Author Notes: this is a "My Hero Academia (Boku no Hiro Akademia) fanfiction story. I claim no rights, or anything associated with this series as they are rightfully owned by Kohei Horikoshi. This is an AU story that I came up with after seeing the images of Izuku looking like a snake. Some of the abilities and attacks that Izuku will have either come from other anime/manga series (so please don't hate). The images that I will be using aren't mine as I got them from the web so all credit goes to them. Warning before I begin, it won't be exactly like the series as I did change things to make this story my own. First thing is that Katsuki Bakugo isn't a bully to Izuku as he is a true and loyal best friend, second thing is that All Might never gives his quirk to anyone nor is he injured or getting weaker, third thing is that Izuku's have a quirk will have abilities similar to that of Mina's and Asui's but very different in the way that he uses it, and fourth thing is that I will be not having some people in the story because I don't either like them or don't find them useful for this story (Yuga Aoyama, Koji Koda, Toru Hagakure, Minoru Mineta, Manga Fukidashi, and Neito Monoma). I have an idea of whom I would like to see win but I would like your guys opinion.

Chapter Ten: the sports festival – round two

After releasing the snake to its new den along with its young, Izuku turned to see that Katsuki had followed him.

"A snake? I haven't seen you use that ability in a long time. Was that the reason why you acted so reckless back there?"

"Only a part of it. Come on we should get back. I will explain later on what happened." Izuku stated as he grabbed Bakugo by the hand pulling him back towards the arena. Years ago after Izuku had transformed gaining his ability of a snake, he and Katsuki went to the zoo. That is where Izuku learned that he had the ability to speak to snakes and control them. That is when Izuku believed that the ability could be of use given the right opportunity. Both Katsuki and Izuku returned to the arena to see the last bit of the students had finally reached the arena ending the first round.

"Great job everyone. Now lets see whom moves onto the next round." announced Midnight. The screen next to her showed the thirty-six students whom would move onto the next round. All the students from both hero courses managed to get through. What surprised most of them was the one from the support course and the one from general studies whom also managed to be part of the thirty-six. "Now lets see what the next event will be..." stated Midnight as the board changed until it landed on four people doing what looked like a rider and horse situation. "It's the cavalry battle. You will have to form a group with three to four people. You will have to take the opposing teams headbands. Only five groups will advance onto the next round. Also the person whom came in first place will be worth one thousand points." announced Midnight. Everyone turned glaring at Izuku. Izuku glared back as if to say: bring it. "You will be given thirty minutes to get your teams together. Your time starts Now!"

Izuku looked around wondering whom he should form a team with. Most avoided him considering that he was competition.

"Deku!" shouted out a familiar voice. Izuku turned to see Bakugo heading over towards him.

"Kacchan?"

"Let's team up. If I am to face against you in the next round, I want you to pass this round. Who else knows your abilities like I do? I want to face against you in the one on one match ups in order to finally put to rest which one of us will become the next number one hero after All Might." stated Katsuki. Izuku smiled welcoming the challenge. Plus he knew that his and Bakugo's rivalry would never end. It began since they were children and after Izuku's powers had fully manifested.

"You're on Kacchan. Now lets assemble our team. I think that I know of the perfect people to help us out." Izuku stated as he grabbed Bakugo by the hand leading him over towards Kirishima.

"Bakubro... Midoribro...!"

"We are going to need someone else whom can withstand the explosions that you produce. Kirishima is a logical choice besides myself."

"Dude... I love the way that you think. Let's do this!" Kirishima stated producing a hardened fist. That's when Uraraka came up to the group.

"Do you guys have room for one more?" she asked shyly. Izuku's bright and cheerful smile seemed to put her at ease.

"Of course Uraraka. You are one of the people we also need on our team. Now lets go and talk about our game plan." stated Izuku.

The buzzer rang out as the team assembled wearing their headbands with their points on display. Bakugo sat on top with Kirishima up front, Izuku and Uraraka was supporting the rear. Their total points equaled to 1,510. Izuku quickly looked around gaging the competition determining whom to fight and whom to avoid. Shoto's team which was made up of Tenya, Momo, and Denki totaled 610. Then there was Mina's team which was made up of Sero, Tokoyami, and the girl from support course as their points totaled 485. Shoji's team seemed hidden within his large arms which Izuku figured had to be Jiro and Asui since he saw Sato and Ojiro with the kid from general studies. Shoji's team points totaled 405 while the kid from general studies points totaled 430. The rest of the five other teams where from class 1B (Tetsutetsu's group 605, Kendo's group 225, Bando's group 215, Pony's group 160, and Tsuburara's group 270). Even though Bakugo was the rider, the one whom was truly leading their group was Izuku. Izuku's tail was out as he was using it as a means of communicating directing Bakugo whom to go after. Bakugo knew to trust Izuku's decissions and keen insight.

"Now lets begin with the next exam as you will be given thirty minutes to eliminate the other teams and get as many points as possible. Now... Begin!" As soon as Midnight told the groups to begin, all of the teams began to charge towards Deku's group. Izuku made sure that his teammates took the special serum made that counteracts and will protect them from his poison.

"Poison Mist!" Izuku whispered beneath his breath as he let out a fine mist from his mouth. The mist coated the field as some fell prey being poisoned while others found ways to counteract the poison. Kendo's group used her enlarge hands to sweep the poison mist away from her group, Momo had created specialized gas masks, while Tsuburara's group used his solid air to protect his group, as Mina's group used the support class gadgets to blow away the mist. Shoto's group still seemed to be coming towards Izuku's group. Izuku directed his group to move and avoid Shoto's group. They went after some of the other groups in order to take their headbands while they were poisoned. Izuku's group wasn't the only one who had the same thought to go after some of the other teams. Any time that Shoto's ice came close to Izuku's group, Bakugo exploded it away as he knew what the cold does to Izuku. So far some of the other teams had been elimated.

Finally the buzzer went off announcing the end of the second round.

"That was an epic showing of both power and talent. Now lets see whom moves on to the one on one fights." announced Midnight. The board next to Midnight showed the five teams that would advance. The team that was in first place was Shoto's group with Shoto Todoroki, Tenya Iida, Momo Yaoyorozu, and Denki Kaminari. The team that was in second place was Deku's group with Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, Eijiro Kirishima, and Ochaco Uraraka. The team in third place place was Mina's group with Mina Ashido, Hanta Sero, Fumikage Tokoyami, and Mei Hatsume. The team in fourth place was Tetsutetsu's group with Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, Juzo Homenuki, Yosetsu Awase, and Ibara Shiozaki. And the team in fifth place was Shinso's group with Hitoshi Shinso, Ninengeki Shoda, Rikido Sato, and Mashirao Ojiro. Before Midnight could announce whom will fight against each other, several students wanted to drop out from the one on one fights. Juzo Honenuki and Yosetsu Awase felt that their quirks wouldn't do well in the next round. Ninengeki Shoda and Mashirao Ojiro couldn't remember how they got through the calvary battle. Midnight looked over to see Principal Nezu nod his head. "All right then. Congratulations to the remaining students whom move onto the one on one battles. Now the remaining students will draw lots to see who will face who in the one on one fights." The students went up drawing their numbers to find their placement in the next rounds. Once everyone had picked their number, the board next to Midnight changed revealing a double elimination bracket. In the first bracket was Izuku Midoriya vs Hitoshi Shinso, Shoto Todoroki vs Hanta Sero, Denki Kaminari vs Ibara Shiozaki, and Tenya Iida vs Mei Hatsume. In the second bracket was Mina Ashido vs Rikido Sato, Fumikage Tokoyami vs Momo Yaoyorozu, Eijiro Kirishimia vs Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, and Ochaco Uraraka vs Katsuki Bakugo. "You will all be given a chance to take a break and prepare for the next rounds." announced Midnight.

As the students headed back towards the break room, Mashirao Ojiro approached Izuku.

"Hey Midoriya can I speak to you for a moment?" asked Mashirao. A questioned look crossed Izuku's face but he nodded his head. Mashirao pulled him away from the others.

"What's wrong Mashirao?" Izuku asked.

"I wanted to warn you about that Shinso kid. I told Sato that he should withdraw from the next rounds seeing how I don't clearly remember anything since the calvary battle. I remember him coming up and asking me a question then the rest just turns to a crazy fog. I only broke out of it during the end of the calvary battle when someone bumped into me. I asked Sato if he remembered anything since the calvary battle. When he told me no, it confirmed that I believe that Shinso has some kind of mind control quirk. So be careful of what you say to him. I don't know the gist of how he controls people."

"I see... Thanks for the warning Mashirao." replied Izuku. 'So he has an ability similar to my Hypnotizing Snake Stare. It would be interesting to see which one is stronger. But my main concern will come if I get past Shinso as there is a strong hunch that I might have to face against Todoroki in the next round. Thank goodness I thought of to put in the request to wear my hero costume underneath the gym uniform. I got the resent upgrades done which shall keep me warm against the cold especially Todoroki's ice. I am most certain that there is a reason why Todoroki refuses to use his fire side. I just hope that I will be able to get past the one on one fights to face against Kacchan as I know that he will win against those he is up against.' Izuku thought as he went to the waiting rooms to get ready for his one on one fight with Hitoshi Shinso.
