When There's A Will, There's A Way

"Whew! That. Is. FRIGID!" Peter yelled out as he began jumping up and down to keep himself warm. Currently it was morning, Peter was able to find a place to sleep the night prior, but it wasn't some hotel or normal place to sleep. No, Peter ended up sleeping on top of a grocery store. To keep warm through the night he had made himself a web cocoon. It was weird, but while he was wrapped up in his webbing he felt almost like the world couldn't hurt him. However, the issues came when he burst out of his web shell and was met by snow and the cold air. "Oh geez, I think I feel them shooting up inside." Peter rubbed his hands together and clutched his groin to keep warm, "Okay, better get my blood flowing before I'm frozen stiff." he put on his mask and jumped off the building, shooting out a webline just before he hit the ground and began swinging. It was slow at first, sure, but he was eventually able to start doing flips and spins like he always does when swinging around. "I just hope they aren't angry that I came to pick up the others."

In Saphron's home, some were still sleeping due to their extreme last few days, but Jaune, Nora and Ren were up and at 'em already helping clean the kitchen as Ren cooked breakfast. Weiss was also already awake, albeit, barely. Her hair was down and was messy from sleeping on it, she was in her nightgown, her eyes were half open. The only thing keeping Weiss from slamming her head on the counter where she was sitting and falling back asleep was the cup of coffee she was sipping from.

Saphron was in the kitchen as well, her and Jaune were cleaning the dishes together, however, despite the silence, Ren and Nora could feel the intense tension between the two. "Jaune." Saphron started trying to start a conversation, but Jaune remained silent. "Jaune, you have to see where I'm coming from, someone who does what they want without answering to the law...that's just dangerous." she sighed, "Especially with the power he has. And that outfit! He's making himself look like a Grimm!"

Jaune slammed a handful of silverware on the counter and took a deep breath so he didn't yell, "Saph, then you need to see where we're coming from." he turned to Saphron with a serious expression, "You. Weren't. There. You don't know what he's like, what he's done. So don't act like you know him, because WE do." he frowned, "He didn't blow up the docks his enemy did. He didn't bring the Grimm in that was Roman Torchwick. He tried to save Beacon like the rest of us. Everything Spider--" Jaune stopped himself because he realized there was no point to hide his identity at this point, "Everything Peter does, he does to help people."

"Peter may have some sort of special abilities unlike our semblances, and he may be a vigilante, but he's still a huntsman through and through." Ren chimed in.

Weiss nodded, "Yeah. Peter isn't some menace to society, sure he acts out of turn at times but he isn't exactly from here. Aside from dressing up and shooting webs from his wrists he's just an ordinary teen. He listens to heavy rock and...inappropriate rap music. He loves science, is a literal genius. He even has a girlfriend. You don't have to like what he does Saphron, but the least you could see that he isn't a criminal, he is just like any of us. And, if you think about it, he's just a huntsman who doesn't take payment." Weiss crinkled her face and winked, "Just food for thought."

Saphron frowned, had she acted too hastily? All the news coverage she had seen on the vigilante seemed to praise some things he did, but overall it seemed to paint him in a bad light because his actions couldn't be regulated by the police. That was why Saphron was confused that her sister let him go. Maybe...Maybe I passed judgement too quickly. Maybe he is just a good guy and that's what Sierra saw the let him go. Saphron nearly jumped in surprise when the doorbell rang. "I'll get it." she said with a nod. Drying of her hands on her pants, Saphron walked to the entrance and opened the door to see Peter standing there, his jacket zipped down slightly to reveal just the top part of his suit and his mask off, likely in his pockets where his hands were. "Oh." the disappointment in Saphron's voice definitely wasn't lost on anyone. She know's he's just a kid compared to her, but when she sees him she can't help but only hear the negative things the Atlesian news stations say about him.

Peter held up his hands and gave an apologetic expression, "I know you probably don't want to see me, I get that. But can you at least tell everyone to meet me at the docks?" Saphron frowned, Peter clapped his hands together in a prayer motion and bowed his head, "Pretty please? At least tell Yang. If I'm not able to get any work done today I at least wanna have a good time while I'm wasting it." he laughed. Again, Saphron frowned. Peter gulped and clicked his tongue, "That was a joke." he chuckled. Saphron sighed and shut the door on him, leaving the, now, not-so-secret vigilante standing on her doormat with slumped shoulders. "Okay, I guess I'll figure out what your answer was when I get there, huh?" Peter sighed himself and kicked a rock into the road before he found a place he could hide out so he could put on his mask and begin swinging again.

Saphron leaned against her door and looked down, biting her lip. "Dammit." she mumbled. "Alright, get up, all of you." she announced to whoever was still sleeping, "Your friend needs your help and wants you to meet him at the docks. It seemed urgent so get to it."

Ruby groaned as she tried to get up, "Docks, docks, docks. Why does it feel like we're always doing something by water?" she rubbed her face before smacking it, trying to force herself awake. Ruby then rolled over and began to shake Yang awake, "Yang. Yaaaaaaang, get up." she whined, "C'mon. I know you didn't have your boyfriend to sleep on for a night, but you literally went the past 18 years without that bothering you before."

"I'm so tiiiiiiired." Yang complained, "I kept tossing and turning. I just couldn't get comfortable." Yang stood up and tried to scratch the back of her head with her right hand, only to find it wasn't attached to her. Looking down she saw her arm resting on the ground with it's palm open. "Oh, that explains why my back is sore. I probably detached it in the middle of the night and rolled on it." she yawned.

After a couple minutes, the young hunters made their way out the door leaving back Maria and Qrow, who was nowhere to be seen anyways. "So, did Peter ever say what he wanted to meet us at the docks for?" Nora asked.

"Whaling!?" the group yelled out in unison. They had just met up with Peter, now wearing his costume with his clothes in his web bag. Next to Peter was the fisherman/whaler from the night before Haab and his daughter Aisha. "Let me get this straight, you went to find us passage to Atlas and you got us a job...whaling?" Oscar asked, "Please explain to me how this makes any sense. Is this normal? Does he do this often?" Oscar glanced at Aisha who winked at him leading the farmhand to blush, "I-I-I mean, I've done plenty of manual labor before, but I've never...fished."

Peter held up his hands, "I know, I know. I said I would find us a way to Atlas. AND I HAVE!" he said excitedly, "We just have to help out Captain Haab and his daughter catch this super whale (or something) that he's been chasing his whole life. We do that, then they have more than enough cash for a week and they can grant us passage. Sound good?" The group looked at each other, unsure of the idea. But, seeing as how none of them had a better idea they agreed. "Great! Captain, they're all yours." Peter gave a salute as the group began to follow the Captain to his ship.

Realizing what he said, Yang stopped and looked at Peter with a concerned face, "You aren't coming with us?"

"Mmm, no." Peter said bluntly, "I have some other things I need to do. A different lead to follow up on."

Yang scoffed, "Well if you have a different lead let's follow up with that instead of sitting on our asses where the only thing we're likely to catch is a buzz or a cold."

Peter shook his head, "Can't do that either. We need a 'Plan B' in case one lead doesn't follow through." He placed his hand on Yang's shoulder and nodded, "Don't worry. I'm sure one of us will get a way to Atlas." he slid his hand up against her cheek and she smiled. Yang rolled up Peter's mask to his nose and the two shared a kiss.

"Boo!" the two broke apart to see the rest of the group already on the boat watching them as they waited for Yang, "You two are making me sea sick and we haven't even left the port yet!" Blake yelled out.

Peter rolled down his mask and he jumped into the air and swung off into the city. Yang slumped her shoulders and sighed, "Damn, guess I'm gonna have to deal with just a kiss, huh?" she chuckled.

Yang was the last onto the boat, with Aisha helping her on. "Cool hand." the tomboy complimented, "Does it do cool shit?"

"Yeah, it fires bullets." Yang replied. Aisha gave a double thumbs up and nodded approvingly. Somehow Yang felt she'd get along well with the tomboy.

"HYYYYYUUUUUUGH! Ooooooooooh..." Jaune puked over the side of the boat clutching the sides of the bow, "So I get sea sickness too? Yeah, okay. That's fine."

"Don't be getting me boat dirty boyo, you'll drive the whale away." The Captain criticized as pat Jaune on the back. "Alrighty then, I need me some strong stomachs to help with the bait. Maybe keep the cat faunus away, lots of fish and shrimp." Blake squinted her eyes at the old Captain for the stereotypical remark but she couldn't say anything...he wasn't WRONG after all. "Blondie, Bubbly, Aisha, I need you to start throwing them buoys with bait out into the water, we'll lead him out to sea where we won't run into any crab pots that be out here." Yang, Nora, and Aisha nodded and began throwing the extremely heavy buoys over the side, Aisha showing the two girls the ropes. Don't people usually have machines for this? Yang thought.

"Farmboy, Red cloak, Vomitboy, you three start taking them harpoons and begin sharpening the edges. When your done give them to your partner. Cat, Princess, Ren. You three choose a partner there. Once they sharpen their harpoon you'll need to start tying a knot through the bottom and tie it to the boat."

"Why does Ren not get a nickname?" Weiss mumbled to herself.

"Aisha!" the Captain called out, "Let those two ladies finish with the buoys, come and show these greenhorns how to tie knots and sharpen the harpoons." Aisha nodded and threw one last buoy overboard before heading to the others and showing them the correct way to tie a knot for the harpoons.

"So lame." Yang complained, "We're stuck on a boat and Peter gets to have fun and swing around the city. Could have at least took me." she pouted.

Nora chuckled, "Please, if he took you with him the only kind of 'fun' you two would be having would lead to you not doing your job."

Peter...

So what's the plan now? Ero asked, You don't have a way of seeing that soldier that you caught a glimpse of the other night. "I know." Peter replied as he held his thumb and index finger to his chin, "I may have to do what I never do...espionage." And how do you plan that? Peter chuckled, "You ever play Hitman?" I'm not a physical entity.

Peter made his way to the bar that he and Qrow fought in. Outside the door sat Qrow, unconscious. Seems he came back after his last laugh and got even more sloshed. Easy. Peter stuck to the wall above his head. Looking down he saw Qrow's wallet and smirked. Shooting a webline, he stole Qrow's wallet without him ever waking up. Sorry, Qrow. But I need cash to bribe people. I'd pay you back if I had the cash. Peter nodded before he crawled to the top of the bar.

On the roof Peter saw an air vent. "Just like Solid Snake." He walked up to the vent and ripped off the grating before crawling down, humming Theme of Tera. "Duuuuuh-dun. Do-Do-Do-Do-Do. Duuuuuuh-dun..." He surprisingly, or maybe not so surprisingly, ended up coming out through the ventilation hood used over the grill in the kitchen of the bar. "Ugh...sure glad my suits black, this stuff is greasy and gross." Peter jumped slightly when he heard glass break. When he turned to his left, Peter saw the man who was manning the bar the night before had dropped several plates at the sight of the vigilante.

The man opened up his mouth like he was gonna scream, but Peter shot his hand forward and fired a web ball at his face and silencing him. Peter then dashed towards the man, practically gliding across the ground and lifted him up with one hand. The man was fairly large and balding, so his shock that someone who looked much smaller than him was fairly immense. "Okay, listen closely," Peter started speaking softly, "I'm going to ask you some questions, then I'm going to remove the webbing and you are going to answer me. But if you yell, then we'll have to do this the hard way. Do you understand?" The man nodded. "Okay. Firstly, last night there was an Atlesian guard that came in here last night. Does he come here often." The man nodded. "Good. Do you know who he is?" Again, the man nodded. "Great. What is their name, and rank? Male or Female, because I didn't get a good look."

Peter reached forward and slowly ripped off the webbing from the man. "Their name is Alex Dunkelblau. Rank is Second Lieutenant, they recently got the promotion and came to celebrate. Drank a little more than usual. And, if it's really necessary, they've identified as male for the last ten years."

Peter nodded, "Thanks for the intel." he set the man down and gave a salute before jumping back through the vents and went back to the roof.

Peter cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders. He began to process the information he knew. "Okay, his name is Alex, he's a Second Lieutenant." he stopped and rubbed the back of his head, "Not really sure what use a Second Lieutenant would have in a non-combat zone. But...Qrow mentioned before that Atlas is bringing back their soldiers, maybe he's getting transferred soon?" he scratched his head in thought. "If that's the case, I may have to hurry and go for a more...direct approach." Wait...this doesn't sound like a good idea. "I hope you like Hitman."

At Sea...

"This is sooooooooo booooooooring!" Ruby groaned as she slid against the railing of the ship. The group had been at sea for quite a few hours now. Nothing had happened since they started the trip. They've seen other fish swim through and past them, but no whale. "I thought that maybe whale hunting would be kinda fun (if a little unethical) maybe we'd even fight some Grimm, but it's literally us just sitting on our butts for seven hours!"

Oscar stretched out his body trying to get rid all of the knots and kinks in his muscles, "The worst part about all of this is, we didn't even eat breakfast." the farmhand held his stomach as it growled, "Why do we have to be out at sea all day and not eat?"

"Soooooo booooooring!" Nora groaned as she leaned against the railing of the boat.

Yang and Blake leaned against the railing of the boat near the cockpit where they could see where they were headed. The water splashing against the bow and waking against the side of the boat. Past the glass they could see the Captain steering the boat, puffs of smoke filling the cockpit. "Enjoying the view?" the two turned with bored expressions to see Aisha walking up to them. "Ah, why the glum faces? Let me guess, got your hopes up thinking we'd find it right away?" she chuckled as she wrapped her arms around the shoulders of the two girls, "Not to worry we usually encounter 'ol Belou at least once every few weeks. That's kinda why our crew left."

"I don't know," Blake frowned, "Frankly my luck by or in water hasn't been great."

"Oh because you're a cat faunus?" Aisha asked.

Blake's ears drooped slightly and she grumbled, "I'm going to ignore the stereotypical comment." she mumbled, "What I meant was, my experience with water has lead to either the docks blowing up, being attacked by a large sea-Grimm, almost getting kidnapped and now..." she hit her head against the railing, "I don't know, something just doesn't sit right with me."

"I know what you mean." Yang nodded, "I may not have it, but my Spider Sense has been tingling for a bit now."

A loud alarm began to ring across the boat, "The radar is going off!" the Captain yelled out, "To yer stations, we have ourselves some action!" the teens got up and began moving to their assigned stations they were given.

Nora, Jaune, and Yang were told to man this weird crane looking machine. Apparently the idea is that it moves freely around the ship with the ropes that were attached to the harpoons attached to it. Then the three individuals would have to turn a massive crank, sort of like a giant fishing rod. Newer models are automatic...Captain Haab isn't a rich man, so manual is the way he goes. Ruby, Ren, Oscar, Blake and Aisha were in charge of harpoons. Weiss, not being the strongest, was asked to use her experience in Dust to try and slow the creature down. Having her glyphs was just a bonus. "Get ready!" The Captain yelled.

"So, how much you wanna bet this whale is the size of a small tractor?" Oscar chuckled leading Blake and Ruby to do the same.

"HERE SHE COMES!" Haab shouted. In that moment a humongous hole popped out from the water, easily fifteen feet in diameter spouting thousands of gallons of water into the air making it seem like it was raining. The water began moving at rapid speeds towards the boat. Then, suddenly, the giant whale popped out of the water in a breech over the boat. It was easily five stories tall on its own, and close to 350-400 feet long.

Oscar's eyes widened as the whale got high enough to just barely miss the large crane. However, Haab had to speed the boat forward in order to avoid getting slammed by the gargantuan creature. When the whale slammed into the water it created huge wakes that nearly flipped the boat on itself. Everyone held on for dear life, Oscar even lost balance and ended up running face first into Aisha's chest. Pushing himself away and regaining his balance, Oscar watched as the creature slowly descended back into the water, "HOLY SHIT!" he yelled out.

The group collectively gasped in astonishment. "Cute Boy Oz." Nora said with a disappointed tone.

Oscar blushed slightly from the embarrassment of his rare cursing coming out, "W-Well, what did you expect!?" Oscar yelled out, "We were told it was a whale. That's not a whale! That is a SEA MONSTER!"

Yang blew her hair out of her face and groaned. "Okay, this may be necessary." Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a scrunchy and put her hair into a ponytail to help keep out of her eyes.

"You carry scrunchies with you?" Nora asked with a smirk.

Yang nodded, "Yeah, I figured it'd be a good idea in case Peter ever wants me to--"

"AAAAAAAAGH, TOO MUCH INFORMATION!" Jaune interrupted as he cupped his ears.

"--go work out with him." Yang finished. Jaune's face began to turn red as he realized he may have jumped the gun in his assumptions. "Why, what did you think I was gonna say?"

"Nothing!" Jaune replied, trying to hide his face from the world. Why did my mind go there? he whined internally.

Nora gave Jaune a smug smirk and shook her head, "Jaune." she laughed.

Peter...

Peter sat on a lamppost just outside the military base. He had been waiting for someone, anyone to come out of the base. So far he hasn't gotten a thing. "I need to get to that Alex dude before he heads to the bar. And I'll be honest, I'll do it even if it means sneaking in and getting to him myself." Wait, I'm confused. If you are trying to get a Bullhead to Atlas, then wouldn't any soldier work? "No, this Alex is likely getting restationed back on Atlas. So if we get him to take us with him then it doesn't look suspicious compared to if we are getting some random guard." Hm. Yes, I suppose that would make things a little easier. But how are you sure the guard will help you?"Well, I'm not...I'm kinda hoping that the one time I put a lot of faith into something it'll just pan out. It's be nice to have good luck for a change."

As Peter said that a guard walked out of the gates doing what he assumed to be a perimeter check. Well I'll be damned. Without even a second thought, Peter zipped his way to a wall just above where the soldier stopped to pee. "Hey man, you mind putting your dick away? It's way less embarrassing for the both of us if you do."

The soldier looked up, nearly falling back in surprise. "Spider--!?" the man was cut off from Peter webbing his mouth shut.

"Okay, now do me a favor and zip up your pants." the man complied and Peter nodded. "Thanks." He then sent a quick jab to the man's face, breaking his aura in one go and definitely breaking his nose too. The soldier fell back and sprawled across the ground, Peter smirking beneath his mask. I don't understand. Why are you so happy? "I told you didn't I? 'I hope you like Hitman'."

Peter began to remove them man's clothes and put them over his suit to blend in. He removed his mask and attached it to his hip so that it's be hidden by the pants. The clothes overall were a pretty tight fit, but if he didn't move a whole bunch and wasn't forced to get into any fights, Peter felt he'd be alright. He then grabbed the scroll out of the man's pocket and looked at his identification. "Private Johan Geld?" he asked, "What is it with Atlesians and having German names?" Peter then looked to the soldier who was now left in his underwear. "Better hid the body." Peter webbed the man's body up into a cocoon and hid him in the small bushes.

Peter took a deep breath and then gulp nervously, "Nothing ventured...nothing gained." Peter adjusted the hat that came with the uniform so that the cameras didn't get a good look at his face. Then he was able to walk in no problem. He continued walking and noticed that Deadpool had been moved from his cage area. Wonder if they moved him inside. The moment had finally arrived to see if Peter's plan could even work. He held the soldier's scroll up to the the scanner on the door and to his surprise it opened no problem. Alright...now I guess I have to follow through with this plan. he chuckled.

As Peter entered the base, in the distance sat a dark figure watching him through a set of binoculars. "So, you would be so desperate as to try and get the military to help you? Oh, I expected so much more of you, Spider-Man." the man stood up and clicked his tongue in disappointment, gripping the hilt of his blade tightly as he put away his binoculars. "It's no matter. I can wait for you. Then we shall clash again."

Inside the base, Peter's Spider Sense was constantly blaring, most likely due to the fact that everyone there would try to harm him if he was found out. Think, think, think. Where in the world would I find Alex? I think you should be asking. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?!? This is a bad idea, my entire being is shivering! Peter continued walking until his Spider Sense blared harder than it had before. What? Where? To answer his question immediately he felt something hit his gut. Looking down he saw that he had just walked into Cordovan. Oh crap. Oh crap.

"What the--" Cordovan flailed her arms in the air and stared at Peter with dagger eyes, "Watch where the hell you're going! What's wrong with you!? Just what are you doing here!?" Peter gulped, unsure at what to say. "Wait a minute...have I...seen you before? You look...familiar."

"Um...Yes. We met when I first transfered here. You um...greeted me and the other newbies?" Peter bluffed the best he could hoping to get lucky.

Cordovan backed up slightly and frowned, "Of course. I vaguely recall...'greeting' the newcomers. Just what the hell are you doing here? In the Command Center?"

"I'm...lost?" he chuckled.

Cordovan's face became red in her anger and Peter could hear her teeth grinding in frustration, "Honestly you stupid newbies, don't you take the time to learn about the base you are stationed in? Why am I not surprised. There's always one bafoon, but I never expected every single one of the new batch to be full of idiots!" she growled, "Well no more! I'm tired of dealing with you idiots. If you want to find where your going then you can find it yourself! Just get the hell out of here!"

Peter held his hands up and nervously walked out of the room. Sheesh, what a grouch. he thought. Peter began to aimlessly walk around the base. He didn't really notice much, aside from where the locker rooms were (no dice on finding Alex in there), and the lunchroom (no Alex there either, but Peter found out the cook makes really good stroganoff).

You're never going to find him. If anything you're going to get caught. Hush, we don't know that. Can't be negative Nelly's about it. Peter began to round the corner and to his surprise he accidently bumped into a small cadet. Unlike when he ran into Cordovan though his Spider Sense never went off. Instinctively, due to it being such a small lady (and he could definitely tell it was a woman) he apologized with the first thing that came to his head. "Oh, sorry, Neo." he clasped his mouth realizing he messed up. The girl looked up at him and he looked down on her and he saw her eyes change. It was Neo!

What the hell are you doing here!? Neo asked as she pointed up to Peter.

"Me?" Peter whispered, "What about you? What are you doing here?"

I'm trying to keep that Cinder chick off your trail the best I can, so I'm taking my time. Now answer my question. Neo puffed out her cheeks and folded her arms.

"We're trying to get a lift to Atlas. I have a lead, but I need to find an officer." Peter blinked a few times when be realized something, "How well do you know this base, Neo?"

Pretty well, I downloaded the map. Why?

"Have you seen Wade?"

Neo's eyes widened in shock, WADEY!? HE'S HERE!?! With no warning Neo began to dash away, presumably where she thought Deadpool would be.

"Neo wait!" Peter snapped his fingers when he realized the pint sized ice cream was well out of earshot, "Damn. I wanted that map." he sighed, "Well...hopefully she finds Deadpool. God forbid he goes on a prison transport to Atlas without us or something." Feeling slightly defeated, Peter went back to his search.

At sea...

"Jaune move your arms!" Yang shouted as she was trying to crank the giant crane rod on one side while Nora and her freakishly inhuman strength did the other side.

"I'm...trying!" Jaune yelled back, "I'm not as strong as you two!"

The waves at sea began to get nasty. The water violently splashing up onto the deck causing the teens to nearly fall from the force. "Keep your feet! We don't need any injuries! Not when it's this critical!" Haab shouted, "Aisha, you and the others get ready, she's coming back for another round!" Aisha nodded and her and the rest of the harpoon group got ready for another pass by. Already the whale had multiple harpoons in its backside, however, that was nothing new for the humongous creature.

"Blake, you better get that throwing arm ready!" Aisha yelled out. The water began to part again and the crew could see the top of the whale showing again, along with the scars that were likely left from the man other occasions Haab hunted the beast. "Schnee, put that semblance of yours to good use!"

Weiss nodded and used a summoning glyph to summon a Queen Lancer. As the whale got closer, the summon fired its stinger and attached it to the whale. "Good girly! We'll keep track of it by the air!" Haab cheered. As the whale approached them, Haab moved the boat to get out of the beast's way. "Now, on the drive by!" Oscar, Ren and the girls began throwing the harpoons with all their force. Their aim didn't matter, the whale was more than big enough that even someone like Oscar with little training could hit it. After the drive by the whale went back under water, but the crew could see where it was heading thanks to the Lancer summon.

"This...is...ridiculous!" Jaune breathed out as he and Yang struggled to turn the crank of the reel while Nora seemed to do fine on her side still.

"Come here fishy!" Nora yelled out, drool beginning to form in her mouth, "Come here so we can cook you up!"

"You wanna eat that thing?" Yang asked.

"Not a fish, Nora." Jaune panted.

Nora, with stars in her eyes, began to crank faster, enough that it actually started to move Jaune and Yang's side. "We cook that baby up and we'll be set for weeks!"

"Weeks?" the two blondes asked in unison, "You mean 'months' right?" Yang asked.

Nora scoffed, "Me AND Peter? And probably Deadpool? You think we'd let it last more than a few weeks?" The two blondes nodded in response, a mutual agreement that Nora had a point.

"Prepare yer'selves!" Haab shouted, "The beast's still not finished! We've got 'er right where we want 'er!" The whale began to speed up, and to the surprise of the crew, it rammed the boat in the side causing it to tilt to one side. "Careful now!" The boat rocked back to the right position, however when it landed it caused water to erupt onto the deck from the massive splash and both Weiss and Oscar fell to the deck. "Here she comes again!" The whale was coming to ram the boat again, but Haab put the ship in full speed and was able to avoid the full strength, but he too a good hit still to his hull. "Now! While she's close!"

The crew began throwing the harpoons and hitting the side of the whale. The creature came up from the water, let out its gallons of water to cause a faux rain, and then let out a mighty cry of it's whale song. "Wow I...almost feel bad." Yang grunted as she and Jaune kept cranking.

"Get more on the reel!" Haab ordered, "Today is ours!" Aisha and Blake were first to help on the reel since they were the next strongest; meanwhile, Ruby, Ren and Oscar continued their harpoon throwing with Weiss putting up speed glyphs in front of them to make their throws have more velocity. The others continued cranking and soon, somehow, they were able to lock the head of the whale against the side of the boat. "HA HAAA!" Haab cheered, "After forty years I finally have yee, yee vile creature!"

There was light cheering from the crew as they managed to get the seemingly impossible task done. Yang began high fiving her crank partners and Ruby began jumping up and down. One person not celebrating was Oscar. That felt...surprisingly easy. Oscar noticed that it began to get really dark and he looked up to see a gigantic tail getting ready to slam down on them. Oscar's eyes widened and he pointed at the object coming for them, "TAAAAAAIL!" he shouted out.

The others looked up and saw the gigantic tail coming for them, "TAAAAAAIL!" the shouted in unison. Almost immediately the tail crashed down on the ship and split it in half, sending all who was on board out for a swim.

Yang landed in the water and immediately felt how cold it was. Her skin felt like it was gonna shrink to the point where her skeleton would burst through. She quickly swam up and let out a breath she was holding in, spitting out water in the process. She looked at the wreckage of the ship and all she could see was flames and floating debris. "Ruby!? Blake!? Weiss!?" she called out.

"Yaaaang!" Yang turned her head to see Ruby in a inflatable raft with the others. Yang swam to the raft and she was hoisted in by Aisha and Nora. Ruby and Yang quickly shared a hug and everyone looked at the wreckage, both in disappointment and shock.

Soon the whale came up and breached on top of the ship, finishing it off for good. The wakes of the breach almost flipped the raft, but on the positive note it pushed the crew closer to the shore. Then, as if everything wasn't crazy enough, the crew saw that the tail that hit them wasn't from the whale, but from another slightly smaller whale! "It's a mother!" Weiss gasped.

"Well I'll be." Aisha laughed, "She probably had just been trying to protect her family, eh, dad?"

Captain Haab somehow was able to light his dripping pipe up and he let out a puff of smoke. "Aye. If that be the case," he sighed, "I cannot in good conscious continue my endeavor for this whale." the teens groaned in response, all their work had been for nothing. "I'd love to help you children, really I would. But as you can see my ship has been destroyed. I do have another, much smaller, vessel. But that is reserved for fishing. I wouldn't have the fuel nor supplies to make it all the way to Mantle for 'ye. I'd be out a weeks worth of fish for trade, and I need to think about me family first." he sighed, "I hope you understand."

The group looked down in disappointment. "Great. Thanks." Yang replied in a passive aggressive tone. She began to wring the water out of her long lochs. "This is so crap. From now on the only time I want to be wet is when I'm with Peter--"

"AAAAAAAH! Please, keep that to yourself!" Jaune interrupted as he covered his ears, his face turning red.

"--at a pool." Yang finished. "What did you think I was gonna say?"

"NOTHING!" Jaune, for the second time today, realized he jumped the gun.

"Jaune." Nora laughed, again giving him a smug grin.

Peter...

Damn, where is he? I feel like I've been walking around in circles! Peter complained as he continued to aimlessly walk around base. See, like I said. Bad idea. Peter's Spider Sense went off and this time he moved out of the way so he didn't run into the person this time. As the person walked past him he caught a glimpse of the last name. That was him! "Excuse me, sir!" Peter called out trying to get Alex's attention.

"What is it, private?" He asked with a light groan. When Peter took a look at him he noticed that he was pretty small, as in, he was really skinny. Dude could stand a cheeseburger or two.

Peter gulped, Think, think! "I heard about your promotion. I just wanted to congratulate you." Alex blinked a few times and smiled, "Also...there's been rumors going around recently."

"Rumors?" Alex asked, his face turning red like some sort of secret was about to come out, "W-What kinds of rumors?"

Peter looked both ways before he pulled Alex into a storage closet so that they couldn't be heard, truthfully Peter did it because he didn't want to risk being caught by someone who realized he wasn't who he said he was. "There's a rumor that you'll be heading to Atlas."

Alex shuffled his feet a little, "R-Really? How would someone know that?" he said nervously.

Peter moved closer causing the officer's face to become flush, "There is also a rumor that you'll be taking that Deadpool merc with you too. As a prison transport."

The officer's eyes widened and he pulled out his gun and pointed it at Peter, "How do you know that!? Who told you!?"

"I-I told you, it's a rumor!" Holy crap, he pulled a gun on me!? I told you this was stupid! Peter gulped, "But I take it that means...the rumors are true?" Alex frowned and put his gun away before nodding, he looked like he was about to cry. "Uh...sir? Are you okay?"

"I can't believe this is happening. This was supposed to be a secret from everyone. In case there was some sort of mole." he whined, "That was one of the reasons why I was given the promotion in the first place, so that nobody would suspect we were transporting the merc with me. Stupid, stupid!" he began banging his head against a supply crate.

"What if...what if I could help you out, sir?" Peter suggested.

"What do you mean?" Alex sniffed.

"What if I could get you Spider-Man. You know, to make up for this blunder." Peter suggested. WHAT!?

"You saw him? He's been missing for almost a year."

"I heard the civilians on the train coming from Mistral City that he was spotted on the train. I didn't believe it, but I saw him in the city. He was by the docks the other day. I was able to talk to him, he said he needed transport to Atlas." This is an AWFUL idea! "What if you put him on that prison transport? He wouldn't be any the wiser."

Alex beamed brightly, "REALLY!? That may actually save my promotion!"

Peter nodded, "But you'll have to be alone. He may not trust you if you have a big group."

"I know of a spot." Alex suggested, "There's an area not far from the base. it's a cliffside facing the forest. It'd be perfect."

"I'll let him know." Boom! See that? Kick-ass. Now I'll just go there and explain that if he wants me to go with him he'll have to take all of us. This was a FANTASTIC plan. No thanks to Mrs. Negative.

A couple of hours had past, it's now deep into the night. Peter was holding up his scroll that Deadpool had given him to try and get a connection, but Yang and the others were still vastly out of range. "Are they still fishing? Man, I really hope the 'one day' thing doesn't become 'one week' trip." Peter was dressed down in his Spider-Man suit and made it to the clearing Alex had told him about. It was quiet, really quiet. The only sounds were the splashing waves down below and the few squirrels and other forest critters that were nearby.

The wind blew and Peter began rubbing his arms, "Damn, I hope that Alex dude gets here quick. It is freezing out here."

"Then I suppose I should warm you up with the blood that shall leave your body." Peter's Spider Sense blared and he narrowly dodged a slash from a sword. When he landed he looked up to be greeted by Adam Taurus of all people. "Of course, I never expected to kill you with such a feeble attack. Yes, this will be a battle worthy of my vengeance." he chuckled as he sheathed his sword.

"Adam?" Peter asked, cocking his lens for effect, "What are you doing here? How did you get here so quickly?"

"I've been here." Adam explained as he and Peter began to circle strafe each other, both waiting to see who'd make the first move. "After you let me go, I was humiliated. I'd rather you have killed me then and there. The White Fang shunned me." he clenched his teeth and balled his fist, "They just don't understand my pain." he seethed. "So I vowed I'd find you. And I did. I watched you every moment of every day, planning, waiting. Waiting for the day you'd be left alone."

"Are...Are you stalking me?" Peter asked, "That's like...super creepy, dude."

"Yes, I've followed you...Peter." Adam smirked causing Peter to flinch slightly, "And in my following and waiting I came to a conclusion. One I never thought possible." he explained, "I don't want to kill you. No, in a way, I sort of respect you." he chuckled, "I realized that what I wanted...was to kill those who wronged me. The White Fang, The Schees, Hazel...Blake." Peter tensed and Adam smirked, "Yes, that was the reaction I was hoping for. I slaughtered them, Peter. The White Fang who opposed me. I followed you, waited until you were alone. Not to fight you, but to warn you." Adam unsheathed his sword and got into a fighting stance, "I will kill Blake. The very moment you aren't there I will murder her in cold blood."

"Then I'll keep her close." Peter replied, getting into an aggressive fighting stance of his own.

"You can't watch her for the rest of your life." Adam laughed, "Eventually she'll have to leave your side."

Peter clenched his teeth, "Then I'll stop you, here and now."

"Yes!" Adam shouted, "That's what I wanted to hear! Come, let us see who's resolve is strongest!"

Adam and Peter launched at each other. Adam threw the first slash, but Peter contorted his body to dodge it. Adam anticipated this and already had his hand on his rifle-scabbard and fired a blast to Peter's chest. However, much to Adam's surprise, Peter had fired a web ball at the barrel of the scabbard as the shell was leaving the chamber, causing the gun to gunk up. "Impressive." Adam smirked. Peter then shot a webline behind Adam and zipped his way to the faunus, trying to punch him in the process. Adam slashed up trying to cut Peter in half, but Peter was able to clasp his hands together and catch his blade before it jabbed into his chest. "You're strong." Adam noted, "The resolve you have is better than the first time we met. And unlike the second time I'm not blinded by my rage. I've been enlightened, watching you enlightened me. If I want something done correctly, then I'll have to do it myself."

"Ero!" Peter shouted, and suddenly his aura shot itself forward from his chest. Ero gripped her hands around Adam's collar and headbutted the faunus. Peter let go of Adam's sword and he staggered back. While Adam staggered, he looked at Peter and saw how when Ero was out, Peter was more tense in his right leg.

"Interesting." Adam smirked, "I see I've enlightened you too. Made you a bit more cautious, maybe?"

Ero morphed back and Peter's aura glowed over his leg. "Cautious? No. Aggressive? Hell yes!" Again Peter zipped himself forward. Adam went for a horizontal slash, but Peter shot weblines down to the ground and pulled himself so he could land and slide between Adam's legs. When Peter jumped up he performed a spin kick and knocked Adam back across the ground. "Give up, Adam. Unless you want me to break your arm again." Peter said with a smirk. Adam grimaced and the two launched at each other again. Adam would swing his sword and Peter would have Ero block the sword slashes and Peter would follow up with gut checks.

Adam was finally able to counter by having a point blank shot to Peter's chest. Of course, thanks to the metal material on Peter's chest the round bounced off, but it still hurt like hell. Peter got up and shifted back into his fighting stance again, but he hesitated to attack Adam again when several bright lights began to shine on them. Looking up, Peter saw several Bullheads and flown overhead him and Adam. From the trees came dozens of soldiers from the base holding their guns ready. "Adam Taurus!" someone called out from an intercom from one of the Bullheads, "You are under arrest for both the attacks on Beacon and the failed attack on Haven, as well as countless other crimes you have been affiliated with. Spider-Man, or rather PETER PARKER, you are under arrest for vigilantism as ordered by General Ironwood himself!"

Peter's lenses widened in surprise, "How do they know my name!?" Bad, I told you, very bad!

The soldiers began to surround Adam and Peter with their guns at the ready. "It seems we'll have to call a temporary truce." Adam smirked. "What do you say, Peter? Shall we fight the government together?"

"Fall out!" one of the soldiers shouted, "Take them both down, by force if necessary." The began to fire their guns. Peter dodged the bullets easily, Adam simply blocked them with his blade which began to glow a vicious red.

"Hahahaha." Adam laughed, "You're finished!" Adam tried for a moon slash, but to his surprise he was yanked off balance by Peter shooting a webline at him. Adam released his slice and his moon slash flew across the ground and cut down several trees in the process.

Peter dodged another shot and fired a Web Ball at the soldier who tried shooting him, covering his face. He then fired out a webline at another soldier's gun and pulled it from his hands and began to spin it around, knocking several soldiers down before throwing it at Adam so he ended up cutting a soldier's gun in half instead of cutting the soldier in half. The soldier that Peter had blinded earlier finally got the webbing off his face. However, he wasn't going to be able to see clearly much longer as he suffered an uppercut thanks to Peter before suffering a web slam and being webbed to the ground.

"We're taking to much damage, give us air support!" One of the soldiers ordered through his comms.

"Air support?" Peter asked. He got his answer through his Spider Sense blaring. The Bullheads began to open fire with chain guns. To avoid the fire, Peter formed himself a large web shield and began blocking the gunfire. Adam, again, smirked and began to to absorb all the fire into his sword, it glowing a vicious red again. Peter's Spider Sense went off and he saw what Adam was doing. "NO!"

Adam released his moon slash, this time he connected hitting the engines on the wings of the Bullheads. The two Bullheads crashed into each other and collided into the third causing all three to come and crash onto the cliffside. A massive explosion went off blasting everyone off their feet. When Peter got back on his he saw pilots struggling to get out of the burning Bullheads. Limping to the different vehicles he got everyone out, including Alex, before dragging their unconscious bodies to the edge of the forest. Nodding, Peter fired off a webline and swung away. Guess that plan was a bust.

When Alex Dunkelblau woke up he looked around and took count. To his surprise all the soldiers were moderately unharmed. Pulling out his scroll he contacted the base with his news, "Special Operative Cordovan!" he called out, "I have bad news, Spider-Man is still on the loose. But he's here in Argus. Trying to get to Atlas."

"Then we'll tighten security!" Cordovan yelled, "We will catch that menace and return him, for the good of Atlas!"

"For the good of Atlas!" Alex cheered back with a salute.

Off in the trees Adam stood, a smirk present on his face. "I told you, didn't I Peter? The moment you are apart from Blake I will kill her. So how close will you be to her now that the whole city knows who you are?" he laughed, "And to think, all it took was a simple call to tell the military your real name!" With that, Adam disappeared, determined to return sometime soon.

To be continued...

A/N: Hey...remember when I said, 'Oh, the next chapter will likely be short'? Yeah, that was a fucking lie now, wasn't it? I likely could have split this chapter into two separate chapters, but I feel the way it is written the two substories wouldn't work unless they were in the same chapter.

So the A plot, Peter has to try and convince a soldier to get him to Atlas. I feel Peter trying to do the absolute hardest thing to get the best result seems very in character. I also feel him believing espionage trickles down to a game like Hitman or Metal Gear is also very in character. Also Adam. Yeah, RT didn't give me a whole bunch, so I figure building off a revenge story kind of idea that they kinda set up but never elaborate on was probably the best. At least, I think, it makes more sense to say that Adam was only in the White Fang because he believed that they'd allow him to get revenge, but of course, when he views them as too weak he just gets rid of them. Which I think kinda plays off the Vergil nature of him I think RT was trying to attempt when he was introduced. I also will pat myself on the back and say that Adam being so petty as to just get everyone away from Blake the best he can just so he could kill her is also probably a better idea than he just shows up out of nowhere. In this way, Adam doesn't care for anyone else, he doesn't want the unnecessary bloodshed, but will cause it if they get in his way.

As for the B plot. It's pretty much the comedic relief. They had to do something and, again, I thought they Mobey Dick bit was kinda funny. Plus I got to have some fun with inuendoes, so that was fun too.

Anyways, with that we are getting closer to the end of the volume. How will things play out? Did Neo find Deadpool? How will the Adam/Blake fight go down, if that even happens now? How will Terra and Saphron react now that everyone in Argus will likely be aware of Peter and his presence? I guess you'll have to find out next time.
