Superman descended down to the island of the Blades, flying around until he noticed the presence of people in the courtyard of our, when he finally saw a group of five humanoid figures, but also much more. The humanoid figures were myself and a young girl around 8 years old with dark blue eyes and pink hair, that reached her shoulders, before being separated into two long pigtails, wearing a dark blue and black digital patterned tank top with long gloves taking the place of sleeves, connected only to her middle finger, similarly colored shorts with a black, tattered waist that went down slightly past her knees and she wore black combat boots. This was the daughter of Lightning and myself, Zia. Then the next three were three of my children he was familiar with: Seri, Nash and Nasai.

However, what shocked the man of steel was the next four figures he saw. The first was a massive snake creature with bright green skin adorned with large orange-yellow plates on its back and tail. It had a long serpentine body with small though fully functional fore- and hind-limbs. The creature also had a large beak-like mouth similar to that of a parrot, along with a small pair of tusks. This creature was the Twisting Snake Wyvern, the powerful, yet cunning Najarala.

The next was a large monster similar to a theropod dinosaur, with dark red scales covering its body. Two rows of blue, bony plates ran along its back, going from the eyes to the tail. Its underside was more of a cream color. The main feature of the creature's physiology was its huge tail that was literally a massive metal sword. Its hind legs were powerful and muscular, while its front legs were much smaller and appeared useless. The face and jaws were covered in sturdy plating, particularly resembling a Carnotaurus' head, though the arms and proportions were similar to a Tyrannosaurus. This was the Cutting Wyvern, the mighty Glavenus.

The third was is a large, quadrupedal monster that was superficially shark-like in appearance, with a long, pointed snout and a mouth filled with multiple rows of sharp teeth. It also appeared to have frog-like limbs with blue skin on the top and grey on the bottom, with yellow fins. This mighty beast was known as the Monster Shark, the terrifying and devastating Zamtrios.

The last monster was the smallest, but at the same time seemed like the most fearsome. It was a quadrupedal with an also crocodile head/face with a mouthful of menacing fangs. The beast was covered in scales on its body that resembled muscle tissue that were light grey on the body, then became jet black towards the legs and head. It also had equally jet black bony protrusions on its back. These protrusions led all the way to the tail, which changed from black to dark blue and was particularly bony, which could likely be used as a club. It's most distinctive feature was its double row of claws, which had a blood red coloration and were visibly serrated. It also had glowing red eyes and black smoke emitted from its mouth. This was the Wicked Claw Wyvern, the menacing Ebony Odogaron.

I was standing about 20 feet back while my children stood before the mighty beasts, about 10 feet between them. "What do you think you're doing?" Superman demanded as he floated down from the sky.

I sighed and turned to face him. "First of all, you need to start calling ahead before you come here. Second, don't take that tone with me again. You're an uninvited, borderline unwelcome guest here. One wrong word and you turn into a trespasser in a place full of demons just as strong as you with magic that can harm you. And third, what's the matter with you? Don't you know anything about animals? You don't raise your voice around animals, that makes them nervous and on edge, they think they're being threatened. And the last thing you want to do to a bunch of dragons is threaten them." I told him.

"And why exactly are your children in front of them?" Superman asked.

"They're about at that age, they ought to have themselves a pet. Their sisters already have a leopon and jaglion. About time they had something." I told him, leaving him somewhat dumbfounded. "Alright, kids. Pick the one you want." I told them.

"I call the Zamtrios!" Seri declared, dashing over and hugging the shark-frog.

"The Glavenus is all mine." Zia said, walking up to the creature as it looked down at her, holding its lower jaw and pressing her forehead against its snout.

"I SO got the Najarala!" Nasai shouted, quickly jumping onto the snake monster's back.

"That's fine. The Odogaron looks way more like a demon, anyway." Nash said, clapping for the last monster to come to him, which it did, bowling him over and showering him with affection like an actual dog would.

"Thanks, dad!" They all said happily.

"Anything for you, kids. Now, go play with your new pets, I've got to deal with an overgrown boy scout." I said, turning towards Superman as my kids ran off with their monsters.

"You never considered a dog? Even your other kids had big cats that could tear a man to shreds." Superman said.

"Dude, they're eight. They don't have full control of their strength yet. They can't be trusted with their own dogs. I didn't have my own dog until I was sixteen. I had good, old Hookfang before that." I said, thinking of my dearly departed Rathalos.

"Well, if nothing else, it's touching how far you'll go to make your children happy. So, what did you call me here for, then?" Superman asked.

"Right. Well, it turns out, Deathstroke revealing himself was a blessing in disguise. By tracking him, we were able to figure out where they're getting the demons from. Do you recall when we first started working together that you showed up just as I was being attacked by an assassin?" I reminded him.

"I remember you killing someone who was running away from you, assassin or not." Superman said judgingly.

I rolled my eyes at this. "He came to my home and tried to kill me and my family. There are very few places on the planet where killing him wouldn't be justified. And my family literally owns these islands, so we're basically the acting government on them and decided the rules." I reminded him. I then sighed at this. "But I digress. It's not just a handful of psychos. They're an extensive group of self-righteous zealots that think they're doing the work of god and eliminating all they see as a threat." I said ominously.

"Who are they?" Superman asked.

"Republicans." I told him, before laughing. "No, I'm kidding... They're not that evil." I said.

"Jokes! These are jokes! Do not take them seriously!" Draco yelled from the distance.

"They call themselves the Purest Souls, a bunch of nut jobs that think all demons are evil monsters looking to steal people's souls. Honestly, I'm surprised they haven't tried going after your teammate Etrigan yet. They've managed to kidnap a number of demons, which is how they've figured out our weaknesses and made weapons they can use against us. And they've also convinced themselves that anyone working with demons must have been possessed or corrupted and so they'd have to be freed from the demons' control, by any means necessary, so if you're seen associating with us, you've likely been made into a target, which is why Deathstroke had to be warned about them in case they come after him. But, he must have turned around and searched them out to get demons from them to supply to Luthor." I explained.

"And you didn't think to warn us when we started working together?" Superman asked.

"Actually, I just assumed you guys were probably the one group they WOULDN'T screw with or risk making their enemies." I told him.

"So, we stop them, we stop the demons, right?" Superman questioned again.

"Not quite. The demons they usually manage to kidnap are ones that have been living on Earth for a while in human forms, but they'd managed to detect through some subtle means. Any SLIGHT mistake that could call their human personas into question. This doesn't happen nearly often enough for Deathstroke and Luthor to get an entire supply chain off of them. So they must have secured enough demons that Deathstroke could have taken so many of them for Luthor to have gotten the demon blood around so widespread. We have to figure out exactly how." I explained one more time.

"I'm assuming you'll be leaving to take them on soon. Just give us a location and we'll send NVRmore there to assist you." Superman said.

I raised a brow at this. "You mean, the one member of your team that still COMPLETELY hates my guts? Lovely." I said.

"Which is why it's important for you two to work together and try to build an understanding and bridge the gap between the two of you." Superman pointed out.

I rolled my eyes at this. "Fine. But we're doing this my way. He better be ready for that." I told him, before leaving to prepare for the mission.

After gearing up, I left along with Kinshiro and Spirai, as well as recruiting Shane for a mission once again. Soon enough, we reached the coordinates of the Purest Souls' main base. We took a look around and saw no one. "Good. Security seems to be pretty light. And better yet, that intangible ass isn't here, either." I said.

"Glad to see we think the same way about each other." NVRmore said as he phased out from the wall of the building. "So, a cult using a Church as a base? Seems a bit on the nose, doesn't it?" He asked.

"They're a group that thinks God told them to exterminate demons. Where else would they go?" I questioned, before sighing. "And besides, it's in the middle of the woods, completely abandoned, so it's not like anyone's going to come and buy it up, so they don't have to risk losing the base. Plus, it's Sacred ground, so it naturally weakens the demons they keep trapped there." I explained.

"Then won't that hurt your siblings?" He asked.

"We've had a soak in the oceans of Hell. It strengthens us and reduces our natural weaknesses." Spirai explained.

"Yeah. The only weakness we may feel here is not being able to resist ripping the heads off these cult freaks." Kinshiro declared.

"You'd better, or else I'll tell Dr. Strange and he'll trap your whole clan in another dimension." NVRmore threatened.

"Wow. That's real heroic of you, forcing a family out of the universe they've lived in and protected their entire lives just because you don't like the way they do things. For the Justice League, you guys have a real weird understanding of the word." Shane challenged, stepping up to NVRmore.

"I don't think we've met before. So, who are you? Another psycho who thinks everyone who's ever jaywalked has to die? Or are you some random person they've manipulated into thinking killing is the only answer?" NVRmore asked.

"I'm a friend of Sai's. That's it. We're friends. Because we think in similar ways. I don't like the idea of killing. And I definitely don't think it's the only answer, but at the same time, I'm not STUPID enough to believe that throwing these supervillains away for the thousandth time is going to magically change them- or even if you don't think they can reform, I know you can't expect them to just sit there for the rest of their lives. Because they never do. They always escape and cause more death and destruction. Some of them are just too dangerous to keep alive. If you don't have what it takes to kill them, whatever, but you guys in the Justice League force your ideals on everyone else, at least with the no-killing thing. Everyone operates in different ways. Your Justice League can't tell us all how we have to be heroes." He told him.

I smiled at this. "And that's why we're friends. He's got a good head on his shoulders." said, patting Shane on the back, before looking at NVRmore. "So, if you've been here so much longer than us, what have you been doing? Did you scout out the area, or did you just try to hide everyone before we could get here and clean house?" I asked.

"I actually haven't been here too much longer than you. I did scout the area, but I didn't find anything. I actually WAS going to try and restrain them all before you got here, but you arrived right when I was doing that. So I don't know much more than you do." He admitted.

"Well, fortunately, you and Shane should have nothing to worry about, since you aren't demons." I said, looking at the Church, then to NVRmore again. "Then again, your cheating ass with the cheap-ass intangibility should be fine, anyway." I said.

"Is that pettiness or jealousy talking?" He questioned.

Spirai groaned at this. "Enough with the pissing contest, boys. Let's just get this over with." She said, walking up and kicking the doors, causing them to explode into splinters. Thanks to being demons, she and Kinshiro made their way through easily, while Shane, NVRmore and I wore night vision goggles. However, we barely made it 20 feet before something rushed out of the darkness. Spirai shot some sulfuric acid from her palm at it, causing the lower half of its body to resolve, a Riot demon dropping dead at her feet. "What the?!" She shouted, stepping back in shock.

"It's a demon. That's to be expected, right? They keep demons here." Shane asked.

"Not free to roam wherever they want. It'd be hard to experiment on a demon that could just run away." Kinshiro told him.

"Then we need to find out what happened here. And search for survivors." NVRmore said.

"We'll definitely do the first thing. The second one, not so much. Unless we're going to make them not survivors." I scoffed. And with that, we went down the path the demon came from, but quickly discovered there were many more where those had come from.

Background Music: "Breaking The Habit" by Linkin Park

Spirai quickly took point, swinging her arm in a wide arc while shooting liquid nitrogen from the palm of her hand, causing the demons to slip and slide as they rushed towards us. She then pulled out her personal weapon, Reign, basically the unholy offspring of Sephiroth's Masamune and Cloud's Buster Sword, which she simply stabbed into the ground ground, causing demons to get cleaved in half as they slid into the blade. She then pulled her weapon free and threw a splash of acid at a demon's face as it rushed her, causing it to recoil in pain and allowed her to ready her blade and decapitate him, before spinning and dropping to her knee as another demon came at her, swinging her blade again and bisecting him, the demon's upper body flying over here head, at which point she hit it with more liquid nitrogen, freezing the body so it shattered upon contact with the ground.

Shane jumped ahead of her and rushed in with a pair of Keyblades, battering a pair of demons with them and finally cutting them down. Seven more all converged on him, at which point he nimbly dodged their attacks, before realizing they'd maneuvered in a way to completely surround him, at which point, they all rushed him, ready to strike all at once. However, he had planned this in the first place and used a Reflect spell, creating a barrier and absorbing the energy of their attacks, instantly rebounding it and blasting them all away, before he fired several light beams from each Keyblade to finish odd the demons. One more tried to rush at him and attack from behind, but he simply brought his right-hand Keyblade back into its face without even looking, stunning it and allowing him to finish it with a light beam to the chest.

I was next to rush in, eager to use my ki abilities again. I surrounded my arms with ki to effectively turn them into blades, using them to slice off the arm of a demon lashing at me with its claws, causing it to roar in pain, holding the stump where its arm used to be, before I sliced the other one off. It dropped to its knees, at which point I finished it with one final slash. Another demon erupted from the shadows, throwing a devastating haymaker, but it was unable to connect, as I began to release an overwhelming amount of ki to force its fist away with Vanisher Guard, before I vaporized the demon with Evil Explosion. I then flew into the air and fired several Death Beams at around 12 more demons rushing down the hall, before one dropped down from the ceiling and onto my back, sinking its teeth into my neck. "Sneaky bastard! You earned yourself a special finish!" I snapped, releasing an explosion of Ki with Spirit Wave to get it off of me, sending it flying into a wall, before I appeared in front of it. "Hakai." I said, completely erasing it. I sighed in content at this. "I enjoyed that more than I should." I admitted.

Kinshiro repeatedly fire his eye laser to slice through demons and reveal that there were still dozens coming at us. "Damn. This ain't cutting it." He said, psychically summoning his assorted chrome weapons. He moved to the head of the group and had his weapons spin around him like a tornado of blades, demons rushing at him and getting grinded up like a blender. He then had the weapons fly around to specific places, all angled carefully in different direction, at which point he fired his eye laser again to basically light up the entire room he had moved into, the laser bouncing off all the weapons and into the next one, creating an array of lasers that filled the room, going through every angle and reducing the demons inside to a mere pile of bloody bits.

NVRmore ran forward, using his intangibility to run through the demons, turning tangible again and then slashing them with either his katana or the blades on his arm gauntlets. However, these injuries would only be serious, but not life-threatening to even a human, so these demons would of course get back up. In addition, he barely focused on the demons, going from room to room in search of any survivors. Yet everywhere he went, he was only met with corpses. "Dead... All of them. Is that all these demons know how to do is kill?!" He demanded, running out and throwing is explosive discs at a number of demons, my upgrades exploiting demonic weaknesses and finally stating to put demons down for good.

We continued fighting wave after wave of demons, each of us having taken out about a dozen. NVRmore went ahead once again to find a lab or any place that looked important, leaving the last of the demons to us. "Well, guys. Time to pull out the big guns." I said, drawing my Last Regrets revolvers. Kinshiro smirked and pulled out a pair of futuristic SMG's with three spinning barrels like a minigun, Spirai pulled out a pair of sawed-off shotguns and Shane transformed his Keyblades into pistols. A demon rushed at Spirai, only to quickly get blasted onto its back, at which point I jumped and flipped over my sister, firing the guns on my feet to put two more holes in its chest and flip me so I was upside down, allowing me to put two more holes in the demons face. Kinshiro and Shane together were able to turn three demons completely into Swiss Cheese with the combined amounts of bullets they put in them. I then blasted the next demon in the knees, taking him off his feet, but Kinshiro got under him before he could hit the ground and briefly held him in the air with the bullets he was firing. Then we all just stood together and made a wall of gunfire to finish off the last of the demons.

End Music

We had finally cleared out all the demons and found the cult's main hall, bodies of their members strewn about everywhere. "Whoa. What happened here? Did the demons do this?" Shane asked.

"Doubtful. Most of the demons we've seen so far have used claws or some weird arm blades. Those wouldn't inflict wounds like this." NVRmore said as he inspected their bodies.

"Which means someone did our jobs for us. Remind me to send thank you cards." Spirai said, making sure to step on the necks of the cult members to ensure they were dead. While NVRmore didn't like this, his goggles which give him Batman's "detective vision" showed him that they were dead already, so he couldn't really say anything.

Kinshiro looked at the wounds on their bodies. "These were made by a pretty light weapon with a curve to it, like our dear big sister's namesake." He said, looking to Shane and NVRmore. "In other words, a katana." He explained.

"I know your sister. The League and I have been working on rap sheets for all of you." NVRmore said.

"Cute you think you'll catch them." Shane laughed.

"Well, Slade isn't opposed to using a katana every now and then, but I don't see why he wouldn't stick to that usual Thundercat sword of his." I said.

"So, where did they keep the demons, then? I don't see any cages or science chambers they could have been locked in." NVRmore asked.

"There has to be some kind of lab further down. Let's move." Spirai said as we moved ahead. We made our way down a hall in the Northwest corner of the room and quickly found exactly what we were looking for: a lab full of all manner of devices that looked like they were for dissection and genetic harvesting. And it was also filled with corpses of both cult members and several more demons. "I'm guessing our mystery visitors wanted to borrow a couple of demons. Clearly, the Purists weren't on board with that. So our friends took them off the board entirely." She pointed out.

"Still doesn't explain who or what did this." Kinshiro said

"I think I found out." Shane called out. We regrouped with him and saw a dead woman dressed in ninja garb. Shane held up her sword. "Katana. And it matches the wounds inflicted on a lot of the cultists and demons." He pointed out

"Yeah, there's a few more of them back here, too." Spirai said as she and Kinshiro uncovered a couple more bodies dressed in similar garbs.

"And she has this symbol on her." Shane said, taking off some kind of metal badge and tossed it to NVRmore.

The vigilante gasped when he saw it. "The League of Assassins. Looks like Ra's wanted the real head of a demon and demon's blood." He said.

"But Deathstroke isn't a member of the League, so how did they find out about it?" I questioned.

NVRmore was about to say they'd find out, but then noticed something with his goggles. "Wait..." He said, before realizing her was picking up a heartbeat from the assassin Shane was inspecting, as well as the ones closest to Spirai and Kinshiro. "They're still alive!" He cried out.

"What?!" Shane asked, before the assassin sprang up and stabbed him with a concealed knife. And at the same moment, the two next to my siblings roused themselves as well, one stabbing at Kinshiro with a cross-shaped knife from the cultists, sinking the knife into his arm as he held it in front of his heart to save himself. Meanwhile, the other slashing Spirai's collarbone area with a light-infused blade.

"NO!" I shouted, immediately rushing Shane's attacker and impaling her with a blade of ki formed around my arm, quickly firing a Death Beam into the heads of the ones attacking my siblings.

"Wait, no!" NVRmore cried out as I killed the attackers, before becoming furious, storming up to me. "I knew you couldn't control yourself! You're nothing but murderers! After we get out of here, I'm telling the League about this, our alliance will be over and you'll go to jail-!" He shouted, before stopping as he felt a jab in the stomach, looking down to see a dart from a tranq gun in my hand, causing him to collapse.

I glared at him, before quickly turning my attention to Shane. "Come on, buddy! You're gonna be okay!" I told him, quickly working to close the wound and stop the bleeding. "Kin! Spirai! Are you fucking alright?!" I called to them.

"Bastard got lucky, but nothing that won't heal." Spirai hissed in pain, holding her neck where she was slashed, pulling her hand away as the wound slowly sealed.

"Takes more than that to put us down." Kinshiro said, quickly scanning Shane with his robotic eye. "He'll be fine. No internal organs were damaged. He just passed out from the shock and pain." He informed him.

"Some fucking good news." I said, patching up the wound. "Why'd it have to be him? Why you guys? Why is it never me? Everyone around me is always the one in danger or about to die. I'm always the last one standing. Even when I'm the easiest to finish off." I cursed under my breath.

"Hey, you've been in just as many life or death situations as the rest of us. More than I'd like to see you in, I know that much." Spirai said, before looking at NVRmore. "So, what'd you do to him?" She asked.

"A tranq dart. It's also got a memory-erasing agent. He's not gonna remember the last five minutes. He'll just assume some enemy got the drop on him." I explained.

"So, our next step is assassinating some assassins, then. Right?" Kinshiro asked.

I lifted Shane and started going towards the exit. "No. First we need to get Shane to the hospital. And then I NEED my powers back. NOW." I said as I started leaving again.

The two of them looked at each other uncertainly. "You don't think he's thinking about THAT, do you?" Kinshiro asked.

"Sai's reckless, but even he's not that crazy." Spirai said, but she didn't sound too certain, either. "Hopefully. He can't use that. Even if it makes him stronger than before, it doesn't mean anything with how much it takes from you." She said. And with that, Kinshiro grabbed NVRmore and they followed me to the exit.
