaede reaches the cliff with the villagers, overlooking Inuyasha and the girls on the bridge.

Kaede: "I'm sorry, Inuyashu, but ye do lack the power to remove it."

Inuyasha: "We'll see about that! I'd come there and finish you off, if you didn't look half dead already!"

Kaede: "The word please."

Kimiko:(holds up a finger, with one hand on her hip) Sit boy!

The rosary glows and tugs at Inuyasha. He crashes onto the planks of the bridge and falls into the water.

Kaede: "Well, shall we head home?"

Kimiko:(approaches the Sacred Jewel on the bridge, looking at the water) "That was easy. Wish I said it earlier."

~The next day~

Daytime. The villagers are rebuilding the village which was devastated during the attack of the Centipede Monster. Cut to the interior of Kaede's hut. Kaede is applying for some medicine on girls' torso, where the Sacred Jewel fell out of in the previous episode.

Kaede: Let's see... I'll apply more salve on the wound on your belly.

Kimko: (grimacing) Oww...! (looking out) "I notice you're rebuilding the houses wrecked by Mistress Centipede. What a pain."

Kaede:"Pain, yes, and just beginning. Now that the sacred Shikon no Tama is back among us, far worse than Mistress Centipede will come to claim it."

Kagome:(worried) "Worse than yesterday?"

Kaede: "And not just demons. There are humans whose hearts are more evil still. And only the Jewel has the power to make real their petty, grasping ambitions."

Kimiko: "Huh." (turns to her side) "Speaking of petty, what are you still doing here?"

Inuyasha is lying on his side some steps away from Kaede and the girls, with his back facing them defiantly.

Inuyasha: (turns his head slightly, deadpan) "I'm waitin' for the Jewel." (turns back)

Kaede: "With the beads around his neck, his threat is diminished. It is perhaps the only we can allow him so close to the Jewel."

Kimiko: "Why do you want the Jewel, anyway? It seems to me your pretty strong enough as it is." (opens her palm and look at the Sacred Jewel)

Kagome: "What powers can the Jewel give you you don't already have?".

Kaede: "Ah, but he's just half demon."

Inuyasha: (punches a fist into the floor violently, angry) "You know what? I'm sick of hearing some dried up witch I just met talk like she knows me!"

Kaede: "So ye don't remember. I thought as much. I'm younger sister to Kikyo; she who bound ye to the tree. Kaede."

Inuyasha: "You're Kaede?"

Cut to a flashback of a young Kaede holding Kikyo's arrows and standing next to her. Back to the present.

Inuyasha: "So you're the brat, huh."

Kaede: "Fifty years have passed, and I have grown old."

Inuyasha:(aloof) "And if you're this old, Kikyo must be pushin' a hundred. I'm sure I'm glad I don't have to worry about getting old. Least, not for awhile."

Kaede: "Kikyo didn't worry, either. Kikyo died."

Inuyasha listens harder.

Kaede: "It was on the same day she shot ye with the arrow." (throws some wood into the fireplace)

Inuyasha:(sarcastic) "Gee, sorry to hear it. Not like I really care or anything. One less thing for me to worry about."(scoffs and lie on his side again)

Kaede: "I wouldn't let my guard down just yet, Inuyasha. I now know that Kagome and Kimiko is the of my sister."

Kagome:(surprised) What?

Kimiko: Seriously

Kaede: "And it isn't just because ye resemble her. The Jewel of Four Souls was in your body. That alone is proof enough. It's up to ye now, Child, to take over its protection."

Cut to Kimiko's two encounters with the Centipede Monster, when she repelled it with an aura.

Kaede:(voice-over) But the fact that you carried the Jewel within yourself, that is irrefutable proof.

Cut to Kagome and Kimiko walking along a pathway in the village, looking at the Sacred Jewel, which is attached to a necklace around Kimiko's neck.

Kaede: (voice-over) You must protect the Sacred Jewel, Kimiko.

Kimiko:(thinking) Me? Protecting this? (to herself) "Who am I kidding?"

Kagome: Yeah, I wondering how you going to?

Pan to some villagers on top of a mound, overlooking Kimiko and Kagome.

1st Male Villager: "They're the reincarnation of who?"

2nd Male Villager:"You gotta admit there's something otherworldly about them."

Female Villager: "But who?"

3rd Male Villager: They're saying that those girls there is really Kikyo."

4th Male Villager: That's Lady Kikyo for those who respect her!"

5th Male Villager: "I knew it was Lady Kikyo all along. Lady Kikyo's come back just as she left."

Kimiko and Kagome takes therir gaze off the Sacred Jewel and turns around to find all the villagers on the mound clasping their hands and praying in reverence to them.

Kagome:(shocked)"We need gotta get out of here."

Kimiko: Creepy!

As they runs off hurriedly

Cut to Inuyasha sitting on a tree branch high up in a tree, some distance away from the village.

Inuyasha: (looks into the distance, pensive) "She died. And I never knew. Huh?"

A pear suddenly appears and flies ominously at Inuyasha's back. He grabs it nonchalantly and looks at it. Kimiko and Kagome appears at the bottom of the tree, carrying a few bundles.

Kagome: "Hey. Don't you wanna eat?"

Inuyasha: "Where'd you get all that stuff from?"

Kimiko:"The villagers gave it to us. Why not come down here and help us eat it?"

Cut to awhile later, Kimiko, Kagome and Inuyasha sitting at the base of the tree, near the rice fields. Kagome is munching away a pear and Kimiko eating a apple, and Inuyasha eyes them suspiciously.

Inuyasha: "Whatever you're up to, I ain't buyin' it."

Kimiko:(continues eating and looking into the distance) "Buying what? Listen, it's fair to say you don't like us, right."

Inuyasha: (dramatically) "Way more than fair."

Inuyasha throws down his food and leaps onto the tree branch spitefully.

Kagome: Whatever. It's not even me you dislike, it's this Kikyo person. We're not Kikyo, okay? I'm Kagome and she is Kimiko Can't we just call a truce?"

Inuyasah: Ha! I knew it! What you don't get is that I'm only after the Jewel! You're just tryin' to lure me into a false sense of security! (points a finger at Kagome and Kimiko threateningly)

Kimiko: "Oh really. That's funny, considering all I have to do to make you obey is say the word 'sit.'"

Inuyasha crashes face-down violently onto the ground.

Kimiko: "Woops. Sorry about that."

Inuyasha:(pries his face off the ground) "Aw man."

Nighttime in the village. Kagome and Kimiko is lying on the floor of a hut, about to sleep.

Kagome: It's been two days since I arrived here. (flashes of girls' family) Gramps. Sota... Mom... They must be so worried. We've gotta find a way to get back home. (pulls her blanket and sleeps)

Outside, a flock of crows rest on a tree. One of them glows and reveals three eyes. It zooms in on Kimiko and Kagome's hut and notices the Sacred Jewel on Kimiko's neck. Inuyasha appears suddenly and claws at the crows. They fly off and escape into the night sky.

Inuyasha: "Great. They've followed the scent of the Jewel. Nasty vermin..."

Daytime, Kagome and Kimiko is walking away from the village into the forest.

Kimiko:(thinking) 'The Inuyasha Forest... The Dry Well... I climbed out of there, so shouldn't it have a clue about how to get home?'

At the village, Kagome and Kimiko is walking around.

Kaede: "Kagome and Kimiko...? Kagome and Kimiko...!"

Three villagers come up to Kaede.

Yukichi: We looked everywhere but they're not here.".

Kaede: "Could it be they're gone off on her own? We spoke of those who seek the Sacred Jewel, yet we spoke not nearly enough."

Pan to Inuyasha standing on a roof, listening to the conversation, looking pensive.

Kimio: (thinking) 'The Inuyasha Forest... The Dry Well... we climbed out of there, so shouldn't it have a clue about how to get home?'

At the village, Kaede is walking around.

Kaede: "Kagome, Kimiko...? Kagome, Kimiko...!"

Three villagers come up to Kaede.

Yukichi: "hey're nowhere to be found in the village."

Kaede: "They couldn't have left the village alone...? I ought to have explained to them in more detail about the evil ones who seek the Sacred Jewel."

Pan to Inuyasha standing on a roof, listening to the conversation, looking pensive.

Cut to Kagome and Kimiko walking in the forest. A few mercenaries appear among the bushes and follow her. Kimiko and Kagome reach the Dry Well.

Kagome: "Found it! The Dry Well we came out of."

Kimiko: "Yeah, maybe it can help."

The mercenaries pounce on them, cover their mouth and grab them.

Cut to outside of a dilapidated hut. A few horses are grazing. Cut to interior of hut, where one of the mercenaries pin Kagome and Kimiko onto the floor.

Kimiko: "Oww!"

Bandit A: "Boss! I captured them just like you ordered!"

Bandit B: "They really has some strange clothes on. What's this flimsy wrap-around?" (feels and lift Kagome and Kimiko's skirt)

Kimiko: (shoots up and yells) "Cut it out, you pervert!"

Kagome: "You could rip it."

Bandit C: "Well, you asked for it! Exposing yourself like that!"

Bandit A: "You wanna marry me?"

Kimiko:"Wh-Who are you guys?"

Boss:(slow and monotonous voice) "Give me the Jewel!"

The boss of the mercenaries, a fat and big man, trudges slowly towards girls. He unsheathes his sword. Two mercenaries grab Kimiko's arms.

Kimiko:Hey, wait!

Bandit C: :"Hey Boss! Slice 'er in half in one swift stroke."

Kimiko:"Let me go!'

Bandit C: "Start praying!"

The boss slices at Mercenary 3 instead. Everyone gapes at the boss in fear.

Bandit C: "B-Boss!" (collapses onto the ground)

Boss:"Made a mistake..."

The boss readies for another attack. The mercenaries run from him in fear. The boss swings his sword clumsily several times, but the mercenaries manage to dodge.

Bandit A:" Boss, where are you aiming?! It's her! Aren't you gonna slay this girl?!" (pushes Kimiko towards the Boss)

Kimiko: "What are you doing?! There's something wrong with your boss!"(slaps away their hands)

Kagome: "Snap out of it or it'll be your turn next. Don't you get it?!"

The boss swings his sword at them, they squat and dodge. They flee in different directions.

Kimiko: (thinking while running) 'No! Will somebody tell me why is it that me, who hasn't done a thing has to go through this?!'

Cut to Inuyasha leaping across a pond in the forest. He leaps onto a tree branch and sniffs the air.

Inuyasha:"Oh, great. That stupid girl! Where'd she go with the Jewel?!"

Cut to the mercenaries' hideout. The boss is still swinging violently, but clumsily at various things and directions. He hits one of the pillars and the roof starts to collapse. One of the mercenaries is trapped under the rubble. Kimiko and Kagome runs towards him with a few other mercenaries

Kagome:"Are you all right?!"

Mercenary 4: "The exit is blocked!"

Kimiko:"Can you stand?" (helps the mercenary out from the rubble)

Mercenary 5: "Thank you very much. Thank you."

Boss:"The Jewel... Give me the Sacred Jewel..."

Kimiko:(thinking) 'He wants this Jewel. If I get rid of it, he won't come after me.'

CUT TO FLASHBACK of conversation between Kaede and Kimiko earlier in the episode.

Kaede:"And not just demons but also humans, who have evil in their hearts. All will come seeking the Jewel."

Fade to present.

Kimiko:'But why me?!' (thinking while moving away from the boss) "Anyway, I have to get out of here!"

Kimiko and Kagome carries the injured mercenary and takes a few steps sideways. The mercenaries hide behind them. When she moves a few steps more, they tumble behind them too.

Kimiko:"Hey-y-y!"

Mercenaries: (laughs uneasily) "Heheh..."

The boss attacks the group but misses and crashes into the wall. Kimiko passes the injured mercenary to the rest.

Kagome:"I know! Take him!"

Kimiko takes the Sacred Jewel from the necklace and throws it out of a window.

Boss:"The Jewel... The Sacred Jewel!"

Kimiko:(to the mercenaries) "Now! Let's all push against the wall!"

Mercenary 6: (pushes the wall with other mercenaries, but it doesn't budge) "Boss! It's no good!"

Kimiko:"I am not your boss!"

The boss closes in on Kimiko and swings his sword at Kimiko. Kimiko closes her eyes and makes a prayer stance helplessly. Suddenly, Inuyasha crashes in from one of the walls and blocks the sword, breaking it into two.

Kagome:(hopeful, thinking) "Inuyasha!"

Inuyasha punches the boss in the face several times and he falls backwards onto the ground. The mercenaries run past him and Kimiko, escaping through the hole in the wall that INU burst out of.

Mercenary 6:" Boss, we're going ahead."

Mercenary 5:" Thanks again!" (leaves with the rest)

Kagome:(to Inuyasha) "You came to rescue us?"

Inuyasha: "Is it safe? The Sacred Jewel!"

Kimiko: (gapes) "Eh?"

Inuyasha:(furious) "I'm asking you if the Sacred Jewel is safe!"

Kimiko laughs uneasily. The boss trudges towards them. Kimiko hides behind Inuyasha.

Inuyasha:(covering his nose with a shirt sleeve) "What's that smell?! That putrid smell!"

One of the buckle on the boss' clothes comes off, revealing a hole in his chest. Three eyes peer out of the hole and caws. It is the crow from last night in the village.

Kagome:"What?!"

Inuyasha:"His heart must've been torn apart a couple of nights ago. Then it nested there."

Kimiko:"He was being manipulated? I thought something was strange about him."

Inuyasha: "Corpse Crows aren't too strong. They use dead bodies to fight."(kicks the ground and aims for the crow) "Disgusting!"

Inuyasha plunges his hand into the chest of the boss, where the crow is. The crow escapes from the hole in the boss's back. Inuyasha takes out his hand and goes to the side. The boss falls towards the ground, his flesh disintegrating at the same time. The Corpse Crow flies out of the window.

Kagome:"It got away! Aren't you going after it?"

Inuyasha: (flexing his arms)"I can't go after every stupid demon. There's only one of me, after all."

Kimiko:"But...!"

Inuyasha: (fierce and firm tone) "Forget it! I'm the one doing the fighting!"

Cut to outside, the Corpse Crow picks up the Sacred Jewel with its beak. Cut to interior.

INU: "So I decide! Now what about the Sacred Jewel?" (notices the crow from the window) "Ahh! Is that the Jewel in its beak?!" (to Kimiko) "Why, you...!"

Kagome:(defensive) Kimi never said anything about having it on her.

Inuyasha:Follow me!

Inuyasha crashes out of the hut, grabbing onto Kimiko and Kagome's hands. He stops and notices a quiver of arrows and a bow on the horses parked outside. He takes the bow and arrow and leaps into the air, piggy-backing Kagome.

Inuyasha:"No way it's gettin' away!"

Cut to Inuyasha leaping in the air, chasing the crow.

Inuyasha:"What're you doing?! Hurry and shoot that thing down!"

Kimiko:"Are you crazy?! I've never used a bow and arrow in my life!"

Inuyasha:"The Corpse Crow survives by eating human flesh! With the Sacred Jewel, it might transform!"

The crow swallows the Sacred Jewel.

Kimiko:(gasps) "It just swallowed the Jewel! (resolute) I'll try it!"

Inuyasha:"All right! (thinking) Heh! Once that crow is shot down, I won't need a girl like her. (to Kimiko) Make it one shot! Kikyo was a master archer!" (leaps into the air)

Kimiko:"I am Kimiko! (thinking) But if it's okay, Kikyo, please lend me your power... (yells) Hit it!"

Cut to a majestic view of KAG firing an arrow. It misses the crow by a long way off. INU, shocked, falls onto the ground.

Kimiko:"Erm... You're not lying about Kikyo being a master archer, are you?"

Inuyasha:(exasperated) "Then you must be a klutz!"

The crow transforms.

INU:"Look, now it's gettin' bigger!"

Inuyasha gets up and runs after the crow, piggybacking Kimiko.

Inuyasha:"Aim!"

Kimiko fires another arrow. It misses the crow pathetically. Inuyasha stops suddenly and plops Kimiko onto the ground.

Kimiko:"Oww!"

Inuyasha:(turns around and points at Kimiko, yelling) "Now I get it! (shakes his finger at Kimiko) NO WAY you're Kikyo incarnated! Now I know not to expect nothin'!" (runs off)

Kimiko:"Inuyasha!"

The Corpse Crow flies over a river in the village. Several villagers are walking on a bridge spanning across the river, including a woman with her toddler. The Crow swipes the toddler and flies off with him in its claws.

Woman: "My son!"

Inuyasha:(running on top on the trees on the bank on the river) "Looking for food already? Well, you'd better think about running away from me first! You can't hunt if you're bein' hunted!"

Kagome:(reaches the bridge and shouts) "No! Save the child!"

Inuyasha:"Stupid! (leaps towards the crow) Iron Reaver, Soul Stealer!"

Inuyasha claws at the Crow and the Crow's body is clawed into pieces, which fall into the river together with the toddler. The toddler is struggling desperately in the rapid river, but Inuyasha is only concerned with the Jewel.

Inuyasha:"Where is it? (landing on a rock in the river) Where's the Sacred Jewel!"

The toddler is rapidly washed away by the current. His mother and the villagers run along the riverbank, chasing the toddler.

Woman: "My son! Shokichi!'"

Kagome follows the group. She stops, takes off her socks and shoes, and dives into the river. She swims towards the toddler.

Kagome:(thinking)'I'm glad I went to swimming classes!'

Villager 1: (amazed) "How is she doin' that?!"

Villager 2: "So fast! She must be a kappa! A water-imp! First time I saw one up-close!"

Shokichi: "Help!"

Kagome:(reaches the toddler and swims backstrokes with him) "Hang on! Relax..."

Villager 2: "The kappa is swimmin' on its back! IMPossible!"

Kagome:"I'll kappa you, you stupid—"

Inuyasha:"Hey girl! Where's the Sacred Jewel?!"

Kagome reaches the riverbank and gets out of the water. The toddler runs towards his mother.

Woman: (hugging)"Shokichi!"

Shokichi: "Ma! I was so scared!"

Kimiko and Kagome glares at Inuyasha and turns away, indignant with a loud 'Hmph!'.

Inuyasha:(taken aback) "Wh-What?!"

Shokichi: Thanks, sister!

Woman: "Thank you so much. Thank you!"

Kagome:"It's okay, really."

Underwater, the pieces of the Crow joins back and flies out of the surface into the air.

INU:"Damn! (yells to Kimiko) It's gettin' away!"

KAG:(to herself) "I guess this is no time to be fighting."

The Crow's claw, still on the toddler's back, tugs at him. Shokichi gasps in terror.

Kimiko:"That's right! (to a villager) May I use your bow and arrow?"

Villager 3: "Huh? But it's so far away..."

The silhouette of the crow is far off in the distance.

Inuyasha:"No way she can get it."

Kimiko:"This time, for sure... I'll get it!" (fires an arrow with the claws of the Crow on it)

Inuyasha:"She attached the foot of the Corpse Crow...!"

Kimiko:(thinking) 'The crow's foot will be drawn by the power of the Sacred Jewel.'

The arrow hits the Crow, shattering it into pieces. The Sacred Jewel in the Crow's body shatters into tiny pieces, emitting a bright light.

Kimiko:"I did it!"

Inuyasha:(disbelief) "She got it...?"

Kimiko:''But...what's that light?"

The light from the Sacred Jewel suddenly disperse in many directions.

Yukichi:"Priestess Kaede... Up in the sky!"

Kaede:"I've got a bad feeling about this..."

Fade to evening in the forest. Inuyasha, Kagomr and Kimiko are searching the area.

Inuyasha: "Are you sure it's around here?"

Kagome: "Yeah... I feel it... But I wonder what it was... that light?"

The head of the Corpse Crow appears suddenly and caws at them, flying in Kimiko's direction. Inuyasha rushes in front of Kimiko and claws at the head.

Inuyasha:"Die!"

A glowing fragment falls out of the crow and lands on the ground.

Kimiko:"Could this be...?"

Inuyasha:"Could this be"...what?"

Kimiko:(picks up the fragment) "A fragment of the Sacred Jewel...?"

Flashback of earlier on, when Kimiko's arrow shattered both the Corpse Crow and the Sacred Jewel.

Inuyasha: (voice-over, yelling) "Wh... What did you say?!"
